International Incidents Best MT Roleplayer Tournament
This tournament, largely inspired by Jenrak's Regional Tournament, is designed to pit the very best MT roleplayers against each other, to see who in fact many people believe to be the best of the very best. Nations will be voted on based on their body of work, their name recognition, and their usage of the modern tech setting for their roleplays.
The Voting Process
For the Third Round, voting will be done via ballots similar to the Preliminary Tournament. You will post your ballot on the thread using the pre-configured form provided. This form will be used during the preliminary rounds, so please be cognizant of filling out your ballots correctly the first time. Because of the nature of the tournament, the process will be open longer than the preceding prelim rounds were. If two nations are tied at the end of a voting window, ballots hitherto rejected for being submitted after the closure of the window shall be counted in those races only. If no such ballots exist, a run-off election shall be held pitting the tied parties. Also, if a tournament nation wishes to withdraw from the competition, votes will be disregarded, and their opponent nation will continue on in the brackets, just like the previous rounds. Furthermore, there is a new rule being instituted to monitor for puppet spam. If nations have been created within the last week, or if they have extremely low post counts that are not commiserate with their respective start dates (ie a 2009 nation that has only 10 posts total), those ballots will be summarily rejected. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
Here are the third round match-ups, determined by the previous results
The Grand World Order vs. New Nicksyllvania
The Great Eight round gets off to a bang with a classic confrontation, pitting the Grand World Order against the popular New Nicksyllvania. The GWO had a tough road through the tournament so far, taking on the Scandinvans and Leistung to get to this point. New Nicksyllvania had an immense challenge from Lamoni in round one, but got an unexpected gift in the form of Anagonia-Yohannes in round two, who withdrew from the field out of respect to his competition. Can Nicks power his way to the Semi-Finals, or will the GWO head to the bracket finals?

Automagfreek vs. Lyras
Perhaps the most monumental match-up of the 2011 International Incidents Best Modern Tech Roleplayer Tournament yet. Two of the most respected names in all of NationStates collide in a titanic showdown. In one corner, the vaunted Automagfreek, who put down Amerika and Abruzi to get to this point. In the other corner, the mighty Lyras; he who took out Questers and Birkaine to get to the Great Eight. This one will be epic.

Van Luxemburg vs. Jenrak
Van Luxemburg managed to overcome Allanea in a close second round match, while Jenrak defeated a prudent challenge from Layarteb in the previous round. Both nations were among the leading nominated states when this tournament began earlier this month. Who will rise to victory in the battle of two roleplaying giants?

- Deus - vs. New Azura
The final Quarterfinal Round match pits youth versus experience, as the up-and-coming -Deus- continues to surprise the NationStates Community with an incredible run here in this tournament. After defeating Waldenburg 2 in the opening round, the young nation further shocked by defeating early favorite Greater Tezdrian in the second round. In her way to the Semi-Finals stands New Azura, who defeated Ustio North and Belkaland to meet in the Great Eight round. Can Cinderella continue on in her upset bid, or will the Azuran machine keep rolling on?
