They just ran. He had blasted open the head of the soldier in the lead, only to have the sergeant order a full on charge.
Idiots he though, pulling back the bolt then snapping back it into place. They were now in full view. He squeezed the trigger and took out the one closest to the field, blasting open his head as well. They were now only about a hundred yards from the training ground.
By now, the trainees and the other two snipers near him had taken notice. He heard two shots, then two more. He did not see if any had gone down, but doubted they had missed - he was to busy watching the man that appeared to be the sergeant.
He was near the front of the pack, running like a madman, and shooting like one as well. Apparently using "spray and pray" firing tactics, he came close to shooting his own men more than twice.
The sniper saw the Prussian NCOs on the field ordering the Fascist revolutionaries into firing position, in a wide line several men deep, reminiscent of Napoleonic battlefield tactics.
They're jumping out the frying pan into the fire he thought, watching the first of the unidentified enemy soldiers reach the field, bursting out of the woods. They must be Japs, he thought with a chuckle, No one else could be so suicidal.
They began blazing away with their automatic guns, waving them at the Prussian and Heatherean Fascist forces more than a hundred yards away.
The officer in charge appeared to yell something and waved his sword downward. As he did, they fired a volley, all having had time to pick their target.
They fired three more volleys at the officer's command, about twenty-five having already gone down from enemy fire.
He turned back slowly, stealthily, not wishing to make his position known to any hostiles still in the forest.
He decided he needed to take a risk. He brought a small, miniature radio out of his pocket, and spoke into it quietly, in a harsh whisper.
"Aachen. Aachen, come in, this is Bauer."
"Bauer, what in hell are you doing on the radio? There might still be hostiles about."
"Ja, I believe there are. I thought I saw way more than how many ran into the clearing - I suspect they're still lying in wait."
"You don't see 'em?"
"No. But look from your position, to the southwest, near the largest tree, with the moss on all sides..."
"Ja?"
"Just look around it."
Several seconds passed. He could hear the gunfire in the clearing - he was surprised any of the enemies were still alive.
"Oh, Bauer."
"Ja?"
"There are men around it. Looks like there's a squad on my side, maybe five men, and another squad, much nearer you. Look down, and then slowly look up, going northwest."
He did so. He saw them - it was a large clump of leaves, that didn't appear to belong there.
"I got 'em."
"Yep. I'll radio Fiester."
About thirty seconds went by, and the radio came back to life.
"He sees them. Do you think they're spotted us?"
"No. Impossible. I have moved twice in the past twelve hours, and even then only slightly. I'm talking as quiet as I possibly can now - I can barely hear myself."
"I can barely hear you either. All right, he's taking the one at the back. You take the one at the front. I'll shoot first - you two shoot afterwards. Remember, take them all out. Reload, fire, reload, fire - as quickly as possible."
"Understood."
He lined up his telescopic sight with the front man's head. The crosshairs centered on what was probably his ear. He waited for the shot - then heard it. He squeezed the trigger immediately, and heard the gunshot from Fiester as he fired as well.
Training Field, Prussian Military Base, New Hethera
"Fire!"
The Haumptmann shouted it for the forth time, swinging down his gleaming sword as the sunlight glinted off of it, almost blinding him.
He had seen the men come bursting out of the woods soon after what sounded like the shot of a high-caliber rifle. He immediately began forming the new 'troops' into firing lines, hearing machine gun fire. Once the few men came bursting out, guns-a-blazing, he gave the order to fire a volley, and a hail of bullets went into the trees.
Now, there were only a few enemy soldiers left. Several of the Fascists had gone down, probably about twenty or thirty by now.
There were only two men left. They were firing willy-nilly, hoping to hit something. Three bullets whizzed by his body, barely missing him. Then they didn't. Two hit him in the leg, another in the hip.
He yelled as he went down, though he stifled the scream as best he could. It was more out of surprise than pain, however - he had been wounded in the German-Persian War as well.

