Oh, What a Fine Day.... (MWS RPG Only, FT)

Postby Dolmhold » Thu May 31, 2012 5:00 pm

This post will probably be expanded on... Small intro isn't so good, although it is supposed to be the general thread.

The Milky Way galaxy. It seems to calm, yet that is far from the truth.

As interstellar nations loose sight of the devastating invasion at the Milky Way by extragalactic entities, as that history is lost in the seas of history, down the deepest ravines, rivals now seeks to defeat each other while others ally and unite. A prominent alliance between the Dolmholdi Collective and the United Earth Federation of Planets seems to be making progress, but so are the rest of the nations. Minor wars, such as border wars, seem to be erupting more and more frequently, especially among the smaller nations, while superpowers jostle with threats increasingly often.

What make of this galaxy? It is up to your nation, and your people.

Dolmani System

"Uggg..." Victoria Chu moaned as woke up, eyes half open while she stared up into the somewhat curved and obviously slanted roof of her room, which was displaying the outside world where her eyes would've seen had there been no roof, in vivid colours which made no distinction between the real outside world and itself.

It was a bright new day on Dolmagon, the second moon of the tenth planet of the Dolmani system which received sunlight through the SAPL system itself. The sun, or rather the concentrated reflections of it, was shinning and providing life for the moon, a world about the size of Mars orbiting a gas giant.

"Something isn't quite right... was it something I ate or drank?" Victoria spoke to herself, wondering what had given her this stomach ache. She wanted to think about it before consciously running a diagnosis. She was a follower of the "Natural Practices", which dictated that consequences from abusing one's body should not be simply ignored and handwaved by technology, and instead, one should learn from the issues. It was joked about as being Amish, but many of the poets, artists, musicians and craftspeople in general followed it.

"It must have been that bird or-"

Only then did she realize why. She was sleeping on her tablet computer, and only then did she realize that her computer self ached as well. She was part biological and part machine, just like every other Dolmholdi citizen even if she was a follower of the Natural Practices. She invested that computer self into her little tablet computer, and so that computer was practically an extension of herself.

"Oops, silly me." She giggled.

Nothing was broken as she started the computer up set it on holographic mode with no issues. Dolmholdi equipment was redundant, and was capable of self-repair and self-upgrade. Add that in with high-quality materials that were widely used, and one can easily understand why no damage was done.

She accessed the news area, and began to check.

Successful Terraformation of A New Planet, Dolmelta.

Border War Escalates to Total War Between the Nations of Hanifi and Helinadim

Proposed Joint Military Exercise with the UEFP and Dolmhold

Biological Constructions Down to One Day

Remember to Back-Up Youself!

Peace Established Between...

And many other headlines were submitted by various people. Many of the headlines were about various issues, such as the wars, in the galaxy. It was a turbulent time, but she maintained her spirit. She was only three hundred years old, although she looked more like she was seventeen after all. She began to write a few more poems, songs and so forth, while planning to make a few sculptures afterwards. Another typical day.

--

"If we upgrade to do this, each second about 250 million kilograms or 250 000 tonnes of matter will be created per second, per system. The current issue with storing this as fuel for weapons system is that even if we store it as osmium and anti-osmium, it would consume 110 680 cubic kilometers to store it, and that's not even getting to the weapons part," Brian Chow stated across the cyberspace in a conference with other scientists, unencrypted. Everyone trusted each other like brothers and sisters in Dolmhold.

"What if we stored it as a singularity?" Vincent Ng asked.

"It would be much more compact, but also much more difficult to maintain seeing as it continually fires our energy." Brian explained.

"I think that that is the only way it'd work. The other method is just too space-greedy," Vincent replied.

"Well, sure. We'd have to have them as manned though, as any issue would spell doom," Brian replied.

The system was being constructed, and with it came Dolmhold's first "defense grid" that resembled other nation's. They were storing energy so that it could be used in a later date, in case of a war. Dolmhold wanted to be ready at all times, and this only spiked the preparation levels.

