How early can I post a host bid, I've been working on one and It's almost done.
Gurori is currently being refurbished, please excuse any inconsistencies in the meantime.

Post whenever you want to reveal it as long as it's before the host bid sign up closes!

Meet Guroriball, our new mascot for WorldVision. He is a countryball and represents the light-hearted fun you can have in our nation, clicking on him will take you to a video which provides fun facts about Gurori, details about the venue and has an instrumental of our entry's song.

The IC Thread

The IC Thread will have a simple layout, the first post will of course contain links to the OOC thread, to each entry and to each commentary. The following post will feature opening act, the third post will be the host's intervention. Once the deadline passes, an interval act will be played and then the votes may be posted. Gurori shall be voting last. A halfway scoreboard will be shown when half of the total number of participating nations have voted and a full result scoreboard will be shown after Gurori's vote. The winner (or myself if requested) will post a reprise. The basis of the song contest if Gurori were to win the bid would be "#SpreadTheMusic", which represents that you can show anything through song. Whether you're welcoming somebody or welcoming an entire nation, expect a warm welcome in Gurori.

Roleplaying Your Entry

As mentioned before, clicking on Guroriball takes you to a video which provides details about the stage. There is room for an orchestra provided by Gurori (or you can bring an orchestra from your own nation) to play your entry's tune, you may also use a backing track if you wish.

My Commitment

As of this bid post, I am working on the opening act and currently have a lot of time to devote to WorldVision. I'll let the committee know if there are any troubles.

The Venue

Image

If for whatever reason you cannot watch the video (or are too lazy to do so), I have listed some information about the venue here. The image to your right depicts the Kakuji Royal Stadium, which is capable of seating up to an astounding 100,000 people! If you click on the image you'll be taken to a picture depicting the layout for the song contest.

Postcards

Yes, there's also going to be lovely postcards! We believe that all postcards should be the same for everybody, no matter how many times you've won or lost. Including your best and worst results in previous editions is optional and you can even ask for a countryball of your flag to be added! (Countryballs will be created by myself or a member of the NSPolandball Community)

Normandy and Picardy for the WorldVision Committee

Hello. I've spent a lot of time thinking how I was glad I wasn't having to do the Committee's work, or how I hadn't been part of the contest for long enough, or one of many, many reasons. I have now decided, however, to stand for the Committee. Don't expect a big flashy campaign; I want to keep things simple, just as I believe that we should keep the contest symbol. So why vote for me? As I've said, I want to keep the contest simple, with as few gimmicks as possible. I think that we must remeber what this contest is, a bit of fun for fans of music, with seemingly many Eurovision fans amongst our ranks (including myself!). The committee's job should be to make sure everything is running smoothly, only intervening when necessary, and making sure the contest is a bit of fun that anyone can get involved in, and doesn't turn sour. That's the sort of committee I want to lead, one that is dedicated to fairness, and is firm when it needs to be but doesn't try to suck all of the fun out of the contest either. Yes, we need a proper series of punishments, so that people know you can't do anything you want, but neither should we be totally authoritarian about the issue. That's what I think the committee to be. I love this contest, and I love taking part in it. And I want to make sure everyone else can as well. However, I want the committee to be approachable and to be as transparent as reasonable, so that it can be approachable and held account.

So, why do I think you should pick me?:
- I am willing to talk to or help anyone who is having issues with the contest, and resolving those issues
- (I hope) I am approachable, and I hope to use experience in my region, as well as from working with people in real life, to be as empathetic and understanding as I can be
- I want the contest to carry on being what it should be; fun
- Punish people if necessary, but only when necessary
- Keep the contest running smoothly, so that everyone can enjoy it

I may not be experienced in the committee, but I hope my experience elsewhere can be transferred here to help everyone. So, if you want, vote Normandy and Picardy for the WorldVision Committee.

