Sino-Christantle Border Dispute (MT, Open)

Postby Isolated China » Fri Apr 08, 2011 5:43 pm

Chui-Mang village, China
All around Chui-Mang village, there was small activity. The harvest had been great, the people finally had a hospital and a few shops, but the presence of the Red Guard and declaration of Martial Law had scared the citizens. In the recent border dispute, Christantle had claimed multiple villages that were on the Chinese side of the border because of their high population of Christantle citizens. Some were illegal immigrants that had come to start over a new life in China, others were criminals. The criminals had been shipped back, but the immigrants were allowed to stay. This angered Christantle, and had caused the nation to threaten sanctions, and claimed the villages on the border. In response, the Red Guard were sent. They were teenagers, students, and young peasants that were armed with rifles and bayonets. They were sent to guard the border instead of regular army troopers due to the need for an active army. So as the 5th Patrol went out on their daily routine, they wondered. Would this be the day that tensions exploded? Would China be thrust into war? Would Christantle go on a rampage against China, executing civilians and the peasants? Only time would tell.

Two weeks Earlier.....
After the declaration that many villages upon the Christo-China border, many villages were respectfully "under control" of the imperial Christantian dynasty. While there had not been any border disputes in a few weeks, Christantle had been asking the congress for the go ahead to attack upon the only border village not under control of Christantle. A total of two tanks divisions of [i]Yasuke
Main Battle tanks, a total of sixty in all, with 15,000 soldiers of the imperial legions, along with a line of artillery and aircraft.. There goal was to capture the village before any major counter measure could be achieved. After the orders were given, the troops were being prepared. At Fort Roma, all troops going in for the assualt were be briefed for the mission. Once in the warzone, they could not turn back under any circumstances. Soon, the roaring engins of the mighty tanks and the loud cheers of the soldiers blinded out all noise as they made their ways towards the warzone.

Present day.....
The makeshift camp was bustling with action. Men were preparing for the day. Today was the day they would assault would begin. Nighthawk stealth bombers would begin the attack with strategic bombing. A total of thirty aircraft were present, but could be reinforced. After the first wave, artillery barrages would cripple any and all strategic and tactical buildings not hit by the bombing. In the thrid wave, the two divisions of tanks and 15,000 men would move in. With such a dominate tank, Christantle was sure that they could not lose. About ten minutes ago, the first of the thirty bombers had taken off. Soon, the bomber would begin it's attack....

The Holy Kingdom's Forest, Sino-Christantle Border
"This is the 5th Battallion, we see no signs of Christantle forces. We are going to look around a little more, then we shall-" The 5th Battallion commander looked in awe at the sky above. Christantle bombers were flying into the Chinese side of the border. "Never mind! I see Christantle bombers! Get the AA cannons up! Rocket soldiers, shoot them out of the sky!" Commander Chey yelled both into his radio and at his soldiers. the 5th Battallion was barely 5 thousand soldiers strong. They were part of the many battallions patrolling the border. Since the last border clash between China and Christantle, both sides had started sending out more and more patrols. Chinese patrols had been getting bigger, going from squads, to battallions, and even divisions. So as the rocket soldiers of the 5th Battallion tried to shoot at the bombers using lock-on rockets, they heard the nearby rumbling of soldiers and tanks. "Men! Christantle has unofficially declared war! Ambush them! We must delay them while Chinese High Command gets reinforcements to try to hold Chui-Mang village!" Chey told his men. As Chey put the bayonet on his rifle, he yelled to his battallion. "Riflemen! Ambush and hit the infantry, if there is any! If you can, hijack an enemy tank. Now for you rocket soldiers, switch to manual fire. Then hit those tanks, as they will rip us up if they get the chance. Now go, use the guerilla tactics that earned us victory during the war against Chiang. For the People's Republic of China!" Chey yelled. His men yelled with him, low enough so as not to alert the enemy, but loud enough to show their patriotism. They then vanished into the woods like ghosts, and prepared to strike the forces Christantle had sent. They were going to fight until the enemy retreated, or until they died. Whichever came first.

How could they possibly shoot down bombers that where thousands of feet in the air? That's nearly impossible. But then again, Christantle had sent the mighty BUFF in, which wasn't a stealth bomber. All they had was a massive 70ton payload of conventional or nuclear weapons. The pilots had noticed the pathetic attempt at shooting them down. They would succeed in a possible hit by a bullet, but a rocket or AA gun would most likely not hit them. As orders came in, the BUFF's swooped down to higher altitude to get a more accurate shot. With the opening of the bomb bay, seventy tons of dumb bombs fell out of the air like a dead body. Other bombers followed in their wake.

