Nasha Tants and Leonardo King will represent Britonisea in the 46th WorldVision Song Contest

As if Mehlodhifehstivalhen wasn't expensive enough already, BVC decided that the contest will be a selection for the World Hit Festival, which starts again later on next month. Mehlohdifehstivalhen organisers were left on a bum note when they had to strip back the "WorldVision National Selection" from all their promotional photos, arenas and advertisements, which have already landed on televisions around Nightom and Britonisea. After increased concern as to whether an internal selection will follow the nation from now on, CEO of Brityunik Vefecosoin Cairkovoin, Tony Hawkes stated in a press conference that, "Brironisea will return to it's previous format, Mehlodhifehstivalen under a new show, which is to be released during the period of the 47th Edition. We have also gotten confirmation that Britonisea won't participate in the 47th Edition of the contest as Aloquirbe will return, on it's tenth anniversary and either Nightom or Estogium will join Aloquirbe." This also left fans on a sad note after a string of WorldVision success after the win in Quickenden a few editions ago.

The song, "Oh yeah" hasn't been released to the public, yet. However, "Oh yeah" was voted as the Britonish Song for the contest by a panel of 30 personnel. 15 being from WVSC Britonisea's fan base, WSCBRI.com and 5 was chosen from BRCoM, Britonisea's leading Music University which is located to South West of the nation in Doportedas. The rest where representatives from Mehlodhifehstivalhen and BVC's music channel, BVC Dance. Apparently, the song is different from Britonisea's usual entries, a woman singing to background dancers who don't really need to be there.

The song will be released in the coming days.

Alexis Stadium in Anton, increased capacity
Yesterday, workers finished off the expansion to a multimillion pound Stadium in Anton. The stadium, costing 8.9 million, was erected in June of 2013. Spectators enjoyed conserts, soccer matches and fireworks displays, until the owner finalised a deal with another company, to expand the stadium. The stadium has been closed since October of 2014, and has finally been opened.
The expansion can now hold 65,000 spectators, and is looking to be the host stadium of the new soccer tournament. However, the Harvey Stadium in La Nevadas, can hold 92,000 spectators, and may be the most logical choice for a host stadium.

TWO SHERSHENIAN TERRORISTS ARRESTED

Another success of Arioslavian special forces in a rightful struggle against the backward Islamist movement. Last evening, two members of the traitorous terrorist organisation ISS have been arrested in a joint operation of KGB and Spetsnaz in Seryozny. Due to high professionalism of our brave forces the action was quick and the terrorists had no time to resist or escape. The men are accused of preparing the act of terror during the meeting of the local CPA section. In their apartments, the KGB found machine guns and Islamist propaganda pamphlets.

The action shows that the Arioslavian state is ready to face the threat of organised terrorism. Our citizens are safe. By this action, the KGB and Spetsnaz send a clear message to all enemies of Arioslavia that nobody should threat our great Socialist Motherland.

Britonisea announces hosting bidding details for Regional Football Championship

Eventhough the World Cup cycle is happening right now with a few matches happening, Britonisea needs more football in it's country. After the Sports Council announced a little interest in hosting the competition, next month, Britonisea's Britwit pages and GBK Sports have been buzzing with who is to host the competition. If Britonisea were to host the competition, we could be able to imagine a clean cut competition providing all of the matches in full HD! But, what if Andzhalswoodosia holds it? Surely, it would be like being in the same country?

Zelmerlow, Quickenden and Telm City are very close to Andzhalswoodosia, and comes to think of it, many of the successful cities are on the Andzhalswoodosian border. If ZQT were to host the tournament, we would be very close to Andzhalswoodosia so we can imagine a lot of Andzhalswoodosians to come across their Northern border in order to watch the competition. If Andzhalswoodosia were to host, the competition would probably be the same...but with a different scenery and branding.

It may be obvious that the competition will be held in the Western World to start with, the Americas but what if the competition were to be held in a Eastern country? Or held in Ekoz? What about Sparks? We haven't heard any confirmation of this, but if they show interest, we will be catching you up. We held an online poll, and Ekoz, being the region's richest nation, was 1st on the Poll of "If the Americas didn't host the Regional cup, who would?" and comments have been saying that they could host a top notch contest with the infrastructure they have.

We just have to wait and see. The deadline is in four days, so let's hope some bids come in and hopefully Britonisea will be apart of the list too.

