Over the remainder of June and July, the front somewhat stabilized. The Keinsteinem front, still 25 miles from the city center, had stalemated with both sides trying and failing to take land from each other. At least the city was out of danger. Elsewhere though, it wasn't so solid. The sides of the enemy sailent in Lanos had expanded at high cost on either side and it seemed the Luziycans were here for the long haul. Somewhere in the tens of thousands were dead and it appeared the number would get higher. All the while, Supreme Command had plans to force this to end by grinding them down and then doing a massive encirclement of the sailent to cut a part of it off. It was guaranteed to work if the enemy was weakened further.

A squadron of B-3 Stealthfortresses, two squadrons of F-22s, one of A-20 Razorbacks, and a few of the new B-37 Super Stealthfortress (of the size of a B-52 but stealthy) were overhead going to do a bombing run. Against the enemy installations. Sure to cause hell, no? Let's go down and give it to them. The bombers proceeded into a bombing formation while the fighters moved to protect both the bombers and the A-20s making the ground attacks. It was textbook. The A-20s proceeded to attack whatever they could see moving and destroying buildings and docking ships while the bombers took to dropping their 500lb. bombs straight onto the installations. It was a cakewalk for the first 10 minutes until...shit, bogies closing! Bug out!

Indeed, around 178,549 of the new soldiers died, and Wilsonshire was significantly damaged. The new General, Abraham Smith, was also killed. Thus, Central Command finally appointed the Third General of the State of Lanos, Lafayette Johnson, with Lanosian-Luziycan roots, but he was ordered to govern the State of Lanos from its new embassy in Bethlehem. By that point, the people not in the military within the State of Lanos, were actually ordered to leave to "refugee centers" where they would live "temporarily" until the war ended.

In regards to the Amswell Massacre, a video by a troop watching from a window was uploaded onto Luziycan News 24, and it saw a significant rise in patriotic fervor, providing "proof" of genocide by Marina Aruthyan. Locals were eager now to support the war, for now at least.

S. Howard: A terrorist attack has been reported at a branch of the Luziycan "Lutheran Catholic" Church in Portslade, Pseudopolis. The church, which doubles as a community centre, was hosting a meeting for the local Luziycan community regarding how they should respond to the war in Lanos, when a gunman entered the building at five past eight and open fired on them. Police arrived three minutes later, at which point the gunman surrendered and was taken into custody. The gunman identified himself as Peter Haras and said he came from the island of Elbania. He claimed he targetted ethnic Luziycans deliberately because he blamed them for the Elbanian regime and the recent invasion and war crimes in Lanos. The police report that at least 25 people were killed.

P. Jackson: In a summit with the President of the Republic of Lanos, Defence Minister Robert Michaelson pledged to allow ArghNeedANamic airbases to be used for Lanos's strategic bombing campaigns against Luziyca.

Over the skies of Bethlehem, Luziyca

Elements of the 3rd Air Force, Strategic Air Command, and the 4th, Air Combat Command, had its orders and were proceeding to commence Operation Divine Strike, the strategic bombing campaign against Luziyca. These elements, focusing on bombing enemy industrial targets and military bases, were overhead in the stealth aircraft that had made their marks or debuts during the bombing of Wilsonshire. Now they had their first real over-enemy territory mission to try their skills. The bases back in ANAN were perfect for striking back. The refueling planes, assigned to both SAC and ACC, were out of enemy fire and guarded by F-22s for the return trip home. Now it was time for the B-3s, B-37s, A-20s, F-22s, and F-35s to do their work on this first crucial mission. Almost like clockwork, the formation of bombers and fighters veered off into their respective mission formations. The ground-attack F-35s and A-20s closed in on military and government targets under fighter guard while the bombers, with fighter protection, went to work on centers of industry and bases after the ground-attack planes did their jobs. The planes got to their destructive work, first with the bombers beginning to bomb the industrial parts of Bethlehem and then with the ground-attack planes attacking the bases and the important government buildings. The planes went about their missions with ease but not without taking fire and losses; 6 of the A-20s, 3 of the F-35s, and 9 of the F-22s were lost while none of the B-3s or B-37s were lost. It was, though, still a great success since they had taken out most of their objectives. This would be the first, of many, missions against Luziyca and it would keep up until the end of the war.

