CODENAME: OPERATION COLOSSUS

In 15th Maius of X942, The Allied Leaders and Generals formulated a strategy which would hasten the invasion and would capture the capital, Insomia City before the month of Augustus. The Codename of this operation is Operation Colossus in which 6 Armies would land across a 75km beach spanning from Bodhum to Constantinus. The First Sector consisted of the Togerian Sector under General Mazada's command who will land on Bodhum Beach followed by the Gallian Sector under General Belgen Gunther's command will land on Gold Beach then The Commonwealth Sector consisting of Zanarkians and Rubrumians under Generals Tidus and King respectively. The next sector is the Lucian-Nippon Sector under Field Marshal Snow Villiers who was handpicked by King Noctis and the last sector went to the Jordslagians under Major General Taal's command.

With Cassino in allied hands, This operation was to effectively hasten the invasion and be able to capture the city before the year ends.

The King's plan was to capture and save more lives from the clutches of the enemy by planning a swift landing at the enemy's most blindspot in the area. The King was very intelligent on tactical planning. He and the other Generals were aboard the aircraft carriers as they order for more reinforcements to land.

This invasion was to be the largest amphibious invasion with over 1,500 Allied Vessels, 2,500 Planes and a large number of troops. The Invasion was to be preceded by airborne operations to secure the landing zones of the respective Allied forces.

The operation was to start on 6th of June when the waves are calm and steady.

A few weeks later.

0020 Hours

In the Night, The 5th and 6th Airborne Division set off at the middle of the night in hopes of softening the landing areas.

"I can't see anywhere on the Lois ba Bavent"

"Oh for god's sake Jack, It's the biggest forest in Lucis. Pay attention."

"I am, It's not there."

"Well, Perhaps they moved. By my calculations we're off course. You'll want to bank north 2 degrees. 5, 4, 3 ,2 ,1 and bingo."

As the gliders neared and neared, The men cocked their assault rifles and the engineer prepared the launcher in case of any armored presence in their landing area. About a total of 8,500 men were to be dropped across the Lucis Sector to the Jordslagian sector. But the focus was in Benouville, which was a few kilometers from Constantinus.

"Ok everyone, brace for landing."

As they got near, The glider crashed and bumped.

"Stream!"

"Jettison, the chute."

Violent shaking occurred inside the glider. The Gliders were the choice for this since it was quiet rather than using helicopters or planes. Finally, The gliders came to a halt.

"Bloody hard landing, eh?"

"Is everyone alright; Mills?"

"Fine here sir."

"Button, Let's go. Move."

After the hard landing, The troops quietly sneaked up on the enemy positions. There was 2 MG nests and a bridge that got across the road to Constantinus. The objective was to secure a road to Constantinus for the Allied Forces. the night was perfect. When the MG nest was relived, The rest of the troops moved in but then, MG fire sent them to the ground but the troops kept moving. They secured the banks around before declaring that it was secure. About 55 men of the 750 were either killed or wounded.

In the night the Flying Leon's using a stealth planes, dropped 500 soldiers. Their mission was simple, booby trap the back of the enemy front, when they try to retreat, they'll be bombed, shot, cut to death. This was to cripple the enemy number, and allow the invasion to go more smoothly. Togerian forces made sure to contact the allies the positions of the booby traps, as to make friendly-fire non-existent.

"Commander Hidekai, where do we go?"

"We're heading south 5 miles of Bodhum, and booby trapping it."

"Why?"

"It'll aid in the invasion, and cripple enemy forces. When we get there only hit the roads, and some parts of the forest. Bravo will evacuate citizens. Rodger?"

"Hai"

The team moved along, Charlie going to set the traps, and Bravo evacuating the citizens. This would hit the enemy hard, and allow the allies the advantage they needed.

"A lot, actually. Some of them we are already familiar with. You should have destroyed this whole continent when you had the chance."

They knew that the leader of the militants was to headstrong and seemed feeble minded to have done it without allies Though it seemed that their enemies were getting a second wind prior to their defeat and the destruction of their airforce. The 42 believes that they will be at a disadvantage compared to their numbers of allies, but a ruthless counter-offense to help with.The 42 had started to give the working orders to prepare for all out war against the Commonwealth and the allies so they will be supplied with fresh men and high spirits.

