OOC: Hello! I am Rodstov and Grenoda however this will be my second main! Thought I'd go for a more Democratic to go along with my Democratic Socialist country XD. SO This thread is for the nation (Colony to reflect its small size) of Robertson Islands to get out and make itself known in the world. Depending on how people respond to this will see if this stays here or moves over to the International Incidents form... (lets be gentile is a small country guy and gals XD)

RULES: THIS IS A MODERN TECH NATION... just so we are clear, I only want to hear from Modern tech or "Early" Post Modern Tech. Early being a nation that sees itself at the 2014 to 2019/20 region of time.

If you write one line in response I will ignore you. If you put effort into the the post I will reward you with putting equal effort into my response.

This day of the 3 of the month of December in the year of 2014. We the nation of Robertson Islands decree our islands are now an independent governing state!

We wish from this date forth that the peoples of the international community recognize this and confirms their support of this statement or their disapproval.

We of Scottish birth share our ancestors pride of being an independent Scottish state free from oppression and royal boot heels. We are simple men and women who will stand together through the tests that you the international community will give us and we hope to soon become an international power to be respected as our ancestors would have wanted.

Prime Minister Flynn Macleod

In Stanley on the Eastern Islands northern tip, Loyal Scotsmen and women celebrated and cheered as they were finally a nation free from foreign rule. They would enjoy as most scots would which included drinking and the local pub and enjoying the festival that was planned for that day. This feeling of independence was felt across all across the 2 island and the 776 smaller island accompanying it. Home to 5 hundred thousand people they could not be happier.

Though the looming threat that another nation might not like the fact that they were now an independant state and may want to correct that. The army of the Isles were sent to full alert for 48 hours incase that an attack should come that they would be ready to defend themselves.

Flynn had just sent out a message to all who would hear it. This was to make sure that the neighbouring countries would respect its sovereignty. He and his Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and International affairs and the highest ranking soldier were present when the message went out.

They were all waiting hoping nothing but good responses would be sent back to them.

An Aide to the Prime Minister jogs in and hands a Telegram to Flynn. Flynn nods to the woman and thanks her.

"Thank you," He said, "Who is this from?"

"Um.... A state called..." She looked at the clipboard. "Valaran Empire... The Empire of Valaran." She then corrected herself.

"Ahh I see." Flynn replies. "Thankyou." She nods and leaves the room Flynn then read the Telagram aloud to the group.

"Well thats a good start." The VPM Zain Douglas spoke. "I'm worried about what would happen if it was negative." He sits down and eyes the door to the room. The ranking soldier turns to the Vice Prime Minister and frowns. "We shouldn't worry that much. The 1st Scots Guard is deployed and our Tracked Rapier FSA Batteries and we have the Mount Pleasant Air Force base on high alert." Colonel Malcolm Campbell spoke with certainty. "We will not be left unprotected, I doubt we will be attacked." He then said turning to the Minister of Defence and Foreign Affairs. Who in turn turned to the PM.

"Sir Maybe you should reply? With a phone call or something?" Krystian Marshall said, as his duty to the PM as his Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs. He was the youngest in the room and could keep up with the pace even when the older PM and VPM would slow down.

"Yes you're quite right Krystian..." Flynn replied and picked up the phone then corrected that. He quickly wrote out his response using an old fountain pen.

The 4 men had now gathered around the PM's Desk and had started going over Col. Campbell's defence strategy during the festivities when two more telegrams arrived. The aid knocked before entering, "Sir?" she said, "two more telegrams sir, one from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Belgium..."

"Oh dear..." Zain moaned. "Here come the damn royals... I am really glad that you listened to me and didn't mention we rebelled against the Queendom of Saharani to get this freedom."

The aid smiled and continued. "oh then you will love the next one Mr. Douglas." She said coolly, "The Grand Duchy of Kington Langley."

Zain had now sat down with his face in his hands while he waited for Flynn to open and read them aloud. The tense atmosphere that Zain generated quickly subsided and the four men sighed in relief. Three Royal countries had happily acknowledged their existence without any fuss.

