Commander-in-Chief Changes Government Position

In an interesting announcement today, Commander-in-Chief David Santorez, member of the Dragon Court and the second most powerful in the group, has announced that he is dissolving the position of Commander-in-Chief. This is due to how the position of Secretary of War and Commander-in-Chief are virtually the same thing, therefore Mr. Santorez has decided to drop the title of Commander-in-Chief and instead replace Fredrick Jones as Secretary of War.

This decision was approved by Congress, with 115 in the Senate and 389 in the House of Representatives voting in favor of approving Santorez's decision. Now, Santorez is Secretary of War, while Jones is now Army Chief of Staff, serving under Chief of the Army Amanda Van Eaton's jurisdiction.

Memory Wall Erected

After 2 years of searching through old population records and current census' and 7 months of carving, the imported Obsidian memory wall has been finished in front of the battle of TC monument. With hundreds of thousands of names of civilians and rebels who died in the Kargata Rebellion that brought about Haw's freedom, thousands attended the engraving of the final name on the stone this morning in a national day of remembrance of those who left this realm. Now marked as Haw's "Soul Free" day, all used this day to remember any lost relatives and soothing any who have also lost, this day of sadness will now be marked as a national holiday for Haw, and the revitalization of the education system will now gain (almost) the full attention of the government.

Las Dunas-Yesterday rumors of tigers eye in the mines near Las Dunas were confirmed when an official excavation team entered the lower levels of one of the mines. They found a huge amount, at least a couple hundred thousand Pecuniams worth. There is predicted to be much more in the surrounding mines. The senate is preparing to debate on what to do with it.
As for Luke Sebastian, the the senator of Ignis? He was asked the states stand on the discovery, and this was his response:
"I believe that the discovery will cause a major improvement for the quality of life here in Ignis. We are miners, and whenever we find something new to mine, wealth just shoots up for everybody. I am definitively for mining the mineral."
The excavation team is preparing to search other mines around Felix Terra for more tigers eye. More information will be reported as it becomes available.

This just in. Emperor Arcadius Secundus has abdicated for 'reasons of ill health". He has reportedly been assigned the estate of Macellum, traditionally the private property of Caesars, but "leased" as a pension to this new occupant.

The Sacred Consistory, in a stunning reversal, has proclaimed deposed Emperor Flavius Decentius as Augustus of the East, Pontifex Maximus, and Lord of the World again. The restored Emperor has urged "calm and confidence in our national future, as we seek unity and brotherhood, peace and prosperity, freedom and justice for all. This is a new order, dedicated to the original ideals and principles of our commonwealth, which have too often been forgotten by past regimes of late. This New Age will be one of cooperation and solidarity with those who accept our olive branch. As the Holy Scripture says, 'There is a time for war and a time for peace.' Well, fellow Romans, this is a time for peace."

The new Emperor has called for elections for a "constituent assembly", as sought by the strikers. The result has been an immediate and dramatic dispersal of the demonstrations. He has also legalized the Green and Communist parties, saying, "There is no point to driving them underground. It is better to debate and refute them than to arrest them."

He has also reversed virtually all of the "repressive policies that seek to deny the light of knowledge to those whose only crime is to born with two X chromosomes." Part of the New Commonwealth, as the Emperor calls his new agenda, is to push "universal and cooperative education for the brotherhood of man, so as to better understand Father God, Mother Nature, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Darkness and ignorance serve none but the wicked and profane, while light and knowledge serve our Lord and the Kingdom of God."

Nearly all of the "New Commonwealth" proposals resemble almost identically the program of the "Charter of Roman Freedoms".

The capital of Hibernion has been renamed from Hiberniopolis to Chancellor City. This name change is official and the news has not yet reached the entire nation.
Though many people were for this name change, they are used to calling in Hiberniopolis. Hibernion must also upgrade all of its maps to include the new name of Chancellor City. Chancellor Citizens, as the city dwellers are called, are glad to see a change after twenty- four years of their nation's history.

Seven candidates finalised in race for ArghNeedANamic presidency

The candidates have been finalised in the upcoming election for the President of ArghNeedAName. The President is not as powerful as the Prime Minister and his influence limited mainly for foreign policy. This is why foreign policy, which has been quite eventful lately, will be the dominant issue in the election campaign. The right-wing opposition will also be pushing for the election to be seen as a referendum on the performance of Prime Minister Bacon and the coalition of the Labour, Green and Christian Democratic Parties. The Green party is not running a candidate but actively supporting Whitacre, while in accordance to the coalition agreement, the CDP is not fielding a candidate and expressing neutrality.