Togeria had launched a second operation, it was to liberate Nippon. A force of 10,000 would storm the beach, a search went out, but only brung back that the Island was less guarded. Must of been, because of the sudden attack on all sides.

This operation would be called Operation:KIT-KAT the force would wait till night, and on a clouded night to attack, they would attack with the force of a lion. The liberation was expected to only last a couple of months.

Boats came and waited, disguised to look like enemy vessels, the Togerians looking more Lucian due to where they came from (think of what the prince looks like, and that's what Togerians look like.) it made them look like slaves, they would use this to their advantage. Using the ruse if checking the waters, while in reality they waited till night.

Operation Colossus, Milford Beach
12,000 Jordslagian troops, along with an assortment of Jeeps and Tanks, floated across the sea to land at Milford Beach. Their part of Operation Colossus, the largest Seaborne invasion in Jordslagian history. All under the command of Colonel, as of recently Major General, Taal.

Decried in the Jordslagian press as a 'Coward who could not possibly hope to fill the shoes of Colonel Kaanes,' Taal was known for willing to have his soldiers pay the butchers bill and for hanging back during fights. Like he was now, in the Battleship Töndron. Despite his supposed cowardice, however, he was excellent at Long-Term strategy, a fact most reporters didn't know or ignored.

His main body of troops would be landing at Section C of Milford Beach, near the 8th Wagen Gruppe. He realized the value of Militant Defectors, and thus planned to offer 8th Wagen Gruppe an opportunity to surrender and fight with the Jordslagians instead of a against them. He checked his watch. '20 Minutes to landing.' He thought. Marching onto the open deck on Töndron, he gave orders to begin launching the Naval Bombardment he had already planned. He loved being in Command. It was always so fun to defeat one's enemy.

After the Bombardment ended 17 Minutes later, the landing ships came within sight. Under fire, the troops inside quickly unloaded, suffering moderate casualties. Ducking for cover and then returning fire, they began what became a long battle with 8th Wagen Gruppe.

Kaanes's Last Charge
After suffering several casualties to his group of 500 men, Kaanes and the 471 survivors reached the enemy line. Fierce Hand-to-Hand combat ensued, some men shooting, others hitting with the butts of their guns. The ferocity of the Jordslagians was like no other. And Kaanes stood in the midst of them all, firing his pistol at any Militant he saw.

East flank of Constantinus
200 Jordslagian Paratroopers dropped down at the East Flank of the city, quickly eliminating what little resistance was found there with minimal casualties. Then... They waited. Getting rid of their Parachutes, they simply stood on the Eastern outskirts of the city, waiting for something.

Captain Draahkas Naalim was in command of this Company of Paratroopers. Scanning the horizon for any enemies, he turned to his soldiers. "Men," He said. "Start setting up base. It'll be a while before Lucisian Paratroopers get here, you know."

Cassino, Great Lucis and Accordo
A plane touched down. Unlike the Transport planes aside it, still delivering troops, this one was clearly a V.I.P. Plane. Once it's sole Passenger stepped out, the Jordslagian soldiers gasped, then cheered: It was Olav VI, elderly but kind-hearted ruler of all Jordslag. With the help of grinning soldiers, he took wobbly steps down the stairs. He was bedridden most of the time now, and always seemed to be catching new illnesses. Much like Noctis, however, he ignored it and continued to improve his country. He was the man who had turned Jordslag into a regional power.

Once he reached the ground, he was swamped by soldiers. Smiling as he would to young children, he pushed them aside, looking for the Secret Bunker. Once he found I, he knocked on the door. In his creaky voice, he said, in broken Lucisian, "This Olav VI, King of Jordslag. I come in now and you tell me where you king is." Reaching out a shaking, bony hand, he pushed open the door, stepping inside. He looked at the men inside with eyes wise beyond their 82 years.

"Greetings" Defense Minister Kreiss said.

"The King right now is commanding the commonwealth force that will land and aid your troops. The King wanted to meet you at this day but his duty belonged to his people and so his priority is to free his people from oppression."

Just then, A messenger arrived with a letter.

