I've started the meal officially. I don't mind if characters want to add their own toasts or words at the end of Thull's mini-speech. I figured I'd get us moving with the first course so people aren't frozen and asking when to start eating. I'm also fine with everyone returning to their prior conversations.

Courses are pretty simple. Light stuff, then heavier, then desert. The food is a mixture of various nations' cuisine. For sake of argument, the waitstaff will not serve anything to a guest that's incapable of digesting it (example: they wouldn't serve grains to my nation's species). Have a cultural dish? Describe it!

No donated troops/equipment/etc. I can foresee us having a peacekeeping force used for a peacekeeping mission. I can foresee us setting it up as the UN does, where troops are secondarily assigned to the MSU's mission but remain their nation's property, and the troops are not volunteered until the objective is known. The troops are commanded by that nation's chain of command but function under whatever we establish as a security council. The nation is responsible for all the logistics (manpower and equipment) although the MSU might supply fuel. (just an example)

Why? The MSU has no standing military or peacekeeping force short of voluntary contribution (in short). What is this for?

I already tried to submit something for the Union and was turned down. So I doubt anyone here would accept your offer either.

You're more than welcome to use it if you take part in a peacekeeping mission. We don't keep a standing military.

I don't foresee myself ever donating to a peacekeeping mission with the current doctrine of the MSU. However, just because Cer said "no" doesn't stop others from introducing measures for a standing peacekeeping force.

Oale that makes no sense.

Scenario 1:
There are a thousand troops sitting in a barge parked near the station. They are eating MSU food, consuming MSU air, and training. These troops specialize in ground warfare. Months pass. They aren't used for anything. Financial resources are drained.

Scenario 2:
There are a thousand Urranese troops in Urran. They go about their normal routine. A mission comes up that requires ground forces. Urran pledges this large force to the goal. They are transported by the MSU, conduct their mission under MSU orders, and return home to Urran. Financial expenditures are kept to a minimum.

What we're asking is for a shred of realism regarding the logistics of the matter.

Why an d who would they answer too? .

At least with GESO and the GRF we have a rough outline of regulations and infrastructure in place.. but the GRF is meant for exploration and as a join defense force for our alliance. The MSU is an organization of peace, it doesn't need a standing army, also note the GRF also protects swith and any other member of GESO.

After all, each of our armies is trained by each of our member-nations, and when they are called to a peacekeeping mission, they are already ready.

Nice buzz word. However I never said they'd be stationed at the MSU headquarters, it's many times easier on logistics if an army sets aside a table of organization for future reference in times of combat, instead of simply scrambling to find usable equipment to form an alliance. I never said the MSU pays for it, as we aren't deploying our troops (I refuse to deploy troops anywhere near you two), but we would simply be compiling a list of what units would go where in the event of an operation.

Let's say X division is listed as an MSU unit, X division is under control of it's home nation until called for by the MSU, at which point it is placed under control of the MSU, and only then does it use MSU funds and resources. This method is more stream line then an elective assembly of a home nation deciding what it wants to send.

Not that I care too much at this point, I refuse to send any form of aid in the event that the MSU needs it.