"Sir, what is the results of the bombing so far?" Ask Colonel Montgomery
"Well, they should be starting about now." General Lavisk replied, "I want the tanks and infantry to start rolling in immediately. We need the town before the massive Chinese military can get there. Also, please note, that if their reinforcements arrive, we may be able to hold off until our forces, which are about two hundred miles from here. Now, go and tell the tanks commanders to role out."
"Aye general. May god be on our side today.

Colonel Montgomery had done as he was ordered. After the Yasuke Main Battle Tanks were ready, they begun to role out. The 15,000 soldiers in the front lines also were mobilized. It would be about an hour before the soldiers would arrive, but when they did, they had been ordered to leave no one alive. This would show for the power Christantle had in all ways, economically and militarily. Once arrived, artillery would begin to shell the areas that had not been destroyed.

The President sat looking over the weekly dossier reports that were sent to him by mail through a process that had to be certified by the Department of Defense and the Department of State. The President smiled as most of the Commonwealths were doing fine but when he came across a border line that was full of dots and many red marks upon the border of Christantle and China. What this signified was that there was a border dispute and conflict was erupting.

The President thought of how they could just split the territory and it would be no problem. But there were leaders who felt it was their duty to keep hold as much land as possible and that would appease the public. Such things in Chadacian were not significant it was more of what happened internally then abroad that helped keep the voters on Henry's side.

As more research was piled onto the desk he found that Christantle and China have had this dispute longer then only recently. Only he found reports dating to 2 weeks ago. But 2 weeks ago the healthcare law had been passed and he was in the middle of trying to push his agenda on the congress.

The President called in his most trusted adviser, Albert Korman was a person with such a presence that sometimes the President thought himself was the adviser and Albert was the man in charge. This was the kind of people the President surrounded himself with. Coming from a family that was poort there were always childhood friends needing money.

So when his mother told him the best thing to do to get away from the probability that someone would use him he surrounded himself with rich and smart people. He did this because there was no reason for the rich and smart people to use him to get money if they already had money.

Nevertheless the President did not feel right in not having some say in the conflict. He thought for a while then decided that the best course of action was to help the smaller nation, Christantle. So while he gathered himself and began to email the Leader of the Republic with the hope that they would accept his help.

Dear Leader of Christantle,

It has come to the attention of me and the government that you are having problems solidifying your border with China. While we feel that the best course of action is to help you the congress will need to be persuaded a little more before they allow the army to become involved.

Until then my friend we ask that you hold steadfast for the USMC awaits their orders to help your nation.

Sincerely,
Henry Eden

EIA Headquarters
Carthage, Erjunhuf

The Erjunhuf Intelligence Agency had been monitoring the situation on the Chinese-Christantian border for some time; for some time, border disputes were not given attention to the President unless the situation grew violent, or if an ally was involved. With the surprise attack by Christantle, it was now given permission to be sent up to the very top of the Erjunhuf government: within 10 minutes, it was on the President's desk.

The Blair House
Carthage, Erjunhuf

President Archer was normally not one to intervene in border conflicts, especially now, but the obvious aggression that the report presented left Archer with no choice: he sent only two messages: one to the government of Christantle, and one to his Defense Minister. Erjunhuf would, for now, be neutral, but if the war continued for another 24 hours without peace negotiations, it would go to war for the preservation of the peace.

We will not stand for your obvious aggression toward your neighbor over these border concerns. We demand that you resolve this issue peacefully within the next 24 hours, or we will be forced to intervene on the side of the Chinese. Think carefully, before your only option will be that of surrender, at your territorial and political expense. Ordinarily, we would not resolve to go to such lengths, but your clear and unnecessary actions have forced our hand, and we will not stand by and watch an innocent nation be attacked in such a manner.

The President sat calmly in the meeting with the heads of the army branches, The Chinese-Christantian border despute looked to be heating up rapidly and the government needed to be ready with a response.
"Admiral, what do we have in position to support the Christantle in this border dispute? It needs to be strong to, not just one or two destroyers."
"Well sir," the head of the navy responded " The ARWS On Spirits Tide, on of our air craft carriers, is close enough to intercede, it travels with 3 destroyers, 3 frigates, an attack submarine and in this case 3 amphibious assault ships. The Carrier group is also fully supplied to, sir."
"Good" responded the President "Army if need be how many troops can we deploy?"
"Depends, sir" The head of the army replied "Around 45,000 Infantry, 120 tanks, plus support."
"Sounds good" the President said, turning to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs "Tell the Christantle government we are willing to support them against the communist scum that is the Chinese."