Changshi Prefecture #34
Selis Star System, Antares Sector
352.4245.2 (Terran Standard Time)

Ellie, as she was known by those outside of the Collective, was busy scanning over several documents (literally, that is). Her bionic eyes whirred gently as the gyroscopic stabilizers communicated with the integrated motor units, turning her eyes in perfect unison with the movement of the hands in front of her. The pages flipped at an astonishing rate, and the several millenia old characters were digitally recorded. The sub-processes being maintained by the central processing unit installed in her head were working in harmony, creating a greater action with flawless performance.

The information which entered Ellie's head raced along biological and electrical circuitry, before being uploaded to the Planet Mind. Satisfied with her work, she left the archives.

The book, according to available lingual data, was titled Brave New World.

---------------------------

The white walls of the room were bare. That did not matter though, as there were no lights. The steady beating of theta binaural beats drowned out any distracting sounds, and a steady silence was present.

The crowd was seated in a circle, and was currently engaged in a lightning fast discussion. Group Mind was discussing recent events in nearby star systems with itself. The entire conversation took no spoken form. Only the firing of neurons and on-off states of logic gates hinted at any communication.

We must increase metals extraction in the Helenus System. If geopolitical situations deteriorate, we may be dragged into an unwanted conflict.

No. While defense should be boosted, we must go about this in a more diplomatic measure. Has Overmind reached a consensus on the matter?

No. We are waiting for complete consensus from fringe systems, ourselves included.

Heuristics programs are indicating a drop in data mining from Antares System. Current report from Antares Link Station is suggesting a lack of material incentive for foreign data transfer. Overmind is transferring our orbital fleet to Antares. Furthermore, an artificially induced warping of the Manifold has been detected by deep space sensors. We are sending a capital ship toward the detected singularity.

Consensus has been reached.

----------------------------
Changshi Orbit

The massive, ancient vessel turned slowly, maneuvering itself into a comfortable position. All the systems of the ship had been integrated with its inhabitants, and there was no distinction between flesh and metal. It was one entity.

Gently cutting through nothingness, a chain reaction in the nuclear engines occurred, and the craft accelerated toward the Dolmani System.

The Mayor of Buffalo walked to his office on the 64th floor of Buffalo's city hall and then proceeded to sit down in his chair while pressing on the Holographic keyboard of his Desk Display that connected him to the daily status reports of the UEFP.

Status Report!

Flat-Space dimensional compression Technology has been created

Discovery, Nexus, and Neo class starships are currently undergoing construction to replace the aging Federation Fleet

Scientists are testing there prototypes of Organic Nanites

Buffalo is hosting the Grand Ball Tonight

Just then the Mayor's daughter burst into his office and is hysterical about what dress she wants to wear for the Grand Ball. The Mayor was utterly confused on the subject and told her she should ask her friends about that. Then an idea came to the Mayor, Why not invite the Dolmholdi people who are visiting my beautiful city, to our Grand Ball? I am sure they would love that? The Mayor then communiqued his secretary to invite them to the Grand Ball. He then proceeded to get ready and put on his party clothes and then his formal suit. His secretary then invited the Dolmholdi people to the Grand Ball.

OOC: I'm going to assume that you had to use FTL somewhere, as Dolmani is in the center of all my core systems...

Dolmani System

"A ship traveling at massive speeds as indicated by the blueshift has been detected coming our way. It is not of Dolmholdi orgin, and external systems have not detected it." Jacob Ming's voice boomed across the Dolmholdi cyberspace to all concerned with defense.

"Hail the ship, and ask about its reasons," Hal Zhou replied near instantly.

Code: Select all
Welcome to Dolmani System, Dolmhold. Please state your intentions and reasons for coming here.

The Dolmani system was a large one, with over thirteen planets spanning a relatively vast area. The system did not appear to have as much activity as would be expected of a core system, as transferring materials between planets was rare and done by wormholes. There were research facilities buried in the asteroids scattered about, and each solid world was very evidently terraformed, even the moons given that they were spherical. The one thing that stood out the most was the evident construction of many orbital platforms, and the existance of Solar Array Pumped Laser system, powered by pure sunlight, which was generating an immense amount of matter and antimatter per second. Robotic drones were very evidently the construction devices, and a lone manned starfighter, over fifty meters long, was near the construction site. Everything was being constructed rapidly, and they'd already switched construction sites.

