The Eternal Banquet 2 [IC]

Postby Primordial Luxa » Tue May 07, 2013 8:11 pm

Entering Luxan airspace is a simple affair and after your craft is confirmed to be on the guest list you are given the coordinates of the Burning City. Once you enter the country there is an immediately noticeable change both in and outside of your cabin. Your ambassadors’ nostrils fill with the pungent smell of both rapturous perfume and soporific sulfur, giving the nation an immediate sense of artistic industrialism that seem in itself paradoxical. However the more visible changes are outside, for the clouds have changed to an immeasurable black hue which pluses and glows with spectral orange and writhing purple veins that prove harmless but almost synthetic.

It is not a extended flight to the Burning city even though it dwells in the middle of the former United States and it is not long before the city is strangely visible. Your ambassadors can feel their eyes drawn to the monstrous structure out of some mixture of gruesome appeal, hellish horror, and grotesque curiosity. The titanic city is situated in desert encircled by a naturally forming tropical oasis of lush yet weirdly unfamiliar greenery that is surrounded by white, black, and yellow sand for miles on end. Surrounding the cyclopean city and the oasis is a group of seven black monoliths these constructions are coved in strange faintly glowing symbols while the air around them seems to shimmer like a heat saturated cloud. Behind the pulsing monoliths is the Burning city where a large and detailed wall which is surrounds the metropolis, this wall reminds a person of a gnawing skeletal structure as well as conjuring forth the image of a daemoniac Egyptian or Mayan ziggurat.

Before landing the craft needs to make full circle of the charnel city in order to reach the landing zone securely. During this rotation the occupants are present will a full unhallowed view of the mausoleum necropolis’s grandeur. The exotic urban settlement is dotted with small ensanguined rivers and lakes of magma and searing white hot rocks which light up the night sky. The many columned buildings are carven with a mixture amorphously beautiful figures of legend and leering bestial faces that take the form of creatures completely alien in origin. Horns and loathsome thorn like clusters, sprout from the buildings as a sinister homage of ghastly demon and corrupt plant life.

The landing zone is not far from the building itself and the landing is smooth and the passengers don’t even feel there craft touch the ground. After a brief while an exit stairway is brought up to your craft and a set of pink skinned slightly deformed attendants began unloading your bags. As you exit you finally hear this strange country and find the sound to be an aeonless quiet that gives the idea as if the whole land is holding its breath or has just taken its last. Looking out finally to the horizon you see the stars which seem closer than ever before and multihued rather than the dull white and black.

At the bottom of the stairs waits a bald pale women, she is dressed in a flowing black latex gown that seems to pierce her body rather than being tied around it. Her neck is slashed open and a bizarre vice keeps it open allowing you to see the movements of her vocal cords and quiver of her tongue and wears a smile that seems genuine and caring. She speaks with a diabolically young child’s voice that seems much too innocent for a creature so heavily mutilated.

“Greetings esteemed, my name is Elnora Arutidel please follow me”

She takes you and your company off the landing pad and to a shuttle leading to the forbidden city; the craft is a form of rail craft and takes the group swiftly to the cities entrance which is a detailed arch giving the unholy appearance of a gapping maw of a titanic beast of old and walking beneath it would send a shiver down the ambassadors spine. The things misshapen teeth seem to be of ivory carved and cooled icicles which had form of large monstrous canines each longer than a person’s body. At the gate stand a group of four guards who briefly check you guide credentials before letting you through eyeing you momentarily.

The walk to your living arrangements is short and on the way you passmany of the buildings you’ve seen from above as well. Your group also passes by several groups of Luxans who seem to be an exotic yet disturbing people. The building you are staying in is a five story complex much less grotesque than the rest of the buildings and crystal water runs over each window from carefully placed water falls. The entrance is a lobby that branches off into five gourmet restaurants each from a different section of the globe. At the back of the lobby stand a pair of Luxan Immortals.

