Britonisea, could you vote for the Qualification for Dreamplanet "NF"?

Voiceover: For 13 contests, The Sarian's artists have been chosen by an anonymous panel of broadcasters. Tonight, that changes. Tonight, the power goes to you, the viewer. After the biggest song search in Sarian history, two acts will face off to see who will represent The Sarian in the WorldVision Song Contest. Who will you choose? The fate of the nation is in your hands, it's SariVision. Ladies, Gentlemen and everything in between, please welcome your host - Vidi!

Vidi: Wow! Wow! Welcome to SariVision! We have a fantastic show for you tonight. For the first time ever, you have the say about who will be flying our flag in WorldVision. We have two fantastic acts for you tonight, along with a special performance from none other than Harriet Engels! But first, let's go meet the judges. We have music industry tycoon, Jordan Walsh.

Jordan Walsh: I'm looking for the full package - a fantastic song, a great hook and a star studded performance. Average isn't good enough.

Vidi: Former WorldVision entrant, Rebekka Layce.

Rebekka Layce: I know what it's like to be on the WorldVision stage, and I'm looking for the act that can light the stage up.

Vidi: And last but not least, choreographer for the stars, Stefan Dubec.

Stefan Dubec: No entry wins WorldVision without owning the performance. I'm looking for the entry tonight that shows potential, and that I can work with.

Vidi: Without any further ado, let's get on with the show and welcome our first entry - Isabel Hakim!

.:: 01 - Isabel Hakim - Tonight ::.
.:: Songwriters: Isabel Hakim, Jonathon Green, Mikael Rosaro ::.
.:: Language(s): English ::.

To the tune of: To the tune of: Birdy - Wings

Oh please come back
For a second you can survive
What is dead may never die
Can never say goodbye
Cause I need you tonight

Vidi: Wow! Wasn't that good, Jordan?

Jordan Walsh: Very powerful song, very powerful voice, great presence on the stage. I would be proud to send that song to the WorldVision Song Contest. Douze points!

Vidi: High praise indeed from Jordan, what did you make of it, Stefan?

Stefan Dubec: I think Jordan nailed it on the head when he said that she had great presence. And at such a young age, my mind is just swimming with the possibilities for this song. I'm excited, this could be a really good entry for us.

Vidi: Rebekka, you were just sixteen when you participated in WorldVision, the same age as Isabel, what do you make of her?

Rebekka Layce: I must say, Vidi, I'm jealous. Isabel absolutely crushed it tonight, and I'm sure she'd crush it again in the real thing. The world will fall in love with that girl, let me tell you that.

Vidi: That was some great feedback by the judges there, but there word counts for nothing. Tonight you have the power to send your favourite act through to the WorldVision Song Contest, lines will open after our next entry has performed. And speaking of the devils, please welcome Harry Che and Lisa Chang!

.:: 02 - Harry Che & Lisa Chang - Invincible ::.
.:: Songwriters: Harry Che, Leo Pierro ::.
.:: Language(s): English ::.

To the tune of: To the tune of: Paula Seling & OVI - Miracle

We're invincible...
We're invincible...
They can't stop us now

Together can't be beat
We will make it through
Together we are free
You set my life anew

It’s so mythical
I want the world to know
We're invincible

Vidi: Stefan, I'm going to come to you first, what do you think?

Stefan Dubec: This song lends itself really nicely to a great performance. As a choreographer, I love high tempo, fun acts that begs for fabulous lighting and a few pyrotechnics, and this is that act.

Vidi: Rebekka, what about you?

Rebekka Layce: It's very easy for a song to get lost in a contest like WorldVision and a song needs a great hook, I think this could have it. I challenge y'all at home to try and not hum "invincible" at some time during this evening.

Vidi: And Jordan?

Jordan Walsh: You know, I think this song could be commercially successful, but I do question - and I am sorry to say this - whether it is WorldVision winning material. Yes, it's a catchy song, but I honestly can't see it making even the top 5.

Vidi: So that was what the judges thought, but tonight the power is in your hands. Each province has been given ten votes to be proportionally allocated and at the end of the evening one of these two acts will be the first Sari entry with a democratic mandate - there are world leaders who can't boast about that! The number to call is 5471 001 if you want Isabel to represent The Sarian and 5471 002 if you want the duo of Harry and Lisa to fly to flag. Here's a recap of their performances.