Jacob Ming was the last Prinicpal of the Republic of Dolmhold, whom helped ensure that the transition to the collective was smooth and flawless. He was lost shortly after the attack from the Xinii, but his data was rediscovered some time in the past. His son, Dan, was the opposite of him in many ways. He himself was rather cold, deliberate and calculating. And if that ship did anything stupid like attack anything, he'd be more then ready to blow it up to bits.

TCS (Terran Collective Ship) Icarus
Approaching Dolmani System
352.4245.2 (Terran Standard Time)

The ship had begun to slow as it approached the system. The craft itself was quite large, and about a mile in area. It was shaped like a semi-circle, and the dark grey metal of its hull seemed to absorb light. A pale blue emanated from two large thrusters on the back, and had a smoky quality. Trenches and towers rose around the craft, giving it a scarred look.

The array of sensors, scanners, and detectors all began a massive, intelligence-gathering operation upon entering the system. The optical sensors agreed that the local civilization was quite advanced. Of the multitude of planets in the system, all had been terraformed to a great extent. Even the moons had evidence of being touched by intelligent hands...or tentacles.

Local species is space-faring. Images of orbital platforms being uploaded now. Over mind is not present. Group mind must represent Collective on behalf of the whole.

Not simply space faring, but local civilization has mastered nanotechnology, as shown by construction of solar panels for unidentified device...Universal Constructor...device is capable of producing antimatter. The local group has developed a sophisticated understanding of Particle Physics.

Robotic drones... Local group has moved past analog computing and has embraced digital technology. Artificial Intelligence...

Lack of interplanetary trade or transferal of resources. Sensors indicate disruption of Manifold present in many areas. Possible wormhole technology? Societal information is lacking.

Incoming transmission. Patching into network now.

Group Mind was somewhat perplexed. The language was...familiar. It seemed like a distant memory, a system once used by colonists to communicate before the Joining occurred.

Digital message reveals writing is character based...current data shows a 67% match with Old-Talk archives. Perhaps local group is also Human in origin? East Asian writing system. Deviation due to divergent evolution of languages as a result of spacial separation.

Auditory message reveals tone-based language. Confirmation of similar family tree for language. Attempting use of 'Mandarin Chinese' for response.

The attached data's briefness really wasn't that brief, it would shake up a language scholar if they were a normal human without enhancements. Still, the key points were highlighted.

Words were represented in a charactor format, but there was a certain alphabet to it. Each figure in the charector made a certain sound, and the letters would basically go by the outside box, followed by the top right side, the top left, bottom right and bottom left, or something to that effect. Tones were more of a part of the word itself created by the alphabet. The original writing system for this was based off traditional Chinese script, but now it had been slightly modified on some parts. The original system was meant to incorporate an alphabet system into the Chinese language with the least amount of modification to the language itself. Seeing as many words already somewhat followed that way, it was easy.

In the mean time, construction was going quick as they rapidly built those systems and moved on to work on another, and black holes were commonly and often used for energy storage. Other systems were being built too, including many for a missile system. The missiles themselves gave away some data on how each one worked. Many were simply antimatter-matter missiles, designed to irradiate an area and/or take down enemy shields. Many others were designed to use matter-antimatter to cause a massive and powerful EMP, and yet another used the matter-antimatter as an explosive fuel source to rapidly heat up water into steam and blast a projectile to immense velocities. Other data about the missiles was not so visible, but this much was evident.

An increase in orbital activity around planets was also seen as the non-rocket space launch systems, called startrams as they were maglev-based, launched people up with pods that had electronic viewing devices to look at the new spacecraft. Data was also being streamed live across the entire nation, and there was a debate going on if military spacecraft should be brought out just in case. It was struck down thus-far, but due to the quick mobilization times of Dolmholdi spaces, they could be there at any time they wished.

Dolmholdi Cyberspace

"There is an invitation from our ally, the UEFP, to go to this cultural ball!" A girl, Victoria, pointed out with glee.

"Technically, the mayor of the city of Buffalo in the UEFP," Stephen Yu replied.

"On don't be such a nitpicker," Victoria countered playfully.

"We will be using the demarchacy and appointment method to pick. Please enter your names if you wish to go. Each boy may pick one girl to go with them, and vise verse. That is only if your name is called, and if you are already picked you can not pick," A voice boomed authoritatively, but kindly.