They set upon this fleet with the fury of a well-coordinated training mission but with real bombs and real targets. This part of the strategic campaign would keep up until the enemy stopped sending ships.

As the fleet approached the coast, it was more and more obvious that it was a war zone. The ANS Diplomacy's deck was buzzing with activity. F-35 Lightnings and B-2 Spirits were getting prepared on the deck and Apache and Sea King helicopters were getting fueled for a strike. Operation Advancing Democracy was launched...

23 hectares of the Western Industrial Park were destroyed, killing 3,194 soldiers and 12,185 workers. Meanwhile, back near the fleet, they immediately destroyed most of the fleet, save for 4 ships, which promptly used Surface-to-Air missiles targeted to the planes from Lanos. In any case, morale was tumbling rather quick, and so was the State of Lanos.

''Indeed, madam high chancellor'' one of the generals responded. ''..and I have a proposal to make. Several nations have already declared war on Luziyca. We could do so too. Declaring war might be the best option, as Luziycans power projecting capability has been effectively wiped out. We've get the eleventh and sixteenth fleets stationed in the Gulf of Arazei and Arctic Sea respectively.''

''That's a wonderful idea, Christopher!'' Lyra cheered. ''What would be an adequate scale for such an attack?''

''For now, I believe that airstrikes and limited amphibious attacks would be more tha enough.'' the general responded. ''We've got two fleets and other assorted vessels near Luziyca. They could easily launch the attack.''

Lyra fell silent for a moment, obviously having a small inner battle in her head. Finally she responded joyfully. ''Well, sounds good to me! Prepare the Marines onboard both fleets and prepare send more fleets and reinforcements to the area.''

It was a calm day on the HNS Tropic of Capricorn. It was a part of the Eleventh Fleet, and its duty was to patrol the area around Luziyca. Accompanying the HNS Tropic of Capricorn were an aircraft carrier, two amphibious assault ships and several cruisers, destroyers and frigates. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.. Yet.

''Sir, we've got an authorization to launch Tomahawks at Luziyca!''. The words echoed in the command room. Launch tomahawks. Nice.

Captain of the HNS Tropic of Capricorn, colonel Ryan Tappahannock was fairly flabbergasted about the new orders. The orders had come from HNS Marianna, Merina class aircraft carrier which was the lead ship of the Eleventh Fleet, which in turn had recieved its orders from the Naval High Command, which in turn had gotten the order from Lyra and the National Defense Council. Apparently, HNS Tropic of Capricorn wasn't the only vessel that had recieved orders. Aircraft were being readied onboard the HNS Marianna, Marines were preparing for an amphibious assault from HNS Carla and HNS Tia, and HNS Velaine-en-Haye, HNS Westenra, HNS October 19th and HNS Walther A. Petersen had already launched their missiles

And so, fifteen Tomahawk missiles, each equipped with a 450 kg conventional charge rose from the vertical launch systems of the ship. They rose up majestically and levelled off, heading towards major armed forces facilites and SAM sites located on the coast.

Indeed, the tomahawk missiles were shot down, save for four, which hit the targets. As such, it had killed 419 people in the area, of which 378 were part of the Luziycan Armed Forces, and the remainder were civilians. Only the SAM sites were destroyed, in the attacks by Hippostania. In any case, Coffee now had a plan to try and gain support from the CoPs...

Despite that, Coffee named a new "acting vice-President" which was a fellow pony, none other than Dippy, the pony that was the voice that proposed her wishes as law, and to which she always approves of these very bills.

