Personality: Outgoing and excitable, aggressive and friendly, though retains that famed Marshite fatalism and and belief in predetermination.

Short Bio: Bhavin is the only son of a middle-class clergy family in the capital. Raised with exceptional expectations due to a history of success and bravery, he stood apart from his peers physically and mentally with an unusually aggressive nature from birth. His drive to succeed made him a superb student. His love of organized fighting was born young, and ever since the age of seven he has competed in bi-weekly MMA fights in whatever organized capacity was available. Bhavin was one of his few peers to welcome the events of The Shift as a decidedly religious affair, and has taken to his new body with aplomb. His parents volunteered him as part of a exchange program, and Bhavin dutifully- if not pleasantly- has accepted this.

Religion: Monotheistic Marshite member of the Military Shrine.
What Accent Does the Character Have and Other Information Tidbits: Accent is Punjabi Indian. As with most Marshites, is very religious and takes his obligations seriously. Luckily for most, his religion is amazingly liberal. Very driven and sporty, with extremely high marks in combat sports. Enjoys using firearms- has spent the better part of six years with weapons and military theory training daily.

Named after the distinct tint of her irises, she was born into an upper-middle class Jewish family, who had immigrated to Acronius in the 1940s seeking refuge from the ongoing war across the border in Kradowska. Alternating between Lionsgate and Defense - an English-speaking city and a French-speaking city respectively - throughout her childhood, she quickly picked up both languages, and currently speaks both of them fluently. She had an otherwise normal upbringing.

What Accent Does the Character Have and Other Information Tidbits: Possesses an atypical vocal register best described as somewhere between smoky and honeyed. A dash of mysteriousness and its to-the point nature oddly pulls people in to listen closer. She's an excellent liar who utilizes this skill when she needs to get out of the trouble, but generally not for other things. Or, maybe a bit. ...Okay, all the time.

Makes up for expert laziness with an even more masterly talent at cheating tests. Rebellious at times but means well most of the time. Generally cements himself into a tight group of friends, which become his comfort zone.

Short Bio: Hazel's twin brother, Jason was raised alongside his sister throughout his life. He picked up English and French as well, and is fluent in both languages. He alternated between Lionsgate and Defense as a child, being separated from either of his parents for weeks or months at a time once in a while, but practically never left his sister's side. Originally your typical straight-A student who aced everything without studying and using all his free time to play, things went awry when classes progressed to levels beyond Jason's general knowledge: and his grades took a drop from there. He made up for this by cheating his way through the years, and has since heightened his grades back to respectable levels as a result.

Short Bio: Raviv was born into an old, traditional and wealthy Orthodox Jewish Kwadaian family in Tripoli, Kwadai's capital city. Raviv and his family relocated to Tel Tzova a Jewish neighbourhood of Benghazi, about 50 km outside of the city, where they own a large private house on the fringes of the desert. It was soon after this when fourteen year old Raviv chose not to identify with any particular denomination of Judaism, yet still keeping his faith. He attends an elite all boys boarding school Al Waleed Academy from which he was given the opportunity to join the IESP, which the academy is in cooperation with.
Religion: Judaism (non denominational).

Short Bio: Zayna is from Benghazi, where she has lived all her life, but not always in the same house. Growing up Zayna didn't exactly have a huge family life, as her parents were constantly working. As a result, she grew very close to the family's maid, a Hindu from Southern Asia. This contributed greatly to her love of foreign cultures. Like Raviv, Zayna attends Al Waleed Academy but of course in the girls school, a separate campus. With Raviv Hadad being chosen as the male representative of the school at IESP, Zayna was selected as the female representative.

Short Bio: Francis was born in the Cenerian city of Spurr, on the south coast of Alpine Island. He grew up with his parents and two younger sisters in Alpine, the capital of Ceneria. His father is a native Swedish speaker, and encouraged all three of his children to learn the language. Francis grew up speaking it along with English in his home. When he was thirteen, his family moved to Whiteclyff. There, he became exposed to the IESP through his high school and joined the program two years later.