Victoria put her name in in a heartbeat.

"The name input is now closed, we are now using the seed 924204352084284 to draw names. Please wait..."

Victoria waited in suspense while the names were being drawn.

"Brian Mao."

"Stephanie Chow."

"Arthur Yao."

"Vincent Ali."

"Susan Von."

She was getting really tense now, as she wanted to go.

"Victoria Chu."

"YES!!!!!!" She screamed happily, as if she won a lottery. Well, this was a lottery, only that it wasn't a cash reward. Not that cash and money mattered in Dolmhold anyways, they were confined to the realm of games, seeing as it was an outdated and obsolete system.

"I'll choose... you!" Victoria pointed happily and jumped up and down with joy at Stephen. They were good friends, and many believed that if they wanted to marry someone, they'd marry each other.

"Me? Well, as you wish Victoria," Stephen replied, a smile on his face.

The group of twelve began to prepare to get to the UEFP. In order to get there quick enough, it was asked if a wormhole could be opened to there, or rather nine wormholes seeing as most of them were on different planets.

The vessel's engines slowly warmed up, sending low frequency pulses throughout the ship. The steady vibrations could be felt in every nook and corner. The blue smoke began to pour out of the engines like a ghostly vapor. The ship turned, and calculated a trajectory for orbit around the local star.

Is lack of interest due to conquering of materials requirements, or result of post capital-based society? Such questions will be necessary for greater understanding of civilization, and eventual diplomatic maneuvering.

Language files have been added to Ship Mind. We will begin annotation and development of archives shortly.

As for your earlier questions, we are a faction known as the Terran Collective. It is due to our nature, which is more or less a decentralized group consciousness. We had detected a singularity which our data indicated to have been artificially induced, as no objects of enough critical mass were present in this area. While we are pleased to make your acquaintance, we will require proper authorization to represent our group. We hope we did not alarm you.

Roughly a few seconds after the message was sent, a much smaller vessel emerged from the capital ship. Its architecture was much older, and featured distinctly Human interpretations of design, such as the spear-shaped layout of the craft. Only a hunter-gatherer society would design something in the shape of a spear or arrow, and in a complete vacuum it did not add any immediate benefits.

The small craft, lacking a powerful enough energy source, had to use its archaic ion drive to propel itself. Once it reached a high enough speed, it could activate the rather shoddy FTL drive which had been recently installed.

Gar Akaru Observation Platform GA 26

Most normal men would consider a one-month rotation on an observation platform the worst spot in the military. Jacob Turner, however, thought it was fascinating. Being on the forefront of his nation's military, looking out into the vast emptiness of space, and watching the strange dance of stars, planets, and nebulae. If there was more then 10 cubic meters of the platform under life support, he would be downright cozy.

His crew, however, were tired and overworked. After getting a message from another platform that a large ship had reached FTL in the vicinity of the Selis System, his platform had been on constant watch, being on the most probable course it would take.

As their search passed the sixteenth hour, several had collapsed, and the rest were running on only fumes and stimulant patches, with only murmuring thoughts in their head for company. The platform was prohibited from accessing the outside network, and all of them were too preoccupied to start a neural conversation. So the murmuring thoughts in their head were the only company they had for the long search.

Turner, however, was in his element. Constantly running the new data from the platform's sensor array through his head, he could have gone on until his body collapsed from exhaustion. Despite this, he was almost ready to call off the search, due to the strict regulations put in place after an officer had gone insane a few years back.

"Sir! A large ship, travelling at incredible speeds, has just entered the Dolmani System!" one of his ensigns cried out. Not vocally, the bulky environmental suits prohibited that. But rather through the platform's network, so all of them could hear it.

"What is it? A Dolmholdi Ship?" Turner asked back.

"No. It has no visible registration, nor does it match any known ship design. I also do not detect any life signs, or outstanding electrical impulses, but the size of it is equivalent to a UEFP capitol ship."

Interesting. A ship not crewed by organics, or an A.I., Turner thought to himself. "All of you, get some rest, I'll report this," he told his crew. As the waddled towards the airlock, he began composing a message to the Minister of Defence.