***

Vidi: Once again, the number is 5471. Add 001 for Isabel Hakim and 002 for Harry Che and Lisa Chang. But now we have a very special performance, please welcome our own - Harriet Engels!

.:: Interval Act ::.
.:: Harriet Engels - Revolution ::.
.:: Language(s): English ::.

To the tune of: To the tune of: Florence and the Machine - No Light, No Light

People dying, underfed
Parents crying, children dead
Show no emotion, be a machine
Hanging on by a thread

Living on life's frontier
Wake up every morning filled with fear
Every day you lose your heart
We've all bled, we've played our part

Tonight we fight, for every child who's died
Can't waste another life and stay silent
The revolution will come today
For too long it's the many who've been betrayed

We'll make no return, to yesterday
Tonight we fight
(We fight)
The revolution comes today

Yell out loud ,oh, shout it out, oh,
Say we're not just workers with no names or faces, oh
Adversity caused our fight
Tomorrow we're free, keep the fight till daylight

Here comes the revolution,
Here comes the class fight
The people's liberation,
It's time to make it right
Here comes the revolution
Escape from destitution
Here comes the revolution

Tonight we fight, for every child who's died
Can't waste another life and stay silent
The revolution will come today
For too long it's the many who've been betrayed

We'll make no return, to yesterday
Tonight we fight
(We fight)
The revolution comes today

Time to be free-eeeee,
Together, we will overcome
And we will stay free,
If we remember what we've found
Removed the scars from life,
Strength is in the crowd...

Tonight we fight, for every child who's died
Can't waste another life and stay silent
The revolution will come today
For too long it's the many who've been betrayed

We'll make no return, to yesterday
Tonight, we fight
The revolution comes today

Here comes the revolution,
Here comes the class fight
The people's liberation,
It's time to make it right
Here comes the revolution
Escape from destitution
The revolution comes today

.:: Interval Act ::.
.:: Harriet Engels - Fight For Love::.
.:: Language(s): English ::.

To the tune of: To the tune of: Florence and the Machine - Shake It Out

Feel like my heart has succumbed to flames
One strand of hair is my blackest omen
I can feel her here, I can feel her here
Living my own personal doomsday

Yet every touch sets my mind afresh
Every single word sounds so heartfelt
And when I feel I can't go on...
Together we can fight the storm

If they call me a fool, boy I won't mind
Because I can't see a future without you in my life
We will find a way, we will find a way
Baby, I'll pick you up when you fall down

After your confession, I thought I drowned
But then I realised our love will rebound
You and me, we can move on
Together we can fight the storm

Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
And I know it's tough but we'll make it work
We'll fight for love, oh whoa

Just a few hours when we're apart
And I need you to restart my broken heart
You and me, we can move on
Together we can fight the storm

Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
And I know it's tough but we'll make it work
We'll fight for love, oh whoa

And I know it's tough but we'll make it work (fight for love)
When we fight for love we'll heal any crack (fight for love)
A second chance yet it feels like when we begun (fight for love, fight for love)
Together we can fight the storm (Oh whoa, oh whoa)

They said I should leave you but baby I won't
They say I should hate you but baby I don't
Yes we had a stutter but we've broken that ice
Because baby I need you to keep my heart afloat
'Cause just by your presence, my soul can be free
Just by your presence, my soul can be free
Guess we'll meet in hell because they'll always be you and me, yeah

Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
And I know it's tough but we'll make it work
We'll fight for love, oh whoa

Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
Fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, fight for love, ooh whoa
And I know it's tough but we'll make it work
We'll fight for love, oh whoa

Check the Opening Post.

We are at the host bidding submission and Sign ups right now. This happens for two weeks. Then, as we vote for our host, we get the last sign ups in.

When our host is picked, they will open the IC Thread where we post our entries after the Opening Act(s).

Good to be back. I hate to come back here in such a cliché time right after Eurovision, but I'm getting a lot of free time now after my exams and I'm gonna need some amusement that doesn't require a stable internet connection. Figured I'd hang on NS for at least a while.

''Yes, welcome, I am Samuel Praetor, and this is my friend, and co-host, Amy Weakes. Tonight, we have 8 songs battling it out to represent Ethane in Worldvision.
''This is a new thing for Ethane, and we do hope all you citizens, and all those in other countries watching this online or through their own tv networks, get involved, and vote when the time is right, and voting begins after all the songs have been performed.
''Thank you for joining us tonight. First up, we have someone who was supposed to be performing at the last edition, but was suffering with a bad illness, and therefore couldn't compete. It's James Anderson, with ''Free My Soul''.

