Leaders' Debate

Yesterday, the 8 parties met at Crannock in the Town Hall for a live televised debate. The 8 parties, Working Labour Party, Conservative and Unionist Party, Social Democratic Party, West Callumstan Party, People's Party, World Peace Party (also known as The Callumstan Green Party), Trade Unionist Party and new entry the Republican Party debated several key issues in the battle for No. 2.
The questions were taken from the audience, and each leader had one minute to giver their response and then a 5 to 10 free-flowing debate took place.

John Morris (WLP) and Leo Carson (CUP) were both questioned on their decision to instate a Senate and Janet Butler (WCP) was grilled by members on her opposal to it.

The SDP Leader Ben Reeves and current President was heavily criticised on his handling of the Callumstan Health Services budget issues and was criticised strongly by Craig Baker (TUP) on his restrictions of industrial action.

Janet when on the assault of Issac Howard (REP) on wanting to remove the 4 separate countries and instate one whole country, claiming it remove her party from office and as a result silence the voice of West Callumstan.

The leader of the WPP, Steven Reed, was attacked by Morris, claiming he voted against a key environmental protection bill during the last Parliament, which he defended his actions, stating the bill would also damage the health service.

After the debate, which featured questions on the possible Senate, the health service, the economy, childcare, workers rights and inequality issues, opinion polls the next day stated that Howard came out as th best debater, with Morris in second and Carson in third. It also stated that after the debate, the SDP opinion rating, which was already low, fell by 5%, leading some to believe it would no longer be a 3 horse race for president, but the old two horse race, between the CUP and WLP.

The fact that you continue to call our unarmed, legally-present citizens soldiers of Vancouvia is asinine and inflaming. Your country has not produced any evidence due to this fact, and if you could, it would be completely fabricated.

We demand the immediate return of our citizens' bodies in addition to the other demands previously stated. The VS Yorkford destroyer has been sent to Strolsk on assignment to reclaim our citizens. Anything other than an immediate and peaceful interaction with Yorkford will be met with a full response from Vancouvia and its allies.

Bluewaters Island project approved

Taha Resort Co. has approved plans to build a 1.2 billion dollar resort located at the tip of Versailles. The future home of the regions largest ferris wheel was set to be in Pacifique but current trends show that Versailles will be the largest and most economically booming city in the country in the near future.

The island, which is being developed by Taha resort co. is currently split into three zones. One contains the Versailles Eye - the region's tallest, 210m-high Ferris Wheel - and is surrounded by other retail and leisure units. A second zone, facing out onto the four passages sea is currenty earmarked for hotels, and a third, mixed-use zone predominantly contains residential units.

Aquaviva in Final Stages

The Aquaviva Resort management has announced that the resort is in its final stages of building, set to be completed in November 2015. The Aquaviva Resort, which was set to cost about $2.3 billion was announced 2003 and concepts were finalized in 2005. After being approved in 2008, construction came to a standstill in July of 2010 because of inadequate pressurizing devices, but was started again in December of the same year. The resort is being developed by Shell Island Resorts, Inc. and is the most expensive resort in Dashgrinaar to date.

The Aquaviva Resort will consist of 75 suites and 150 hotel rooms on the land section as well as office space. The water section contains 80 partially submerged suites, which are connected to the mainland via four sweeping arms that extend up to one kilometer horizontally. An artificial reef sprawls on the ocean floor providing scenic underwater views from the partially submerged suites, and acting as housing for many tropical fish. Pre-bookings of the suites have already been filled up past January of 2016 and the Dashgrinaari International Summit 2016 is expected to be hosted there.

Franco-Albion to host multi-national military headquarters


Franco-Albion has been invited to host the headquarters of the Mesder Sea Treaty Organization.

In a late news conference this evening, held by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Prime Minister's Office, officials announced that Franco-Albion is to be the headquarters of the Mesder Sea Treaty Organization.

The regional military organisation, which names Franco-Albion as one of its members, was set up to oversea security and joint interests in the Mesder Sea region.

Currently, the organisation consists of Miklania, Muunilenst, Polar Svalbard, Doppler and Franco-Albion.

There will be no more positions of membership in the immediate future, though it is said that other nations may join as "Partners of Peace" to assist in operations.

Franco-Albion Ministers noted that it was "a great honour" to be named as the host to the headquarters, given the nations rich past in peacekeeping operations, most recently in the ongoing situation in Western Franco-Albion - the former nation of Chikiria.

