Vanmakti Followers Burn Christian Churches, Slaughter Thousands
A Christian church burned by Vanmakti
New Dreadvonika, Freekish East Colonies - Violence erupted today throughout portions of the Freekish East Colonies, a small cluster of territory situated far from the Freekish mainland, when armed Vanmakti mobs began taking to the streets and openly confronting native Christian populations. Eyewitnesses have reported crowds numbering in the thousands, backed by paramilitary colonial garrisons and even regular Army, engaging in horrific acts ranging from decapitations, rape, and even mass crucifixion and live incineration. Independent journalists have released video showing several Christians being dragged behind vehicles, and others strung up from bridges after being flayed, marking a bloody resurgence of anti-Christian sentiment throughout Imperial territory.
After a recent declaration from Supreme Warlord Azrael Dreadfire declaring holy war against Christian aggressors in The Godly Nations, Vanmakti followers worldwide have reacted with unrestrained aggression, and local authorities have done nothing to quell the bloodshed, instead choosing to side with the pagan mobs. Graffiti bearing such statements as "Where is your God now?" and "Slaughter Christian scum!" have been spray painted across New Dreadvonika, and several Christian churches and storefronts have been burned to the ground, with fire crews standing down, acting only to prevent the fires from spreading across the city.
These incidents are the first in some years, the last being the "Dechristianization of Automagfreek", a period in Freekish history that saw the entire remaining Christian populace within Automagfreek proper entirely wiped out in a campaign so brutal it served as a pillar for the World Assembly's condemnation of the Freekish Empire. No official statement on the recent outbreak of violence in New Dreadvonika has been released from the Great Hall, though the Defense Department has mobilized two Armies for overseas deployment, suggesting that the Freekish government has intentions of their own.

At the Great Hall, Azrael sat hunched on the black obsidian throne which had always served as the seat of power for his father. His mind had been poisoned by the woman he now called wife, for the otherworldly entity known as Rayne had successfully corrupted his very essence. It was in the stew of demonic energies that he was slowly driven mad, and he could be seen wandering the corridors at night speaking to himself and plotting out new ways to grind down the people he saw as his subjects. The days of peace on the homefront and liberty itself were under dire threat as the Supreme Warlord grew increasingly distant from sanity, his thoughts solely on ushering in a new era of cruelty the likes of which had not been seen in ages.
The Christians had long been a blight upon the Empire, for they historically came to Automagfreek hoping to convert the unruly pagans to the ways of the cross, and in centuries past they had great success, all but wiping out the Vanmakt faith under President Thomas Kaye. It was not until the military coup by Damien Dreadfire that the once heretical faith saw a resurgence, and the Vanmakti developed an intense hatred for the Christians that had persecuted them on their native soil. This long lasting Blood Feud had never seen an end, for Christianity had taken hold across the planet and continued to threaten the ways of the pagan peoples, most recently in a series of attacks on sacred temples.
This was an affront that could not stand, and in his bloodlust Azrael ordered his forces to begin preparing themselves for overseas deployment. It had fallen to him now, and to the might of the most powerful pagan civilization on earth, the Freekish Empire, to stamp down the Christian threat and put them back on their knees where they belonged. Plans were already being drawn up by Defense Chairman Marv Bonesplitter and Azrael's recently returned right hand man, Alerick Fleshgrinder. The latter was widely reviled and had earned a reputation of cruelty overshadowed only by that of Damien Dreadfire himself, and Azrael would see to it that such skills were put to good use. The holy war against the Christian infidels had begun once more, and the Freeks would not stop until the heathens were beaten into submission, and their God cast down into utter ruin.
