• June 5, 2012: [Edvardus] Former President Damian Marino passes away in the early morning due to ill-health.
• June 16, 2012: [Edvardus] Elections are held and the National Assembly results are as follows: 244 (49%) Progressive Party, 131 (26%) Christian Democrat Party, 124 (25%) Democratic Socialist Party. Sakuma Chomei, leader of the Progressive Party, addresses the world.
• June 25, 2012: [Edvardus] The National Assembly votes 255 (Yea) to 244 (Nay) to elect a new head of state. Afterwards, Sakuma Chomei is elected as the new head of state with 250 votes, the bare minimum. Six members of the Christian Democrat Party vote for Chomei.
• July 6, 2012: [Edvardus] The National Assembly votes on an amendment to give police increased powers in order to cut bureaucratic red tape. It passes 372 (Yea) to 127 (Nay).
• July 16, 2012: [Edvardus] In a dramatic event, the National Assembly votes down a proposed amendment to ratify the borders of Sinae. The amendment would remove the Sinaean claim on Tibet, Xinjiang, Mongolia, Hainan, and Taiwan. It is defeated 255 (Present) to 244 (Yea).
• July 30, 2012: [Edvardus] The Progressive-controlled National Assembly amends Constitution to abolish the Legislative Court thereby transferring all legislative-making powers to the National Assembly. The vote passes 250 (Yea) to 249 (Nay). The 6 CDP defectors are identified and expelled from the CDP and become Independents.
• August 1, 2012: [Edvardus] The National Assembly passes legislation allowing government to imprison those who actively seek to oppose the government.
• August 3, 2012: [Edvardus] President Chomei re-establishes official diplomatic ties with Hi No Moto by signing a treaty formally recognizing Taiwan as sovereign territory of the Hi No Moton Empire. All 10 Taiwan Assemblymen are removed, bringing total Assembly membership to 489.
• August 4 - 5, 2012: [Edvardus] Massive protests erupt from DSP supporters upon hearing the independence of Taiwan. Protesters argue that only the National Assembly can change boundaries. President Chomei orders the military to detain thousands of protesters.
• August 6, 2012: [Edvardus] The Democratic Socialist Party formally announces that it is dissolving and all party members vacate their seats in the National Assembly instead of risking arrest due to the August 1 law, bringing total Assembly membership to 120 CDP, 239 Progressives, and 6 Independents.
• August 8, 2012: [Edvardus] One hundred Progressive Assemblymen bring forth a motion to ban all religious NGOs after intelligence reports claim that many are fronts for subversive activities. Muslim and Buddhist Progressives oppose language of bill and seek a compromise. The revised bill states that the government would set up a bureau that manages religious organizations within Sinae. The bill passes 305 to 60 with the 60 members of the CDP opposing the legislation. The sixty CDP members who voted against the bill are forcibly removed from the National Assembly and imprisoned, reducing the total membership to 305.
• August 20, 2012: [Edvardus] After much backlash from party supporters, the Christian Democratic Party formally announces that it is dissolving and the remaining party members become Independents. The National Assembly is now 239 Progressives and 66 Independents.
• August 22, 2012: [Edvardus] The National Assembly proposes change to national boundaries to exclude Mongolia, Tibet, Xinjiang, and Taiwan as well as downgrading Hainan to a Special Economic Zone. All 66 Independents vote Present to avoid arrest. Mongolian, Tibetan, and Xinjiang Assemblymen resign due to relinquishing Sinaean citizenship bringing the National Assembly down to just 162 Progressives and 66 Independents.
• August 25, 2012: [Edvardus] A Christian extremist wearing a bomb detonates himself inside the government building housing the new state religion bureau. Martial law is declared and all Christians are systematically rounded up and sent to labour camps. Those who renounce their faith & join the Party are free but under surveillance.

So my invasion window is August 28 to August 31 - around about so I might be the first one into China.


I found Edvardus' military thread.

Now he had a 7,500,000 (1.27%) standing military and I took RL China's reserve ratio (35% of their active forces) and put it to his so that's how I calculated his total troop size. I think it's safe to say that is the total number of troops we'd be facing in China.

My OPPLAN

[United States of PA]

August 26th [Afternoon] to Undetermined : IAF conducts Massive Air Strike throughout Western China, ranging from Sichuan, Qinghai and Gansu to the west to the Tajikistan border. Target includes Military installations of all kinds, bridges, roads in locations where damage could not be easily repair, tunnels, etc.

August 26th [Evening through the night into the 27th] Indian Army assaults across the border at key locations. Airborne assault is conducted against Lhasa International Airport, Bamda Airport, Golmud Airport, Xining Airport, Yushu Airport, and the Regional Airport near the town of Bangzhongcun in order to set up Forward Operating Bases and operational Airports for the deployment of more Forces by aircraft and various combat Aircraft (Su-24s primarily).

I wont be issuing a direct Declaration of War against Sinae, and this only outlines what has happened in past two post/one post (They cover the same exact things, so treat them as one post because nothing new happened in my last one).

Depends on the target and the overall effect/damage caused. Using it to wipe out an isolated military target resulting in no civilian casualties would probably not cause a big stink in Amigard. Although I would still question why a nuclear weapon would be necessary if a conventional precision guided weapon could accomplish the same thing.

Nukes make the Theocracy nervous in general though, and we discourage their use under almost any circumstance.

Alright, could someone double check my math?

For the Lanzhou Military Region (13) of the Sinaean Military on this thread i get 2.654mn square miles of land for this Military Region (I did not count a lot of the old Republic of China Regions as they have now been absorbed by newer PRC Regions which he also names, name Xizang/Tibet and Inner Mongolia. I also assumed the Mongolia Special Adminstrative Region to be just Mongolia).

If that math is correct, as is the assumption i've been going on that Edvardus had ~770,000 active troops per MR ( including about 35% more of that for about 1mn total including reserves), that leaves a lot more undefended land than i was expecting. Sichuan is its own MR too my understanding, so that is another beast, but Lanzhou is more important at the current moment.

Lay in regards to nuclears, Russia would be pissed, but it'd be more concerned about how this changes the rules of warfare. We'd rush production of tactical nuclear weapons, raise some new CBRN Regiments, and the planned Military expansion would become a lot smaller (but more intensive in terms of quality of raised regiments).