--------------------

Minister of Defense's office, Gar Akaru

"Minister, there is a message from observation platform GA 26. It is marked as "Your eyes only," her secretary said over the Ministry's network.

The Minister's initial rage was dropped, but to be replaced by suspicion. If this was a joke, she wants Turner's head on her desk by yesterday. "Send it through," she ordered. The message displayed in her eye was not one relating to the current news concerning the border wars or the UEFP ball, but something more ominous.

High Priority: Minister's Eyes Only
At 14:00 Hours Akruvian Time, a ship, travelling at incredible speeds, entered the Dolmani System. This vessel has no visible registration or comparable design to any known vessels. Further scans revealed no evidence of being crewed by organics or an A.I. Only conclusion possible is direct action against the Dolmholdi.

The Minister's eyes widened. If this was true, this could be her planet's first induction into interstellar affairs! "Prepare a message to the Dolmholdi," she ordered her secretary.

"Ready!" He replied.

"Yes, Ma'am!"
This message has been confirmed to have been sent by the Gar Akaru Ministry of Communications.

Dolmani System

Many watched quietly as they observed the ship lumber its way into a calculated orbital trajectory, while others discussed about this new civilization. They too called themselves a collective, was it possible that they also were connected to each other like Dolmholdi citizens were?

Others dissected the codes of their language in hopes that they could respond in their language. It didn''t take long with the collective power of many of the Dolmholdi citizens working in unison. Yet more others dissected their message. A reply came back in both the Dolmholdi Chinese language and theirs.

There are indeed quite a few singularities that have been artificially created in this system, all of the routes between the planets being one and the various orbital weapon systems being another, as black holes are being used as a power source. Same for our spacecraft, but only the manned ones. By any chance, is your collective a cybernated nation similar to ours?

Collective could've meant a socialist or communist government, or it could've meant a cybernated nation. It was yet to be determined.

Lexington Plaza, UEFP

As the groups stepped out of the wormhole and into the plaza, they quickly took note of their surroundings and began to dance and have fun accordingly. They enjoyed the UEFP's music, as it was different. They observed the marvelously constructed buildings, which had ancient yet beautiful architecture.

"Dolmhold Government:

"They must be new on the intergalactic stage," Chucked Jacob. Dolmhold's government was everyone who wished to particiapate and/or the collective consciousness of the people, there was no exact government.

"Yeah, we really don't have an exact government and our denonynm is Dolmholdi," Brian Zhou chucked.

"Well, how should we reply?" Christine Wong asked curiously.

"Decline for now, but tell them that we appreciate the offer, I guess," Dan Tan spoke up.

Unclaimed Space, 4 Light years from Sol System
OOC: I suppose that Adventus Secundus would be near or in the space of any power claiming Terra as its homeworld...feel free to OOC with me and figure this out...

"Videte! Adsunt!" The fear in the man's voice was mirrored in his expression, and the bridge exploded into desperate action. The pirates must have advanced sensor technology to be able to track their prey through so many wild FTL jumps.
The merchant vessel was sleek for a Protectorate spacecraft, with four powerful ion plasma engines and the most advanced FTL drives that money could buy. Its relatively diminutive size, however, Captain Marcus Salvatus realized, announced to the universe that its small hold carried low-volume, high value goods. Like impervaluminum.
A low-pitched thumping came shuddering through the bulkheads as the computer-controlled weapons turrets opened up. They would not penetrate the enemy hull. He had already tried that.

"Parate insilire!"* His voice, once trained to sing, still retained that quality that allowed it to cut through the chaotic clamor of voices. He, and his father who had started the merchant venture, ran a tight ship, but it was a far cry from the controlled precision of a Festina or a Fortis.

The woman at the FTL navigation console turned to look at him, blinking rapidly. "Q-quo?"

"Ubique."* Blind jumps were risky, but they had no choice. Space bent around them and the Tabellarius flashed out of existence.

"Prepare to jump!"
"Where?"
"Anywhere."

OOC: Maybe make first contact with the organizers of the ball? It would be amusing to have many well dressed people running around like chickens as warning messages flashed about an incoming vessel.

We are looking at a mirror image of ourselves!

The communications network onboard burst into activity. Electrical signals pulsed down the insulated, cooled plasma tubing and graphene filaments, revealing the excited state of the network.