Thank you for reading

This will also be my last WorldVision Song Contest for a lengthy amount of time. Will I be back? I'm not sure, but whenever I am, Vha Mehlodhivestoile should be around at least a month before the upcoming WV.

I will still be around, and I will participate in the World Hit Festival too. Also, I would like to vote in national finals, and offer my support for those who want it (eg, hosting or making a successful national final, or even recommending songs.)

I'm pretty sure Gurori's currently the only nation bidding (as of this post at least).

The Committee is yet to add it to the OP.

And yes, I did take inspiration from your bid.

WorldVision Bid | KYVIVRE, BRITYUNIK

OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION FOR THE HOSTING RIGHTS OF THE 51st WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST IN KYVIVRE, BRITONISEA

Introduction // Kyvivre // The Plan // Endearments // OOC

Image
Image
Garange L'Iwes performing "Be the one to win" in Celeste, Russadonia

In WorldVision 50, Britonisea, alongside Aurevbush, bid to host the 50th WorldVision Song Contest, and unfortunately, we lost to the bid from Kasin, Kalosia. While participating in a great contest in Kasin, Britonisea planned to go ahead with hosting the 51st WorldVision Song Contest – in the city Kyvivre. The 51st WorldVision Song Contest will mark 20 editions since the first participation of Britonisea, when Garange L’Iwes represented the country with the song “Be the one to win.” In contrast, Britonisea didn’t manage to win on its first participation; which was a huge ask, based on the fact that winning on your first participation (and probably second) is very rare in WorldVision. Happily, the Britonish delegation found success 10 editions from then and 10 editions from this date. Back in WorldVision 41, when Britonisea last hosted the contest, was were we found success, and proves that any nation – regardless of their background or reputation can be successful. Kyvivre, alongside the Britonish team behind the bid, worked together to show you what Kyvivre can do. Kyvivre didn’t have a chance to show the public our great city an edition ago, but this time, we will show you how special our city is and why it should be picked to host our 20th edition anniversary of the WorldVision song contest. #Kyvivre51

Image

Kyvivre is a bright city on the mainland of Britonisea, and even though it struggles to maintain superiority – being in the middle of Estogium’s border and the capital city, Doportedas – the city shines through when it comes to showing everyone the epitome of Britonish culture, and how this culture can be explored in a futuristic environment. Kyvivre is a unique city which shows that regardless of the digital age, and how fast the world is moving, culture can still adapt and thrive in an ever-changing environment. Over the last 20 years, Kyvivre and the Kyvian* population has seen major changes to the city’s skyline, and like Junterapten and Knightinghamshire, Kyvivre was one, and still is one of the targeted cities to turn in to a neo-future based city. Our idea of neo-futurism isn’t going taller and out-there, but neo-futurism shows our changing desire and style within Britonish borders, and how our unusual taste can be shown to the fullest. Unlike Junterapten, Kyvivre has gone through vast improvements to the transportation, the infrastructure and most importantly, and the living conditions. The city boasts a marvellous transportation system, design to fit our quirky taste, our building designs and our newly built, green houses – and not as in the colour.

Image
The Kyvian Populace care very much about natural resources

Kyvivre has been commended for it’s push for the country’s switch from fossil fuel use (Coal, Oil, Gas) to permanent, sustainable, renewable energy use (Wind, Solar, Water), while also opting to use battery-powered vehicles instead of using oil. When we use our small percentage of fossil fuels, we try our hardest to stick to cleaner ways of using them. For example, we wouldn’t extract oil from the earth, but instead, extract oil from plants. This is known as using biofuels and we plant 2 seeds for every flower used.