"A letter for King Olaf IV."

"Oh!" Kreiss voiced. He reached for the letter and passed it to the King.

Greetings honorable one,

I'm supposed to meet you this day but with my duty belonging to my people, which I've hold dear to my heart, I have to free them from oppression but I would like to immediately head to Cassino once the invasion is successful. I'm very glad to be fighting alongside a very honorable and very respectable ally. The Jordslagians have the same level of bravery. I myself lead my troops personally into battle. My people are counting the hours they need to wait for our forces to free them.

I'm very glad of the bravery that Colonel Kaanes had shown. For that, I'll pin him for the Georgius Cross, The Highest Military Medal and Honor given to a soldier and the Medal of the Legion of Valor, the Highest Military Award for outstanding bravery in battle. His family will receive an annual pension of 250,000 Lucis Gils, which is a hefty sum here in Lucis. He will also be granted with a land and a very healthy vineyard for growing wine and an automatic citizenship due to the Medals he has.

Once this war is over, I will pay back those troops who fought with the best I could offer. The same will go to my allies.

I also am looking forward to open trade between our two nations. The Commonwealth is a very powerful trading power.

East of Constantinus, 0800 Hours

In the morning of the 6th of June, The Lucis Paratroopers were walking towards the planned link up area. The Man in command was Captain Harusegawa. This Nippon is a very handy ally would would always follow orders. He led his paratrooper detachment. He was hoping that the other 5,100 Paratroopers of the 5,500 would reach their objective. Each team had a different objective. Then, At a distance, He could see the Jordslagian Paratroopers. They ran to them with their hands raised as an ally signal.

"Are we glad to see you." He said in his Nippon accent, shaking Captain Naalim's hand with a smile on his face. "I hope our boys would land smoothly today."

The Lucian-Nippon Paratroopers took their morning breakfast with the rations they bought. They needed at least a rest after last night's raid. Some even shared their breakfast with the Jordslagians who were eating breakfast.

"The East area from here has been secured since last night after our raid. So, We can still have time for morning tea." He said.

A Lucian Scout Team then arrived to make a report.

"Sir, All area surrounding here is clear of enemy presence. We can relax for a bit before the man force could arrive."

"Very good. Get some rest for now. You may eat breakfast if desired." He said.

The Scout team left and looked forward for a nice nap under a tree.

Sword Beach, 0830 Hours

"Any sign of those bastards?"

"Not yet. But ready your weapons."

The Sergeant made a short speech.

"Ok boys, ready up. Stand by. Let's give em' back for Ramsbury."

"Whoah, Did you hear that, Ramsbury sure, He was there at that time."

The Lucis Infantry Landed with almost signs of Enemy resistance.

"C'mon." The Private said. "C'mon out you dirty slobs, Flanagan's back!"

The Accordoan Bagpipe men tuned in to provide morale to the troops landing. Bagpipes were a common to raise morale. The Royal Navy didn't open fire to avoid allied casualties due to friendly fire. The bombardment already occurred in the previous hour. The Tanks soon landed to boost the push and to hasten the link up.

After 4 Hours, The battle was over. About 650 of the 6,500 Lucis Commando and Infantry troops died or wounded but the casualties were low since Sword Beach was almost abandoned by the enemy due to them shifting their forces to Milford Beach.

Olav swiftly read the letter, half-interested. Once he finished, he put it down. Pointing at Kreiss, he said, in his broken Lucisian: "You, boy. Gather you troops. I going to dust off uniform and launch a Attack on River Boyne. You King doesn't realize advantage of opening many fronts as possible." Then he hobbled over to the door, slipping out to gather his troops.

East of Constantinus, 0800 Hours
When a force outnumbering his men 10-1 walked over, he thought it was the Militants. Quickly getting his pistol, he was about to shoot himself when a panting aide burst into his tent and told him they were Nipponese and Lucian. Naturally, that made for an awkward moment as he put his gun down.

When the Nipponese Captain- Captain Harusegawa, as he introduced himself- shook his hand and said something about their men landing smoothly. He grunted and said, "I have no doubt." They laughed and went to the Breakfast tent.