Malcolm Whitacre - Labour Party (supported by Green Party)
The incumbent president since the 2010 election which coincided with the left-wing coalition increasing their majority in Parliament. Critics have described him as "ArghNeedAName's Weakest President" due to the influence Bacon has had over him, since the Prime Minister sponsored Whitacre's nomination as Labour's candidate for President in the 2010 elections. Whitacre was previously the Governor of Kixas, ArghNeedAName's most populous province, and had been the first Governor to come from the Labour Party in 30 years. His background of governing a blue state helps allow him to appeal to swing voters and even conservatives. As the incumbent, Malcolm Whitacre automatically has access to the ballot.

Nick Edwardson - Reformist Party
Edwardson Prime Minister of ArghNeedAName who served from 2002 to 2006. During this time in office, he presided over good economic growth but voters eventually became frustrated with the gridlocked coalition, with his two coalition partners (the CDP and FRP) at loggerheads with each other on many social issues. This led to Bacon's narrow victory in 2006, leaving Edwardson a one-term Prime Minister. Despite this, the "NME" (his unfortunate initials) is fairly well-liked by voters. He won the primary for the conservative Reformist Party with 55% of the vote in a three-way race.

David Gellert - Party of Democratic Values
Out of the seven parties in Parliament, the Party of Democratic Values is the only one to have nominated its leader for the post of president. The party has been led bu David Gellert since its founding, who is a former mayor of Chechester. The PDV is a right-wing populist party which opposes immigration, though on economic issues the party is close to the centre. Gellert himself is an outspoken and controversial critic of Islam and ponyism, but even members of his own party have questioned whether he would be suitable for representing ArghNeedAName on the world stage. Although he wants to increase military spending, he is mostly against military intervention.

Laura Jones - Free Republic Party
Jones is the current floor leader in the Senate of the Free Republic Party, a classical liberal party with the most right wing economic policies of the seven parties in Parliament. The party combines this with social liberalism and "small government" idealogy, including supporting legalisation of soft drugs and devolution of powers of the government to the provinces. The party believes that military intervention should be strictly limited to the worst humanitarian crises, but after a heated debate it came out in support of joining the Kasten War.

Anthony Levin - Socialist Party
Levin was a Minister of Education in Bacon's two previous cabinets. He was also deputy leader of the party and played a role in resolving the leadership crisis that nearly split the party just before the last elections. Levin is a non-interventionist and argues for diplomatic solutions to crises. The Socialists suffered big losses in the last parliamentary elections and Bacon was forced to replace them with the Christian Democratic Party as coalition partners.

Martin Lubbers - Party for Freedom
Lubbers is the newly elected Party for Freedom, after the party's founder Trevor Green was expelled for supporting Luziyca in the Kasten War. The right-wing party did surprisingly well in the previous election, coming close to crossing the 5% threshold, although the leadership crisis damaged their popularity. Lubbers is the new leader of the party which combines hard-right economic policies with neo-conservative foreign policy which actively intervenes to overthrow dictatorships around the world.

Anthony Parkinson - Communist Party
Parkinson holds the record for the largest number of presidential campaigns of anyone in ArghNeedAName - he's been on the ballot for six elections, though never recieved more than 2% of the vote. The longtime leader of the far-left Communist Party calls for nationalisation of all banks and major industries and declaration of war on the rich, though a President would have no control over the economy.

The military dictator General Roman Sarakeiv was today "celebrated" at a pricey party funded dinner for building Radakstan a powerhouse of an economy. High ranking party members were in attendance along with donors, high ranking military figures, sympathetic elitists and known radical socialists. The dinner featured live music, speeches, the dinner itself and the ceremony for General Sarakeiv.

While the RIN fully understands and supports Radakstan's need for a thriving economy what it does not support is the way the government have achieved it. Since their bloody coup in 2008 the now named UMP have had big plans for a big economy and have ruthlessly carried them out in order to reach their goal. This has included some huge tax's on businesses not to their liking, concerning budget cuts and a heft increase in taxes. In short the UMP have ploughed billions into the public sector in the areas they saw fit and completely neglected those areas that do not fit their "model". With very little political opposition the UMP has had free reign over the country's budgets.

So now we have a world class economy what are the UMP going to do with all the cash? Who knows, but what we are sure of is it will not be handed down to the people, we expect to see it flushed back into state owned business and organisations to increase profits before the cycle begins again.

