It was this attitude combined with his court record that got him elected as District Attorney for Esrin at the age of twenty three where he sent a legendary record as he took down and put behind bars every singly major gang leader in the Maifia. After the death of his wife, he moved away to Ashuerna where he raised his child and groomed her to be the next Queen after he was denied the throne by the foreign Courts. At the age of twenty nine, he moved back to Esrin and ran for the Senate, winning in a landslide victory over five opponents. He was in the Senate for one term where he lost Speaker by one vote. During his term he exposed five scandals in the Senate and earned the nick name " Ethnic Keeper". Despite our previous request for the elections for the Senate of Polaris to be held we would first of all like to rectify the belief that the People and Senate intends to forward a candidate of our own for one of the five offices in question. While indeed we have taken a strong interest in this organization's goal, so similar to the very purpose for the establishment of a unified quendi state in 1422, we do belive that it at the moment would be better that our engagement with the Polaris takes the form of an ordinary membersstate.

Thus, we it is not the intent of the People and Senate to back a Quendi candidate for the elections. We have the utmost confidence in the competency of our fellow membersstates and the candidates that may come from said membersstates. Only in the case that the amount of candidates reaches five or less will the People and Senate submit a candidate to ensure that this organization of democracies will have a democratically elected body to lead it.

That being said the People and Senate however have no intentions of being a silent partner in the Polaris or in the senatorial election. We intend to question the competency, the ideals and even the character of every candidate submitted in order to secure that only the best of the best is elected to lead the Polaris. As such we look forward to be an active voice in the senatorial debate eager to interview the candidates on their stances and on what they hope to contribute to the Polaris. Biography: Yashua Mithridates was born on September 8, 17 BF to Ehud Mithridates, a prominent doctor, and Channah Mithridates, a local seamstress and businesswoman. At the time, Nazario Fernando Clemente y Vasquez and his Fascists dominated the political structure of the nation. However, revolution broke out on the July 7, 7 BF. For approximately seven years, the tumultuous civil conflagration compelled the family to flee from various residences. During this time, Ehud Mithridates began to sympathize with the Socialist policies of the revolutionaries and he wrote prolifically on behalf of the radical newspaper, Ativa Kädas (New Hope). The violence finally culminated in the capitulation and execution of Vasquez and the creation of a novel Socialist government under Ezekiel Bardoff. As a troubled peace fraught with political turmoil ensued, young Yashua entered University of Hebron on the 5 August, Year 0, in order to pursue studies in economics and Journalism. However, despite his brilliance which permitted him to conclude his courses with relative quickness, the newly formed government, determined both to procure the services of young professionals and likewise abolish class distinctions, refused to permit further education at least for a temporal period of time.

From 19 June, Year 3 AF, to 24 April, Year 9 AF, Mithridates labored as a journalist and editor of a number of generically-named government-sponsored newspapers including: Navesi (Revolution), Socialisme (Socialism), and HaAboni (The Worker). He wrote on a multitude of topics including political events, general economics, and the conflicts between Luciratus and the Latin League of Conservative States (La Liga Latina de los Estados Conservadores). However, despite his ardent Socialist views, Mithridates became alienated from the mainstream political organizations after the National Assembly declared Bardoff "Executive Authority for Life". The disillusioned young man thus associated himself with the burgeoning Renaissance Movement, which emerged in opposition to a number of policies utilized within the government. The Movement, which attracted philosophers, artists, authors, poets, scientists, mathematicians, theologians, and other things with both Socialist and Capitalist sympathies, adhered to a set of philosophies influenced by Enlightenment thinking and especially opposed authoritarianism. While Mithridates initially gravitated towards the leftist affiliates of the Renaissance Movement (such as the prominent Marxist, Thomas Adonibaal), he expressed some interest in the politics and philosophies of the rightist as well. Eventually, irked by the persistent riots attributed to the Renaissance Movement and considering its members reactionaries and opponents of the "Communist Ideal", Ezekiel Bardoff ordered the military to crush the organization on 24 April, Year 9 AF. Mithridates, distraught by the overt failure of the Communist Ideal and convinced by the arguments of pro-Capitalists, finally converted to a fervent anti-Socialist, even as he fled into hiding.

Mithridates and a coterie of close companions sought asylum abroad and effectively attempted to simultaneously reorganize the dissident elements of Luciri society, garner foreign and expatriate support for their ideas, and procure an extensive knowledge of cultural customs outside of Luciratus. He travelled through several nations from 30 December, Year 9 AF, to 11 July, Year 15 AF. During his time in exile, Mithridates engaged in vigorous discourse with a multitude of international political theorists and eventually constructed his own unique ideology. At the same time, he maintained contact with associates still residing in Luciratus. Although Mithridates returned to Luciratus on 3 November, 15 AF, in order to arrange further resistance to Ezekiel Bardoff’s increasingly militaristic and authoritarian governance, the aged dictator finally expired on 20 April, 16 AF. The unexpected death of Ezekiel Bardoff and the ascension of his nationalistic and democracy-supporting designated successor, Ravau David Biram- who had become a military hero in the Latin Wars, offered political organizations an opportunity to expand. Amongst the tumultuous succession, Mithridates along with his associates Raanan Levi and Moshe Zev Ben-Hayim founded Métinü (Moderation), a democratic and centrist party.

