The missiles flew out of the battleships like a torpedo out of a submarine, they then rushed to their targets at warp 7, destroying them completely. 150 enemy ships destroyed.

Orbital and anti-orbital defences destroyed 32 more ships.

Earth:

Orbital and anti-orbital defences destroy 130 chimeran ships. 20.500 chimeran soldiers and equipment destroyed on the ground. Fortress defences at full power.

Earth Orbit

The First Legion Fleet emerged from the Plane of Doom, followed mere seconds by the Leviathan and other Overmind forces who emerged from a Warp Rift. They were welcomed by the sight of Vektran and Portuguese fleets and defenses and instantly opened fire on them with Railguns, Plasma Turrets, Ion Cannons and Plasma Cannons while firing the occasional spread of torpedoes.
Armageddons launched their interceptors, having them swarm around the fleet's vessels to take out any incoming bomber craft trying to bomb the ships.
Bhaalgorns, still equipped with laser batteries, opened fire using those. Though less effective against larger, armoured craft than Legion Railguns, they had a much, much higher rate of fire, making them deadly to smaller vessels and fighter and bomber craft.
The Leviathan, along with the swarm of Corruptors, opened fire with deadly Spores that would begin mutating upon any hostile targets they hit, causing immense pressure on shields, wich rapidly drained their strength.
Meanwhile, swarms of Scourges sook out the heaviest enemy ships and defenses and struck them in large swarms like deadly, living bombs.
The Overmind's Guardians and Venolisks had different targets. While the Guardians took to bombarding planetary defenses and cities, carefully avoiding Spain, the fleet having recieved their offer of alliance, while the Venolisks raced down towards the planets, trying to evade as much incoming fire as possible, completely ignoring their own lossess.

Aboard one of the Armageddon-Class Warships, Infernal Rage, Senior Doomlord Khostrum oversaw the first assault. He was most pleased to hear that Spain wished to side with them, this would spare them the need for a potential beachhead on the planet itself, if it wouldn't fall to its neighbours atleast..

New Polypontia

What exactly the Vektran ships opened fire upon was unknown, there were no Legion Vessels in orbit nor did the Leviathan's arrive yet. Garrison forces speculated they'd gone insane with rage and hatred. Happened to the best of them.
Nonetheless the Garrison's Virophages continued bombarding their targets from the surface and the Garrison Hive had begun morphing more of the vicious things.

In the capitol city of Elvr'Mon, the Legion Embassy noticed the presence of a Vektran aircraft and the embassy's guard, 12 First Legion Veterans, immedeatly mobilised and moved towards the palace where they saw the dropship heading to, led once more by Battlemaster Dacgot.

4 of the 12 deployed Leviathans had now reached a colony each. Everywhere the same routine was performed.
Planetary defenses would open fire upon the Leviathans, the Leviathans would respond with massive blasts of Bioplasma and Toxic Spores while deploying massive amounts of Overmin Minions on the surface through Organic Drop Pods wich would then begin swarming planetary defenses, facilities and cities.
While doing this the Leviathan would deploy a few Guardians to destroy the Colony's Spaceports, to prevent escape.
A Psychic message would be sent shortly after the beginning of the assault, telling the Colony to surrender or face annihilation.

Aeiouian Leadership Communications Channels

Over the Aeiouian communications grid, the Overseers of the nation seem to all overlook a virtual model of what appears to be a spacecraft of sorts, along with what appear to be databanks of information about the craft. Of course, only an AI would be able to visualize this virtual environment, since it is all completely simulated by the machines.

This is all standard affairs for the Aeiouian leaders, as infrastructure designs are usually most effective when they have been engineered by the head Archailects of the Collective. Design meetings like this tend to occur incredibly frequently as a result.

"... and commander, while this design is indeed quite acceptable in most areas, I am afraid that it has a severe lack of armor. Five kilometers is simply not enough to ensure minimum levels of vessel durability and resilience."

"Eh... You're right. Perhaps ve should scrap ze whole design, then. We can probably come up vith something better."

The model of the ship in the Aeiouian virtual enviornment disappears, only to be replaced with messages and data received from the current conflict occurring in Portuguese space.

"Um. I'm pretty sure that message means that they're up to nothin' at all. I mean, they kinda just said that they were neutral and everything. Duh."