The sickening dinner party saw General Sarakeiv himself close the night with a speech. Our "leader" told his guests how it was a life changing honour to serve Radakstan in such a way and how the UMP's "Utopian Model" was starting to really take shape. He told the room that a powerhouse economy was only the first step in the model and how now we move onto step two.

The general went on to speak about how proud he was of all those who supported the UMP and how those who oppose the party are traitors and wish to see Radakstan held back. He denied any human and civil rights violations stating that the strict rules and iron fits governing were needed to protect our independent status. He once again described Radakstan as a free standing, politically pioneering nation admired by the world.

The General tried to prove that his constant blocking of the WA and his flat out refusal to join had been a key factor in the economic success. He said that by not being a part of the WA Radakstan was free to spread her wings and sore. His infamous hatred for the WA once again creeping into his official speeches, his minions of course applauded.

So the party have celebrated it's own ill gotten gains whilst ignoring the downtrodden people who worked their fingers to the bones and had most of their earnings taxed while being imprisoned in their own country by the authoritarian government.

Ever since the Civil War, Hibernion has been strengthening its government and stripping citizens of civil rights. Hibernion also engaged in disputes with a host of nations, standing up for terrorists and fascist nations. The chancellor has vowed that the government will remain centrist, but he is merely making the nation stronger in case of war or a bloody conflict. The citizens do not seem to be bothered by this because they are a religious and moralistic nation that is willing to do whatever they can to follow Christ. A survey was taken and most Hibernians said they would prefer to be ruled by a dictatorship rather than a democracy.

Truck bomb explodes in central Port of Leinster

GLEANDERRY — A bomb has exploded near the Federal Soviet Building in central Gleanderry, according to reports from the Talamnian Popular Militia, which has mobilised to aid search and rescue operations. At least fifteen deaths have been confirmed — including at least three mandated delegates to the Federal Soviet — with a further 192 people injured. The casualty toll is expected to rise as the search for survivors continues.

The bomb, which early reports indicate may have been hidden in a delivery truck, appears to have been sufficiently powerful to justify speculation as to it having been the work of counter-revolutionary agents linked to international capitalism-statism. At the time of going to press, the Gleanderry Commune was initiating an investigation into the matter. No person or organisation has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.

International Neo-Nazi Terror Group Claims Responsibility For Federal Soviet Blast

GLEANDERRY — An international Neo-Nazi terrorist organisation, with links to the government of the USA, has claimed responsibility for the truck bomb which detonated outside the Federal Soviet Building at 13h15 this afternoon. The "Brotherhood for an Aryan Reich" (BAR), which is known to receive aid from the CIA, claimed in an evidently hastily typed statement on its website that the blast was "in revenge for all the Aryan brotjers [sic] who have died fighting the commie scum".

As of 16h55, the current death toll of the explosion stands at twenty-nine, with scores more injured. The Gleanderry Commune has appointed a mandated committee to investigate the blast. Cde Saiorse da Costa, the chairperson of the committee, claims that there is reason to believe that the BAR is merely attempting to claim the glory for an attack carried out by someone else, and that other possibilities cannot yet be ruled out.

Greto Embassy Attacked!!!
Embassy Row, Slivary City-Today the embassy of the nation of Greto was attacked. The assilant, Mason Klink, 33, entered the embassy by force and then held a hostage at gunpoint. His motives are not yet clear. He entered the embassy while being chased by SBI agents who wanted to bring him in for questioning. After an neturalization attempt went wrong, Klink was shot in the arm and the hostage was killed by klink. Embassy security quickly secured Klink and his current custodial state is being determined. President Gill will be releasing a statement shortly.

Trial of Robert Matibili still unscheduled

The military tribunal at Durban set up to prosecute the captured leader of the Congaree Liberation Front (CLF) has not yet announced a trial date.

Robert Matibili has reportedly continued to resist responding to questions, as he did during his capture and closed arraignment. IntAf sources do say that at one point he launched into a tirade denouncing the legitimacy of the Southron government and its authority to try him as a war criminal. After refusing to silence himself he was removed from the chamber. His lawyers have steadfastly declared he is mentally unfit for trial.

Self-proclaimed chairmen of the Congaree Liberation Front, Robert Matibili is charged with a series of attacks over the last 30 years involving the deaths of hundreds of people. He has personally been charged with seventy-nine counts of murder of civilians, police, and military personnel, and the murder of 147 officers and crew aboard the HMSS Huku. Several of his lieutenants and self-appointed cabinet members are facing similar trials currently.