MARYAM GONZÁLEZ, 18 yo

Personality: A bold and sometimes rash young girl, Maryam is best described as "determined" and won't take 'no' for an answer; proof of this is how she forged her parent's signatures to enroll in Justo Tlatoani High School, the most prestigious high school in Meshik. She was accepted, and soon found out that the high school had been chosen to host the very first IESP. The perfect example of Neo-Meshikan friendliness and hospitality, she quickly made many friends among the foreign students, and treasures these memories quite fondly. Her incredible loyalty coupled with a certain impulsiveness means she is also prone to getting into some trouble, though never willingly; rather, she does what she can to protect those at a disadvantage, especially her friends. When she learned that the IESP was being held again, she leapt at the chance and applied immediately.
Fluent Languages: Meshikan Spanish, English, Meshikan Arabic, German.
Most and Least Favourite Subjects: Maryam has a wide variety of interests, including literature, languages, math, history and science. She is less gifted at music and art, and therefore tends to avoid those subjects if possible.
Picture/Description: A Neo-Meshikan of Arab descent, she has olive skin and large, almond-shaped, dark brown eyes. Her face shows her Middle Eastern heritage, and is framed by thick curls of the blackest hair you have ever seen. She perhaps only "moderately attractive" by most standards, but those who get to know her are often enchanted by a strange kind of 'inner beauty', perhaps attracted to her willfulness and sociability. She is tall, slim, and rather athletic.
Short Bio: Born in pre-revolutionary times to a humble but overprotective family in the northern Neo-Meshikan city of Qahira, she knew poverty well growing up. When the revolution broke out in her early teens, she was all for it, and celebrated when the socialists won three years ago. She and her family are supportive of their socialist government, and it shows in her attitude. Like most Neo-Meshikans, she is absolutely averse to anything even remotely resembling a monarchy, and perhaps the only thing she hates more than capitalism is racism and xenophobia. She has a smaller brother and sister back home.
Religion: Neo-Meshikan progressive Islam.
Accent and Other Tidbits: Although she can speak four languages fluently, her Spanish is of the Meshikan variety, while her English retains a vague Arab quality, especially in the pronunciation of some softer consonants.

JAIME STRAUSS-QAMARA, 19 yo

Sexual Orientation: Generally described as "straighter than a ruler"

Personality: Jaime does his best to keep his feelings bottled up; the only time he allowed himself to fall in something like love, with a foreigner from the Haven during the first IESP, his heart was broken when she decided to return to her nation at the end of the year. He is more careful about his feelings ever since; nevertheless, he's matured a bit since his freshman antics. He can come across as quite cocky, but that is just a mask to hide his real self. He is less of a bully than he was before, and, though he doesn't look it, he can be surprisingly considerate of others. Like Maryam, he also treasures the memories of that first exchange program, and was only too excited at the opportunity to participate in it himself.
Fluent Languages: Meshikan Spanish, English, Meshikan Arabic, German, Pruman Latin.
Most and Least Favourite Subjects: He enjoys languages and literature, and math and history to a lesser extent. He is, however, a surprisingly good student.
Picture/Description: Jaime is often described as incredibly handsome, despite his pale appearance. His large, green eyes make sharp contrast with his dusty hair, though he has recently had to start wearing glasses. He is quite tall, with a slim yet well-defined torso.
Short Bio: Born and raised in Meshik, the capital, Jaime is the definition of the boy who had everything growing up--everything money could buy, that is. But that did not include his parent's attention, and his childhood was rather lonely, if luxurious. After the Meshikan Revolution, his family's vehicle manufacturing empire has been waging a constant legal battle with the government; they've fought expropriation for about three years, yet seem to be nearing the loosing side with every passing month. This has put considerable stress on his parents, and Jaime is constantly at loss for what to do. He loves his family, yet prefers not to show it.
Religion: Neo-Meshikan progressive Islam.
Accent and Other Tidbits: Jaime has a good command of five languages, and his Neo-Meshikan accent in each language is nearly imperceptible.

Short Bio: Liselotte was born to a rather ordinary-looking middle class family yet exceptional in many ways, thanks to Liselotte's grandmother Annika the Wonderful whose deed when she was young immortalized forever among the Youth League. Liselotte grew up in quiet neighborhood in the suburb of Störfurt, attended ordinary public school near her home, but everything change when she reached 6^th grade - the age when young boy and girl in Markomann would join Youth League. As the first female descendant of Annika the Wonderful, news of Liselotte finally joined Mädelbund was national sensation, to the dismay of Liselotte who felt pressured by legacy of her grandmother.
Religion: She is a member of Evangelical Church in Markomann Imperial Realms, however, like a lot of Markomann, isn't a churchgoer.
Accent and Other Tidbits: Liselotte's grandmother, Annika Kohler (aka Annika the Wonderful) was the youngest person ever received the Crimson Cross, the highest award anyone can get in Markomann Imperial Realms. When she was 12 Annika and her friend witnessed a kidnapping of young boy on their way back home from Mädelbund meeting, she sent her friend to alert the authority while she herself sneaked after the kidnappers to their hideout. The boy was saved and Annika was highly praised. Her story of courage and determination is romanticized and retold by Youth League (more so by the girls of Mädelbund who look up to Annika with admiration) until nowadays.

