Today at 16:21 a group of Ardoki Nationals gained entry into the Colony of Alraibris in an effort to spread Atheism to the people of the Colony. Reports came in of door to door solicitation from people who were unknown in the neighborhoods. When the individuals were confronted by the authorities it was found out that they were in fact Nationals of the Nation of Ardoki.
When these persons were confronted about what they were doing, they spat at the officers and began to chant anti-religion rhetoric and were promptly ordered to desist all activities and leave the Colony as per the Imperial Decree that was issued not one week prior. When they refused, the officers attempted to arrest them but were met with force. An officer was injured when he was struck by a baton that was hidden up a sleeve of one of the Ardoki. The officers had to use force to put down the suspects and it resulted in minor injuries to all four men and women. All of them were taken to area hospitals under police guard and are listed in Fair condition. They are expected to make a full recovery.
To Trial or Not To Trial? That is the question
Currently as it stands under Shazbotdom Law, those arrested under Imperial Law are held for 1 week in a detention center until such a time as information on the case has been vetted by both the Prosecution and the Defense Attorneys behind closed doors where they are given a chance to settle out of court. But for high profile cases such as this, that portion is normally bypassed and the case either goes straight to trial or is brought straight before Judge Joseph Noormand, one of the best and most feared judges in relation to Imperial Law. Known for his no nonsense attitude, he doesn't allow attorneys to get away with bending the rules of the courts to their will.
"The reason why high profile cases are so important to the safety of the Empire is that those who were arrested," he stated 3 years ago when he heard a case on a foiled terrorist plot, "are of the worst of the worst. If a case is important enough to be brought before me, I will see it with the best of my ability and will give out the fairest verdict that I can. Those found guilty will get the maximum possible sentence while those found innocent will get their lives back."
It has yet to be determined who will hear the case or if the case will even go before a Judge. Several times in the history of the Empire has a case like this, that has to do with Imperial Decrees, skipped the courts and is heard by either Judge Noormand, or is heard exclusively and behind shut doors by the Supreme Emperor himself. The last known case that was heard by a National Leader within the Empire, though, was roughly 35 years ago during the George A. Loak Administration. The defendant was found guilty and executed by Firing Squad the next day at an undisclosed location. Will we see the same thing with this case? Will it go to a Jury Trial, a Judicial Trial or go straight to the Supreme Emperor? Only time will tell.
"My father has not yet decided if he will hear this case or not, but if he does you can be sure that the Ardoki will have to prove their case beyond a doubt. I do not mean a Reasonable Doubt, I mean beyond ANY doubt."

"They call those who believe in Religion 'inhuman', well their past as well as their current leadership seem more inhuman than the rest of the world."

"I want to watch them burn!"