Getting a simple meal made mostly of meat, he had a conversation with Harusegawa about the war. A Lucian Scout Team burst in to make a report, but there were no interruptions other than that. "You know, I find it funny that you need as many as 2,000. Back in Jordslag, a force like this would be able to hold out against your force for a month if necessary." He got more food, then sat back down with Harusegawa. "Numbers are always nice, however. Anyway, our goal is to go down to the Beach just to the East of Constantinus. Whether you follow us there or not is your choice. After that, we head inland and take on that Militant Unit behind us, Gruppe Joachim. You with me?" He asked.

As the Lucian Allies started an invasion near Constantinius, Bendian troops started moving to Insomia city with soldiers and tanks of the 2nd Exped Division and 1st Marshall Regiment.They prepared several ditches and trenches and started burning some buildings down and planted some B34's once more in several locations around the city.About 2,000 troops started regular patrols across the surrounding area.

While the 5th Exped Navy fighters started preparing on fueling and loaded with ammunition.

Meanwhile,North of Ramsbury, the Artillery Division started once more another shell barrage against force in Cassino and nearby areas.

Cassino, 1450 Hours

As acting command of the Royal Lucis Army in Cassino, Defence Minister Noel Kreiss, who he himself was a Brigadier decided to command the Lucis Army and give support to King Olaf IV's army who will attack on the River Boyne. In reserve, He had about 20,000 Troops, 70 Tanks and 50 Field Guns. They were ready to give support for as long as aid could arrive.

East of Constantinus, 0800 Hours

"Ok, I'm with you." He said. "My boys are ready and ready as ever."

Sword Beach, 1000

"Ok boys, Keep a move up."

Tanks, Vehicles and Infantry kept moving and unloading supplies. A 1km Beachhead had been established. The news from the Commonwealth and Gallian sector arrived. All the beaches had a very smooth landing thanks to the paratroopers who did their task of weakening the enemy defenses. The RAF has begun to march to Insomia City with only the No. 47 Commando, 47th Special Service Brigade, The Lucis 1st Armored Division and the King's Own Rifles of Tristain seperating from the main army to support the attack on Constantinus.

Insomia City, Capital of the UK, 1650 Hours

The combined Lucis-Nippon protests have arisen against the Militants and the Bendicians. Even the children joined with their fellows and rose up to resist the occupation. The City of Light had to wait for a little more.

Sea of Lucis, 1500 Hours

"Men, As officers of the Royal Air Force, We will attempt to bomb Ramsbury with every thing we have. You are all solid men and would accept any task with relish. No fear and No tears men. These Typhoon fighters are heavily modified to carry bombs. Your targets have been assigned so use extreme accuracy. You men only have 3 bombs so use it wisely. HMS Rodney and HMS Pandemonium will try to get near as much as possible to Ramsbury and pound the ground. The raid will schedule tonight."

Ramsbury, 2100 Hours

"Ok lads, Target those places. Barracks, Depots are our priorities. We must destroy the canons on Ramsbury or else Cassino will fall and the whole landing operation as well. So boys, Lets give those bastards what for."

The bombings began. Heavy anti air fire was faced and about 50 Fighters were downed of the 120 sent to bomb but with the firepower of the Royal Navy ships, The raid was done with success. The guns that were a threat to Cassino were destroyed. The pilots were actually familiar with Ramsbury and were briefed before the raid. They knew their targets and precisely dropped them at the right time.

Of the raid, 120 Fighters from the Royal Navy Carriers, 50 lost to enemy fire while 25 were damaged but were able to make it back.

"Sir,air attack on the 5th Artillery!We got 43 field artillery destroyed and some of our pieces destroyed."
"50 out of 270.Not a huge hit. Order the 5th's to start another attack on incoming enemy armor and troops.Radio the Insomnia defenders to abandon the posts and blow the whole city up with B34s.Call the 5th Fleet to start firing at the enemy in beachead positions.Got it private?"
"Yes sir!"

June 17th, 0750 Hours

With Insomia, The Capital on sight, The King personally ordered his troops to stand by.

A few days before

"Here, You men will drop during the night in the Capital. My people must find the courage to fight back so I'm sending you to raise their morale."