Do we want to give away anymore information? We may be risking it...

We have just landed right in the middle of their faction's core. Next to their homeworld. I would say that we should be as friendly as possible.

We must avoid unpleasant miscommunication. Consensus has been reached

To answer in a short reply: yes. We have utilized advances in biology and computer science to further close the gap between human and machine, and between humans themselves. We have moved beyond the self of body, and have learned to embrace the self of Group. The Terran Collective advocates for complete equality and the liberation of society from the restraints of ancient, feudal systems. We are excited to hear that you have also reached such a state. But we detect a form of hierarchical organization in your society which we find foreign? What is your political system?

"Holy shoot, they are a near mirror of ourselves!" Jacob Ming remarked with tones of surprise as he analysed the data.

"Well, we can't be the only group whom chose this path. It just seems that there were none due to the fact that we've never met any quite like us," Samuel Hao replied with a thinking face on.

"They seem friendly enough, I believe that we can trust them," Steve Lin continued.

"Based off what they're saying though, they are most similar to our nation of a few centuries ago," Violet Yuang pointed out.

It is remarkable to find a near-twin nation in terms of politics in this world, especially since we couldn't find any even remotely similar for such a long time. We too have utilized advances in biology and machines to become a near infusion of the two, as one is but an extension of the other in our views. It is not quite visible upon first glance, as all one would see is the biological body, but the fusion is there.

We are not quite sure what you mean by moving past the self of body and self of group. Here in the Dolmholdi Collective, individuals are empowered to better the collective in whichever way they wish, and to better themselves and enjoy the world, preferably without chemical augments. We agree with liberating society from the restraints of old systems, but are not quite sure of your definition of complete equality. We have equality in Dolmhold, but are not quite sure of your meaning of equality, which sort of resembles the issues between idealologies some time in the past.

As for our politics: We are a participatory direct democracy in the closest comparison, with more emphasis on participatory. The hierarchy of which you might believe to exist is probably because some choose to participate whereas others prefer not to, or the time is inconveniant to because they happen to be in the middle of crafting a sculpture or something to that effect.

Anything else you'd like to ask about?

Unknown Location

Space waved back in to being, and the bridge once again exploded into activity.

"Pirates adsunt?" Marcus leaned over, peering at the sensor array. There were no openly hostile ships, but the planets in this system were incredibly familiar...

"Iupiter!" He exclaimed, pointing out the massive planet on the bridge viewscreen...then the sensor officer chimed in

"Nauarche, naves ignotes accedent."*

"Interdicete torres defensores."*

"Captain, unknown ships approach"
"stand down defensive turrets."

Local faction is correct in making jump from scarcity-based, capital allocation society to post-material collective. But logic failure inherent in avoidance of chemical augmentation. Greater transformation of individual to fit society thus limited.

不管白猫、黑猫,逮住老鼠就是好猫。

Fitting. Let us respond.

To stoop a moment from our high ideals and abstract values, we will clarify our language. Self of group is a term we use to describe the transition of how an individual views themselves. The transition of identity from the body to the group is the realization of the 'self of group,' and is a cornerstone of our society.

This is not to say that we are a hive mind. There is an undercurrent of Individualism, but our interpretation of a collective seems a bit more faceless than yours. We are not passing judgement on either form though, please do not take it that way. Whatever works is the best for a faction.

As for Equality. We interpret Life as a series of chemical reactions. Like the keys on a piano, they add up to make a beautiful song. But to neglect a single key will create a visible scar in the gentle vibrations. With society, true Harmony cannot be achieved unless struggle between groups is eliminated, whether they be racial, religious, or socio-economic. Once a full realization of each individuals talents is reached, so is a perfect society.

Groups which oppress another segment of society, and use that power to form hierarchical structures of government, are ideologies which we interpret as 'archaic.' While this applies to direct suppression of other segments of society, we also interpret indirect means as barbaric, although not as harshly. For example, societies with the ability to transition to a post-scarcity economy, but would rather retain the material-driven system they are so comfortable with for fear of the dark, we would view through the lens of oppression.