Image
The Kyvian population celebrate Founder's Day, 28th October

Image

Moreover, Kyvivre should host the 51st WorldVision Song Contest because Kyvivre has the experience needed. Recently, Kyvivre hosted the 27th World Hit Festival due to the Britonish win in Monterra, Kalosia, which bought elation to the city.As the city scurried to get ready and drape the blue and black wires, shown in the logo of the 27th World Hit Festival, on our motorways and streets, Kyvivre invited thousands of fans, both regionally and internationally, to join us during this small contest of excellence and as a taster of what is to come for the city – if we host the 51st WorldVision Song Contest. Despite the smaller amount of nations participating in World Hit Festival in comparison to what is expected for the 51st WorldVision Song Contest, our enthusiasm bought to the contest was truly iridescent and glowed through the city’s skyline. If you look at the logo for World Hit Festival 27, you can see the link between the city and futurism.

Image

This logo and its slogan [of WHF27] links to the logo and slogan of Kyvivre 51. The wires shown in the logo of WHF27 shows the start of the digital age before turning in to the WV51 bid logo. Look at the bid logo. It represents the motherboard, the most important object for a computer. Without the motherboard of the computer, there wouldn’t be a functioning computer. You can take the motherboard as the brains, of the computer, and putting this in to bid terms, we are showing you that the Kyvivre is the city that makes Britonisea works, showing resilience through the hardest of times – when factors try to destroy the Britonish culture. The Brains of the Kyvian Population drives Britonisea to withstand the rest and keep our country a major player on the international field. The WHF27 slogan, “Times are changing” links back to the theme of the bid for WV51’s “New Beginnings” because we want to tell everyone that even though times are changing, we still stay positive and strong, and with that, we will have new beginnings, and new memories which will treasure for the new generation to wonder upon.

The plan for a Kyvian WorldVision Song Contest will showcase the future generation – while also intertwining our home grown culture too. Hosted in the Narook Arena (which can host up to 29,000 spectators) the contest will feature an opening act, interval acts, and the voting period, which will celebrate neo-futurism within Kyvivre and will also feature how the world could be better in the future – despite growing concerns of the Earth’s uncertain future. “New Beginnings” will be the basis of the 51st WorldVision Song Contest’s opening act and it will feature the past moving on to the present. We can relate this to WorldVision because even though we love to celebrate the last 50 editions of the WorldVision, we are heading in to new uncharted territory, and we have to think about how WorldVision can thrive now and the future. “We mustn’t live in fear” will be the basis of our interval acts, which include the concerns of nations in the future – the reality vs. the negativity. We mustn’t live in fear also will show dancing performances, designated dancing performances, which isn’t shown much in the WorldVision Song Contest.

Image

Image
Image
"Flamingo Circus" is the main bulk of the stage while "Crocodile" are the catwalks.

The stage consists of a main bulk, which we will call "Flamingo Circus." At Flamingo Circus, one of the three main screens are there. The three screens will span across the circumference of the front of the arena, equally far apart from each other. Though not shown in the picture, the floor can light up and you can use a wide variety of different tricks to entice your watcher. The lights make the stage look bigger and grander - a great illusion. Nations can use this illusion to full effect, if they wanted to. For grander, more complex staging, (eg, Russia 2016) we will provide this with Britonish equipment, unless the nation in question chooses otherwise. The crocodiles are the "legs" or the catwalk of the stage, and it doesn't light up - but the edges do turn on and off. The whole stage represents a futuristic side of things. The quirky stage fits well with our culture, as it's out of the ordinary and different.

Image
The Stage from the commentators view.

If the Kyvian bid wins the rights to host the 51st WorldVision Song Contest, there will be two hosts during the competition. Firstly, Mini Surrey North would host the contest for the second time. Mini Surrey North was picked for her contributions to the WorldVision Song Contest. She has previously participated in the contest three times (WV35, WV36, WV47) and managed a high score of 139, breaking the record of 113 set by Mya Richardson. With Mini Surrey North would be the winner of the 26th World Hit Festival, Rigas Jengiz. Similar to Mini, she will be hosting the 51st WorldVision Song Contest to show her outstanding contributions, not only to World Hit but to Britonish music. Rigas participated in the 24th World Hit Festival after coming second in Mehlodhivestoile; our last format for picking our representative for WorldVision. Even though she came second to eventual winner Mini, she was voted #1 by the international jury – which compromised of nations such as Todlichebujoku, Arioslavia and Ekoz.

