It occurs to me that if those conditions hold (which, let's be honest, they won't as soon as Giga dips in), it wouldn't be immediately obvious to most that the language the Nayba are speaking (Ashkerron) is like 90-95% similar to 日本語. After initial contact, one of the Chinese anthropologists would have noticed and been like "wat".

Well, it isn't like everything Japanese disappeared. For example, quite a lot of Japanese escaped to China, most notably Soichiro Honda, who would later be a part of the team to reverse-engineer Chimera tech.

Keep secretive, preserve civilization, revive dead, recover shipwrecks, kidnap aliens, proliferate potato.

Might add up as time goes by.
