World Hit Festival 27 - Kyvivre, Britonisea | Signups [OPEN]

Postby Kalosia » Sat Aug 27, 2016 4:49 am

Draft Thread • IC Thread

After the tight Britonish win, Britonisea accepted hosting responsibility, and eventhough IGBK's WHF contract had run out, BVC has sorted the legal information, and with a sizeable budget, BVC - Brityunik Vefecosoin Ciarkovoin - will host the competition in Kyvivre, the Britonish capital of culture, located in South-Western Britonish shores, only a few kilometres from Doportedas, the actual capital.

About + How It Works
The World Hit Festival (WHF) is a song competition. Each participating nation may enter 1 song and artist into the contest, and it will be performed. Lyrics must be written by the user, thus no instrumental songs are allowed. Users may enter up to 2 more puppet nations, adding to a total of 3 overall.
Later, each nation must vote for their favourites by giving 5 points to their favourite song, 4 points to their 2nd favourite, and so on. Nations are only allowed to get a maximum of 8 points from the user's puppets (meaning that, Nation 1 can receive 4 points from Nation 2 and Nation 3 each, if all 3 nations belong to the same user. Nations 2 and 3 can still receive points from each other.)
Votes are to be submitted by telegram to the host country, who will publish them. Afterwards, a winner will be announced and the current edition of the WHF will end, and signups for the next WHF will be opened.

[OUTDATED] Here is a statistical database of participants in WHF history, and here is a list of every World Hit Festival ever, along with links to the IC and OOC threads.

For the contest, 3 threads will be opened. The first is the Signups/OOC thread, this one. The second is known as a Draft Thread. You will post your performances here. The final one is the IC thread. The host will copy your performances from the Draft Thread. You will be able to post commentary there.

You can use the most recent World Hit Festival (WHF26) as a reference. Still, feel free to ask questions!

Schedule
Draft thread opens: TBA

Draft thread (entry posting) closes, IC thread up: TBA

Signing up
To sign up, fill the form below. You do not have to have a complete initial sign-up. A post saying that you'll participate is okay, but you'll have to complete the rest eventually. If you want to have a national final, feel free to post it in this thread.
Code: Select all
[box]Nation:
Broadcaster:

Song Title:
Artist:
Language(s):
Title Transcription (if required):
Title Translation (if required):
Tune:
[/box]

The form will look like the contents of the spoiler below. In the spoiler, there is also an explanation of each part.
Nation: Self-explanatory
Broadcaster: Each nation has a broadcaster, usually the national broadcaster, who will transmit the show in your nation. For example, the BBC is the UK broadcaster for Eurovision and broadcasts the event to the UK.

Song Title: Self-explanatory
Artist: The artist who will perform the song. You are expected to RP the performance in the draft thread later on.
Language(s): The languages of the song's lyrics.
Title Transcription (if required): If your song's title is in another alphabet, then this is where you fill the romanized title (for example, a song whose original title is "Мамо" would be romanized as "Mamo". Otherwise, you can omit this part completely.
Title Translation (if required): If your song's title is in another language, fill in the English translation here. Otherwise, you can omit this part completely.
Tune: Most songs in the World Hit Festival use the melody of an already existing tune, and the user only rewrites the lyrics. Self-written tunes are rare, but welcomed and appreciated. Some users choose to not use a tune for their song, but if you do, write here the tune which you are using.

If you want to see an example, scroll down, since experienced nations are more likely to sign up earlier.

If the draft thread of WHF26 was up on Brit's RL birthday, this thread is up on mine :p looks like it's my 2000th post too what a time to celebrate

Anyway, as I've put on the OP, I'll be using this lovely remix of Eneda Tarifa's Fairytale as my tune for this edition.

Anyway, I am participating and I'll bring Estogium too.

Estogium at the World Hit Festival

Postby Estogium » Sat Aug 27, 2016 6:30 am

Estogium confirmed

Can I also say that (as Britonisea), Mehlodhifehstivalhen decides who will go to Kyvivre, as the person who wins will participate in WHF27 (which actually is almost like the MehFeh finals because the finals take place in Doportedas which is very nearby) and then move on to WV51, wherever that'll be. MehFeh is a national final, but just national juries will participate (not open for people to vote) and will be announced on September 2nd. In the meantime, information about arenakyvivre should come up soon.

Meanwhile, Estogium is returning back to the World Hit Festival after the Ultimaverse won it's first World Hit Festival in magnificent style. Despite Britonisea being the only Ultimaversian nation participating last edition - it pulled through everyone else, and proved that anyone can do it. Estogium are coming with their eventual WorldVision 51 song. The competition is being held on the RVC Broadcast, RVC 1, which is usually watched by 47% of people during the evening around the time Britonisea will be hosting the competition. This means World Hit Festival will have the highest viewership from Estogium ever (as expected). It's unsure of the future of Estogium's participation. Estogium's borders are only 40 minutes away from Kyvivre ensuring an easy travel.

Nation: Estogium
Broadcaster: RVC (Rwhitten Vefecosoin Cairkovoin; official broadcaster of Estogium)

Song Title: Midsommer!
Artist: Karjohan Kajetan
Language(s): English (Maybe OBL, not sure yet)
Title Transcription (if required): XX
Title Translation (if required): Midsummer*
Tune: Babou - Manjana

*Midsummer is a week long holiday, almost a bank holiday, which the sun is usually out and everyone goes out to celebrate. Everyone has at least one day off during the Midsummer week.

