International Waters - Arctic Ocean - Rostil
The naval commanders sat around on board the ENS Ragnarök from both the Scandinavian Maritime Self Defence Force and the Eslovakian Navy discussing the elements of the upcoming VIKING THUNDER naval exercise on the Arctic Ocean to mark the partnerships of the two states and to remain vigilant against future threats. The ENS Visby a Visby class corvette and HScMS Haakon a Skjold class patrol boat were in formation besides the elegantly streamlined ENS Ragnarök. The cold chilly winds battered the crews as the choppy waters swayed the boats every now and then. The Eslovakian naval commander strode into the office as the amphibious corps guard swayed the door shut behind him whilst the commander continued to swagger in the darkly lit room.
The figure revealed to be the highly decorated Admiral of the Fleet, Björnborg. The man famous for his trademark beard and short height enjoyed much respect from his counterparts in the other three service branches. His uniform presented various medals and ribbons with a golden rope that looped around his arm of his navy blue mess uniform.
"Good to see that we all arrived in one piece" chuckled the Admiral as he made himself comfortable amongst the other multinational high ranking officials. "How are the preparations fairing?" he bluntly asked.
"The Eslovakian Navy is prepared, all vessels have been position accordingly and the ice breaker is further north from us should problems occur." reported the Eslovakian commander
"Same for the SMSDF, the two Ula submarines have been appropriately stationed. said the SMSDF naval commander whilst he sharply rose up to read out the report.
"Good" acknowledged Admiral Björnborg as he sipped his glass of water. "Sorted the commercial shipping's?
"Yes sir, everything on the list has been ticked."
"Alright, let the first exercise begin!" commanded the Admiral as the radio officers obeyed the commands hastily
"All units, all units, exercise Viking Thunder is a go. I repeat, Viking Thunder is a go. Mission 1 initiated.
The Scandinavian's had received their orders well before, their Ula submarines were to be tested to their most extreme capabilities. Their objective: The ENS Ekaterinberg, the Eslovakian Navy's pride. The stationary submarines began to stealthy move away from the positions towards the crossing fleet to complete their first objective.