At the end of the lobby is a trio of elevators and it is here that you greeter bids you goodbye handing each guest a key card and a Luxan identification card. The Ambassadors are split between a pair of rooms as are each nations bodyguards, however all bodyguard rooms are directly opposite the ambassadors room in case of emergency.

The roomsthemselves are exquisite and feature and enormous living room with a guest bath, entertainment center with a bar and piano. As well as a pair of master bedroom featuring a king bed, separate lounge, plush armchairs, flat-screen HD TV, dressing area and large walk-in closet. Your luggage has already been moved to the rooms.

This is compliment by His and Her master bathrooms feature two separate single basin sinks with two separate toilets and bidets, oversized walk-in showers, whirlpool tub. Each room has a dining room, and a separate kitchen with pantry as well as the guest bedroom features two queen beds, a walk-in closet, a walk-in shower, and double sinks including a 1,250-square-foot living room with a grand piano and twin entertainment centers, a dining room capped with a 22-karat gold chandelier and truly spacious bedrooms.

Lithium Lord Vistov shows no facial expression as he steps off of his Plane. The men behind him carry the Merchandise along as he walks toward the the military section of the Banquet. As he walks along, the people around him notice the markings on his arms.Unbeknownst to them is the fact of the origins of the scars.Through a special orientation can you become a Lithium Lord.Becoming one brings emotions to the front and they explode out of the lord, never to be seen again. He ceased to feel any at all.

Upon their arrival, Diana of Stelarus immediately heads off to the Great Horned Keep, being the oldest of her siblings in attendance she was expected to at the very least say hi to the hosts of this event.
The second person with her however was not Carter of Stelarus, her younger brother, but Asherah of Stelarus, her younger sister. Apparently there was a change in plans. Asherah parts ways with her sister once inside the city and heads off to Show Pavilion 4 and scans the faces of the people she sees, hoping in the sea of strange faces to find someone familiar, or perhaps to just pick out and make a mental note of what other countries are present sizing up the technology Luxa has to offer.

Morpheus had arrived using a spiecally outfitted airliner, Vastime well known stealth technology was I corparates in the plane for defensive measures as it was used to tea sport Morpheus globally. He was pleased with the ride here and overall comfortable with the people he was presented with, Not normally his cup of tea but he felt right at home.. Literally. He was lounging in his qauters his name was on his room door for any visitors to greeted him, He would most likely be coming out to get some food very soon though.

A gargantuan octa-rotor dropship with the Mefpanian Coat of Arms approached the landing pad and descended slowly, carefully, wary not to damage the freight aboard - aboard the craft were almost two hundred and fifty tons of finest Mefpanian armour, brought along just for the exhibition that was said to be a part of this diplomatic event.

It comes as no surprise that the pilot, when faced with the possibility of being sentenced to - as the Grand Commissar had put it - 'Eternal Torment', instead opted to land the machine safely after receiving permission from Ground Control. Perhaps it is just useless showing off, but the dropship's rear hatch opened with a hiss as streams of heated gas spat out of several pressure outlets and added a scent of diesel and kerosine to the air.

The Grand Commissar, Wilhelmina von Wagnerberg steps off the craft wearing a regular white trenchcoat and a peaked cap adorned with Mefpan's Coat of Arms in gold, the metallic echo of her footsteps being drowned out by the roaring thunder of what sounds like half a dozen diesel engines working overtime.

She raises a hand to her ear and mutters something rendered inaudible by the sound, although those with the ability to lip-read could probably identify it as something like "We have arrived. Move the cargo out of the dropship - Make sure not to damage anything while you do that."