Tanzeratti Football Association releases official details for host bid
Day, the Tanzeratti Football Association (TFA) released official information, regarding the Ultimaverse Football Championship Cup. First, the cities La Nevadas, Anton and Hyderstad have been revealed to be the cities which if won, the matches will take place. Second, if won, La Nevadas and Tanzeratti's largest stadium the Harvey Stadium will host the final. Third, if won, Tanzeratti will be paying approximately £900,000 for an opening ceremony, and 1.2 million for a closing ceremony. They involve dancers, fireworks, and shows of bright lights. Finally, David Makronatici will be representing the team that will play in the championship as manager.

Andzhalswoodosia to bid for the Regional Football Championship

At 10:08 AM (EST) today, the Andzhalswoodosian International Sports Committee has announced a 34 billion Androzhal project to bid for the Regional Football Championship. "Yes, you've heard the rumors, they're not rumors anymore, it is true. Andzhalswoodosia wants to make a contribution to the Ultimaverse by hosting what will attract all people from the corners of the globe." So far, 13 stadiums in the cities of San Andres, Seattle, Aeutikiva, Starshone, Linderik, Port Marquis, Oragino Bearbay, Sylvestro, Watkinspole, New York, and Plymouth have applied to bid for venues for this competition. However, complications arise and the time constraint is tight as the Starlight Stadium in Starshone and the Buena Vista Stadium in Oragino are reported to have their renovations completed by the 25th of February.


At a press conference, Supreme Leader Adam Watkins states, "I want the world to see the glory of Andzhalswoodosia that despite our nation being young, we are committed to affairs in the world that surrounds us today. I know that this requires billions of taxpayer's dollars to be poured in to the bidding process, but thanks to our donors and corporate sponsors, we can assure you the games can commence right here by the end of the month. With both Andzhalswoodosians and Britonish feedback on social media, praising the idea of Andzhalswoodosia's bid increasing, the Andzhalswoodosian Borders & Customs Protection has initiated a program to provide passes as low as 1.25 Androzhals to expedite the travel of hundreds, potentially thousands of Britonish sports fans, crossing the border to Andzhalswoodosia to watch the Ultimaverse Cup.

Nothern Britonisea (not to be mixed up with Estogium), has received a harsh snow storm that no one but the heads of the Vha Metejo de Brityunik Cairkovoin (The Britonish Weather Association) would've known. The snow storm started off as a light sprinkle but quickly increased and the city, Loueske, being the most Northern City is probably most at risk. That has been shown over the past night.

Rescue teams from Nightom and Britonisea have been assisting those who are trapped, but according to MdBC (The Britonish Weather Association), it's only the start of what's to come. Here is the weather across Britonisea.

Today, at 18:34, after a sudden heart strike, His Holiness Pope Innocentus XIV passed away. The death of His Holiness had been confirmed by papal Master of the Ceremonies and announced at St. Peter's Square by Cardinal Vicar.

The Conclave will be announced after His Holiness burial. Meanwhile, all powers are transfered to the College of Cardinals and Camerlengo.

Today, the Harvey Stadium, Europe's largest stadium, hosts Tanzeratti's Champions League final, between Nevadas City and Nevadas United. The attendance here is around 90,000 spectators, and the stadium is lit with red, white and blue lights. Today, Matt La Canta is live at the stadium.

Matt: The uh... The stadium is flooded with spectators from across the nation, and Nevadas City are winning 3 goals to 2. One of the greatest players in world history, Christian dos Santos, is playing on the city side, and has scored two goals... ITS IN! HE GOT IT IN! OH MY WORD! Santos with a shot from the center line... We have never seen anything like that before! My word... Now, we continue, United with the kick off. Mason, to Davids, to Phillips, to Jameson... Oh... Oohh... JAMESON! He has scored for United, Kevin Fyre, city's keeper, was no match for the Britonesian finesse of Adam Jameson. United recently paid a huge 23.5 million for Jameson last week from Anton Rovers FC. Look at that! Absolute finesse, amazing finish by Jameson. It is now 89th minute, 4-3 to City. Jameson again... To Romostat, back to Jameson... ITS IN! JAMESON! What! The ref has called offside! And Jameson is livid... 90th minute! And City have won! (*fireworks going off*) A huge display of colours that light the sky, and a display not sportsmanship. The Championship League Cup is their's for the third year running!

Britonisea misses 5th 5th-place as 4 Ultimaverse nations champion top-15 in WV45 - Host wins!

In a dramatic WorldVision song contest, which saw the top two nations with a one point difference, 6 disqualified nations; including Todlichebujoku, Dreamplanet incorporating a wonderful performance with stage directions, Britonisea missing 5th place; after it looked like Britonisea was going to end up there and a host as a winner (Last host won in WV41, Britonisea), The Sarian came triumphant with a respectful 103 points.