"But My King, I-"

"Major, I will get inside the city when the fighting gets intense. Insomnia must be spared from rubble."

"I am aware, My King."

"Very good. Now, Your plane leaves tomorrow night. You will go with 25 SAS troops"

The night of the following day.

In the woodlands near the capital, Major Bromley met with the Resistance Leader, Hasegawa Narita and Emmanuel Gerard. These two were the head of the resistance movement against the Bendician occupants and the Militants. The two have done their best to help the people fight back. Bromley had already told the two that the King will soon enter Insomnia and the invasion has begun. The Road to Liberation was underway.

In a munitions depot inside the city, The Resistance with the help of Bromley and the SAS troops managed to secure arms and munitions and supply the Resistance Fighters with weapons to help them fight back. The Resistance fighters were trained underground and were ready when the King was nearing the capital.

June 17th, 0750 Hours

Inside the city, The Lucis-Nippon Resistance rose in arms and fought against the Bendicion and Militant occupants. Many civilians ran for cover to avoid getting shot at. Street by street, The Resistance fought with their courage with the help of the SAS. The Lucis Flag was being held on by the civilians. The Militant Police Force changed their allegiance and fought alongside the Lucis-Nippon Resistance. When a fighter was down, the other would take his weapon and put it to good use. There was even an enemy tank which the enemy threatened to fire but was unable to due to most of the Militia Force changing their allegiance.

1050 people died and 1,500 were wounded fighting to liberate the capital.

A few hours later, The Commonwealth Troops arrived. The King stood up on a tank and took out a megaphone. Prince Ignis was also present. The military broadcasters immediately filmed this spectacular event was even on air automatically on every television and screen within the Lucis Isles.

Militant Troops fighting against Me, This is the King who you have turned your back on. This capital, Insomnia City has been a place of peace and of diplomacy and it shouldn't be destroyed by any. This city used to be a very good place where foreigners compliment, eat and socialize. This place is no place for fighting. My Father, Our former King had told me that Insomnia will be a prosperous city once I succeed which I have promised until this pathetic war began. I ask of you, My enemies who I now call as brothers and sisters, Please. Surrender and lay down your arms. This place is no place of fighting.

Why do you wish us to hide the emotion which seizes us all, men and women, who are here, at home, in Insomnia that stood up to liberate itself and that succeeded in doing this with its own hands?

As for the Bendicians, Reducing to rubble every Lucian Cities that you occupied is madness. Nothing but complete bloodshed and destruction. Is that how you treat your people, your allies, your enemy, your families, your homes, your lives, your children, yourselves and your future ?

Reducing this city to rubble with do nothing. This city will return to its former self but what about your lives? Once you destroy life, You can't replace or grow it again. Vengeance is not a quality of a good soldier, Blood is not a material of a good fighter, Destruction is nothing but an insolent word! When you destroy something that is held dear to someone, How will your loved ones react? How will the people react? How will the Lord grant you graces when you destroy anything valuable.

A person of bloodshed, destruction and redemption goes nowhere but in the streets selling matches with no one buying.

That is how I value every person I see. When my brother, Regius rebelled against me, I forgave him since He was still my brother and when he died, I had his body preserved. Why? It's because that's how I show my compassion to other people. They are who they are and I accept them.

I say again, Surrender, Enemy Garrison. My people, My soldiers, Your Militant allies now stand beside me, calling you to spare this city. If you destroy this as whole, Each of you will be criminals of a massacre of more than 5,000,000 or even a bigger number of people.

The shouts of "Spare! Spare! Spare!", "Surrender!" and "God Bless You!" filled the streets. Not one civilian didn't shout the famous lines.

In the building where the Bendician commander was, SAS troops had entered the building and surrounded the commander. The SAS pointed their guns at him. There were even Militants, who changed sides begging him to spare the city. In front of the window, The square was crowded with civilians. The King, Prince Ignis and a few others was among them.