Upon the notification of some Luxan official, she trailed along with the group of ambassadors, diplomatic visitors and officials and examined her surroundings carefully. From what she'd seen and heard of the Byzanto-European Conflict and especially Luxan involvement there, it seemed only prudent to be wary of these people. In her past, she'd been masking as an Imperial Commissar for the Death Korps of Krieg long enough to acquire some of their peculiarities.
This place reeked of Chaos, as far as Wilhelmina was concerned. Twisted, perverted, corrupted Men lingered everywhere - and where that was not the case, things that no longer were worthy of being called Man did. But for now, she would remain silent. Speaking such concerns loudly - or worse, breaking out into a crusading frenzy to purge these abhumans - had a success chance that did not exceed 0.00000183%, as her friends back in the Bureau of Research and Development had told her when she asked them.
As such, making a fuss was deemed to be a vastly sub-optimal idea. Perhaps she'd get away with fighting some of those heretics of unidentified Chaos allegiance in a Duel or two, perhaps even killing a few of them. By accident, of course.

The only thing she was looking forward to, really, was the exhibits of the other nations that wanted to show off their weaponry. Wilhelmina sighed as she looked at the room assigned to her. A ridiculous show of wealth, a monument to hedonism. She scoffed and settled down for the time being. Someone would alert her of anything interesting.

Back at the landing pad, the pinnacle of Mefpanian last-line defense armour had finally been guided out of the dropship's belly. An AESIR Class Citadel Cruiser had been aboard the craft and the juggernaut lumbered towards the street that would lead into the Burning City itself.
A radio message was sent to Ground Control - a request.
"Sanne Reik of the Death Leopard Armour Division, currently aboard the Zitadellenkreuzer, speaking here; requesting the road to the Burning City to be temporarily cleared of all civilian groundcraft in the area - we're going to have to free up space on the Landing Pad and temporarily park outside the Burning City's walls until we are assigned a proper area to present the pride of our Armour production."

-----The Banquet----

The great horned keep is a massive building covered in marvelous works of Gothic Tudor architecture. Each wall is made of a black obsidian rock that has geometrically befalling designs and patterns covering its surface and causing stress on mind similar to the sensation of staring at a monitor too long. Small pools of white hot magma appeared at the bottom of the steps as mechanical dragon like gargoyles at the top belched forth the substance. The doors to the build are open and inviting as a long and finely crafted silk carpet has been laid out for new arrivals and the only thing even remotely uninviting about the places is a group of four Luxan Immortals standing guard outside the doors.

They nod as your representatives enter the first room, which immensely becomes a sea of sensation and numbness. As you enter your nostrils are filled with the scents of a variety of chemicals; perfume, raw sex, blood, jet fuel and heroin. The first room is an enormously large lounge filled with a myriad of Luxan nobles and citizens each relaxing through violent, forbidden and sensual means. Even through the confusion there seems to be no threat to you ambassadors life and the people there seem more than happy to strike up conversation or to help your group.

----- The Tillinghast Expo----

The technology demonstration is in a wipe open area venue filled with booths and stages where a group of strange and otherworldly showmen attempt to entice people to there spectacle. It conjures up the image of an old time carnival or an atomic age world’s fair. The dark neon clouds above provide a mechanical and ethereal backdrop as sparks and strange colors silhouette the plaza. Each venue is unique and seems to be built of a completely different mind.
One of the stages toward the beginning of the expo is dominated by a large man of obsidian skin in a silver suit. The man is throwing a ball of multicolored light between several devices while displaying several machines made solely of glass and mirrors. Seemingly copying Tesla a banner above him says: “The Great Nyarlythoteps’ Wonders of Electricity”. Two separate booths seem to be in a heated yelling match, these groups are labeled Eden INC. and Fleshmolders and seems to attracted the least human Luxans in the area. The two tables are obviously rivals of some sort and constantly barrage each other with insults (and at one point a fireball). At the center of the plaza is a medium sized quick assembly building which seems to be one of the more well-funded of the group a sign next to it reads: “SystemCorp. Harbingers of Transmogrification”. As well as dozens more.

-----Morpheus’s Room----

It’s quite unexpected when there comes a swift knock at Morpheus’s door and upon opening it he would find 3rd Princess Morgane. She was dressed, in her normal black rock, pyre shard garments and the air around her was a blaze with miniature sparks and embers. She quickly pushed her way into Morpheus’s chest while closing his door behind her, before helping him make proper use of his bed.