As for questions, we do have a few more. We will simply list them for convenience. How large is your faction? When did you split from our mutual homeworld of Terra? Do you know of any other powers? How does your wormhole technology work? Would the establishment of a wormhole in a solar system under our domain be in your interest (to facilitate greater communication)? Would it be possible to discuss military pacts?

"Nauarche?" Hellen, the young woman at the comm station glanced at Marcus. He nodded. "Transfe, amabo te."

The young woman's hands flew over the console, and soon the voice spoke once more, this time in clear Latin. Marcus nodded, racking his brain to remember his English lessons. Quite a few of the crew were North American by descent, so the words came relatively fluently to his minds, an ease born of familiarity rather than fluency.

Gar Akaru Foreign Ministry

"Ma'am, the Dolmholdi have replied. They say they have made contact with another civilization. Do you want me to patch the message through?" the Defense Minister's secretary broke the silence that existed for the past ten minuets of the her meeting with the Foreign Minister.

"Yes, and also send it to the Foreign Minister. Tell the Ithaca and Centurion to stand down," she replied, relieved that no blood must be spilled that day. In less then a second, the message popped up in their eyes:

The Foreign Minister, was a bulky man from the southern reaches of the planet. Despite his size and appearance, he was remarkably thoughtful and intelligent, having mediated several border wars in the past few years. He was the first one to speak on the topic. "Interesting. Could this be another addition to the galactic community?" he mused to himself. "I would certainly like to talk with them."

"I agree with you, Andre. We should at least have the chance to determine who this new civilization is, or at least to observe it and draw our conclusions later," she replied back. "I'll get on it."

"Minister, what do you need?" the operator at the Ministry of Communications was amiable, even at this late hour.

"Send a message to Dolmhold. The message should be going to you right now," she replied. There was no need for explanation, as the other Ministry had dealt with the conversations preceding this, and it will pass it along with out question.

The message appeared in the operator's eye.

The Ball

"This is fun, wouldn't you agree?" Victoria asked her friend Stephen through their mental implants.

She was one of those in the circle clapping and tapping, while the stepdancers took the show.

"I couldn't agree more," Stephen replied with glee in his tone, still though their mental implants.

The others were having a similarly good time, mixing well with the UEFP. That's the result of good relations and mostly open-border policies together since the days when the nations were small...

"Hmmm... This is interesting. Their views are similar, but not quite ours, don't you agree?" Dan asked his father, Jacob.

"Yes, my son. Our current beliefs are somewhat different. Still, it is when one enters this phase of society that extremely different forms of government can form," Jacob Ming replied.

"We tend to view life as more then a series of chemical reactions though, but I suppose this is because of how transhumanism affected our nation back when we were a nation on Earth," Gary Ling pointed out.

"Well, we mustn't keep them waiting, let us respond," Jacob stated.

Code: Select all
This is very, very interesting as it seems that our values and views are similar, but not quite each other.

Equality in our view means that each and every opportunity is avaliable to everyone at any time, and to empower everyone to be who they want to be and ectera. We agree that harmony must be achieved between different groups of society, but we are more so about reconciling the two groups and finding common ground early on.

We have reached a stage where we believe that talents are not inherit to an individual, but inherit to their willpower. We believe that anyone can become a great artist, musician, scientist, or whatever they wish to be so long as they try. Throw in various transhuman components, and it is quite easy to see why.

Very indirectly, we believe that we have suppressed crime by creating an envioment where there is no reason to commit crime. The atmosphere of which one commits crime however, results from oppression from another group warping the individual, thus we're technically suppressing suppression. What do you think about this?

We'll answer the questions in order for the sake of conveniance:

1. Currently, we are about 481 billion entities strong spanning across sixty core systems, each as abundent as the one you see right here. We really do not have any other enforced systems then our core systems though, although we are planning to start operation presence some time in the near future.

2. We left Earth/Terra completely at about 2070, at the height of political, economic and civil strife around the world which was predicted to occur during the transition to a type one civilization. Assuming that some strange space-time issues have occurred, we believe, since we fought against them, that the Earth became a totalitarian theocratic police state known as the imperium, but many interesting issues arose when various space-time anomalies struck.

3. We know of many other powers in this galaxy, such as Hlagdos, the UEFP, the UFT, and quite a few others. We once knew even more but various anomalies struck. We are not quite sure what occurred, but many just disappeared out of existance.

