For years and years has the Acta Diurna Borgiae, Daily Acts of The Borgia, served as the state news media of the Papal Empire and Kingdoms of Spain and Low Countries. It has provided a stable and consistent font of access to the news and events of out nation for international consumption, albeit as a state media, it has not been perfect in its fair coverage of events outside our realm. During and after the Sack of Rome, the collapse of the ADB was frankly a disaster. Radio silence from the Empire all but cut off the rock of Saint Peter from the wider church. We must not allow that to happen again.

Thus as Prefect and editor of the ADB, I am doing what should have been done long ago. We are opening the ADB to international broadcast and international contribution. Here articles may be expressed for important national and international news, utilizing the ADB format. All news shall be shared fully and openly across our channels around the world and posted as both online articles and read aloud as televised newscasts by ADB's trusted correspondents. We will also allow for an open forum, for non-news people to post comments and share in the exchange of ideas and debate. I feel this is what the ADB is truly lacking now and most needs to be changed.

The only requirement for utilizing this news channel is that said poster must be of a Catholic State, Catholic Majority Country, Catholic Organization, corporation or news conglomerate under Catholic ownership in communion with the Pope of Rome. As the ADB is a functioning branch of the Holy Mother Church, we cannot have it any other way. However, after considerable begging on my part...His Holiness Soter II has been open to allowing non-Catholic news media to post if they negotiate a licensing deal/fee with myself and get the approval of the Papacy. Note: Foreign entities licensed to post under the ADB will face heavy scrutiny from the Office of the Inquisition, and it will not tolerate critcism of the pontiff nor the Catholic religion and our Empire. I have tried my best on that point, but Pierre d'Euse, Grand Inquisitor, will not budge.