-----Ninjaron Expo----

As the Ninjaronians set up their own expo a group of pink skinned deformed humanoids come by to offer them assistance with there display and construction. A group of twenty of these hunched creatures appears almost eager to help and while seemingly in pain give no indication of it. With them they bring a large amount of supplies to help the expo, display cases, electronic information packets, stands and booth and even a medium size stage.

As the group sets up they begin to draw the eyes of several Luxans who seem intrigued by the weapons being displayed and presented.

-----The Mefpan Party----

"Sanne Reik of the Death Leopard Armour Division, don't enter via the main road it wont support your vehicle. Sending you the location of a side entrance that will be cleared for you. Guides will be there there to point your vehicle towards your nations expo."

After some time passed Morpheus had fallen asleep in the comfortable bed along with Morgana, He felt the mid day sun hit his face though the window he yawned his chest rising feel the small weight on it. He glanced down to see the woman that rested on his chest he layed their a moment taking in her features he opened his mouth to speak thinking if how to address her.

"Morning Princess."

Wilhelmina pondered the things she could do in this city - there was the Arena, true enough. A few exhibits from other visitors, some banquet with food she didn't quite trust, et cetera et cetera. But hadn't there been some sort of sale regarding supposedly ancient, masterfully crafted weapons?
She checked the list of attendees again - and indeed, there was the Ninjaron Military Showcase in Pavillon One. Sure, sure, she could check that out. Acquire something decent and then join the Arena fights. That sounded like a good enough idea to her, and so she had set her mind on that task.

Within a few minutes, she had made her way to Pavillon One and tried to force her way through the assembled crowd of Luxans that seemed so intrigued by the weaponry sold there.

"Out of my way, move it! Some people here are actually interested in buying something!", her voice boomed through the mass of people assembled here. She would have a new weapon.

"Affirmative, we'll be taking the alternative route", Sanne Reik spoke into her radio and smiled. No objections and it sounded like they'd get a wide-open ground to make the best of it. Though, the Grand Commissar was probably worried about the safety of the Burning City - as well as every other location in this plane of reality save for the inside of her own trenchcoat, perhaps.

She tapped the radio operator on the shoulder. "Have we fixed the problem with the external speakers yet?", she asks.

The radio operator nods in return. "Jawohl, Fräulein Reik. They're operational now. I take it you-" "-want you to play some music while we're on the way to our position, yes. You know which track to play."

"Jawohl, Fräulein Reik", came the answer. A few button presses later, an instrumental version of the Panzerlied blared through the massive vehicle's external speakers - and it was actually possible to hear it once the tank moved and the engine didn't have to get several hundred tons of steel rolling.

"Now listen up, everyone! Once we arrive at our expo grounds, we're going to put up everything! Tents, benches, tables, the charcoal grill and the drinks - once we're there, moving the tank won't be necessary so we'll operate with a skeleton crew, the rest of us tending to visitors and guests. Don't disappoint me here or I'll make sure you're degraded until you're barely even allowed to sit aboard a Bait! Understood?!"

Almost two dozen female voices echoed through the tank with a resouding "Jawohl!" - and the massive Kreuzer turned to follow the path towards the secondary gate.

A young girl, no older than sixteen, wanders into the banquet, late, unnoticed as she come to the event. Her hoodie is nearly as dark as her ashen grey skin, which holds neon, glowing red tattoos across its surface. Spinning slightly, she took in her surroundings, examining everything with a placid innocence. She can feel eyes on her, she did not belong there to many that saw her. But she was more comfortable than she had been in a very long time. The revelry was not new to her nor was it displeasing. She could feel the erosion of dignity in the air... It made her smile. She had spent so much of her time alone that she came expecting to feel overwhelmed, yet she could not be more understanding of this world. She wondered how long she would spend at this banquet, partaking in nothing but a voyeuristic analysis. She watched people writhe in their pleasures, both beautiful and obscene, and took in the scents. She watched the bounties of sin then looked up, staring into the crowd knowing her fare could hear her quietest whisper through her origin:

"Dreadlord... I have come to speak to you."