Usually only has a few close friends, and ignores most other people. As a result, he has a tendency to make enemies without meaning to due to his stand-offish attitude.

Personality: Sonja is a major free-thinker. She doesn't care what society thinks or says, she does what's right for her and stays true to herself. She's very approachable and knows how to keep a conversation rolling, and usually comes across as friendly. She's very out-of-the-box and is pretty eccentric.

Short Bio: Sonja, like Rikhard, was born in the town of Gávrion, to a lower class family. Her upbringing wasn't necessarily abusive, but she was often ignored and had no real relationship with her family, preferring instead the company of her friends. She recently was kicked out of her home after her parents discovering her sexuality and has since been living in a small apartment with 3 roommates. Her work ethic is quite impressive, being able to contribue 25% of all bills with a part-time job as well as keep her grades up. She plans on attending a liberal arts college at some point and her passion is to become a sculptor and writer.
Religion: Buddhist Convert
Accent and Other Tidbits: A more thick accent than Rikhard, a bit harder to understand.

[Chernarus State]

Personality: Cold, stoic personality with emphasis on strength and personal merits. Taras, being raised in the capital of Chernarus, has been taught by military officers to become a soldier, thus requiring little emotion. Like most Chernarusians, however, Taras takes pride in protecting his fatherland, which includes parroting government policies such as Russophobia and militarism. Similarily, Taras is sexually repressed, the State emphasizing little on revealing personality, so hitting on him would fly right past his face. Like most Chernarusians, Taras will dehumanize anyone seen as being 'weak' or 'unwilling,' as he would to a Russian or political dissident, and prefers violence over diplomatic talk. In short, Taras resembles a sociopathic soldier but can contain himself most times. Back home, Taras was known as a fighter, oftentimes leaving with cuts and bruises from attacking the Russian gangs in downtown Kirov.
Fluent Languages: English, Chernarusian (A unique language that is a mix of multiple Slavic, Turkic, and Germanic languages; Chernarusian is rather difficult to decipher due to its nature as being connected to multiple languages, with few natural Slavs and Turks able to translate)
Most and Least Favourite Subjects: History (Military being the most favored), Physical Education, and Science. Art, Literature, Math, and Music are not as emphasized, due to his belief in brute strength rather than enlightening himself further in academics.
Picture/Description: Taras has been called an 'ox in human skin;' being 6'2" and about 250 lbs, most of it muscle has made him appear more like an actual soldier than a student. His scars from constant fights have furthered enhanced this view. Other traits include a heavily scarred upper body (a scar covering the left eyebrow all the way to the jawline from a chunk of glass during a fight, along with a large burn scar covering most of the right side of his face and shoulders from a Molotov cocktail during a Russian insurgent attack in Kirov,) dark brown hair, cut medium, and a large, trimmed beard. Taras has grey eyes, but notably, the sclera to both eyes are permanently red from bloodshot for unknown reasons. Taras also has high endurance and is athletic, as well as incredibly strong, but oftentimes pushes himself beyond his physical limit, injuring himself
Short Bio: Born and raised in Kirov, Taras' father was a soldier from the early days of Chernarus' history as a post-Soviet republic while his mother served as a secretary for the local city government. Taras was raised in the slums during the final years of the Chernarusian Civil War, eventually moving to the upper districts of Kirov. Raised to despise the corruption of the Chernarusian SFSR and the Communist Party, Taras readily accepted the ideology of the New Unity Party, which dominated the country since independence, believing in the ultranationalism and totalitarianism that the Party espoused, along with Russophobia. By the age of 13, Taras had grown into a violent man, even joining the pogroms against Russians in the aftermath of the Russo-Chernarusian War. Eventually, Taras' parents, concerned with his behavior, decided to place him into a military training program in high school but has only served to further push Taras into violence, fighting constantly. In terms of politics, Taras has served to become 'the shining beacon' of loyalty and ruthlessness the Party espouses and was selected for the IESP to ensure Chernarusian exceptionalism.
Religion: Despite his parents readily adopting Roman Catholicism after the fall of the Chernarusian SFSR, Taras, wishing to emulate New Unity Chairman and President Sergei Zarchevko, has accepted atheism, further dividing him from his parents.
[b]Accent and Other Tidbits: Taras has a Chernarusian accent when speaking English, which resembles a mix between Slavic and Turkic. Also, Taras has been accused of drug usage, explaining the permanent red sclera, but has never been proven, and received his burn scars from a Democratic People's Front (Predominantly Russian insurgent group responsible for starting the Chernarusian Civil War) attack on Kirov in 2014