ACTA DIURNA BORGIAE BREAKING: Prefect of the Office of Inquisition Executed After Attempted Coup Cardinal-Inquisitor Pierre d'Euse, infamous torturer, was arrested and executed after a short trial his afternoon. Rome, Italy-Shocking news from Rome today as the Prefect of The Office of The Holy Inquisition, Cardinal d'Euse, has been executed following the discovery of a plot to depose the sitting pope, Soter II. The cardinal was infamously known throughout the empire for being a zealous opponent of liberal and heretical thinking and utilizing his knowledge of medicine in the use of torture on those being questioned by the Inquisition. While we cannot confirm it, it has been rumored, for example, that d'Euse was known within the Holy Office for personally overseeing select victims and reviving them several times after they'd succumbed to the torture. Such was his skill in the 'art'. He was an open opponent and critic of the modern papacy, condemning Soter II as a 'Hermaphroditic monster' and the Sacred Band as 'Sodomites who were better off burned'. The Papacy has until recently endured his presence, noting while he was a monster, he was useful one. His heading of the intelligence division of the church has instilled its safety against ideological and foreign threats even amidst our recent civil war.Yet it seems even patience has its limits. As of now, the Cardinal is dead. The Cardinal was seized at 2:15 PM during a meeting with the heads of the congregations of the curia in the Castel Sant'Angelo. His conspiracy was revealed by Cardinal Luigi de Este-Borgia, Duke of Massa and Carrara. The Cardinal Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith accused d'Euse of apostasy, heresy, and treason against the Papal State. Pierre d'Euse vigorously defended his honor, accusing the Duke of a plot and quote 'conspiring with his elder sister the man-woman pope to destroy him and Rome'. The room was then stormed by The Sacred Band and the gonfaloniere Paolo Borgia. The guards entered into an altercation with d'Euse's own agents/condotierri and those men were killed. The Pope motioned them away and d'Euse was removed from the room, and the meeting carried on its usual bureaucratic fashion. d'Euse was dragged from the Vatican through the streets of Rome and taken to the Gemonian Stairs at 2:50 PM. There he was placed on trial in a military tribunal by the gonfaloniere. He was swiftly convicted of his crimes, stripped of his Borgia name, and at 2:55 and his head struck off by one of the guards on the none at the exact stroke of 3 PM. His body was pushed down the stairs and later dumped unceremoniously into the Tiber. The swiftness of events has sparked vigorous discussion on social media. The government has not elaborated on the exact nature of d'Euse's coup plans nor the extent to which it was ready to be initiated. They have only noted that "We have moved swiftly, and against usual protocol to ensure the continued stability and safety of the Pontiff and Rome." They've declared the matter to be top secret for now, and the office of the Inquisition has been temporarily placed under the Pope's direct control. As I was there to witness his seizure, I can say that it was obvious that Pierre was completely unaware that this was coming. Soter II seemed to know, however, and obviously so did his younger brother Luigi. The head of intelligence, of our own inquisition, not being aware of his own arrest is a clear suggestion that this was the result of a counter-conspiracy. It seems to have been hatched within the ranks of The Sacred Band of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, the recently reformed bodyguard of the Pope. Being a corps of homosexual married couples, they were always beneath d'Euse's notice. It was a point of view that cost him his life. ACTA DIURNA BORGIAE Inquisitors Burned In Rome Reaction to d'Euse Conspiracy conspiracy widens as his puppets in the Holy Office are executed in public spectacle. Rome, Italy-The Papal government has moved to swiftly snuff out the influence of the ex-cardinal and traitor Pierre d'Euse. Over the past several weeks the Sisterhood of Saint Michael's infiltrators and commandos have both launched raids on Dominican abbeys as well as laid traps for inquisitors loyal to d'Euse. These arrests were mostly peaceful, excepting a monastery in Veneto that was firebombed last Tuesday. Seventy-six were arrested, most were inquisitors of the Dominican Order. All had been proven to be d'Euse's creatures, and were hopeful that a conspiracy had been launched to kill His Holiness Pope Soter II. All have been imprisoned in Rome and were sentenced in absentia by their own Inquisition, now being headed interim by Cardinal Luigi de Este-Borgia, to death in the the auto-da-fé. Fifty-four men were burned this afternoon in a public ceremony for the people of Rome to witness. This was not some spectacle of enjoyment as one would find at regular public executions, but one of somber penitence. The auto-da-fé. The act of faith. The auto-da-fé is not an impromptu event, but thoroughly orchestrated. Preparations usually begin a month in advance and only occurred when the inquisition authorities believed there were enough prisoners in a given community or city. The preparations for today's preceding began immediately after d'Euse's death and have been perfected during the collection of the prisoners. An all night vigil was held in Saint Peters, and mass was led this morning by Pope Soter II himself. A breakfast was held for the crowds of Rome as well. After the daybreak mass and community breakfast, Soter II was carried on his ceremonial palanquin in procession leading the prisoners behind him. The Pope was noticeably more rotund, given his condition, and was attended at his side by his paramour and partner the Voivode of Wallachia. The procession snaked its way from the Castelo down the Corso Papa Dionysio II (Formerly Corso Vittorio Emanuele II) to the Altar of the Fatherland, where all seventy-six were whipped for their treason. Then the procession snaked its way on the Via Dei Fori Imperiali to the Colosseum where the final sentences would be carried out. The prisoners were very visible, wearing the traditional sanbenito and sackcloth clothing, with their crimes written all over it for all to see. They serve to identify the specific acts of heresy of the accused, whose identities are kept secret until the very last moment. In addition, the prisoners had no idea what the outcome of their trial had been or their sentencing. When placed on the platform, and after the crowd and pope had taken their seats, the sentences were read out. Fifty four were sentenced to burn, twenty two were to be exiled to Domincan monasteries abroad. Those who were spared the fires fell to their knees in thanksgiving, as is traditional. The fifty four were immediately seized and taken to be burned. None were given the mercy of being strangled. The rest is graphic and need not be explained here. The heretics have been dealt with. The crowd, for participating in such a gruesome nightmare, was given absolution for their sins. Everyone left in a somber mood, not doubt filled with a certain sense of irony. ACTA DIURNA BORGIAE Papacy Announces to World The Birth of a Son Bells are being rung across the country as crowds cheer for the heralding of a new era. Rome, Italy-A raucous scream of jubilation shook the foundations of the Vatican square and the roads outside the Castel Sant'Angelo this night as a liveried page brought out a simple framed declaration and placed it for heralds to read at the gates of the Castelo. This document was the highly anticipated announcement that His Holiness Soter II and the Voivode Alexandru IV of Wallachia have welcomed a child into the world. The announcement also declared the child to be healthy and a male of sex. Word of the Pope's condition has yet to be announced. The baptism of the child will take place soon. This announcement has been hotly anticipated for the last few months when His Holiness entered the traditional period of confinement that precedes a new child. While reactions to the initial announcement nine months ago were mixed, popular opinion about it rapidly changed as public appearances of the Papal couple became fewer and more loving with time. Many public events saw them together and close, likely a coordinated public relations move, but one that won the hearts of the empire. The reconstruction of Rome following the Sack and Civil War has been steady but depressing, and many see this advent of new life as symbolic of Rome's recovery. Crowds gathered daily and steadily grew outside the Castel Sant'Angelo, waiting with bated breath for the announcement that came today. Thousands of pilgrims have been facilitated in dedicated camps all around the city, some from as far away as the New World. The reactions to the birth have thus far been positive. Official letters of congratulations have already been sent from the desks of King Viracocha of Spain, himself now a father of four, The Queen-Regent of France, and The Serene Gitchgumee of Michigan. The excitement in Romans has been clear and palpable to the eyes and ears. From the Vatican to the Aventine to the taverns of the camps for those who lost their home in the war, patriotic songs are being sung and drunken patrons cheer to the health of the papal babe. As per the declaration of the Holy Father, every Catholic Church on earth is to play the bells in honor of this event, and the music of joy and happiness and devotion is to be heard by all the flock. His Holiness The Pope of Rome and Vicar of Jesus Christ was delivered of a son at half-past the Vespers.