We do not intend to engage in actual combat for the time being, but should the conflict continue to escalate in severity, it may very well be a possibly. Let us hope that that does not occur, though.

The two Aeiouian ships, which are currently on their normal patrol routes, suddenly change course. They activate their Void Drives, using them to teleport themselves into the dimension that the Aeiouians use for faster-than-light travel.

They begin heading towards the Portuguese home system of Sol. However, due to the slow nature of Aeiouian FTL technology, it will most likely take them a decent time to arrive.

Outnumbered, the Vektran fleet stoically continued the combat against the enemy, using their overpowered shields to contrarest enemy fire, while using the fast and powerful close combat Battlecruiser to destroy as many enemy ships as possible

Admiral, hostile forces have attacked the Portuguese. 3rd and 5th fleet are subordinated to you, you are directed to assist Portuguese forces in any way possible while preventing civilian casualties. Federationist Jedi have attached a Jedi taskforce to your command, use them wisely.

He felt the hyperdrive spinning up below deck, it seemed that the crew had received the order to jump already. Several seconds later, the Executor-class dreadnought slid into hyperspace along with the combined might of three fleets and a Jedi taskforce.

Space ship debris fall from space, along with enemy projectiles, pounding the once beautiful landscape of Portugal and it's surroundings.
Anti-Orbital defences still shoot back, but a considerable quantity of them are either destroyed or damaged.

Tens of thousands of rocket assisted projectiles are fired towards space in the hopes that it hits something that's not an allied ship.
Every single Anti Orbital weapon in the arsenal is doing their best to protect our land.

Most of the Orbital defences are either out of ammo or destroyed.
The shield is struggling to stop the enemy projectiles.

On the ground, our troops are entrenched all over the once peaceful and safe nation and fighting an uncommon enemy and protecting the Anti orbital defences.
Chimeran and zerg troops wreak havoc inside the cities, but our troops are used to urban combat. Mech pilots do their best to unload every single weapon on the enemy. The airforce rid the skies of airborne enemy units, but they too are struggling to get their job done.

Fortunately, the citizens are safe and sound in other planets as refugees.

Radio communications are flooded with the voices of men, celebrating, crying, screaming, yelling, venting their anger on their enemies:

"We need reinforcements, we have suffered a lot of casualties, our lines won't hold on if we can't replace them! The enemy are just rushing towards our lines, they don't understand the concept of supressing fire!"
"F**K! Shoot them! Shoot them all!"
"Requesting air support! NOW! WHat do you mean the airforce isn't available!"

As Frenline Delpha squadrons mobilized on the ground, and a small armadad of their ships got ready to engage Novaya forces, Frenline Delpha has been planning a suprise for their enemies. The reportis filed below.

Operation Holy Grail of Doom

Plan: Since the Doom Legions decided to deliver a premptive strike against the Federation of Portugal, we will be taking the war to their soil. We are sending 50 armadas of ships to start bombing runs and troop transports. We have plans to also send ships to the Portugal blockade. The first step is to start sending in transports. They will start attacking strategic military posistions. We have at least 15 juggernauts and 500 plamsa rifle soilders in each batallion. As soon as our troops have set up posistion around important structures, we will begin bombing runs on the country. The first wave should take them by suprise, but as soon as they are alerted, we should begin activating our shields, as we are expecting heavy Anti-Air fire. Should our first platoon get destroyed, we will then start forming bloakcades around both the airspace and the land borders of the country. We will keep troops on Doom Legions soil until the war is over.
Platoons: Each platoon will consist of 15 juggernauts. Each juggernaut carries a Plasma Cannon, and wears heavily bullet-preventive armor. There will also be 500 plasma soilders. Each soilder carries the lastest Plama Rifle. The tank can hold 100 shots, and each shot only requires 2 mL to fire. Besides that, we have 12 transport ships dedicated to deliverin our CP-9 Plasma Armornauts. These lead beasts have two arms that have a flamethrower attached. There is also a MG attached on the underbelly of the flamethrower. Each transport ship holds 3 Armornauts. They are heavily protected, requiring several shots to penetrate the armor. A select few soilders are equipped with meat grinders, which can fry a medium armored enemy in seconds. They take at least 10 seconds to fire. They are capable of moving through at least 25 enemies at a time.
Bombing ships: Our class K, G7 bombing ships will be responsible for doing the bombing of the country. These hulks have shields that protect from at least 10 SAM missiles. They can carry at least 1,000 lbs. of explosive bombs in their hull. There are also two side grende launchers on the sides of the ships. These can be used to dispatch smaller targets on the ground.