Personality: Jasper is the quiet person in the back of the class, though he would put himself forward if it was forced upon. He doesn't like to get in to conflict a lot. Like a lot of Britonish People, his emotions are quite soft meaning, he does have a feeling a being wanted and when he is wanted from someone, he'd make the most of it. Jasper likes to think inside the box before thinking about going outside. He needs some encouragement from friends to get him through this experience without breaking down.

Short Bio: Jasper was born in Quickenden, a booming city which was only recognised after it's major revamp a few years ago. When he was younger, Quickenden was only a little village no one really cared about. He was happy. He attended Quickenden East Primary School before going on to Quickenden Academy - which he currently goes to now. Jasper came from a modest background as his father worked as a manager of a store chain and his mother works at an office for pensions and payouts. He isn't rich, but he isn't poor either. Jasper had a breakdown once before in Year 8 in Quickenden Academy and took a few weeks off school. He was over-stressed. Finally, he likes to travel around a lot, especially his humongous origin; Britonisea.

Personality: Kavylen Ilanaril is the far more intense of the two when it comes to academics, though one wouldn’t guess it simply from looking at the difference in the sisters’ grades. She has an excellent visual memory and reads voraciously, with an ability to focus for long periods of time on things she’s interested in, generally to do with the politics and workings of the world around her. She typically studies far more than her sister, not necessarily because she needs to for the sake of her grades but simply because she enjoys commanding the material she cares about. Beyond this, she’s fiercely loyal to her sister and as such isn’t all that bothered about being exceedingly popular or having a plethora of friends– though that’s not to say that she minds such things. Although she generally remains fairly calm outwardly, this is mostly a product of the fact that she conceals emotional swings well. She also sings, quite well in fact, though she refuses to perform for an audience alone because it embarasses her slightly. She has a less developed veneer of calmness, preferring to react verbally (somewhat explosively on occasion) to random events and things that happen. Collective Short Bio:
Both Noyarin sisters have led a fairly interesting life to date, both because of their parents and general circumstances and because of their own penchant for ignoring rules in the interest of fun. In many ways, they aren't all that different from your typical diplomat's children; their mother was the ambassador to the other archipelagic nation of Asténikel and later the large continental power of Murienu. As a result, they grew used to extensive travel, both back home for vacations during their early life and later to visit their mother while in secondary school. Part of Kavylen's interest in international relations is certainly attributable to the fact that when she was allowed, she would always peek over her mother's shoulder when in her office to see what (possibly classified) project or negotiation she was working on. The other main product of this early life was the fact that their father homeschooled them while in Asténikel, as he was a university literature professor and writer fully capable of teaching them how to think and argue– though they were quite adept at the latter already. Both sisters picked up fencing upon their return to Térenquel, preferring it to normal organised sports both because there's something classy about poking people with a sword but also because it allowed them to compete both with and against one another on a regular basis, something they continue to enjoy to this day.
In primary school, both sisters quickly realised that they were fast learners and had a good command of the material. While this tended to make schoolwork easy for them, it also could get them in trouble when they were bored and preferred mischief-making to focusing in class. During this period in life, they also grew a bit more adept at navigating social situations outside the family, and developed a close-knit circle of friends. Although both generally enjoyed school across the board, they found when going into secondary school that they felt more enthralled by the social sciences as opposed to the natural ones, at least in an educational setting. Additionally, because they ended up sharing many of the same classes, Kavylen and Lisanel quickly realised that they could get things done rather more quickly by co-operating on assignments and scathingly reading one anothers' essays, something that provided them with an additional way to hone their skills academically. Meanwhile on the social side, the Noyarin sisters became conscious of the fact that in secondary school, people were experimenting with dating (god forbid), and promptly stuck their noses in the air and pretended not to notice various boys. This was more a product of not wanting to have the other sister think they cared than of any innate distrust of males, and by their fifth year both of them were seen as slightly more approachable, if still clearly out-of-bounds for romantic involvement a la "touch my sister and I'll get you with my sword!"
By the first trimester of their sixth year, both girls were nearly done with the standard curriculum at their school* and were beginning to look into what precisely they wanted to do with the rest of their lives. Seeing as both had an interest in travelling abroad and the study of other cultures, they resolved to go on an exchange somewhere for the third trimester of that same year. As such, they're hoping that studying abroad for a bit will give them a bit clearer picture of what to pursue in their final year of secondary school before moving to university.