Free My Soul
James Anderson

''What a marvellous entry that was, and from the crowd's reaction, certainly one that people will like.''
''Yes, this guy is a really big singer, and it is looking like he could be in contention to get to represent Ethane at Worldvision!''
''Next up, a new artist I have to say, will be trying to represent Ethane at Worldvision. Here it is, Eric Balfour and Lucas Malborough are performing for you now at the Meditationis Musica I.

The Song
Eric Balfour, Lucas Malborough

''A good song there, and one that you will be able to vote for at the end of the show.
We will be coming back to Eric Balfour later in the show, who will be performing his own song to be voted upon as well.
''Up next, however, we have Chris Harris performing his song, only on the Meditationis Musica I.

The Song
Chris Harris

''What a nice voice he has, and the crowd sure love it.''
''I reckon you guys love it. Lets see what we have next in store for you all though.''
''Next up, we return to a very special artist, who has competed in Worldvision before for Ethane, last time they participated, and got their highest finishing position - and their only one in the top 10 - in Worldvision 46. Jeremy Granger and his brand new song, with his new backing singer Alex Wilkins, only on the Meditationis Musica I.''

The Song
Jeremy Granger, Alex Wilkins

''That blew me away. I don't know about you guys but that song was amazing, and extremely emotional.''
''It was. Whether it is right for Worldvision, we'll have to wait for everyone to vote, but amazing that was.
''Its time for him to come back again. Here it is, Eric Balfour, with his own song, only on the Meditationis Musica I.''

The Song
Eric Balfour

''Both of his songs are great, I can't even.''
''The crowds seem to love this guy, lets wait until everyone votes though.''
''Next up, its the duo that made everyone emotional just a moment ago, with another one of their fairly new songs. Performing now, Jeremy Granger and Alex Wilkins, only on the Meditationis Musica I.

The Song
Jeremy Granger, Alex Wilkins

''What is it with them and emotional songs. Just touching. Certainly silenced the crowd with awe.''
''Such a great performance, but how much will it connect with the voters at home?''
''Moving on, we now have a song by the group Fresh Up, only on the Meditationis Musica I.''

The Song
Fresh Up

''A really interesting song, and certainly different from others that we have had tonight.''
''It really is a good chance, much like all the songs here tonight, and you will get to vote on the one you want to represent Ethane at Worldvision, as soon as all the songs have been performed.''
''Next up, a brand new song, literally only just released, and not yet charted in Ethane as of yet, because of how fresh it is, this is This and That, only on the Meditationis Musica I.''

The Song
This and That

''That was such a great song, and a real hit with the crowd.''
''The crowd are going wild now. That was amazing.''
''That is all 8 songs performed now, which means it is time for voting.''
''Remember, you may vote in order of your favourite to least favourite, with 12 for #1, 10 for #2, 8 for #3, 7 for #4, 6 for #5, 5 for #6, 4 for #7 and 3 for #8.''
''The online voting is now open. Get your votes in to Ethane as soon as possible.
''It is important that you get your votes in quickly, so that you don't miss the deadline, which is the 6th June 2016.
''Now, to fill in the time between now and when we announce the votes, here is the previous Ethanian entry, ''goodbye'', bye Jeremy Granger, who placed the highest in the tournament Ethane has ever placed in edition number 46, with 75 points, getting into the top 10. Here it is for you.''

Jeremy Granger - ''Goodbye''

Jeremy Granger walks onto the stage, wearing his trademark beanie hat propped on his head, while also dressed in a suit and tie. He is holding a microphone in his right hand, He switches it on by the switch, before bringing it up to his mouth and looking out into the crowd. The cameras focus on his face as the music begins to play, as Jeremy sings the lyrics into the microphone, smoothly vocalising each of the syllables. A few dim lights are shining across the stage, creating a dull, dark atmosphere on the stage to fit with the context of the song. In his position, he appears to be looking over a grave at the audience, represented by a man lying on the ground, with his gravestone at his head. There are 3 other people as well as him standing around the gravestone, all dressed in suit and tie, as if they were attending a memorial.

Here we are,
Standing round this gravestone,
I’m feeling so alone,
Mourning for the loss of him,
So cold,
I know this won’t go away,
My life will never be the same without him.