Image

Image

The Postcards of endearment are a unique and different type of postcard. Usually, a postcard would have the nation’s name, the artist’s name, the song’s name and the flag’s colours incorporated somehow. Or, if nations decide to push the boundary, they would also include the nation’s previous records such as their worst and best results in the WorldVision Song Contest. However, this data isn’t available for everyone, and I believe that everyone should receive the same thing. If you won six times, in comparison to whether you won once, you should feel like one. These postcards of endearment will be specific of every different nation.

Image

These postcards won’t be cheeky, or a deliberate and obvious chance to anger people or criticism. Instead, the postcards would be a quote of inspiration spurring those unfortunate to push on through, and for the more successful; how they have had such success, and urging them to continue doing what they're doing..."Good Better Best!" For many nations, they could hope to win the WorldVision Song Contest, and trust us, Britonisea knows this. Therefore we can sympathise with both parties. Once, we were a nation entering a different and exciting contest. We then had the desire to win, and the desire to keep on being successful. We have been there. Regardless of whether you are new or a veteran, you will receive a quote personal to you, and hopefully, it will inspire you – or further inspire you – to carry on making daring decisions both ICly and OOCly, too. The postcards would be quoted to the person who made up the quote at the bottom of the page and will be placed on top of an abstract background, highlighting the changing, abstract scenery of Kyvivre.

Image
Image

As stated in the Britonish Bid prior to this WV51 bid, there will be frequent updates. However, based on school time restarting, postcard updates will be completed Monday – Friday at 8.30pm and during Saturday and Sunday, it is likely to be at 1.30pm to 3.30pm or 7.30pm to 11.00pm, to give specific times. Small updates, like linking the acts to their respective link or asking questions to a WorldVision artist will be done during the day on all days. Questions are likely to be answered in the morning on Mondays to Fridays and frequently during Saturday and Sunday.
Each postcard would take me about 10 minutes. The postcard processing will be thinking of a quote to sum up the nation I am making it for, and finding attractive, suitable, abstract designs to be the basis of the postcard. The WorldVision Postcards will also all be updated before the voting period, unless something bad happens which prevents me from doing this.

The WorldVision Song Contest would be quite a chilled contest in Kyvivre. The interval act will bw pretty normal - and unlike the last time, there will significant reductions to the amount of opening acts we have. We will try to incorporate all of our participating nations in a shorter amount of time before having the hosts speak (Welcome to the WV51 in Kyvivre) and then moving straight on to the entries. I don't intend to do interviews, especially for the posting of entries. The interval act is where the show of Kyvivre will begin and so will a few interviews take place (one or two questions at the most, targeting nations who are new, or nations who may need a platform to spring off of, but open to everyone.) And the voting won't have too much distraction either, except for the midway scoreboard. We would like to focus on getting all the postcards down, while also going "back to basics" with a few tweaks; because we are a changed society.

I do have experience on my side, if you wish. I have participated in 17 (excluding my own) other WorldVision Song Contests, and quite surprisingly, that's one of the eldest (longest-participation) here - which is nice to groan about. But, I try my hardest to get involved as much as possible, always externally RPing about the WorldVision Song Contest - something I've really grown to enjoy. Moreover, I have hosted The 41st WorldVision Song Contest, and while I commend myself for it , I believe that there were a lot of mistakes that I could fix in this contest (hoping I have the chance) so I as host can enjoy it as much as you participating. I am also hosting the The 27th World Hit Festival, which dispite it's smaller amount of nations, requires a lot of handy work. Committing myself to create scoreboards for everyone to enjoy and understand is key and essential too. When that ends on the 1st of October, I hope to start planning for the WorldVision, 2 days later.