Actions: Operation Holy Grail of Doom is a go.

Earth Orbit

The Legion vessels of the First Fleet were taking quite a pounding, but as more and more hostile Anti-Orbital defenses were disabled, overrun or ran out of ammo incoming fire decreased, granting the fleet more breathing space.
Then, a total of five Warp Rifts opened up, signaling the arrival of the Second Fleet. Atleast, the Overmind part of it. The Legion forces of the Second Fleet were delayed, though Heavy Planetcrackers were formidable assets, their mobility was pure crap and it struggled with moving through The Plane of Doom.
This put a bit of a bummer into Doomlord Khostrum's plan, he would have preferred planetary invasion to go under the covering fire of a Heavy Planetcracker and Armageddon-Class Warships, but since they hadn't arrived yet he'd have to make do with what he had right now.
Aboard his flagship, The Infernal Rage, Khostrum sat in his Command Chair, stroking his beard.
"Delayed.. Great. Because that's something we could use right now. Ugh.." The Doomlord said with a frustrated sigh, but he quickly recovered his cold calmness.
"No matter, their defenses are faltering sooner than expected so we don't need that much fire support. Contact the freshly arrived Leviathans! Have them unload their forces onto the planet surface and have the other Leviathan deploy forces at Spain, we'll be able to make good use of their territory in the assault." He ordered, and quickly his personnell relayed the orders to the designated Leviathans.

The five freshly arrived Leviathans, having recieved their orders, approached the planet, well protected by their swarms of Corruptors, and deployed their forces via Organic Drop Pods. They landed in numerous places on earth. Many landed in France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg, Germany and Switzerland. Others found their way to the Balkan, Turkey and Russia. Some even landed in America, Mexico and Canada. Others misfired or were brought off course by incoming fire and landed in the ocean, smaller creatures managed to survive in the water and began swimming to the nearest land, but larger creatures were unable to swim and drowned.

In Spain, next to minions there were also a couple Hives brought down to the surface to help fortify the nation against the French.

New Polypontia

Around the Legion Garrison, a sort of network of Virophages was starting to form, expanding throughout the forests of the land, hidden by the trees, firing barrage after barrage at Vektran vessels in space, who were being covered in mutating Spores, eating away at Shields, Hulls and Weapons Systems of their victims.
Swarms of Swarmlings had been spawned and mobilised by the Garrison Hive, ready to strike at hostile offensives against the Legions' ally.

"Zerg... My great grandfather dealt with them once! They are almost unstoppable. Almost. These things rely on sheer numbers to reach victory. I just hope we have enough ammo."

"Sir, they are engaging the Zerg... I got a message from Germany, it says: Bio-weapon deployed on fatherland, incendiary weapons effective."

"Well, you heard the man. Deploy plasma weaponry..."

"Wait, sir. Frenline Delpha sent troops to aid us and they have plenty of heavy troops and plasma weaponry."

"Well, i guess so. Send a message to them. Tell them to help us hold off the Zerg. Thank the heavens for them."

"YES! Sir, a Heavy Fortress Fleet from Rigel 3B arrived. They have a Titan."

Sol System

The Two Aeiouian vessels finally arrive at their destination. Due to the stealthy nature of Aeiouian transportation technology, no bright flash of light or other bit of visual fanfare occurs signalling their arrival from the Void. With the vessels just seeming to appear out of nowhere.

"This is captain 2512-A, callsign Iron. All systems are operational."

"5612-B, callsign Light. Everything checks out on my end as well."

The two ships seem to make preparations, deploying large numbers of strange Aeiouian repair systems, amongst other devices.

"Hey, uh. You guys seein' the planet? There's a massive bioweapon infestation. The Doom Legions have deployed their Overmind forces to the area. They're controlled and networked similarly to how we are, and will probably be a major threat to any biological civvies if they decide to be hostile to us. Keep your heads on a swivel."