"I think it is safe to assume with the Queendom of Saharani now defunct because of our little rebellion we wont have to worry about that problem." Flynn said happily.

"Then again sir." The Colonel spoke, "Maybe they didn't check how we got this independance and or didn't care?"

"Our hate for Royalties knows no bounds yet here we are with three of them acknowledging our existence." Zain spoke.

"Or they learned a lesson and do not want to deal with a group of island in the middle of no where and are definitely not wanting to deal with a bunch of sheep farmers..." Krystian began. "that sounded a lot better in my head..."

This caused everyone to laugh. After they all composed themselves. Krystian spoke. "Copy and Paste sir, Answer their questions of course but stick to what you wrote to Valaran, nice and simple."

Flynn nodded and began to write his responses.

Flynn now sat alone in his office, with parliament coming to a close today, the governing party members were sent on their way back home to their Islands. Cheers and fireworks could be heard from where he sat. Flynn flinched when a considerably large bang was heard. He had no stomach for war and hopped as things progressed from here it would be easy for for him to lead his people without a conflict coming home to him. He was raised out of his thoughts causing the original train to derail (There were no survivors).

"Sir? Mr. Macleod Sir?" His aid called from her desk in the next room.

"Yes?" Flynn called back, and in a few moments his aid came in brandishing a letter. "Another telegram from a... The Elder of the Tribe of Waterford..." She corrected as she spoke. "Speaking for err Representing the Elder Council of Selkie... I hope I pronounced that right." She sighed handing over the letter.

Flynn took the letter and opened it and read it aloud as he did with the rest, pausing at "However, you are"

Flynn took care to ponder what the Elder really meant with that statement then continued. Once he finished he pondered while looking out into the starry sky and his people celebrated.

"-just one more for today..." Flynn spoke.

"Sir?" The aid replied.

"Oh, Mrs Mc Kracken just one more telegram and we can go home." Flynn corrected and pulled the fountain pen from its holder on his desk and began to write.

Flynn paused and reflected... They were in the middle of the ocean close to the southern pole. How could a nation... He paused again and sat at his desk and turned on his computer. A few moments after the computer had booted up he typed in "Emirate of Tafir" and waited to see what popped up.

After the letter to the expansionist Tafirians was sent he struck upon an idea. An Idea that came to him late last night. I should invite all of these royals to our new country to show that not all royalties are or in our case were like the Queendom of Sahahrani. Flynn thought. He looked over at his fountain pen. It was quite old, It was said that it belonged to the scotsman that lead the original rebellion of Scotland. Flynn knew it wasn't true as they used quiles to write back then not fountain pens. However the idea that was latched to that pen was what caused him to buy it. A pen that he would pass down to the next Prime Minister when he took office in 5 years time.

As he began to hash out his plan to Mr. Douglas and Mr. Marshall returned. They approved the telegram and spoke with him about last nights reports from the military units on station all over their islands. No groups, factions or anything of the like attempted to seize land during the night. Which settled Flynn's mind of the Tafirians attempting to take what they thought was theirs via force.

Flynn spoke about his Idea of inviting those that had acknowledged Robertson Islands as it own independent state so an official "Robertson" gathering. Douglas had been immediately against it while Marshall agreed but was worried about their effects on the population. The countries leader could not be seen as weak to outside parties by bowing to royalty again. It would be of some debate however Flynn's word would be the final say.

As Douglas and Marshall left. Mrs. Mc Kracken waltzed in after the two men left with two more telegrams one from the Federated Republic of Paixpetto and the Holy Empire of Hohenstaufenn-Germany. She then gave Flynn a gentle smile and left the room again. He placed both telegrams to the side for now He needed to get the invites sent out.

I am writing to inform you that we here at the Radcchian Governor's council have debated the issue at our General Council Meeting and that as of December, 02 the Radicchian Government has officially recognized your right to exist and the Sovereign rights of your Government and your people.