When asked if Franco-Albion would request assistance from our new MSTO allies, the MoD declined to comment, but later released a short statement:

"His Majesty's Armed Forces are not seeking assistance from MSTO in what is a purely domestic matter. The situation in Western Franco-Albion is contained to a small pocket, with the remainder of the terrorist organisation expected to collapse within the next few weeks. Our forces are making excellent progress, despite fabricated rumour mongering and slanderous comments published by some members of the press."

TRAGEDY!

At 5:00 AM this morning, Voldaflot Flight 525 a international civilian flight, crashed near the Krai Basin, as it was crossing over Yuvignon. The aircraft, registered JYX-7ANV, was a brand new Eckhard Kartin EK-177 that left from Permian Astratayov International Airport just hours ago. There were no survivors, as all 278 people, were dead.

Elector Yurin Driava spoke at seven this morning apologizing for this incident. Mr Yurin, however, has not revealed how the flight had crashed.

Dozens of citizens living near the Krai Basin were shocked to be awoken to a burning crash.

"We tried to go near to look for survivors, but the fire was too hot and strong, so we stood back." a villager tells us.

The Euranian DIrectorate of Civil Safety (EDCS) is currently investigating into the tragedy.

Oglassa Sends Aid To Vancouvia In The International District

Earlier this afternoon, Prime Minister Leonardo Gella addressed the issue of the Vancouvian occupation of the I.D. and the insurrectionist presence within, "Today, we are done with the crimes of killing innocent soldiers, today, we are sending a battalion of troops to the International District, in hopes of ending the insurrection."

Gella hopes to increase foreign relations with Vancouvia, along with a battalion of soldiers, Gella is sending the OMS Lecor, a Lecor class destroyer, to assist as well.

Trade deal announced!

Our international diplomat Turakina Mongoljin has recently acquired a large trade deal with Antigrandia. This shall bring in lots of items that we have need for and provide us with more revenue. This deal shall also be the building blocks of a hopefully strong relation between our nations.

Despite pleas from our benevolent khan Surevi, a small group of rioters caused havoc in the streets. They were members of the Christian ethnic minority and were calling upon the people to wage war upon our glorious nation. They burnt flags and destroyed buddhist images to "remove the heathen taint" of buddhism in our nation. They were eventually stopped by Bhikkustani military servicemen, but it left a foul stain upon an otherwise lovely weekend. The rioters face charges of treason and assault on religion, and will stand trial in three weeks. The expected punishment is life imprisonment with a minimum non-parole period of 30 years.

Scarlett Announces Region Tour

Scarlett the platinum selling singer/songwriter from Amérique has announced her upcoming region wide tour that millions have been anticipating for months. The 21 year old announced it yesterday on the Chanel Show, tour dates will be released in the next few days through twitter. Tickets go on sale Nov. 15th with the first show starting in early - late January. Over 6,000,000 copies of her album Mon Amour have sold in the PPU, and the remaining 2,000,000 have sold else where in the region. The Rise of Communism

Earlier today many citizens across the country woke up to see their former democratic government's flag fly for the last time. The flag which signified the freedom and liberty of Eurania was extinguished by the rising of the new communist regime's new flag.

The new flag flying over Warsawyev, formerly known as Permian, capital of Eurania.

Overnight the old republic government of Eurania handed its authority and power to the new communist government of Eurania. Citizens were astonished as Yurin Driava, the Elector, announced at 9:00 this morning that he would be in office for the last time. There is no word on what will happen to him.

The new government renamed Permian as Warsawyev as the capital of Eurania, but they are the same city. Dozens of companies and websites had to change their info on Warsawyev.

The communist regime gave a speech saying "Eurania requires communism to protect the people". Some citizens wished for the old republic government, but most chose to go with the communist regime.

Nation in panic!

The Kingdom of Camtholia was sent into a panic yesterday, as the yearly "Honour Day" parade was broken up by an explosion.

So far the "New Dawn" terrorist organisation has taken credit for the explosion that killed 4 people and injured 15. However, the explosion caused a mass panic, leading to a riot throughout the streets of Kingsport City Centre, with looting abundant.