A judge overturned a request to have all evidence obtained during routine Internal Affairs (IntAf) interrogations thrown out, though the defence claims it was gained via torture. Allegations of IntAf committing torture on captured CLF terrorists has met with hostility in the public arena. A prevailing view of "fair turnaround" remains over the many cases of CLF torture of hostages and other victims.

Robert Matibili and his accomplices were captured in a lightning raid by IntAf agents and C Squadron-SAS operatives last year. The raid, authorized by His Grace Duke Friedle, was based on intelligence gathered by IntAf agents and CLF defectors. The speed and professionalism of the assault ensured no deaths, and solidly ended a lifetime of guerrilla war by the CLF leader.

With Matibili's capture and trial, the dominion breathes safely for the first time since the marxist Congaree Liberation Front appeared in bloody arms nearly a century ago amid the chaos of the First Great War. Though crushed and nearly destroyed, the CLF spent the last nine decades eking out an existence based on crime and terrorism in the hinterlands and swamps of the dominion. Control of the terrorist organization passed from father to son, from its founder Cassius Matibili to his great-grandson Robert. Many of Robert's sons had been killed in the last few years, and several still remain at large.

The Royal Southron Constabulary is coordinating with IntAf to prevent a possible CLF reaction by heightening security levels and deploying more constables. Citizens are urged to keep calm and "look out for one another, as always," says Chief Constable James McIntyre. Police and IntAf officials have stressed the seriousness of the situation.

Others have been more blatantly upbeat; "Marxism in Southron is finally dead," declared one anonymous IntAf agent.

Yes, this child is the first female child born to the royal family since the nation’s founding. This is also the first time in one hundred years the royal family has had more than one child. Prince Andrew is the elder sibling of the newborn princess, and is apparent excited on becoming a big brother.

Felix Terra joins NATO

PROTECTA-Yesterday, Felix Terra was accepted into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Although the Supreme Chancellor dislikes the more militant policies of NATO, he claims it is the first step to becoming a true influence on the world stage.

The isolationists are not so happy, however. After word of the acceptance reached citizens, protesters gathered in front of Capitol Tower holding signs saying things like, "NATO:Killing innocents since 1949" and "Leave before we become like them". Police have been, so far, unsuccessful in breaking up the sit-in. Although the protests remain peaceful, authorities advise staying away from Capitol Tower unless you are a protester or police.

-> Today is celebrated the 111th anniversary of the birth of Aviation in Lands of Headington. According to the PAF (Pacifician Aerospace Federation), the first sustained, controlled, powered heavier-than-air manned flight in Lands of Headington was made by the Bright Brothers at Kitties Nest, 45 miles west of Paradise, South California, on June 26, 1901. To celebrate this historical day, which is also a federal holiday since 1951 specially created to celebrate this event, many airshows are scheduled for today across the country, including in the coastal town of Kitties Nest, the birthplace of aviation, where President Meow J. Food will also be present at the inauguration of the new Bright Brothers Memorial. Visiting today the NMAA (National Museum of Air and Aviation), located in San Mustang, the capital, is also free from charge.

Missle Satelite to Return to Earth for Restocking

ASEA Juggernaut, a Nuclear Missle carrying satelite orbiting Earth since 1981 is returning on June 29, 2012. Government says it is to bring it down as a sign of peace, however, a picture from 1985, while the ship is in orbit, shows delivery of nuclear weapons from Liffe Industries that have not been moved since. Is this an Act of peace as the government says? Or of WAR?

Adan Willis Chief of the BSPD had this to say "The cowardly PLA insurgents responsible for the May 25th massacre were captured today after a brief fire fight. Locals informed police that a group of unusually heavily armed bandits were camped outside town in an abandoned warehouse. The families of the victims can now rest easily knowing these insurgents are now brought to justice". No word yet on when the execution dates will be set, but, we will keep you updated.

Imperial Suicide Rate Hits Record High Due To Increased School Hazing and Bullying

Kasyr Derth-This morning officials from the Imperial Enforcers Corps Headquarters in Kasyr Derth say that the number of deaths attributed to suicide in the Imperium has hit a record high of 54.2 suicides yearly per 100,000 people.

Suicide, a major problem in the Imperium, is mostly problematic in the Kel-Elysian mainland. Most people who commit suicide, according to the Enforcer's Corps report, tend to be young women in their teens or early twenties, and it is attributed to one rampant blight on society: bullying.