It is becoming more likely that the hosts of the tournaments are the winners, but the song that The Sarian sent was a true winner though only gaining 7 points from the Britonish Jury and Public votes. The song, Revolution by Harriet Engels was a well performed song with much hype in the days running up to the WorldVision Song Contest. Not even the Britannual News team thought it would happen but after nearly every nation voted for the nation, it was becoming more apparent. Porterno were last to vote. The top four were The Sarian (103), Electrum (95), Dreamplanet (93) Arioslavia (92). Ekoz was ruled out of the equation because with (90) points, they couldn't catch up to the Sarian regardless of what point they got. Everything was to play for in the last vote. Would the Sarian gain more points and zoom ahead? They only needed 5 points to secure a victory. But points were given out to everyone (including Britonisea). The final three, most important points were being released. While disqualified Todlichebujoku received Porterno's 10 points, Dreamplanet and Arioslavia were the only two nations who could beat The Sarian (Electrum only been given 1 point; ruling them out). As the 10 points were called out to be Arioslavia, a grunt was probably heard from Arioslavians though a sigh of relief from the Sarian bunch. But hold on a minute! If Dreamplanet received that 12 points, they would've taken the victory resulting in Dreamplanet in a two point lead in front of The Sarian. However, Porterno voted Polkopia - ending on 12th - and Dreamplanet finished in 4th behind Electrum. A loud cheer was heard when Dreamplanet didn't get those 12 points, though you could see the obvious disappointment of the Dreamplanet act.

We should've had 35 voting nations though only had 29. Announcing that 6 nations didn't vote accordingly bumped 18th place Nightom to 15th place forcing them to the left hand side of the scoreboard. Britonisea retained a comfortable 6th place; with a song which was called to sweet but received it's first large results from Mister X. The end of a wonderful contest. The Sarian were amazing.

Huh.

But the fun begins again! Britonisea is to announce it's song on Wednesday as well as it's committee status plead in a couple of hours. Estogium have expressed signs of hosting the 46th contest but they may back down due to the amount of disqualified nations. Ekoz has had some interest in hosting their 3rd contest. Estogium's entry is to be released in a few minutes! Keep tuned!

BREAKING: ARIOSLAVIA SECOND IN WV45, A COMMUNIST SONG WINS!

Arioslavia, represented by band The Raven with "Shadows" ends up as second in the 45th WorldVision Song Contest in Lavington! The hosts - The Sarian - received 103 points for their song "Revolution" by Harriet Engels, defeating Arioslavia by only one point. The song tells about a Communist revolution in The Sarian and hopes of the people living under oppressive reactionary regimes.

Second place is a great success for Arioslavia. Even if some suggest that WorldVision is a typical commercial contest from the West.

The song wasn't picked from the national final, "Mehlodhifehstivalhen" for a reason. BVC issued a statement to upset fans saying, "This was the right thing to do. We have picked such serious songs in the past few years and we decided to go with something different - something that could stand out from the crowd and we can do this with this song." Last edition, we received 6th place, breaking out top 5 finish but still gaining over 80 points.

The Ring Destroyed

Following the death of His Holiness, all administrative powers within the Church had been transferred to the College of Cardinals and the Camerlengo. The Ring of the Fisherman has been destroyed by the Camerlengo, indicating the beginning of the sede vacante.

The Cardinals are required to arrive to Rome in 20 days. The beginning of the conclave cannot be scheduled earlier than 15 days following His Holiness death.

His Holiness burial will take place on Sunday.

BREAKING: TERRORISTS TO FACE DEATH PENALTY

Ismail Dzhokharov and Rustam Kudayev, two ISS members arrested by the KGB on Sunday in Seryozny have been sentenced to death for treason in an extraordinary trial. The execution is scheduled for Saturday.

The human rights activist organisations as well as ISS members' families protest against the court's verdict. Mother of one of the sentenced men claims that her son is "just a pious but innocent muslim boy" and that the trial was a "disgrace". Arioslavian Human Rights and Civic Freedom Organisation stated that the AHRCFO will do everything to stop the execution.

TERRORIST'S MOTHER WRITES TO THE PRESIDENT FOR PARDON FOR HER SON, THE HEAD OF STATE REFUSES

Despite worldwide criticism and human rights organisations outrage, President Vassily Fedorov refused to pardon two Shershenian separatists sentenced to death for treason and terrorism. Yesterday, family of one of the men sent a letter to President with a petition to change the court's verdict. The letter has been signed by family members as well as civic rights organisations.