Back in the State of Lanos, an elaborate trench network on the 25-mile line was being formed by the Luziycans, since the area was now in a stalemate situation. Eleventh Fleet, Gulf of Arazei

In the situation room of the HNS Velaine-en-Haye, a Carlisle class guided missile cruiser, the atmosphere was tense. The sailors followed the missiles from a screen. One by one, the blip disappeared shortly before they hit land. ''They have strong AA in there'' someone noted. However, four missiles kept creeping towards the land. And one by one, they got the SAM sites that had to be destroyed before the landings could begin. The room erupted in laughter and applause as the last missile hit its intended target.

''It's not over yet, soldiers!'' one of the officers shouted, and a deep silence fell in the room once again. ''We've still got missiles left, and with no anti-air defenses, they're guaranteed to hit their targets. Let's get those missiles moving!''

With the Luziycan SAM sites disabled, the Hippostanian guided missile cruisers and destroyers kept launching missiles towards the mainland at short but steady pace. Locations that were targeted included military installations and large concentrations of enemy troops, armor and equipment, including army bases and supply depots, and vital infastructure such as radio masts. Over a period of around one hour, several ships launched over 80 Tomahawk missiles at the mainland.

At a similar, slow but steady space, aircraft took off from Merina class aircraft carrier HNS Marianna. These aircraft were equipped with both air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, and their task was to soften the defenses of the area so the amphibious task force could start the landings. As the aircraft were in sight of Luziyca, a part of the aircraft launched their air-to-surface missiles at the Luziycan troops and infastructure below. Some planes circled in the air, patrolling for enemy aircraft, while a few aircraft did strafing runs with the help of their M61 Vulcan gatling gun.

Onboard the Amanda-class amphibious assault vehicles HNS Carla and HNS Tia, the marines were preparing their LCAC's. Their estimated landing zone was to be a quiet beach, clear of any noticeable enemy activity. AAV-7A1 and AV10 Antelope Amphibious Assault Vehicles, capable of crossing the waters on their own were also launched to give the infantry some ground support.

So, the LCAC's left the comfort of the well decks of their respective ships, filled with armored vehicles and infantry, heading towards the shores of Luziyca.

Lyra watched the progress of the operation, which as of yet, did not have an official name from the underground command bunker, accompanied by the members of the National Defense Council. ''Sooo, it has begun, am I correct? she asked and looked back at the members of the NDC, sitting around a long oak table.

''That is correct, madam high chancellor'' one of the generals responded. ''The eleventh fleet got their SAM sites and our amphibious assault teams are on Luziycan soil within the next few minutes.''

''And the sixteenth fleet?'' Lyra asked

''Starting their operations within a few hours''

''That's nice, that's nice'' Lyra responded, looked back at the screen showing the locations of the eleventh and sixteenth fleets and grinned. Oh, this was going to be just wonderful. Just wonderful.

The declaration of war was promptly followed by missile attacks on Luziyca by the Hippostanian navy, which disabled Luziycan SAM sites. The Republic of Ainin, which has been shaken by a massive terrorist attack orchestrated by the Luziycan government, and YellowApple have also joined the war.

P. Jackson: The ArghNeedANamic government welcomed Ainin's arrival, with the President calling it a "courageous decision to enter the fight against the evils of fascism and terrorism". Although Hippostanian High Chancellor Lyra has been criticised by the government of ArghNeedAName for authoritarianism, their declaration of war was also welcomed.

P. Jackson: Thousands of Luziycan civillians have been killed by Lanosian airstrikes, which targetted navy bases and the western industrial areas of the city of Bethlehem. Defence Minister Robert Michaelson said that Lanos did not breach the guidlines ArghNeedAName recommended for strategic bombing. Two ArghNeedANamic airbases - Dalwich and Pulson - were used by the Lanosian air force during the operation.

S. Howard: Meanwhile, Peter Haras appeared at the Portslade Magistrates Court at a preliminary hearing for his trial for the shooting 32 Luziycan-ArghNeedANamers at a local branch of the Luziycan Church. Haras, aged 50, was unrepentant.