The baby weighs 3 kilograms.

The Voivode of Wallachia was present for the advent of the child.

The College of Cardinals, Royal Princes of Spain and Low Countries, and all members of the Borgia Dynasty have been informed and are delighted with the news.

The child is doing well and he and His Holiness will be staying within the Castelo until the full presentation of the child during its baptism. A more formal announcement of which is forthcoming. The name and titles of the child will be announced during the baptism as well.

ACTA DIURNA BORGIAE Pope Appears With Child For The First Time Date of The Baptism to be Announced Tomorrow Rome, Italy-For the first time in the days following the coming of the 'Papal Child', as the internet has come to call the boy until he is formally named, His Holiness Pope Soter II has been seen by his flock. The world has also looked directly on the Papal Child for the first time as well. The crowds in St. Peter's Square crowded together this morning to catch the best view of the Pope and his family. They presented themselves formally on the great balcony of Saint Peter's, resplendent in all the finery and pomp that one expects from their position. The pope appeared in his papal tiara and mantum, wearing the trasditional silk gloves and shoes as well as his many rings. The Camerlengo and brother-in-vows to the pontiff, The Cardinal Prince of Wallachia, chose not to wear a cardinal's vestments in favor of his royal garb. The princely crown and furred kaftan of Wallachia. Their child was carried in by his wet nurse, swaddled in a blanket of cloth-of-gold and rare silks. The family stood glittering in the rosy dawn of the roman morning as the crowds cheered them on. After years of war and inter-family violence, Christendom saw a an image of perfect familial serenity, grace and dignity in the House of God. Close observers did note that the pontiff was slightly slovenly in his face, being supported as he walked slowly onto the balcony by the Camerlengo. The process must have been especially hard on him, it has been speculated, as his mother and grandmother both perished from similar complications. The crowd gasped yet again as Soter II raised is infant over the edge of the balcony, high above so the entire crowd could see him. The cloth of gold fell away, and would later be fought over by pilgrims leading to a small riot, and when the child was in clear view the Pope exlcaimed to all: HABEMUS PUELLUM! We have a boy. We have a boy indeed. The crowd erupted into cheers once again, and the Pope took the child back into the Petrine Palace.