In an official statement, the president's spokesman said: "We understand the pain of the families and their emotions. However, we do not see a point in all that debate about human rights. The terrorists are criminals and, according to FA law, the punishment for anti-state terrorism is death. Emotions cannot determine our approach when it comes to execution of our state law."

Today, at 12:00, a funeral mass of His Holiness Pope Innocentus XIV took place at St Peter's Square, gathering thousends of Romans and Catholics from all over the world. The mass was concelebrated by Dean of the College of Cardinals Giancarlo Medini, Cardinal Vicar Giuliano Piombino, Camerlengo Francesco di Verone and papal master of ceremonies Louis Valence.

Meanwhile, next Cardinals arrive to Rome for conclave, which will begin on Wednesday 9th March - 17 days after the beginning of sede vacante.

Bank Robbery of Solice : £18m Britoes stolen from National Bank Vaults

Get Down: The armed men ran in to the bank telling the people to "Get Down" as £18m Britoes were stolen

Solice is a city not known to many in Britonisea. Unlike Telm City, Doportedas, Quickenden and the list of premium cities in the country, Solice doesn't have a great budget and security can sometimes be a big problem. Although this wasn't Britonisea's largest robbery, it was Solice's and the police department - said by some - were slow. Solice has been shaken by this affair as it has been reported that many suburban houses have also been robbed of people's pride possessions. We don't know if they're yet linked, but the Police Department have no reason not to consider this.

Earlier today, around 2:59 PM, a citizen of Solice called the police station saying there was a robbery at the bank of 128 Solicen High Road. Solicen, a village right at the heart of Solice, usually would be busy at this time of day, so the robbers were very brave to have done it at this time. The citizen was about to crossed the road to go to the bank when a car, which was orange, turned up and 3 men walked out of car with big machine guns - which aren't legal in the RU. It was described that one of the men were tall, with average build and the other two were around 6"0 and looked as if "they were regular gym users."

The police arrived at 3:08 PM, 3 minutes after the suspects had left. It is suspected that they had crossed the Andzhalswoodosian border which isn't that far away. Britonish Government has contacted Andzhalswoodosian officials of this incident and has urged that government to return a message back to us if they are found.

OKANUA: Prime Minister's Visit

Prime Minister Chelsea Nayo visits the Okanua Island in North-Western Administrative District. Okanua has been recently ravaged by severe storms. Many buildings in isle's capital Lapau have been destroyed. 54 people stay homeless, 45 are injured. There is no information about dead.

Prime Minister promised that her government will do any effort to help the victims of the storms.

VATICAN, ROME: Papal Burial and Waiting for Conclave

Funeral ceremonies of the deceased Pope Innocentus XIV took place at St Peter's Square, gathering crowds. Tens of thousends of Catholics are heading for Rome to observe the elections of the new Pontiff. The Curia announced that the conclave will begin on 9th March.

Innocentus XIV - born Antonio de Guzman in Ciudad de Mexico - was elected Pope in 2005, following the death of John Paul II. Before the election, he served as archbishop of Ciudad de Mexico. He died on 21st February, aged 82.

Good evening, Victoria! Well, although the St Peter's Square seems to be not very crowded by now, more and more people arrive to Rome. Even now, it's hard to find a free room in Roman hotels. The faithful from all over the world come to the Eternal City, but what's more important, next cardinals arrive to Vatican. The people try to guess who is going to be elected as a new head of the Church. The commentators claim that the most probable cardinals to be chosen - the praeferati - are archbishop of Milan Giuseppe Mazzano and archbishop of Naples Vincenzo Lamberti as conservative representants of Roman Curia, archbishop of Mainz Georg Schubert or ultra-conservative archbishop of Ciudad de Mexico Juan Ponce de Leon. More moderate candidates are Spanish cardinal Jose Luis Moncada, cardinal Paolo da Vilha from Brazil and archbishop John MacCarthy from Andzhalswoodosia. Of course, nobody in Vatican can even comment on these speculations.

World Hit Festival gets underway in Ethane

The nations Estogium and Aloquirbe will be participating in one of the smallest World Hit Festival contests Britonisea has ever witnessed. Estogium came with the song "Novelty" while Aloquirbe is going more for a ballad singing "Unconquered." Both songs are very good but it seems that Aloquirbe has topped the scales for winning the World Hit Festival. If Aloquirbe hosts the contest, it sure hopes it doesn't have a small contest like this one because that could be very bad for the economy of the nation.

It has been confirmed that if Estogium were to win, they would host their contest in Darlington, their capital, and if Aloquirbe were to win, they would host it in Aiorkhopphin - a small city with an arena of 14,000 people.