Once the Camtholia Law Enforcement lost control of the city, the King's Guard were caught in and were able to contain and suppress the riot, dozens of arrests have been made. "Phoenix", leader of the "New Dawn" terrorists, remains uncaptured, while one officer reports seeing him in the carnage, he was nowhere to be seen once the smoke cleared.

Approximately a dozen people were killed in the riot, mostly law enforcement, with several dozen injuries, High Commander Joseph Helm commented in the aftermath: "The situation is under control, the military and law enforcement are making tracking down these terrorists a top priority, we will end the threat to this great nation". He paused, then continued "The loss of life was tragic, but we must use this time to harden our resolves, this is a test of our will, and we will succeed."

As if the day hadn't ended, dark tidings came from the West, news spread that Eurania had just undergone a Communist reformation, several executions taking place. King Alexander made a short public speech after this news, as follows: "We uphold the values of freedom, democracy and will! This will most likely not lead to war, but we must stand united. We will not be bent, we will not be broken, we will not lose hope, For Honour! For Camtholia!"

Union to embargo Communist Regime


Franco-Albion has begun taking steps to embargo the newly established Communist regime that has swept across Eurania.

The situation in Eurania has had ministers in Isenburg caught by surprise, with a communist regime sweeping into power in the formerly democratic republic. Some critics of the Liberal Conservative government have been extremely critical, stating that the Union should be quicker to react - something which may affect the polls in next week's elections.

However, in an attempt to snub the bad press, the Minister of Foreign Affairs released a statement this morning:

"We are disappointed that the duly elected government has been overthrown in the once prosperous nation of Eurania. Whilst some in the press have called for military action, our immediate thoughts are to be with the Eurania people who will now be suffering at the hands of this brutal regime."

Ministers went on to announce that a first wave of sanctions against Euranian VIPs linked to the regime will come into force later this week, and that MSTO representatives will be in talks, discussing what actions to take next. In the meantime, it appears that some of our sources have suggested that the Union has extended an olive branch to any reminants of the Euranian Republic's government or refugees, offering assylum in the Union.

Franco-Albion to aid refugee crisis

Franco-Albion has dispatched ships and aircraft to aid in the Eurania refugee crisis.

Eye witnesses at HMS Raleigh at Dungeoness, Albion, state that several ships have left port.

Dock officials stated that the ships are enroute to meet with a Miklania flotilla that is heading East.

The Union contribution is noted to be several small vessels, Union Fleet Auxillary logistical ships and the assault ship HIMS Ironborn.

In an effort to combat the surge of emigrants, the EPC has officially closed all ports until further notice. All major ports in the USSE were locked down as ships from the regional power entering the ports were turned away or be fired upon. However ships leaving and from New Aapelistan and other nations were not subjected to this rule.

The Euranian Navy has also been dispatched to combat the emigration from the USSE. However they are only staying in Euranian waters to catch the emigrants before they join international waters.

Let Peace Reign

In a statement from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs last night, the issue of Eurania's new communist regime and arguments of it had been addressed. Keeping with it's goal of promoting peace and the general rights of the people, Dashgrinaar has neither moved nor attacked the regime, though certain requests have been made of the governments.

Dashgrinaar stands on level ground, though changes in the Earth have occurred. Eurania's new communist regime has shaken the Isles, and has incited many nations against it. Also, the regime has not made many offensive actions that should spark extreme tension over the Isles. As it has not abused it's power in the way of harming it's people (to the most part), and not moved against any other nation, Dashgrinaar shall neither condemn the nation, or condone it.

However, closing ports to restrict travel of a free people should not have occurred. A government that closes it's borders just to keep people inside of it are either a) weak to the point to where they have to keep people inside or b) power hungry and undemocratic. It is a violation of the peoples freedom. Therefore:

We demand that the ports be opened, and in effect, emigration allowed
We hereby openly welcome all Euranian refugees, to come freely and happily into our nation

However, we do not sanction actions against Eurania, as attack on their ideology is not the best path to peace.

Bhikkustan pledges to help Euranian refugee crisis

With tensions rising near Eurania due to ideological differences, Bhikkustan has offered to provide asylum to 100,000 refugees. These people shall be given visas and allowed in, to aid in the humanitarian process. Some people have protested about the refugees, but Bhikkustan is proud to provide Buddha's generosity and love to these poor people. The time tested Bhikkustani immigration committee will help the new arrivals settle in to our glorious nation, and we hope that they shall find refuge here.