The people of The Commonwealth of Rochehaut, hereby represented by myself, the 5th President of The Commonwealth, hereby commit our full diplomatic support to our Akimonadi and reaffirms the Akimonadi request that all foreign forces acting in support of the fascist rebellious group cease hostilities and withdraw from New Heatheria post haste. You are deliberately and irresponsibly acting in support of a destabilizing regime, which has power as an aim in and out of itself.
We urge all parties to seize fire immediately and resort to diplomatic conflict resolution to find an alternative that satisfies, first and foremost, the needs of the New Heatherian people. Acting in support of this statement, all ties between Rochehaut and nations supporting this fascist movement are to be ceased, including, but not limited to diplomatic and trade ties.
Rochehaut will refrain, at this time, from pursuing military action against any combatants in this conflict, however, as members of the Coalition of Free and Democratic States, we will interpret any attack, physical or otherwise against The Republic and Commonwealth of Akimonad as a hostile act of war against The Commonwealth of Rochehaut. Beware that any such violation will be met in kind by the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth.
In closing, it is our wish that all parties see reason and refrain from causing any more bloodshed. While we agree that the scourge of fascism and its byproducts ought to be eliminated from this Earth, we hold freedom of thought and ideas sacred. We cannot, however, support any kind of government change without the support of the people. The only legitimate way through which any such change can happen is by free and fair elections. If the fascists want to change their country they must do so in the polling stations, not by shooting their fellow countrymen and women on the streets.
Most sincerely,
Dielle DeGrasse
President
The Commonwealth of Rochehaut

Sirs,
We recognize your opposition to our so-called "destabilization" of the island of New Heathera.
However, we must say, this is no imperialistic or opportunistic venture. We honestly and wholeheartedly believe that a Fascist government in New Heathera will contribute in the long run to the stability, order, general welfare of this land and it's people.
We are not the evil, militaristic warmongers it seems you believe we are. This is a joint action of the Anti-Communism Alliance, of which we are a founding nation. We believe that if there is any possible route to turning a nation away from it's Leftist ways other than war, it should be taken. We would rejoice if it was possible to convert the Federal Republic of New Heathera from it's socialist regime into any other sort of system, whether it is democratic, monarchist, or fascist.
Sadly, this does not appear to be the case. Before any foreign nations had declared their support for or against the Fascist Party of New Heathera, the president of said nation began on a policy of oppression, stifling his people's civil and political freedoms.
The Fascist revolutionaries are doing their county an enormous favor - they are attempting to free their fellow man from Red Tyranny.
That, gentlemen, is our mission. We are not 'counter-revolutionary' nor even opposed to progress. It is the oppressive Leftist nations, intent on furthering their own selfish goals at the expense of the common man, the worker.
Fascism has not died, nor will it ever - it is a visionary ideology. More and more will come to it's banner - the proletariate of New Heathera already has. They are rising up against their leftist oppressors, who seek to impede progress and stop this change for the better.
You seek to keep in place the oppressive government kept in place only by executive and military power. We wish to give these people their wish - and their wish, gentlemen, is Fascism.
However, if there is any way we could resolve this conflict without shedding another drop of blood, we shall. We propose a meeting, carried out in a neutral nation - perhaps on the high seas, in international waters. We will leave it to you to decide the meeting time, place, etcetera - but we shall be there.
We pray most fervently for this mindless war to come to an end as soon as possible, as you proclaim to do. Please, take us up on our offer.
Sincerely,
His Imperial and Royal Highness, King of Prussia, His Majesty, German Emperor,

One by one every sniper found a target or group of targets. Corporal Conner gave the signal to fire. Every sniper aimed the rifle at their target. Corporal Moses aimed his directly at the radio officer. Fourteen rounds in the chamber and each sniper had one more more targets. The snipers started to open fire onto the nachfolgia soldiers.

unfortunately the squad the sergeant was ordering to retreat was squad 788 a squad of soldiers from the eastern island of Garboshia and to east islanders honor was held above everything else "you may be my nation's ally but you are not my C.O. and I have been ordered to throw a wrench into the Prussian forces here, so you can order me all you want but I will not abandon my task until it is completed, now fly the fuck out of here before the Prussians get their AA batteries up and shoot you down the moment you get into the air"