Police in Seattle close the port of entry in wake of the incident.

The Andzhalswoodosian port of entry has reopened this morning after an incident on the same afternoon a nearby robbery in Britonisea took place on February 28th.
At 3:10 PM (PST) that day, the ACBP has reported an orange car stopping up for inspection before suddenly driving recklessly out of the port of entry when questioned on the weapons they were carrying, cutting in traffic and racing to the city. The border patrol officers, armed with Beretta M9 pistols, the notification from Britonish authorities, detailing the vehicles' occupants' ties to a bank robbery have came a bit late minutes after the incident at the port of entry. The Seattle Police Department and other Andzhalswoodosian law enforcement agencies have engaged in a 37 mile long chase with the suspects' car that evening, starting from Jarely Rd in Downtown Seattle, speeding down Route 22 and entering the James Malcolm Memorial Highway. At 4:07 PM (PST), with spikestrips set up, the Washington State Police cruisers surrounded the car on Long Grove Rd, in a small town called Calvinson. A brief firefight followed when police and SWAT tactical officers encountered gunshots from the suspects' arms. After their evident apprehension, the two men were sent to a hospital to be treated of any gunshot wounds inflicted by the police. A state police convoy is currently deporting the perpetrators back to Britonisea along the money stolen from the bank and the guns confiscated by the Washington State Police.

ANCIENT CITY-FORTRESS FOUND IN TALTAYSKIY KRAY

Archeologists from the Institute of Archeology of the Telgrad State University excavated an ancient city-fortress near the village Ulus Sarlaktar in the Taltayskiy kray region (40 kilometers East of Belovodsk, the region's capital). The fortress has a rectangular shape, being 350 meters wide and 650 meters long. It's localised at the shores of the Alpay Kharyn Lake. Inside the fortress, the archeologists found the remains of 32 houses and a structure which seems to have been a palace or an administrative center, surrounded by a stone wall, which could be 6 meters high according to the scientists. What's more, whole structure is surrounded by kurgans - most likely royal tombs. The tombs contained - except human and horse skeletons (which may be a sign of ceremonial sacrifices) - mummified bodies of chieftains or kings (with well-preserved fragments of robes), gold and bronze deposits as well as ceremonial swords.

Professor Yevgeni Nabokov, leader of the excavation team stated that the complex could be a fortress used by the representants of the Pakhtara culture, which existed at the territory of the Taltayskiy kray and nearby Yebutsiya circa 3700-3250 BC. It is a surprising find. - said professor. The complex could be inhabited by 2000-5000 people. We are sure that the fortress was in use for hundreds of years. This may change our view on ancient Taltay culture, believed to be completely nomadic people. - he added.

The steppe region bordered to the South by Taltay and Samir Mountain is believed to be the land of origin of many nomadic tribes of horse raiders, including Huntays - a famous Turkic, Mongoloid or Ugro-Finnish tribe who attacked the Roman Empire in 470 AD. Some speculate that the excavated complex could be the legendary Belovodye - the "City of White Waters", a mythical city appearing in old Slavic folklore, as "Alpay Kharyn" means "White Lake" in local language.

Belovodye - sometimes identified with another mythical city of Kitezh - appears in Arioslavian folklore since tenth century AD as an ancient motherland of all Slavs, but the conception of Belovodye as a mysthic land of tranquility and peace gained popularity since sixteenth century, following the Arioslavian conquest of these lands, as an effect of Christian Orthodox religious syncrethism with local Buddhist spirituality. In nineteenth century, the Pan-Slavists used Belovodye as a simbol of their idea. The city of Belovodsk - capital of the Taltayskiy kray region - was named after Belovodye in 1880 by Governor Ivan Matveyevich Lebyedyev, who personally was a Pan-Slavist spiritualist and member of neo-pagan Ynglist cult. Many scholars believe that Belovodye is in fact a reminescence of other Asian "El Dorados" - Tibetan Xanadu, Agartha or Shangri-La, Ancient Iranic Aryana Vaejah and Indian Shambala. However, the archeologists are sceptical.

Bank Robbery of Solice : 25 years for each robber?

Nearly a week since the robbery in the city of Solice, the nation is calming down as the culprits are caught and in prison. They are expected to go on trial on Monday and are supposed to face 10 years behind bars. However, this may be increased to 25 (or even life) says The Law Agency of Britonisea based on the severity of the crime.

They criminals have been named. Three male criminals under the name's John Winkleman (23 years old), Quinton Dales (27 years old) and Lee Bradley (who is also 27 years old). They were caught by Andzhalswoodosian authorities at the border.