The girl then waited, motionless, in the crowd. Waited for her message to reach his ears.

-----Morpheus’s Room ----

Morgane’s eyes blink awake with a restlessness that shows she’s not use to sleeping or relaxation. She stretches briefly and gives a moaning yawn, “And yourself” she says in a slightly drowsy voice. The princess elegantly unfurls herself from the comfort of the artesian bed with well-practiced motion and starkly strolls across the suite to the living room where her clothes lay as a pile of black soot and ash.

She stood with her back to Morpheus and as she inserted a foot deftly into the black dust, it began to crawl up her body and harden into the dress like carapace most people would be familiar with. It was now that one could see that the exotic magma dress was a fine weave of an set of eldritch nanites. “So” she said with a playful tone addressing the Deathplane leader “Enjoying the festivities.”

-----The Child with No Name ----

Ask and you shall receive.
There’s a sudden noise as a droplet of black tar like liquid suddenly hits the unspoiled white ground in front of the child the liquid hisses and bubbles before another drop follows the first. The Dreadlord hovers in the air in front of the child, his bare feet covered in the strange substance he descends after hovering for a brief second. As he gazes at the child he tilts his head as though examining her with an otherworldly sense and as if listening to a strange alien voice.

He lands a meter in front of her he is dressed in an artisanal crafted dark black leather coat with a fur lining, a white shirt, and black tie that compliments his form as he is easily seven feet tall and off a muscular build.
His skin is of an alabaster white and appears sickly transparent as a spiders web of bluish black veins criss cross its surface. This sickness is not shared by his form and demeanor as he seems to be full of profane almost fulsome life. His hands are strangely elongated with the skin on the back of his hands seems cracked like porcelain and his nails are beetle wings.

His eyes have overly large pupils and they lack any form of iris or sclera simply being soul pieces black orbs, while a red mask covers its edges. Those who look into them see something reflective of their own personal experience, they see their most perverse and sadistic dreams brought to life in their full unholy glory and they understand that this is a man who could make them come true.

His hair is sleekly combed back and is a black color that seems to be washed in a sort of non-cosmetic crimson compound giving it the image of being interlaced with red wine or blood. Atop his head there is a strange an unnatural crown of light and energy playing out as a set of red and black sparks dance in a cosmic pattern that tugs at a some primordial chord in those who look at it. It inspires a sense of familiarity and any who look upon it feel as though it belonged to someone they have always worshipped and adored or perhaps did in a different lifetime.

The girl smiles slightly, not afraid, but respectful. She does not bow, but merely closes her two highest eyes of the four, the other two closing halfway as she nods her head for a moment, before returning his gaze. Blood continues to trickle from her nose and ears, but she does not mind. She would present herself in no other way. His presence to her was almost comforting, in a strange way, and her gaze, though lacking pupils or any form of recognition, seemed to become less distant. After a moment of silence as he observed him slowly, she spoke once again, quietly. Had anyone else attempted to listen, they would not be able to hear over the din of the revelry.

"It's good to see you. We haven't met before now. May I tell you a story?"

Her voice was soft, and kind, but cold as the grave. She attempted in no way to present herself as powerful, nor hid. She had never been a part of a society, and therefore did not oblige anyone a social structure of herself. She was, in all simplicity, impossible to read, for she did not know even how she was herself. She knew her task, and that was all.

Morpheus grinned widely at her, He is enjoying the festival quite a bit so far as he got out of bed striding towards his own pair of black jeans. He walked over to her placing his hand on her waist "Im having a wonderful time, Yourself?" He asked lowly his neck shifting down to look at her. A question popped into his head "Does anyone know your here?." He asked.

