How do those look guys ?

Excellent :)

how did you make them?

Paint.Net , MS Paint and a SCARY amount of free time.
Oh , and I downloaded a few regional maps and cobbled continents and land together and then edited them into the shape I wanted.

I used to run an alliance, and a region. Not that it matters now.

Yeah those reasons are fairly similar to my own ones (for my map). Nice to know someone thinks the same way :)

Those reasons and because most RP regions use the plot system for claiming land is why I made my own map. (I REALLY dislike the plot system, mainly because most plots are either small or weirdly shaped and because I have no control over my borders at all.)

I treat my plot in my region as a joint part of my nation (as well as my main map). So that both are part of it.

But yeah, I agree with those issues; plots aren't quite flexible enough, unless you increase the scale dramatically. (I has been lobbying hard for a new map system in my local region). Also I like being an island continent.

Continent Nations ftw :) . And whenever I get a plot in a region its automatically a colony of the main continent. And you are right about the scale part too, because for some nation an 80 or 100mil population is really pushing it in regards to what you can realistically do...

And on the subject of flexibility , you have complete control of your climate and your nations terrain too so it makes it even better to be independent.

And history as well.

Well, mine is too small to be called a continent (I don't have 1 billion people yet), but too large to be mere islands. Its kinda like Greenland in that respect.

Internal History and dynamics were a big reason for me doing this too, and I can mix and match whatever cultures and religions I want and not have a problem. Bulgarian , Spanish and Chinese , why not ! (And for the record Im currently Russian , Korean and Serbian with a Mongol minority.)

I got the Russian part, but not the Korean, Mongol or Serb.

I'm mainly Scandinavian/British in my nation, with refugees form various conflicts & immigrants making up the rest.

Also, I would chat more, but I must go to sleep now.... so goodnight and nice work on those maps again :)