Métinü and its charismatic leaders garnered significant support from the masses due to their vision of a new, tolerant, enlightened, and educated republic. The party’s platform especially focused on secular and universal education, political protection for demographic minorities, reasonable politics, a Capitalist economy, and moderate reform. Eventually, Mithridates was appointed to the Tenet, the temporary governing body of the new republic. He served on the Tenet from 22 August, Year 17 AF, until its dissolution on 24 October, Year 46 AF. While acting as a governing official, Mithridates and his partisans fought prominently to preserve certain aspects of the “Socialist” style of education while proposing further reforms to the system. These efforts proved immensely successful and drastically improved the level of education amongst all demographics. Likewise, he collaborated with the nationalist officials in the privatization efforts, which saw the revitalization of the free market system in Luciratus. However, he unsuccessfully opposed the proposals for the implementation of two national languages (Hebrew and Spanish), a national religion (Judaism), and several other ideas based on restoring the “National Culture”. In effect, Mithridates and other centrists exerted a moderating influence on the primarily Nationalistic Tenet. During this time, Mithridates also entered the University of Cadmus, the nation’s most prestigious college, and eventually attained a Masters Degree in Comprehensive Political Science (Year 21 AF) and a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy (Year 23 AF).

He developed a lasting friendship with several Tenet officials including: Uriel Kafir Sharon, Moshe Zev Ben-Hayim, Eliseo Ramos, and David Yaron Biram himself. Mithridate was also a co-author and signatory of the National Constitution of the Most Serene Republic of Luciratus and promoted various additions to expand civil and political rights. Immediately before the death of Biram, the Tenet initiated elections to determine the first government of the republic under the novel constitution. Mithridates successfully attained the presidency along with his vice-president, Raanan Levi, and Métinü won a narrow majority in the Λesét (the legislative body). Mithridates fervently campaigned to enrich the level of education available to Luciri students, repeal certain nationalistic measures passed into law under the Tenet, and expand the economy through cordial relations abroad and expansionary fiscal and monetary policies. These efforts entrenched his support amongst the middle-class, businessmen, and most minorities. However, he paid little heed to the topics of homosexual rights (marriage and adoption), women’s rights (especially abortion), and union’s rights. After narrowly winning re-election, Mithridates silenced critics of his policies towards labor by implementing reforms which would grant unions rights and stringently regulate businesses on behalf of consumer health and safety. Nonetheless, his conservative proclivities would not permit him to change his opinions about homosexuality and abortion. He likewise took a firm anti-Colonialist stance in foreign policy, even embarking on a conflict with the Most Serene Republic of the Quendi (The Israstine War). After concluding his second term as president, Mithridates was declared a Concilier de Luciratus by a joint session of the Legislature and appointed to a governmental advisory council.

Dear Honorable Directors of the Polaris Initiative,

The Asian Federation of the Empire of Symphonia, as stated before, is a "Democratic Imperial Monarchy". Most nations and many alliances have wondered how does the Symphonian government function in the light of such a contradiction. As one foreign ambassador told a Symphonian prince, "Your government is hypocritical, even its name and type are self-contradictory!" We hope that the Directors of the Polaris Initiative will be more understanding.

First off, the Symphonian government is predominately elected into power. The senators and delegates of the Imperial Senate and the Federation Congress are elected directly from the Imperial provinces and Federation regions. The legislative branch is the most powerful, handling the day to day affairs of Symphonia, her Federation colonies, and her protectorate. All domestic affairs are supervised by the legislative branch, including all executive departments and agencies. The legislature is granted exclusive power over the budget and foreign policy. The legislative branch is a strong indicator of public opinion and is usually heeded by other branches of government.

The executive branch, which all recognize as the imperial monarchy, is designed much like any elected PM or president of other nations. It represents the Imperial Senate and the Symphonian people at all foreign conferences, conventions, and etc. The imperial monarchy also charged with carrying out the will of the Symphonian people in overseas or foreign territories. Seen as the guardian of the nation, and the monarchy is regarded as the ultimate reason to the sucess or failure of virtually any venture by the state. Therefore due to their high profile, it is the face of the Holy Monarchs and their heirs that many nations see when confronted by Symphonia. Many tend to forget that Symphonian monarchs only act on the behalf of their people.

Furthermore, the family that occupies the Celestial Throne can be forced to give up power should the legislature find the current Holy Monarch unsatisfactory and incompetent to rule. If such a thing happens, happening only twice in Symphonian history, an election will be held to choose the next ruling family. The candidate family is open to families which hold imperial or Federation citizenship, and voting is open to all citizens regardless of status.

In general, Symphonia has a powerful democratic machine that acts as a check on a limited monarchy. Furthermore, the monarchy is given the powers of a democratic chief executive and is subject to rules and laws just like any other citizen.
