Zecatera is somewhere along the lines of 7.325 million ligh years in length.

You can't have a grid of only octagons in Euclidean space though.

Zecatera has three layers of 'skin' made up of octagonal grid like structures. The grids themselves are made of octagonal grids as well, and are about an earth in diameter. The outer layer of skin has 24 AU diameter grids. I need to think about this...

So new starships are coming in service within starfleet and my old ships will be decomissioned while new ships are commissioned on a 1 for 1 basis. New ships include the Discovery class and Intrepid class vessels.

I won't be able to post until Sunday. This weekend is the wedding and my birthday. I'm already in Overland Park, Kansas til Saturday night.

And UPT, there is debris. But it is regular debris. Pieces from the weaker worldships and the Vexil warships. The construct left nothing behind, and the more powerful worldships don't either. They have the same protocol built in as the construct does but their nanites aren't as advanced as the constructs.

I'm working on my spacecraft. Having to get to grips with textures in blender because I can't be modelling several hundred missile tubes. Well, I can, but then when I have many many such groups things will go horribly horribly wrong.

Well, I'm on Linux, so it won't bluescreen. But I have had Blender spend tens of minutes chewing up all of my 4 GB of RAM, then 8 GB of swap, before the Out Of Memory Killer strikes it down.

Just get a 4.3 terabyte RAM supercomputer with dozens of terabytes of storage memory. Sure, you'll be down several million bucks, but hey, you'll have a nice computer.

LOL, I would still manage to bring it to its knees. Probably end up running a weather simulation for my planets on it or something. Or maybe what I seriously considered at one point, before thinking better of it: simulating the entire geological history of a planet from its formation. In the words of Jeremy Clarkson...

You could always use the walls of computers that lucasarts, dreamworks, and pixar have. Pretty much infinite processing power, and a massive amount of memory.