Agents in my employment here in Radicchio have alerted me to some possible economic challenges which may beface a small nation such as yours.
Challenges which I helped my own nation to overcome in years past after we were cast to the wind by the failing administration of a far away Monarch.
We of the "old guard" in Radicchio understand the growing pains which your Nation may undergo in this immediate time, as well as some of the challenges concerning certain aspects of self rule in an island environment.
As you well know, weather is of great concern to us in these small Nations afloat, of such concern that I do not feel the large, mainland nations can grasp how disturbing to our infrastructure, finance and economy a storm can be.
Something a simple as a summer Gale or a winter Typhoon can bring about all sorts of social unrest, people talking about going back to "old ways" instead of moving forward. Things like Power Outages, disruptions in water and sewer services, even blocked roads and downed lines of communication can wreak havoc on an infant Nation.
As such, I have taken liberties I must say, and spoken (on my own behalf with concern to your Nation) with certain members of the Governor's Council as well as with my fellow board members at Wexler Industrial.
It was a mutual feeling that we ought to do something to lend a hand should such a situation erupt.
Which is why we here in Radicchio have made the decision to send you a small fleet of Cargo Skiff watercraft, each one equipped with a self contained diesel generator which utilizes 3x W616 Diesel engines producing 315Kw at peak output with a continuous run time of 11 hours. As well as a Wexler Jitty vehicle that has been modified into a llightweight water purification truck with a 750 liter water bowser and a 15 nanometer filtration system that can provide up to 2 million liters of clean, sterile water on demand.
This is a gift from us to you with no expectation of reciprocation. This equipment we view as being a, redundant program for emergency use only, one which we hope you will never use.
However IF a disaster, natural or manmade were to strike, we would rest easier knowing that your people have access to a swift and mobile force providing on demand electricity and clean water.

Please do not allow the Rogue Nation of "Robertson's Islands" to cloud your judgement. They this was no "peaceful" separation. Those barbarians stood up and butchered the Sahahranian Settlers and our local garrison at the RSAFB: Mount Pleasant! They are violent segregationist and they need to be put straight! The Queendom of Sahahrani Government and the Queen Sara IV deny the Robertson Islands to govern themselves for three reasons;

[*] They are much to small and underdeveloped and need to be supported by its mother country not the international community
[*] The population of the Robertson Islands is too small to support itself or create food considering its climate and location (See Fact book)
[*] Lastly its military is much too small to effectively protect itself from foreign parties (Such as yourselves)

Other than these reason they belong to the Queendom since its founding last year after the breakdown and destruction of the Tayleenish / New Mesian Conflict Operation: Black River where international parties intervened and butchered the civilian populations and their armies over this exact type of thing. We wish to hold a referendum to see if the full population of the islands wish to leave the country. Until then the Robertson Island all 779 Island in the group are under the Queens protection not yours. Any approach of Foreign Troops with be met with a denial of entry. If compliance is ignored we will react accordingly. A small suppression force has been sent to pacify all troops on the island until the referendum is held then and only then will we allow and acknowledge that the people of "Democratic Republic of the Robertson Islands" will have the Queendom of Sahahrani and the Queen Sara IV full support in creating a new government and separate country

Please understand we only wish the best for the Robertson Island as it is clearly for all of you.

Forty eight minutes later after the message had been sent. The 1st Royal Marines were given their orders they were to retake the military installations on the islands and pacify troops stationed on the island, probably to be taken alive since over 75% of them were to be said that they were civilians with little to no combat experience led by defected troops from 2nd Queen's Own Rifles, 1st Regiment that was stationed on the East and West Islands.

The 2 ships would be coming in from the West and dropping a regiment (2500) from the 1st Royal Marines to land at Port Stephens before moving into the sound to deploy the rest of its troops to San Carlos and Port San Carlos.

So if you enjoyed what I have wrote I'm going to be making an interest thread in International Incidence to finish off this story. (Since you guys aren't posting back, for exemption of a few) I'm going to fight for the freedom.

I'll post an OOC in international incidences and an IC after I get people to support both sides and we will have a big old brawl.
