The aide gulped as he turned the handle to the foreign minister's office. He walked in briskly, and stood at attention in front of the dark oak desk. Salutes were exchanged, and he began to speak rather hurriedly. "sir we have reports coming out of Karakistan, it appears several nations have labeled the country as fascist."

"no doubt 'socialist' countries like ourselves, what is it exactly they want?"

The aide loosened his collar "well, a there are several that have gone so far as to declare war, to install their own government."

The minister stopped fidgeting in his seat, going completely white. "get the premier and the defense minister on the phone. Now."

"Well why in gods name would they do that!?"' the defense minister had a way of speaking before thinking.

"it is simply a massive power play" premier Makarov muttered "they demonize the nation as fascist to get an excuse to put in a regime they can be sure will be loyal. This cannot be allowed. Put out a communique on the situation, and get boots on the ground."

Emperor Jonathan III, of the Opie dynasty, squirmed in his chair. He was tired, and wanted to sleep. It was going on midnight in the Earldom of Canin City, the capital of the Caninopian Empire. Yet here he was, stuck in the boredom of a meeting. Thankfully, it wasn't the full National Security Council that was assembled, just the big 8- himself, the Prime Minister, the Secretary of Defense, the Minister of Defense, the Secretary of State, the Minister of State, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Director of Central Intelligence (although the Private Secretary to the Emperor was also sitting in).

"Next order of business!" the Emperor called out. At that point, the DNI rose.

"Well sir, there is now a new regime in Karakistan. It seems, sir, that there is discontent from various small nations around the world, but the reactions we are seeing from most nations seems to be positive, even from the intelligence agencies." Then the Minister of State rose. "My political advice here for you, my Emperor, is that we assist them. While it is indeed a military coup, it was against a tyrant, and this new state hasn't done anything bad yet. My career colleague may disagree with me," he said, pointing to his immediate superior, the Secretary of State, "but I feel that recognizing them is the best thing we can do politically."

John glanced over to the two civilian commanders of the military, the third major component of the triad that led Caninopian national security and foreign policy. "Thoughts, concerns, comments gentlemen? I see that you're being awfully quiet." The two men looked at each other, and said a few words, before the Secretary of Defense looked up.

"We have nothing to add, except that we should deploy forces to a nearby colony in case things go south." The Emperor laughed. "You guys always say that. Well, that seems to be the last of it. Considering the consensus here, we will recognize the new nation. And just to please Robby over there," the Emperor said, pointing to the Minister of Defense as he waved his hands high, "We'll put a few ships out in the area. We've got more than enough to do some monitoring. Anyways, Prime Minister Spencer, could you please announce to the Congress our recognition of the new country?"

Then the Emperor stood up. "With that fellows, I need a midnight snack, a shower, and sleep. Meeting adjourned."

And so, the next day it was announced publicly as a communique was sent, that Caninope officially recognized the new nation of Karakistan.

Reports claim they are sending an invasion force to take over the country. We have also heard reports of another large power, Buddha C, has launched Biological ICBM's at the recovering nation. These injustices, are un acceptable. I propose this." The screen behind him, which had been a running a slide show the whole time, showed a map of Buddha C now, as the Emperor stated his plan. "We will activate the WMD satellites in space, and fire a salvo of EMP's to disable this otherwise un tamed beast. This will prevent them from taking any further action for some two weeks. As for Sassina's invasion, satellite images show they have also fired ICBM's at the nation. We do not yet know if these are nuclear or not, but if they are, we will retaliate before they hit us. As we speak, the entire SDI defense system which protects the entire nation, is being activated. This will shield us from nearly any attack they send. I further call for an invasion of the nation, to hold off the warmongering Empires which seek to annex it, and re-install the previous government. Thankfully for all of you, this going to be the shortest meeting ever, you will simply vote now on possible nuclear retaliation, and on the plans of invading the country. If the country is restored, and the belligerent Empires continue to fight, we shall deal with them. By force. That is all." The Emperor left the building, with Jakul and two dozen Varangian Guardsmen following him. He would now proceed to yet another meeting, a war council.

The King himself walked to the podium. He clicked on his microphone. Instantly his face appeared on all the television sets of Opiachus.

"Good evening ladies, children, and gentlemen. I hope you are all eating a hale and hearty meal at the dinner table" he began, "I have some great news to distribute. Karakistan was liberated by a military coup last week. Unfortunately some nations think it is ok to attack Karakistan, an innocent socialist nation like ours. Opiachus recognizes the new government of Karakistan and commends the humanitarian responsibilities taken by the new goverment including the distribution of food, water, and medicine."

"Opiachus is willing to help by shipping convoys of canned goods from our strategic reserve as well as surplus petroleum and biofuels."

“Attention all fighter personnel, scramble immediately! Strategic bombers approaching from the west!” an officer shouted of the public address system of the airbase which was located around eight kilometres inland from the shoreline. From the route which the bombers had been moving on the radar it was predicted that they would not strike a military target, but a town full of innocent civilians. The base was home to three squadrons: an attack squadron of Su-17s, a fighter squadron of MiG-17s and an elite National Guard squadron of MiG-21s. Personnel of the two latter squadrons rushed across the tarmac to their aircraft and the ground crews completed mounting K-13 air to air missiles under the wings, they were not the most advanced weapons in the world would have to do.

The cruise missiles fired by Sprska-Krajina struck the airbase after sixteen MiG-21s and eleven MiG-17s had taken off, most of the fighter and attack planes still on the ground were either destroyed or damaged. Another helicopter had been sent to the airport with Colonel Mohammad Daivari, back from aid missions to the eastern villages, on board to pick up Secretary of State James Devlin. As the Mi-17 touched down he shouted over the noise of the rotors to the delegation “Welcome to Karakistan!”

The delegation from Saint Alexander was taken to the National Assembly Building where General Bahram Ghaderi was waiting in his office. As they walked in he stood up from his chair and extended his hand over the oak desk while saying “Welcome to the nation of Karakistan.” A diplomatic meeting would be far easier to handle than the several declarations of war which had been received over the past few days.

Your declaration of war against our nation is entirely misguided and endangers thousands of Karak lives. I implore you to end hostilities immediately before many innocent people are killed. How you consider our successful military coup as fascist is beyond me, our efforts liberated the Karak people from years of oppression and suffering under the regime of President Rashidi.

However, if you can still provide military assistance as well as irrigation equipment then it would be greatly appreciated. Hearing this wonderful news, General Rudolf Lugas quickly sends 200.000 soldiers and 7 supply convoy to Karakistan via sea. But on the same time, he ordered The Cyborgs Squad to infiltrate Karakistan to protect General Bahram Ghaderi.

"They must be aware, General," said Advisor Maymor Karatnov. "We must support Karakistan with army if General want Ghaderi stays at power."
"I know, but if we direct ahead, what the world will say. We have maintain the alliances with Westerners and Easterners. I fear, if Westerners know, they will invade us and I don't want the people die just because of this Karakistan cause." Rudolf said at last.

Maymor nods and go into his mansion in South New Tangerang, then he called the Chief of PRAA Intelligence Division, Mr Gabriel Stark.

"What the---? A troops? How come? How come they jammed our devices?" said Mr Gabriel Stark.

You understand the amount of energy required to sustain a grid that protects your entire nation, would be absolutely ridiculous.
