Oh no just see the root of all evil, conversion, the doom of the Euro.

Exidium Planetis just states his currency bears more value than what we try to be our "Euro" and frankly I like my Energy Credit too.

I believe our financial aces can figure something out to make a switch to common currency attractive?

Well a shared currency makes it much easier for trade between nations. It also apparently makes it easier for citizens when crossing between countries, i.e. not having to exchange currency when travelling.

1. It helps to remove exchange rate fluctuations with different currencies, reduced transaction costs as no other currencies are required for business transactions
2. Possibly Stimulates trade activities, through the free movement of capital, goods and people
3. Allows countries to benefit from the strong economies of others (the inverse of course is true)
4. No need to exchange your currencies to make business transactions or for tourism
   

Mostly trade is the big benefit of a shared currency, but there's lots of disadvantages too, such as other nation's economies affecting your own...

More attractive would be that you are now relying on Auricium's currency. Less attractive (for those nations who have a currency valued lower than the credit, would be that you have less financial freedom as well as all the problems we now see with the Eurozone.

There is already a universally accepted currency that in used in nearly all trade on NS. That's the NationStates Dollar (NSD), also referred to by me as the National Standard Dollar (NS$), and it works out well for nearly all nations on NationStates. I see no reason for a unified currency, when it require my nation accepting a lower value currency, being affected by your economies, etc.