M-1274987-2 Orbit

The 19th Battlefleet emerged from the void not far from the second planet in the solar system containing the Portuguese capital, and began to launch a massive swarm of Disciple-class Bombers. The Aircraft were equipped with weapons designed to obliterate a small city or enemy battleship, and would now unleash their potent payload on the Federation.The Bombers are also equipped with interplanetary VOID Drives, allowing them instantaneous transit to the capital world.

Krios watched the massive swarm of bombers, knowing that the Portuguese defences would be unable to shoot them all, and that hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Federation civilians would be slain in the attack. He had no wish to slay so many noncombatants, but the Council had changed his orders whilst he had been travelling to this system. The Bombers entered the Void, reappearing almost instantly on the very edge of the Portuguese atmosphere, and dived towards their prey.

From the atmosphere, as swarm of unknown bombers dove towards Lisbon, their target was unknown.

Anti-Aircraft lazer towers soon took their toll on them, but it wasn't enough, as the skies were filled with them.

The remaining fortress defences fired at them aswell, and that proved to be quite useful.

Soon, over 10.000 mobile AAA were all over the nation, ready to fire.

The sky turned gray from all the gunpowder smoke.

The Battle armor dragons were finally deployed, ready to wreak havok on the invaders in the soil.

Project "Crystal Blue" is about to be deployed.

Balatian Capital, Heinessen

Juan Garcia Marques, the Supreme Chairman, is finally resting from a long day of debacle in the High Council. Some taxes had to be eliminated, and some of the ministers didn't like that. Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he looked forward at a boy who had appeared with a message in his hands.

"What is it?", he asked.
"A war! The friendly nation protecting our tourism and pilgrim routes to Earth has engaged in a war with a massive coalition!", the boy declared.
"Damn! We've got to help them, get the fleet ready!", Juan's eyes were glimmering as the Homeland Fleet of Balat could finally be mobilized to do anything but military exercises. With the current population growth, they had finally managed to fill up the ships with crewmen, at least enough to mobilize all of the 13,000 vessels. With extra help from the Iserlohn Fortress Spaceport, they wouldn't have any trouble managing their way to the frontlines.

Lasalle Lobos, Admiral of the Homeland Fleet since its inception, was on his way out, and this campaign would be his retirement. Gathering the men in a preparatory speech, he simply declared "Let's go in there, and save our friends, shall we?", met with a rush of cheers and ovation from the crowd inside the Heinessen National Stadium. With that, the nation started its mobilization: War taxes were raised, reserves were called to action, and a total of four million men were mobilized, to man the 13,000 vessels of the Homeland Fleet. They departed the following week.

Balat joins the war on the Portugal 28XX coalition's side.

The Homeland Fleet's destination is the Home System of Portugal 28XX, with the following amounts of units:

OOC: Since the whole thread seems to be uniformly just 'post whatever force attacking' with zero detail I'll conform to it. Also, please slow it down.

The Pyrenees

The sudden French offensive at the border was not a surprise at all, and indeed the Spanish had things in the bag waiting for them. The fortifications of the Pyrenees were near-impregnable, using a combination of old-fashioned incredibly thick walls for citadels as well as energy barriers against energy weapons. The Legion assistance effort was indeed appreciated, combining two great forces the French effort would have become futile. French mountain divisions that tried crossing the Pyrenees were met with combined Legion and Spanish firepower, the artillery destroying their formations and the organic creations cutting the survivors down. Enemy armour advance was stagnated by the presence of local citadels, swamped in these areas they then became live targets for Spanish artillery and armour.

Orbital bombardment was also carried out on the French. Cities such as Paris and Nantes became priority targets of tungsten rod shelling, while most of the rods failed to bypass the countermeasures of the French some did indeed do some damage. Weakening the defences of the French cities, Legion hives could then pour in and destroy the pathetic republican fools.

Gipuzkoa however without the natural defences was a more soft target for the French. Here, the Spanish tried to swamp French advances with Stalingrad tactics, at this time what may seem to be disgusting zerglings even Spanish space colonialists had to face before became their best friends. Fierce fighting broke out in Irun, the scene not too dissimilar with the one hundreds of years before, only with lasers.