The report indicates that the suicide rate is highest among the large population of ethnic Russians who inhabit the Kel-Elysian mainland, with ethnic Kel-Elysians following in second. The report states that as many as 83% of non-natural deaths suffered by Russian-Imperials are suicides; in fact, estimates say that as many as 1% of all Russian-Imperials die of suicide. Again, this has been attributed to widespread, vicious bullying, mostly occurring in school. But why are Russian-Imperials the ones who seem to be made for suffering?

Ethnic Russians in the Imperium tend to either be descendants of immigrants who left Russia to escape war, revolution or poverty, or they are immigrants who leave Russia because of the current despotic regime. The Imperial government designates Russians as Asiatics because most of the country is located in Asia. However, no matter how accepting the Imperial government is of Russians, the fact that Russians look white to ignorant, vicious schoolchildren makes them targets for ostracization in a society that holds Asiatics above all. With families that either abandon them or are too poor to move to Russia or America, these children have nowhere to run.

"I can remember this Russian girl named Natasha Gorokhov," recalls twenty-five year old Ryuka Bakineshka, who is an ethnic Kel-Elysian, "We first met in...the tertiary commons area of our high school. She just sat there, alone. She didn't talk to anybody, she didn't look at anybody, I never once saw her smile even when I knew she was pleased or happy. That was the way she always was. But we still became friends shortly after we met.

"There was a bunch of girls who always ganged up on Natasha, and they'd steal her stuff, they'd often destroy what little she brought to eat, saying she shouldn't have been born, that she was uglier even though she was prettier than a movie star...and those were kind remarks, compared to some of the other things they called her. They'd often take her to the locker room, duct tape a Ushanka to her head, even though many of their grandparents wore Ushankas fighting for the Imperium, and they'd beat her. And someone would always hold me down and force me to watch...they'd beat me too, sometimes. Then, one day Natasha came to school, gave me a hug and told me that I was a good person...and she just left. That was the last time she spoke to me. I decided to skip during lunch that day, and I went to her apartment where she lived on her own. That was when I heard glass breaking, and soon after a car alarm...you can guess what happened from there."

Every year, many Russian-Imperial teenagers like Natasha kill themselves to escape the torment inflicted on them. Despite this, and despite the failure of the initiatives the Imperial government has taken, there is still a small glimmer of hope.

Enter Trooper Milena Vasilyev, designated markswoman of 1st Squad, 5th Platoon, 5th Company, 12th Provost Grenadiers, Imperial Guard. A person and a friend that nine other soldiers count on to cover them when the bullets start flying. One of millions of Russian-Imperials who proudly wear the uniform of the Imperial military, often for decades; a large portion of Imperial career soldiers are ethnic Russians.

"It's because here, people are counting on you," says Vasilyev. "I count on them. It's not like we're young kids who have never been outside of their home province, we're warriors who know that there's a very real chance that we'll be fighting and dying together. We're fighting to defend the same way of life, so there's no Russians, no Kel-Elysians, no Koreans, no Japanese, there's only the enemy and we Guardsmen who shoot them."

Vasilyev hides nothing about her past; like Natasha Gorokhov's, it was not fun at all. But despite the struggles people like Vasilyev, Gorokhov and others have and still do endure, the acceptance of ethnic Russians in the military has shown that there is hope for these hopeless people.

Gilzem turning to colony

Gilzem fought a long conflict with the neighbor country, the Federal Republic of Khelshar, and gained status as independent state some months ago. But now FRK(Fed. Rep of Khelshar) is claiming Gilzem back.
The conflict dates hundreds of years ago, when the Kingdom of Khelshar annexed the island, and the natives that were not unified, felt that they should be. And Gilzem has had many independence wars, that has failed, because of Khelshar's much more powerful army, and because of organization problems in Gilzem. But it was held a referendum in Gilzem for half a year ago, and 41 % voted Yes for independence, 9 % No, and the 50 % rest voted for Autonomy.

But Khelsharian president George Sunshie said this Monday that they would turn Gilzem back to khelsharian territory, but make them a colony.

Prince Aleksandro, second in line to Pomona's throne, was christened just after noon today in the gilded marble splendour of the royal chapel in Fiore.
Filming and pictures were prohibited, as the service was beautiful and intimate in a sense.
To the laughter of his mother, HRH Queen Miela, the child let out a loud gurgle as he was brought to the font, which echoed around the church.
Queen Miela then beamed with pride for the rest of the ceremony, her son's long white christening gown, which has been used by the Pomona royals since 1907, draped over his knees.