*The Terenquelid schooling system has one finishing the required classes for graduation in the second trimester of the sixth year. This leaves the last trimester and all of the seventh year to take what are in effect introductory-level university courses in a range of topics the students are interested in, with the expectation being that by the time they get to university, they'll have an idea of what they want to focus on for the next three years. It's also cheaper for the state this way.

Short Bio: Born on January 21, 2000, Lucinda Midumpt was the third of three children and the only daughter. Her older brothers Henry and Micheal were 12 years and 7 years older than her, respectively. She was born in Wittopan, Wyle, Rhodevus, a small town 20 minutes from the major industrial centres of Brevin and Belvin, where her father worked as a steel engineer. Her mother was a grade school teacher at the local elementary. At the age of 7, her eldest brother Henry bought her a small golden necklace for her birthday, before he left to fight in the Rhodeve civil war; in which he was killed in action and proclaimed a nationwide hero (may get into that later). After the death of her brother, life maintained a regular pace and she grew up with excellent grades. She applied to the IESP with her mother's permission and did not realize she was accepted until a friend of hers mentioned about applying for the program in the following year.

Short Bio: Samir al Tajir was lucky enough to be born in the oasis town of Al Qubesat in the Kwadaian emirate of Jebel al Akhdar, a region widely considered the most beautiful in the nation due to the mountains and ancient dried up river valleys (wadis) it is made up of. However, despite this Samir did not have an ideal upbringing. He grew up in a conservative Islamic family and his father a general in the Kwadaian military. This led Samir to rebel from his family and developing his own way of looking at the world. His father remained keen on getting Samir to follow in the military tradition like his older brother had already done and so enrolled Samir in an elite boarding school in Benghazi to try and change his pacifist anti military opinions. However this had the reverse effect and because of being a city, Samir's views became stronger as he was surrounded by more like minded people.

Named after the distinct tint of her irises, she was born into an upper-middle class Jewish family, who had immigrated to Acronius in the 1940s seeking refuge from the ongoing war across the border in Kradowska. Alternating between Lionsgate and Defense - an English-speaking city and a French-speaking city respectively - throughout her childhood, she quickly picked up both languages, and currently speaks both of them fluently. She had an otherwise normal upbringing.

Short Bio: Hazel's twin brother, Jason was raised alongside his sister throughout his life. He picked up English and French as well, and is fluent in both languages. He alternated between Lionsgate and Defense as a child, being separated from either of his parents for weeks or months at a time once in a while, but practically never left his sister's side. Originally your typical straight-A student who aced everything without studying and using all his free time to play, things went awry when classes progressed to levels beyond Jason's general knowledge: and his grades took a drop from there. He made up for this by cheating his way through the years, and has since heightened his grades back to respectable levels as a result.

Personality: A blend of many flavors. Academically, she fits the role of a typical precocious student, displaying a sense of superiority over her friends due to her intelligence, though she is a sweet and kindhearted person (albeit competitive). Hazel and Jason's half-sister, she is the oldest and the most mature, and can often be somewhat of a manipulator with her half-siblings. The twins have a sense of humor and a mentality rather unique to themselves - one that Madeleine can sometimes have a hard time adhering to. For this reason, she often believes that she was switched at birth, and that she has no familial connection with her half-siblings. Outside of school, she is much more relaxed, and enjoys social events with friends.

Short Bio: The older half-sister of Hazel and Jason, Madeleine shares the same father as the twins, and is the product of a marriage between her father and his first wife. After that marriage collapsed, Madeleine's father went on to marry a second woman, who would eventually become the mother of Hazel and Jason, although that marriage would fail as well. Unlike the twins, Madeleine didn't fluctuate between two cities, but instead lived in Lionsgate her entire life. As such, she didn't pick up French - unlike the twins, who spent years in the francophone city of Defense. Also unlike the twins, Madeleine rarely, if ever saw her father ever, whereas the twins would fly out frequently to visit their father (who lived in Lionsgate).