-----Morpheus’s Room ----

She smiled, “my father works too hard if I say so myself. The money used on this room alone could feed a family of ten for over a decade, and the events… he put so much money into each one.” She shrugs slightly leaving his embrace to wander toward the living room with a slight swagger to her steps, giving a small laugh on the way. “My parents, Victoria and Ichabod”

-----The Child with No Name ----

The Dreadlord raised an eyebrow at the strange girls appearance and even stranger question. She reminded him of Trigon or at least one of his daughters.
“Yes.” He replied flatly giving the obvious indication not to waste his time.

If the girl noticed his tone, she gave it no thought. She smiled gently and sat on the floor crosslegged, surrounded by people in the throws of sin. She smiled up at him, waiting for him to join her. She knew his status, and yet this was not a challenge of his power, nor an attempt to degrade him. She simply was, containing nothing but a sense of gentle patience.

Morpheus pondered this for a second, It was interesting the political structure of Luxa one he could arguably say confused him to a extent. He understood over time but slipping on a grayish T-shirt he walked towards the living room as well curios to see what she was planning.

"Forgive me if I offend but.. In my culture people don't typically have sex for pleasure with random people, So any explanation on why you.. Gave me such a honor." He said carefully falling onto a couch. Morpheus was known for many things one of them being his laid back style of work effective strangely though. "And trust me.. I'm not complaining." He said slyly.

Beep-beep; beep-beep; beep-beep; beep-beep; beep-beep...!

Wilhelmina froze in the middle of her attempts at breaking through the Luxan lines - consumer lines, that is. A number of satellites were orbiting the planet - set to detect off-world transmissions and alert her. Her vox-caster was beeping furiously, the rythm indicating the set code for messages originating from a source she had assumed she would never see again after that incident with the unstable Warp Storm, but had prepared for nonetheless.

Usually, the source would have worried her greatly, considering that there was a good chance she'd be hunted down as a heretic or somesuch, mostly for disguising herself as a Commissar.

On the other hand, she supposed that they wouldn't be approving of the Luxans either - and that opened up a whole pallette of new and amazing possibilities. Reconciliation, perhaps? For all she knew, her old loyalties had been all but destroyed - and she remembered that she had indeed considered to pledge her loyalty to them when she had first encountered them.

Even if there was no longer the time for such an action - they could be valuable allies. Couldn't they? She remembered what some of them were capable of doing and smirked; their presence would improve the odds of getting out of here intact massively. Perhaps there was a chance to arrange an alliance...a cooperative purge...exterminatus, even!

The thought of it made her ecstatic. There was no reason to waste any more time.

Wilhelmina spun around, her trenchcoat fluttering in the air. A Luxan citizen stood before her, almost her size. With the swipe of her cybernetic left arm, she sent the poor passers-by flying out of her way as she rushed away from the Show Pavillon and headed directly for the Landing Pad to greet the potential newcomers.

But what would they want? All the satellites could discern was the origin...still, it was time to meet them again, the Imperium of Man.

In the meantime, the group of Death Leopard girls had arrived on the fair grounds assigned to them. It had taken a lot of care and slow maneuvering, even slower than the AESIR was already capable of - and they were sure they still had managed to nick a house corner somewhere, if the dust on its left flank was any indication.

Nevermind that. A set of tables and benches were placed in a circle around the Zitadellenkreuzer and all sorts of drinks and meals were offered at ridiculously low prices - this was a publicity event as much as it was an attempt at showing off Mefpan's power.

As such, music blared out of the tank's speakers as the AESIR's crew tended to various guests. Occasionally, the ground shook and everyone nearby was temporarily deafened as the gunner, still inside the tank, fired off a blank shell.

Sanne was happy with the way things were progressing right now - apparently there was another nation here showing off their "heavy" tank. She contemplated to go there and laugh at them, but reconsidered for the time being. She was needed here - if only because all semblance of order could break down the moment yet another bratwurst caught fire on a grill (which, thankfully, remained a rare incident for now).