The christening was Pomona's biggest royal event since Miela wed Ludoviko, two years ago.
The Crown Princes of Belgium, Norway, and The Netherlands, flew to Pomona to pay their regards.
HRH Prince Aleksandro's uncle Prince Miĥaelo, one of the five godparents, poured the water into the font, which had been brought personally to Stockholm by the King from the royal residence in Fiore.
Aleksandro’s other godparents were Prince Vespera of the Sankta Lumo, Crown Prince Venka of Sankta Paŭlo, Crown Princess Safira of Fiore, and her paternal aunt, Mirinda-Karesinda Lukso.

Now, during the coronation ceremony of David Destraud, adopted son of former High Emperor Izon Destraud, the Arcadians strike again. Across the nation, the enemy struck every city simultaneously.

An estimated 15 million have already been lost. The Red King, also known as Izon Destraud, also suddenly reappeared after being MIA for 6 months. Now, on the Day of Independence, the Federation is perilously close to falling. A mass exodus towards the West has already begun. The Arcadian Empire has now declared war on Page and Haktiva for being allies of the Federation. Allied forces are fighting valiantly to hold the Capital. A major casualty of the Battle of New Ixis is Tristan, the lover of Izon and adoptive father of David. King Daniel of Page, Queen Ashley of the Federation and former peacetime king Rayborne Diorte of the Federation are MIA as of 2 hours ago. And the world watches on, some in horror and others in joy, as the Federation falls to the enemy.

In related news, several Arcadian held cities have been mysteriously wiped off the map by an unknown force that appears from the open sea and then uses FLEIA warheads. A naval battle between this unknown ally and the Arcadian Navy is currently taking place near the Northeastern coast which is next to the Seraphia Mountain Range.

Today in Capstad, the National Assembly voted on the proposal to allow citizens of the Northwest Territory the full rights of Statehood, including the right to vote and be represented in the Federal Government. In a shocking display of political repression, all 50 members of the Senate voted down the proposal. Currently, no official statement has been given as to why the Northwest Territory's statehood has been rejected, but there has been speculation that the upcoming election was a major factor in the decision, as the addition of a large demographic of Conservative Afrikaans voters would threaten the more liberal Cape Region's dominant position in national legislature. We were able to catch up with Governor Harold Yoerks (pictured) and hear his opinion on the matter:

"Our own government has made it clear to us that they see us as dangerous and foreign outsiders" said Yoerks, when asked what he thought about the decision. "How can we call them our government, when they refuse to acknowledge our God-given rights and even our very existence as citizens?" We went on to ask whether or not Mr. Governor Yoerks would support the separatist movement now that we've been denied representation, but he declined to answer.

NORTHWEST TERRITORY - STATEHOOD NOT GRANTED

Today in Capstad, the National Assembly voted on the proposal to allow citizens of the Northwest Territory the full rights of Statehood. In a stunning display of unity across all parties, all 50 members of the Senate voted down the proposal. Though no official statement has been given by the Senate, we can speculate that the northwest territory's overbearing racial and religious attitudes most likely had something to do with the Senate's decision. Even the proposed name for the state "Suid-Magdala" (Afrikaans for South Magdala) carries religious connotations, seen by many as proselytization of the Church of Saint Mary the Grail over other religions present.

In an unofficial statement, President FitzOsbourne said "There is no place for religion in politics. We are a nation of many faiths and we must be respectful of all of them, and keeping faith out of the administration wherever possible is key to keeping the balance." We shall continue to follow any further developments in this story.

Ashley Perkins To Represent Freedom Party in Election

Protecta-For the first time since 1999, Paul Eagleton has lost the election at the start. Freedom Party chairwoman Mary R. Malone has announced that ambassador Ashley Perkins has been chosen as the representative of the Freedom Party in the upcoming election.

Ashley was born on Ignis. She was always very compassionate and persuasive, so diplomacy naturally appealed to her. Now that Felix Terra is diplomatically stable, she has decided to become Supreme Chancellor.

When asked how she plans to run for Supreme Chancellor and represent us in other nations at the same time, she responded:
"Who says that you can't? I wouldn't be able to do my job without multitasking almost all the time. This is just another thing on the schedule."

Paul Eagleton's response to her win?
"I've probably run Felix Terra too long, anyway. No point getting worked up about it."