"All batteries, fire!"
A Deneagerin helicopter had flown right over the Prussian military base, without regard to the quite obvious anti-aircraft guns encircling the well-defended base.
Taking notice of the enemy aircrafts, the commanding officer of the AA division nearest the helicopter began ordering the men to direct their guns toward the target.
Already being on alert, they were able to train the missiles on it in the matter of a minute.
He had just ordered them to fire for the first time, as it took off from where the aircraft was hovering above the squad being massacred.
The missiles from ten anti-aircraft batteries flew, heading straight for the slowly ascending chopper.
In the training field, the Fascists seemed to have killed the entire squad that had rushed suicidally into the clearing .
"Resume stance!"
The group of revolutionaries stood up from their kneeling position. They held ther rifles across their chest, looking straight ahead without moving an inch. The German discipline had already been firmly ingrained into their minds.
"Forward, march!"
They began marching forward, following orders, without regard to fear or emotion. They had had all feelings beat out of them in these past several days, with constant training and strict order. As they approached the forest, only being about fifty yards away now, the squads still inside opened fire on them.
Their numbers had been reduced, many having gone down at the first defense. Now even more fell, possibly nine or ten in the first shots.
"First three lines, present arms! Fire!"
The men did as ordered. They shouldered their weapons calmly, steadily, in the face of machine gun fire. They squeezed their triggers, releasing an even larger hail of gunfire into the thickly wooded space.
The snipers were still in the trees, slowly picking off the men below. Fiester had gone down - he had shot enough of them for the enemy task force to ascertain his location, and shoot him from his hiding place.
Bauer didn't fire. He had just put in a new magazine - he wanted to make sure they were still unaware of his and Aachen's location.
They were moving now. The squad nearest Aachen was firing into the clearing. Aachen was most likely replacing his magazine - he hoped he wasn't being careless enough to bump a branch, or cause his boots to scratch the bark.
A few more seconds went by. He heard a shot, and then another. Three seconds went by, and then there was another shot. The gunfire from the woods was decreasing - the combined fury of three snipers and fifty armed soldiers was having an effect on the small squads.
Reichstag Building, Berlin
Generalfeldmarschal Clausewitz walked into the Kaiser's office after hulloing the pretty secretary.
"Sir, you have news?"
"Yes, Clausewitz, sit down." said the Kaiser without looking up from his book, motioning to the luxuriant leather chair in front of his desk.
The officer, dressed in his impressive blue general's uniform, sat down. He placed his cover on the arm of the chair and waited for his sovereign to speak.
Kaiser B.E. Steinbach sighed, closed his book and placed it upon the old wooden desk in front of him.
"Clausewitz, I did make the right decision in offering peace, did I not?"
"I believe you did, sir. It was a gentlemanly and very honorable thing to do. A humanitarian one as well, if I may add - you abhor the wasted spilling of blood, and are reluctant to do so when peace may be achieved by other means."
"Mmhhmm. Have any of the addresses nations responded?"
"Garborshia has, as you already know. None others."
"I do hope this turns out well."
"As do I."
"But we must depose the Reds from governance as soon as possible - it is quite obvious to see that the people want Fascism! Why must they impede progress, and the people's will?"
"That is indeed something I fail to understand, sir. They espouse democracy, the rise of the working man, the will of the people - but when the people want something other than Communism..."
"...they stomp out all resistance."
He sighed again. The stress of being an emperor was weighing on him once again after his brief respite to Achilleion, his summer home in Greece.
"How are the pro-fascist forces doing in New Heathera - specifically the ACA troops?"
"We have successfully established a military base close to the sea, and the Fascist revolutionaries are being trained as we speak. The airfield should be completed in the next day or two.
Nachfolgia has also successfully established a base of operations.
Undead Gypsies - the first to invade - seem to have temporarily stopped operations since the destruction of their airfield. Methinks they have begun to rethink their strategy.
I believe the Leftist governemt will topple soon enough, sire. The people will not stand for Red Tyranny but for so long."

Accustomed as I am to dealing with the Grand World Order, a nation not known for its propensity to negotiate, I was surprised by the rather sane and reasonable communique from Prussia-Steinbach. However, there are still some concerns that I would like to raise.
Firstly, I am somewhat suspicious because Prussia-Steinbach had initially entered the conflict without making an attempt at diplomacy. Instead, it has waited until now to consider the subject. I find this somewhat disingenuous, and am concerned that requests for peace may not be entirely sincere.
As a result, Akimonad shall only take part in negotiations on the condition that a ceasefire from all sides is immediately implemented. This will show just how genuine the Prussians' words are. Provided such action is immediately taken, I can give full assurance for Akimonadi support of negotiations.
Secondly, I am concerned that the nation of Prussia-Steinbach may be conflating Akimonad's (and other nations') support of freedom and democracy with support for communism. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Republic and Commonwealth is not friends of fascists nor communists. It would therefore be best, I think, to cease any unproductive propagandizing that serves only to demonize and distract from the humanitarian crisis unfolding before us.
Please consider our conditions and make the right decision.

Sir,
We wish to assure you, our offer is completely sincere. Honor in warfare is a thing that Germans, specifically Prussians, have always prided themselves on. If a ceasefire is agreed upon by all belligerents, we shall adhere to the laws of war and refrain from partaking in any sort of combat with the other nations involved in this conflict.
Also, we ask you refrain from making any disparaging remarks about the Grand World Order, which is one of our strongest allies. Though you have not as of yet, we wish to notify you that it would not be taken lightly.
We will put forth an offer of a ceasefire to all involved nations - if we are taken up on our offer, we shall conduct a meeting of peace.
We propose the location of this be the capital of the nation of focus, New Heathera.
We look forward to your, and all nations, response.
Sincerely,
His Royal and Imperial Highness, King of Prussia, His Majesty, German Emperor,