The Broadcasters recorded the spectacular event. Priests, nuns came out and prayed in front of the Bendicion Command Building.

in seeing an evil force of militants be so cruel towards the people of lucis , the government of thompson island has sent 40,000 troops, 120 tanks, and 34(plus 17 transports) ships under the command of general connor thompson and admiral justin donovan to invade ramsbury in support of the commonwealth.we also send money and supplies to the commonwealth and ask for any help posssible in the ramsbury campaign. tthe landings where a success however we lost 1,700 troops during the landings. as of now they on the outskirts of ramsbury and are poised to invade the city any second. we have also taken control of an airfield able to support 40 planes, which we sent to the island. as of now the militants face a war on multiple fronts

The Commander was surrounded,left to right,his sweat was dripping.He knew what he had to do.

"Today,Lucis will forever remember Insomnia and Bodhum,and so be it that the Militants have gone against us.Today Bendicion will stand!For Bendicion!"

He pushed a button that was hidden in his hands,and at the same time he was shot all around.Bendian troops that were still surviving shot at buildings with launchers and grenades.While the rest managed to escape as Insomnia began to start shaking with explosives.

The 1st Marshall Regiment evacuated any escapeeing civilian and troops to the nearby city.About 1740 Bendian Marines died in the onslaught of traitory.But the memory will forever be laid on Lucian minds.

Across Lucis,Bendian Divisions started packing up and retreated to Ramsbury.The Boyne was abadoned,but defenses like mines and undrground spikes were stillthere.

The 5th started the travel away from Lucis and home to Bendicion.

Togerian forces in Nippon begin their assault, the night still young. They attack relentlessly, as the soldiers there aren't fully prepared, Togerians take casualties, but as with Bodhum they're plan worked, and the enemy was hit hard, clouds covering the moon provided the perfect cover , but lead to some friendly-fire. Snipers with night vision have taken out some officers.

ALLIED FRONT
Forces in Bodhum begin their second assault, the enemy still not fully recovered. Togerians bring in more supplies, using panzers to push the enemy back as they with air support use fast attacks to hit the enemy. Still 200 Togerians have died this far, the city will be captured, and then enemy will be sandwiched in. Booby traps making sure of it.

Filled with rage, The King ordered the main army to head south. He was going to have the Bendicians on trial once the war was over. The Militants still stood with its allies.

The Civilians got up to their feet and still stood up. Their inspiring leader was still alive and so did his staff. On the flagpole, The people tore down the Bendician flag and desecrated it. Many Bendician bodies were thrown into the river. The commander's body was kicked and spatted on.

The Lucis Flag once again flew in the air. He immediately went to the port and headed south to meet with King Olaf IV.

The King arrives in Cassino together with his wife, Queen Claire Caelum,His cousin Prime Minister Prince Ignis and his wife Queen Henrietta. The King met with King Olaf IV at last.

Another set of Bendian Armor,artillery and troops numbering 300, 100 and 12000 of the 2nd Marshall Regiment, a reserve of the 5th Artillery and 3rd Exped Division arrived from a port 12 km east of the city, they are one of the most veteran troops in Bendicion and had participated in numerous international wars.Not to mention Regius' war against the commonwealth.

In Ramsbury, Militant and Bendian Leaders started strategizing the commotion against the pushing Commonwealth.

"The River is a good defense if Handleheim collapses with its 3,000 Bendian garrision and 25,000 militant one.",speaks notable General Sam Burge.

"True,but remember the aftershocks if they attack again and again, the fortress could stop them but it cant stay forever.We have to prepare for an offensive.", says Militant General Vargas.

Suddenly the great Commander-in-Chief President Bendicion speaks from the leftmost part of the table flanked by 4 guards.

"With all notable conscience gentlemen, remember that the Lucians,i mean Commonwealth, is fighting in their lands.Any of our generals could take this threat on, we could crush their country but we could not take their spirit of liberty."

"True,then what do you suggest?"

"Tell the DIvisions 1,2 to stand by the road linking Marlborough and Cassino, order the 5th Exped Artillery to establish its SAM and LAM's near Castiglione that overlooks Handleheim. Then move thee 5th Fleet enemy troops near Constantinius and.."

"Yes sir?Is there a problem?"

"Nothing, order the Invicta--"

"Invicta!?"

"Yes order the Invictas to take position at Mt.Henricus, all of the Battalion."

"The Armor sir?"

"Launch them in a blitz when all are ready,but standby the new arrivals in reserve."