-----Morpheus’s Room ----

She smiles while dancing her way over to the in room bar and sifting through the many bottles there looking for something to suit her taste. She finally settles on one of Luxan origin and pours herself a glass of the substance which smells more like jet fuel than alcohol. She gives him a blank stare briefly before speaking, “Eh, it’s just one of those cultural differences. I was just sent here to check up on you, got horny and well… you don’t look half bad so I decided to kill two birds with one stone.”

-----The Child with No Name ----

The Dreadlord raises an eyebrow at her sitting in the middle of the crowd before frowning comically at the action. It took him less than a second to scour her mind and find out the purpose behind the foolish gesture.
He gave a quiet chuckle “Ah…No”
With unnatural reflexes borne of his heritage he seizes the girl’s throat pulling her to her feet and holding her a few feet off the ground to make eye contact with her gazing through her and seeing her entire history in a blink of his eldritch eyes.
“You have ten seconds to gain my attention, and you will do it standing or kneeing.” He says in a voice with enough menace to move a mountain and containing enough threat to scare even a creature like her.
He releases her letting her fall his eyes growing bored the second he does.

Morpheus took a seat as she spoke, He tried to read her but he expression made it hard to do such a task. His eye brows contracted slightly after she spoke, from what she was saying it sounded like meaningless sex which was something he wasn't fond of.

"So it was meaningless sex?" He asked with slight frustration in his voice.

She smiled amusingly "Depends on what your definition of meaningless is. Things only have as much meaning as you give them, nothing starts with predetermined meaning. Heck the fact that sex is a key part of our race means theirs no such thing a meaningless sex."

He raised a eyebrow, This was better "Then lets share of moment of conversation." He said relaxing into a seat. "Sex provides pleasure, But it can also be more then just a physical link for two people." He said hinting towards affection. "In my nation sex is done for pleasure yes but also for people to show affection towards one another."

She smiles walking behind where he's sitting and laying a hand on his shoulder. "Yes affection played a part but remember their are many types of affection. Besides affection is just one of a million emotion in the spectrum, its important to remember that and not to place to much emphasis on one emotion rather to better to experience all of them all the time to truly experience life." She says while inching her hands down his body.

She sudden redacts moving toward the door with a playful grace. "Any way don't get to philosophic on me you have a city built for you so come on let's explore."

En Route to the Burning City

Flying with the sun at their backs dozens of Imperial transports flew towards the dark city that was slowly growing bigger. Lord Inquisitor Harken slowly surveyed the damned looking metropolis. He keyed a Vox to his ship in orbit on a secured line.

Code: Select all
++ Purifying Flame this is Harken, over++
++My Lord this is the Purifying Flame, what do you require?++

++Relay this message to Galvin IV. City terrain is almost unassailable barring the east side. East side looked to by similar to a marsh, Heavy Armor will not be effective. Break.++
++Assessment is as follows, 3 Heavy Siege Regiments, 2 Drop troop Regiments, one Astartes Millennial, and possible Titan support. Estimated time for operation would be 3 to 6 years if reports are correct. Break.++
++Alert necessary forces and have them gather in the Galivin system in event violence breaks out, over++

++My Lord your message shall be carried, anything else you desire?++

++ Negative, Harken out.++

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

As the transports prepared to descend escorts broke off and surged forward to visually inspect the landing zone. Once the signal was given they broke off and the Imperial Transports began to land. In addition to the original delegation Harken had brought a sizable retinue, Storm troopers, savants, assassins, diplomats, scientists, and of course Astartes. The Imperium was a grand organization and thus he believed any diplomat of his status should display a grand entrance.

Duran and Orion were the first ones on the ground as they would be familiar faces to the Luxan diplomats. They looked around as Imperial troops formed up in parade ranks preparing a mass salute to the Lord Inquisitor. Duran and Orion both awaited the approach of the Luxan delegation struggling to think of a way to excuse Harken's entrance.
