That's not really what I was going for... I was really going for more of a city theme really, considering we're a city-state ourselves. They really don't have to be video, but you can start with our flag, as it's a rather simple one.

Palmouth would prefer country based postcards, to make it fair.

Hmm... what do you mean by a city theme? What sort of things would you want in the postcards? (i.e. buildings, people, scenes, etc.)

Indeed, my original idea was to have views of the capital or other major city of particpating countries, but I don't really think that will work, because we don't know how every nation's cities look like.

I guess any combination of those will do really... we'll see what we can get.

The 2008 Postcards featured the flag, a Serbian staple, and a letter from the performers in their native language.

The 2009 Postcards featured the Miss World from Russia, buildings of the performing nation, and her hair and T-shirt would feature the colors of the country that would perform. Next, a romanized expression in Russian with its meaning in English happened, and then the performance.

To make it different, you can have the staples of the country (being a city-state, there should be more than 30 buildings and monuments), featuring performers, and the flag of the nation.

Or, you can do the postcards on-scenario. Quickly after a band performs, Sophian people make a performance and create the flag of the nation that performs next, either in English or French, and its native tongue.

I'll change my flag.

French and English are the official languages of many organizations, take it the EBU. Meanwhile, only one language can be used, and the host country's.

I'd guess that most countries vote based on which country they think will do the best hosting... not the country with the longest bid post... I remember in WorldVision 3, the winning host bid, form Bazalonia, was only 2 lines long and had no pics.

Right, so let me see if this is the idea we're thinking of for the postcards... you want famous buildings from Sophia City. Then, a welcome message in the language of the country about to perform, followed by the country's flag. For the background music... you could either have a different Sophia City band in each postcard, or they could each feature a band from the country about to be shown. Thoughts on that idea?

Yeah, that will work... the other idea is to use buildings from other participating countries, but I already metnioned the problem with that...

Yeah, it's a good idea. I'm also very sick of this forum always logging me out.

The last few posts were about this... we decided that they should feature buildings, a message in the language of the country about to perform (ex. Polish for Sophia City) and with the flag of that country appering somewhere in the postcard. A popular song that is not a WorldVision entry goes in the backround.

The last question is whether to use buildings from the country about to perform, or the host country.

Oh, and youtube isn't all that great.

I do not feel I have the right kick any-one I want from the contest... you should read up on the rules of the contest... cover versions of RL songs are not allowed. So I asked if you were going to follow it this time, and you chose to turn it into an argument about last year's entry.

Given your entry and votes in the last contest I think it's only fair that you at least confirm that your song is original. I read through your lyrics several times, and they were the same as an RL song. That is against the rules. When you were asked to provide one line of lyrics you'd written yourself, you didn't reply.

Now, about your votes...