Dear Premier Maxwell P. Alben,
We thank you for your gratitude, and the people of China thank you. We ask that you try to get Christantle to pull out, and send military forces to aid our Red Guard in the defense of the border. We also ask for some humanitarian aid for the villages destroyed and people affected. Your help is very appreciated. The Middle Kingdom is glad that you shall assist us.
Signed,
General Pang Zhou and Minister Lao, Minister of Foreign Relations.

Chui-Mang village, China
AA guns thundered as they fired at the bombers, but they could not stop the devastation being unleashed. Thousands of civilians screamed and ran in terror as the bombs fell. Houses exploded. Fires started. People fell over, dead. The Red Guard fired hopelessly at the bombers, in an attempt to drive them away. Over half of the village people were dead or were hurt. The parts of the village unaffected had other civilians helping the wounded, or mourn the dead. The remaining Red Guard that survived the air raid gathered as many vehicles as they could find, military or not, and got people to load up on them. They were going to try to evacuate the survivors, with the wounded leaving first. They hoped the ambush would delay the enemy long enough for the evacuation to complete. If not, the Red Guard would then try to hold the enemy off with their simple bayonets and rifles, in an attempt to save the civilians. Christantle had caused some families to lose loved ones or entire families to be destroyed. They had failed, however, to hit the commune, which was the center for the village's needs. Stuff came in to give to the populace, stuff was exported to get money for the government. They would evacuate this, and use its stocked food to feed the civilians on the way. In a way, one small ray of hope emerged for the civilians, who had lost loved ones, or were hurt. This commune was that ray.

Dear President Archer,
It seems as though you care that China is being invaded. We are suprised, and are glad that you would help us unless peaceful neogtiations are authorized. We thank you for the gesture of using the army, should peace terms not be reached. If necessary, we ask that you set up refugee camps for the people fleeing from the destroyed villages, and that you would give them humanitarian supplies. Again, we thank you for the generousity.
Signed,
General Pang Zhou and Minister Lao, Minister of Foreign Relations.

There was another conflict at play in this world.
So far, the tiny nation of Rokkenjima Island has not participated in any conflicts.
"This is an unmissable opportunity for our Holy Empire. Defense Minister, send the Holy Fleet and 1000 Defenders of the Faith into the region. Make diplomatic communications with both of the countries."
"Your Holiness, that is more than half of our Army and our entire Navy! This can not..."
"Are you questioning my decision?"
The Minster for Defense recoiled from the suddenly cold voice of his Emperor.
"No, Your Holiness, it shall be done."
"Good. I expect a report on your actions and who is winning in 24 hours. For now, we will remain as observers."

We can begin sending in humanitarian aid as soon as possible: I've already given the order, all they need to know is the port of destination. Additionally, we have air units that can be sent over as well, in preparation of a general bombing campaign to pave the way for our armored and infantry counter-invasion. If you could provide a landing strip where they could land, we could send them over immediately.

Know this: we will fight with you until victory or surrender is the outcome. We will not abandon you unless more extenuating circumstances arise.

Dear President Arthur,
You may land at the Tianmen Port, which is in the Gulf of China. It is the closest port to the border, or you may land at Hong Kong, which has much more equipped ports for extravagant ships, but is halfway across China. Our airforce is outdated compared to the Christantle airforce, so it would be of much help. There is a large concentration of airstrips which were recently cleared out and built, near Beijing. It should allow for you to deploy a major airforce. We hope that we can count on you until we defeat the Imperialists who have dared to assault China.
Signed,
General Pang,

Dear National and Major General Patton and Middleton,
Yes, we would gladly accept your forces. China is glad that you will stand with her against Christantle and her imperialist supporters.

Dear General Bradley,
Your forces shall be needed at the border. Right now, all we have are some patrol battallions and Red Guard, which are teenagers and students in highschool and college, who have taken up arms to support China. They are poorly trained, but we hope they hold until reinforcements arrive. They shall, however, never surrender.

"Your Holiness, the reports are in. Our Navy is well on its way to the region and we have found that both sides are quite evenly matched..."

Our Holy Emperor has instructed me to offer the support of our Navy and Army in this conflict.
Please note that our nation is small and our armed forces are quite vital, so there is a possibility that our forces will be forced to withdraw at sometime in the conflict. However, until then we are fully ready to support you in this conflict.
Please specify whether this offer is accepted and possible landing locations for our Navy.
On board are 1000 Defenders of the Faith, our elite infantry.
Our Navy is mainly made up of Imperial Battlecruisers with AA amd offshore bombardment abilities.
Our Esteemed Air Force will unfortunately be unable to partake in this conflict.

OOC: I know. I am only one-lining the letters if I need to get the message sent real quicklike. If its the battle though, I won't one-line. Probably. :p