Earth Orbit

A group of 30 Rick Astley-class cruisers and 5 Khil-class destroyers, supplied by the PTFS through a deal years earlier, did not come late to the battle. Identifying the positions of Marsh and Chimera fleets the Spanish fleet provided support to those, while insane and doubted of their abilities, very important allies. The Spanish fleet, although small, was durable with PTFS constructs never to be underestimated of their abilities. They bombarded the Portuguese ships, using hit and run tactics to provide maximum disturbance while concentrating weaponry to deal maximum damage.

There was to be more Spanish fleets warping in from the distant colonies, and while near-insignificant the Spanish firmly believed in the water being able to drip through the stone over time. The mosquito is not to be ignored.

Gathered in Castile and León and Andalusia was about 45 Spanish divisions, 570,000 men and women, along with 230,000 unmanned ground vehicles, most of them Spanish interpretations of PTFS LAADUs and hovertanks. Much of them were forces from the Middle East and reclaimed areas of South America. The infantry, with gauss assault rifles in their hands, awaited the order from the headquarters for them to march across the border. Air support was also ready to be dispatched. There was, in fact, 10 PTFS volunteer divisions among the forces, though their nationalities have all been switched over to 'Spanish' and so could avoid direct hostilities once reports of 'gas-masked people in flak vests are invading Portugal' spreads out. Both sides have mobilized considerable forces, though either way the Spanish outnumbered the Portuguese with a total of 55 divisions, 620,000 troops, 238,000 AGVs, 3,450 mecha, 6,720 tanks and 1250 aircraft...against just 13 divisions of the Portuguese.

Midnight has come, the explosions in the skies and up among the stars meaning that it was going to be a sleepless night, the sky still as bright as daytime. All of a sudden, the forces received a visual message broadcasted in their headgear, instructing them to launch the offensive on the Portuguese.

The hovertanks rushed across the border, opening fire at Portuguese border garrisons with full force. The aircraft started the bombardment of enemy positions, raining down thousands of missiles upon the Portuguese. From two directions, 30 divisions in the Zamora-Porto route and 25 in the Seville-Lisboa route, the Spanish aimed to completely overwhelm the Portuguese confusing their priorities over which direction they should defend. With the Spanish was also considerable Legion forces, though these numbered less due to that the bulk of Legion forces did not yet have the time to gather up. The barbed wires at the borders were no more, the energy barriers now being put to test. European route E90 was now riddled with mines and local civilian defences called up, in case the Portuguese tried a counterattack.

Sol Starzone (or Sol System), near Pluto

Within three days, the fleet under the command of Lasalle Lobos made its way through the corridor between the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy and the Orion Arm, gathering with the Iserlohn Fortress stationed there. The fleet stationed itself inside the spaceport, and the Iserlohn Fortress spent the entirety of the next day preparing to warp to the Sol Starzone, reaching its outskirts in the early morning of the fourth day of their departure from the Ba'alat Starzone.

"Successful warp complete!", an officer reported to Lasalle Lobos, who sat on his command chair in the bridge of the powerful Ajax-class flagship he captained. "Great. Switch to intra-system engines. We will station the Fortress between the Earth and the Moon. Get the men ready, before afternoon we will be within their range. Get the batteries loaded, the Thor Cannon must be ready to fire at a moment's notice!", Lasalle was livid. The Homeland Fleet was finally back in action, and in style! The Iserlohn Fortress would provide a formidable support against opponents located in space, and they'd be able to offer repairs to friendly ships, and rotate manpower very easily.

The million man garrison divided itself in two, as half the garrison turned into boarding militia to man the Strike Ships temporarily. Armed with combat spacesuits, battleaxes, laser pistols and laser rifles, they were ready to ram into enemy ships, and invade them.

The Iserlohn Fortress has entered the Sol Starzone, and is currently 5 AUs (2495 light-seconds) away from Earth, moving towards the dark side of the planet, and seeking to position itself inbetween the Moon and the Earth. The Homeland Fleet is fully mobilized and ready to leave the liquid metal surface of the Forterss to retaliate against any interceptors, and half a million operators stand ready to control the turret systems located around the fortress' surface. The Thor Cannon is fully loaded, and ready for use.