" I do not want to be late in our show of force. Send the 9th fleet, they'll be desiring some action after their humanitarian missions. and the 7th Junk Fleet for our landing force 10 divisions should be plenty as part of an international mission. The Luziycans will be reeling from their defeats in Lanos so taking ground shouldn't be too difficult. The problem will be in getting our troops to land in sufficient numbers to hold it once taken. Also, have green crosses painted on all of our stuff. It should remind them of the Vorradian reformation. Or at the very least put us in the rehabilitating mindset." Operation Divine Strike, the bombing of Luziyca and its reinforcement ships, had gone on for about a month or so. The Lanosians sent off the invasion fleet to capture the capital and the nation 2 weeks ago ready to do just that. The 1st Army, the 41st Army, and the 21st Army, recovered completely and replaced from the battle in Lanos, would be exacting its revenge on the enemy on the battlefield by taking the enemy capital. Going with them would be the 1st Fleet, 2nd Fleet, the 1st Air Force (Air Combat Command), the 1st and 2nd Field Marine Forces, and other supportive units (totaling over 1 million) with the promise of 500,000 more soldiers to come if needed. The Firsts of the Lanos Armed Forces going along...you must have screwed up really bad to invoke their wrath. At the same time, though, it was finally going to come to fruition. Operation Mindfuck, the operation to devastate the enemy salient and cut it in half had begun in the mainland. The massive operation involved the 2nd Army, 3rd Army, and the 18th Army (500k), as well as the Field Marine Forces already doing the holding-off work (500k). 1 million Lanosians with support that the Luziycans wished they had...you know what will happen. They started at 3:00 AM with heavy artillery and airstrikes before commencing to cut off the salient in the middle of it, now at least 50 miles from the capital's center, and aimed to make a 25 mile gap between the ocean and the leading edges of the salient. They did just what Southern Command expected and cut the predicted swath and brushed aside enemy attempts to close the gap. The upper hand had been dealt. Lanos now had the freedom to pound the trapped forces without worrying about them being resupplied. They now went to pounding on the salient that was still connected to the ocean, slowly pushing it back until they surrendered or were forced back into the ocean.

Off the shores of Luziyca

The impressive invasion force, now all together, had been waiting for this moment. Operation Divine Intervention, the invasion of Luziyca, started at this moment with missile firings, battleship firings from the Washington-class Super Battleships, and airstrikes upon the invasion beach zones. The 1st, 21st, and 41st Armies with the Field Marine Forces, all 600k of them, were in thousands of massive amphibious landing craft and tens of thousands of other craft heading for the beaches under heavy fighter and ship cover. They were all battle-ready with their equipment and they knew what they had to do. The landing craft beached and the ships began to offer their weapons to assist the landing forces.

30 seconds! Prepare to rush! The men on the various craft heard this command and braced for the ramps to come down.
Ramps going! The ramps began to open and they all fell with a thunderous THUD! At that moment, hundreds of thousands of Lanosian soldiers and marines went head-on into Luziycan territory to return the favor. Another division of the 21st, an air assault division, was making its landing from several small carriers behind the lines and linking up with the Lanosian units when they overran enemy positions and began to wreck those as well. D-Day was happening. Bethlehem would be the main goal of the Lanosians. While they may not have been the first to land in Luziyca, they would do their best to get there and take it.

It was almost over in Lanos. Kasten had now come to Luziyca.

The denizens of Lower Embark Republic were rudely awakened on this fine early morning by a series of massive deep rumbling noises, which came from several hundreds of sleek LY589 Hellion missiles shooting over their heads and headed for local military installations. Unknown to them, an entire battlegroup of the Imperial and Royal War Navy, spanning several dozens of kilometres had formed up over the horizon. Ordered in a circular protective formation, with the rapid cruisers and destroyers out front and support vessels, carriers and heavy fleet units at the centre, it was quite a magnificent sight. At exactly 0500 hours, with the preliminary air raids and bombardment completed, the tanks of the Guards Cuirassier Brigade arrived on the beach on hundreds of landing crafts utility. It was on, Operation Austerlitz was on.