Jeremy begins to walk around the gravestone, glancing down at the grave while singing the pre-chorus. A single spotlight beams down upon the grave, and Jeremy walking around it, looking down, on top of the dim lighting already being used, to make the stage actually visible. Lighting and rain appear on the LED screen at the back of the stage, but no sound effects are used to show the environment around the singer.

Don’t tell me any-more,
My emotions don’t want another war to carry on,
Those times, I look back,
They bring back memories of you, Jack,
I miss everything, miss everything.

Yellow lights are flashed onto the stage, brightening up the atmosphere. The rain and lightning stops, revealing a warm, sunny spring day on the LED screen at the back of the stage. Jeremy moves forward towards the front of the stage, staring into the cameras which have once again focused on his face, getting closer to the ecstatic crowd. The men in suits around the grave begin a dance routine which has been prepared by them before the show. The man who was lying in the grave is pulled up by strings, and 'flown' around the stage like a bird, portraying him as free. As the chorus comes to a close, they all return back into their original positions at the start of the song, in the grave scene.

He’s been set free,
It’s not hard to see,
He was taken to a better place above, hm hm,
Up into the sky,
Now he can fly,
Soaring with the birds, these words, I’ve said goodbye.

The yellow lights turn off, returning to the dimly lit grave scene atmosphere of the first verse. The spring imagery on the LED screen at the back of the stage returns once again to the lightning and rain of the grave scene, without sound effects. Jeremy retreats to walking around the grave again, appearing miserable at the death of his friend. The dancers have all returned the grave scene, as well as the dead character. Jeremy's facial appearance becomes dismal and upset, making it seem like he is about to cry, as he looks at the audience over the grave.

Here I am,
Lamenting in my own mess,
In reality less and less,
In my own,
I’m crying,
I feel I’m dying,
The pain inside is too much for me to bear.

For the second pre-chorus, Jeremy kneels at the side of the grave, looking at the character lying there to represent the dead body, portraying a heartfelt scene, on which the cameras focus on. A solitary tear rolls down Jeremy's face as he ends the pre-chorus, standing up ready to move for the chorus.

Don’t tell me any-more,
My emotions don’t want another war to carry on,
Those times, I look back,
They bring back memories of you, Jack,
I miss everything, miss everything.

Going into the chorus, there is a move away from the graveyard scene back towards the spring-like scene again, in which the character of the dead body is once again on steel wires hanging from the ceiling, allowing the dead character to be portrayed like a bird, as sung in the chorus. The yellow lights are once again on, with the screen behind showing a sunny, warm spring scene. The 3 men in suits are once again doing their dance routine behind Jeremy, who is in front of the scene facing the audience.

He’s been set free,
It’s not hard to see,
He was taken to a better place above, hm hm,
Up into the sky,
Now he can fly,
Soaring with the birds, these words, I’ve said goodbye.

Everything remains in the spring scene behind him, but freezes, and all the lights behind him turn off, with only a solitary spotlight beaming down on Jeremy, who is stood centre-front stage. He kneels down singing passionately into the microphone. You can see he is struggling to keep his emotions inside him as a few more tears roll down his face, with more threatening to come out, adding the the portrayal of the scene.

Mmm,
And you’re gone,
Forever,
My whole life is gone, you’re gone,
And you’re gone,
Forever,
My whole life is gone,
It’s the end.

As it goes into the last lines of the song, the spring scene jumps back into the life, as if it was never frozen, with all the lights returning to full intensity. Jeremy remains knelt down on the floor at the centre-front part of the stage, tears running freely down his face as he looks upwards. They all remain in this status, with the dancing and spring scene from the end of Jeremy's singing to the moment when the music cuts out.

Yeah, up into the sky,
Yeah, he can fly,
Now I’ve said goodbye.
Fly.

''Thank you Meditationis Musica.'' Jeremy spoke into the microphone as the rest of his act filed off the stage. ''I would like to dedicate this to one of my friends, who died recently after taking drugs.'' He sobs. ''Thank you anyway''. As he walks off the stage, the crowd gives him a massive ovation, giving him a smile amongst the millions of tears.

Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
Best WorldVision Finish: 2nd. Best World Cup Finish: Quarter-Finals. Best KPB Rank: 8th. Best WBC Finish: 1st.

Sort of. However, you've got to know what you're doing, and all the proper terminology and everything (and have a proper interest in or actually do linguistics). I'll regret ever mentioning it