4. Our wormhole technology works mostly by probing the quantum foam and selecting a suitable wormhole to enlarge. While time consuming and believed to be energy consuming, it is effective.

5. The construction of a wormhole straight in Dolmani seems a tad insecure, but we trust your faction and will allow the construction of such a wormhole.

6. As for a military pact, you may apply to join the Delta Treaty Organization.

WalMart-Class Hyperdreadnaught
0900 Hours

"I think I really do like you," High Manager/Corporal Benj Quick stated affectionately to a young woman who was sitting on his bed, stroking her affectionately.

Further analysis would've revealed that the young and beautiful woman, with golden locks and pale skin and modestly dressed, was actually a subhuman, a species of servent humans used for slave labor or generally whatever the heck the elites, and some privilaged normal humans, wanted to do with them. This female was very lucky, usually the elites used them as stress-relievers in other ways, most notably Mr.Khan milling though fifty in a minute, blood drenched all over him each time.

"Ahhh..." The woman let out in a sigh of happiness as she was being stroked. They typically had the mentality of a pet animal, and Benj did keep her as a pet, nothing more.

"Solar Scoop in one minute, recommended strapping on," The internal semi-AI of the ship spoke out.

"I have to go, stay where you are, ok?" Benj asked her.

She let out a cry of dispair or sadness, and then let him go.

Benj was one of the elite, genetically modified semi-cyborg totalitarian rulers of the war fleet. All obeyed his command, unless they were elites as well.

"What is the status of the 25 312th fleet?" He asked.

"En route to a new star system to continue the process, so the data speaks," The AI replied.

"Not yet there there?" Benj spoke with a tone that indicated that he wanted a good answer, or else.

"My lord, they have been repeatedly distracted by signs of civilization," the AI replied, hoping that it was going to live.

"Civilization huh? Well, bring up the rest of the elites, and don't talk to me." Benj spoke in great fury.

As the 50 000 other elites which dominated the grand fleet popped up in various video call boxes, they all looked harsh, angry and yet professional. Sleek black tuxedos and occasionally sunglasses were apparent, giving them a cold demenor.

"I'm afraid our plans have hit a rock," Benj began.

"Signs of civilization are near where our next projected star harvest process was to be," Benj continued.

"Well, what else? My fleet is more then ready to commit to the destruction of this rock," Khan replied. Everyone else agreed.

"It is settled then?" Benj asked.

"It is."

Outskirts of Dolmholdi-Claimed Territory

A lone drone, just a meter cubed in volume, was patrolling the system. It did not expect a million warships to pop up behind it from hyperspace.

And yet, the warships did as a few missiles began streaking towards the fragile drone, which was not meant for combat. It was destroyed.

As the tractor beams carefully pulled the parts in, the sub-humans were instructed to extract the data from the drone's CPU core, which had largely remained intact. It had revealed the Dolmholdi Collective.

"First stop here, next stop they're ours," Chuckled Fred Cot.

"Disturbing reports are coming in..." Dan pointed out with a slightly fear on his face.

"Indeed, over thirty drones have disappeared, but not before they gave disturbing news. Thirty million warships?" Hubert Gao asked.

"I'm not even going to start about the number of drones and fighters they seem to have," Winne Yu pointed out.

"We may be on the verge of war."

"Fifteen more drones have disappeared, getting closer to our core systems."

"Contact our allies, and notify them of the situation. In the mean time, allocate a large group to check."

"I'll go," Dan spoke up.

We have reason to believe that there is an armed incursion into Dolmholdi territory by a massive force. Sources indicate over thirty million warships and many orders of magnitude more in terms of enemy drones, missiles, and fighters. We may need help.

Dolmholdi Starfighter Strike Group

It had been over sixty years since a Starfighter Strike group was organized, as the advent of drones once again made it so that a single manned spacecraft was like the leader. This strike group of two thousand starfighters included their compilement of a hundred drones each, making a total of over two hundred thousand spacecraft. They were going to inspect on one system, and either stand their ground and fight if possible, or flee and report back.

"Warning, they may have enough spacecraft to literally blot out the sun," Dan warned his group.

"Then we'll fight in the shade," Hubert replied. Everyone laughed.