WORLD HIT IN KYVIVRE

Image

The Stage In Action

Held in the Arenakyvivre, 21,000 spectators will come to watch the World Hit Festival in Kyvivre. It is expected that the amount of people coming to Kyvivre will rise to more than 60,000 and there will be room to accommodate all of our guests. Even though Kyvivre is hosting the World Hit Festival, there will be many chances for everyone to feel at home, as there will be designated street parties for each of the participating nations - featuring food from the nation's culture and music, especially music featured in the World Hit Festival. All of the fun will happen within a mile from the arena; and will be near the accommodation for our artists. You can also explore the futuristic designs of Kyvivre.

Image

Kyvivre's postcard will be of a site in Kyvivre. In the picture above, we highlight the abstract designs of Kyvivre. The moving picture would be of the journey from the arena to the site and then a journey around the site. Then, before the picture cuts, a number pops up "XX" next to the performer and their song's name. Then, as this fades out, we will go to the stage like below.

Image

The Kyvian contest will be similar to that of the contest in Kalosia, with minor changes. Similarly to World Hit 26, the top 5 points and the 1-4 will be split up and will be announced separately. Unlike the World Hit Festival in Kalosia, this contest will provide the current position of the nation during the 1-4 period. At the end of the first period - which will only take two days, a day quicker than WHF26 - there will then be an interview, an act or an advertisement and after that we will go to the final procedure of the contest. Here, we revert to Kalosia's first period procedure of announcing how many 5 points each nation has received. Again, this will take 2 days and the order will be randomised. On the 5th and final day, the points from the 5 points or the top points (as they will be called) will be added together and the winner will win. Tiebreaks will happen through the nation who received the most amount of total nations together. Then, the top points would be put in to consideration. If after the count-back section, there are draws on the 6th day. There will be randomised draws to determine the winner. The amount of draws will be decided based on the amount of nations who aren't in the tiebreak, and if there isn't an odd number, the number will go up to the nearest odd number. (If there are 8 other participants, there'll be 9 draws). Each of the other participants will then spin a wheel to determine the winner. As the number is odd, a winner will be found. If there are draws further down the list, those will be going through the count-back process and then the time of the final entry.

Due to clunky graphics, the graphics may change - though keeping the same thoughts.

Ethane is making its comeback after x number of editions doing nothing.
Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.

I propose to Kal that the 6th September should be the date the Draft thread should open. And the date sign ups should close is 11th 12th September. The draft thread should be up for a couple weeks after the 6th.

I was going to TG you about this, but uh... can we have all deadlines fall on a Saturday?

I can put it up today/tomorrow until the 17th :-) With sign ups closing on the 10th. Is that fine with you?

The Broken Fortune - Mehkl Maddox Ajax

After the return of the Mehlodhifehstivalhen, the Britonish nation selection show, there has been good results from the contest. Receiving 66% of the viewership at the time, The Mehlodhifehstivalhen Finals was the most watched show of the Summer months so far. Recently, Britonisea's roller coaster results has been perceived badly throughout Britonish media and there has been major changes, announced a few weeks back, to the selection of Britonish acts, to ensure that the roller coaster results are avoided in near future.

After an intense night, it has come to the World's attention that the song which will represent Britonisea at the 51st WorldVision Song Contest and the 27th World Hit Festival - luckily in Britonisea - will be "The Broken Fortune" by an unknown singer Mehkl Maddox Ajax.

Mehkl Maddox Ajax is a 26 year old male, who made successful on the Britonish show, "Mehlodhifehstivalhen" as he won the both the televotes and the public votes ahead of acts like Deacon O'Foier and Braden Hillen, who participated in Vha Mehlodhivestoile - one of the biggest WorldVision selection processes for Britonisea, to claim victory. Though Mehkl wasn't initially a favourite, his simple staging was "different" and refreshing, while his song was quite "ballad-like." There has been many comparisons to Rigas Jengiz's "Disappointment" which won the 26th World Hit Festival in Kalosia.

In Rigas' song, it spoke about disappointment and how disappointment can be a word which everyone wants to avoid because of it's hurtful connotations. The comparison comes in to effect in Mehkl's song "The Broken Fortune" as the listener could relate this back to whatever Rigas was speaking of. But what was Rigas speaking of? Well, in the World Hit Festival, Britonisea was set to withdraw, and admittedly, Rigas wrote about the alternating success of the nation between the WHF and the WV. This makes us believe that the depth of Mehkl's song could relate back to WorldVision...but, in what way?

These are what the first lyrics read;

A secret chance,
A strong façade
A hypnotising gift.
An overpowering trance.

Quite interesting, don't you think? Now that this has been revealed, he will head to Kyvivre and he will start practising for the upcoming World Hit. Then he will travel or will he have to travel?? to the host of the 51st WorldVision Song Contest.

Contact us if you think you know what the song is about! You will be able to see the whole song at the World Hit Festival 27, which is in a couple of weeks. If you want to check out more of the lyrics, head down to http://www.britonisea.gov/worldvision/51 or http://www.britonisea.gov/whf27

Yes, Britonisea. Yes. He will have to travel.
Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
Best WorldVision Finish: 2nd. Best World Cup Finish: Quarter-Finals. Best KPB Rank: 8th. Best WBC Finish: 1st.