Finally, there will be warnings about the closure of the deadlines. There will be a warning (Between 72-24 hours) before the closure of the posting of entries, and there will also be a TG sent around to everyone regarding the "All-You-Need-To-Know" for voting when the lines open, and then if there are some who still failed to vote, there will be a twenty-four TG sent, and it will be announced on the OOC Thread. It's most likely I would be extra paranoid and end up sending either a lot of TGs or the TGs at an earlier time. Either way, I, personally, will keep you informed on your deadlines.

Yay, my power + WiFi is back!

I'll get all caught up later tonight. I have to deal with all this university bullshit stuff first. Really sorry about the inconvenience regarding YF!

I made a bid more than ten editions ago, won, and made guroiball the postcards. It was my last time I hosted the contest I believe

Oh well, better go improve on my bid. :3

You've motivated me, may the best bidder win!

EDIT: Snipped out the bid, is huge.

Weekly reindexing fucked my ass.

Electrum for WorldVision Committee

Hey all. I'm sure you guys all know me fairly well by now, but I'm running again for a position on the WorldVision Committee. It's hard to believe that such a short amount of time has flown by since my bid for the last committee elections during WorldVision 46, but I'm more the wiser because of the experience. Being on the Committee in the past five editions has really opened my eyes on how WorldVision as a whole works, and how much work occurs behind the scenes. Adding on to my experience on the Committee is my Presidency of the IBO and being on the Olympics Council, and I've always had to make tough decisions behind the scenes in all three. You can trust me to do what I think is right and in the best interests of the community as a whole.

I've accomplished many of the goals I set up to do in my bid last time. I streamlined the rules, made a few tweaks to the OOC thread, changed the rules on sign-ups being open all the way to when host voting closed, answering questions behind the scenes and in the thread, and maintaining the thread. WorldVision should continually keep trying to improve on itself, and I plan to inject a kind of common sense into the Committee. I always assume good faith, and I am always open to new ideas to keep making the WorldVision Song Contest the best it can be. One of the new ideas I've been wanting to implement is to give clearer rulings by the Committee, and you might have seen that on the YF thread. It is intended to give the community clear reasoning and transparency as to why WVC makes certain decisions.

I've participated in every edition, except for one, since Yttribia 35, invariably with two nations, Electrum and EDO, and have also always participated in the auxiliary contests as well. You know who I am, you know what I stand for, vote Electrum.

With the end of the 50th Worldvision Song Contest, and with the Allied States of Polkopia earning first place for the seventh time, the time has come for the PNB to select another song for the upcoming Worldvision Song Contest. Therefore, the PNB has decided to opt for a National Final yet again to determine Polkopia's entry along with the same format as before with the results being decided between a 50/50 split between international and national juries and domestic televote.

A slight change has been made to the formatting of the National Final. This time, the entrant who was the runner up for the previous Landa vy Polkopiya can resubmit their song in the upcoming one for a shot at representing Polkopia once more. This resubmitted song will automatically advance to the Grand Final along with 9 other entrants.

In order to vote, please send a Telegram to Polkopia with the songs rated in Worldvision format (12 points to your favorite, 10 point to your second favorite, and 8-1 points for the rest.)

Ekoz hosted on his second participation; it's not impossible. However, it's rear that what you call the "nooblets" would host on their second, or third participation. Anyway, you could still win the host voting, don't lose hope.

Late Song Change For Mister X - Rebound To Go Instead

Image

Entourage were switched last night for Rebound, as MRX Television sought to recapture the form that had led to a good run in the 30s. This meant that the slow ballad that was planned was ditched in favour of a more uptempo number, that being in the form of Rebound's new track, "The Man Who Tempted Me", to the tune of "The Phantom Of The Opera" from, er, The Phantom Of The Opera.

WV34: 6th, first hosting

Odd. I thought the thread would be the same size on any computer, as it is all info on the internet.

However, my Grandma's computer, which has a slightly bigger screen than my computer, has less pages (my normal computer has 4 pages on this thread, my Grandma's laptop 3)
