The Beastling States of Crystal Spires
7:00AM Mystrian Central Standard Time
The warm fog had hardly begun to lift in the early morning on Lake Azohuorah. The word meant "Blue Starsea" in the ancient tongue, which made it rather fitting as the lake seemed to always reflect the blue skies and was deep and still through most of the day. How he loved to spend his time when he was home going to the water's edge and wading, smelling the cool mist that rose from the surface. He would on occasion go fishing, finding himself usually unlucky and returning home after a good rest in his small boat. Sleep was something he rarely got as he spent all his days and nights in the cold empty cloisters in the High Council. However it was times like these that he would spend lazily in his home of Merlon among his family and at peace. The peace however was short lived as he knew that a politician's work was never done, and a Knight Templar's life's ambition was to work until he was cold, dead, and cast to sea with passage to the sacred realm. This didn't seem to bother him, as a devout Forntian, he was happy at the hopes that he would spend his whole life devoted to public service.
This however meant that even this time at home was merely because it was doctor's orders, and he was expected to take his time and "rest" which to this politician it meant "No rigorous activity" not what the doctor really meant which was to not work. Preposterous was the very thought in the storkii's mind as he ruminated on the idea of not working merely because of health! No, this merely meant that he needed to work specifically on diplomatic relations from home, which meant he would invite his comrades and strike up alliances and deals from his home and prepare for his return to the High Council as soon as possible. This was the way that Maven Auryn, the High Chancellor of Crystal Spires thought, and it was important to him to make sure that he never let up, never allow himself to fall to apathy and exhaustion. No, as the person to lead his nation, he needed to be ahead of every motion in the swerving rifts and tides of change. And as he waded upon Azohuorah he could feel the current shift with a smile.
Dawn... he thought as he felt the mist clear up hailing the dawning sun. "A new day is breaking."
He stepped out of the water and walked to his home as he rolled his trousers down and entered his home preparing letters on his writing desk, as he felt gentle arms wrap around him from behind.
"Mevɛn, l'kontru? Lɔi sɑjk nɑ?" the woman said in a gentle voice from behind him. Her long hair fell below her waist starting from a white color and becoming a deep pink at the ends. Her eyes were a deep violet color gently looking at Maven with concern as the skin from her hand, with the tender touch of a flower petal, brushed across his cheek.
"'kontrujar, kɑt͡su ndu ɑzohuorɑɑ t͡so glɑ dven."He said gently to the lady as she leaned her head on his wings and looked at his desk.
" Glɑ dven t͡so d'vorgen?" She said as she pointed at the letters with a rather cross look on her face. She would not be lied to.
"ɛɛh...hɛfk sɛj, hɑrt scrɑ vorgen, t͡so lejanu kɑmmerɑɑd ran tɑnɑɑ d'ɲoru." He said with an embarrassed look and she then looked delighted.
"Maj sɛj ɛh? Dɑn torno sibɑl!" She said as she went to the kitchen and pulled out confectioner's sugar and began to fluff and make frosted sweet cakes.
He wrote a letter to Lykosia, proposing a meeting for tea with young Regal Charmer, wishing to help make him feel welcome in the brutal world of politics, he wrote Snöhof Vildvindsdottir asking if she could come alone to visit her sick friend, he asked for young Mystria to give her a proper welcome, and wrote Bentus Arcadius asking for an important meeting all to be discussed in Maven's home in Merlon over a spot of tea. Nothing made Maven feel more at ease than to have a good bit of tea to soothe the unease in his mind.
I can't be weak, I can't show even a moment of weakness, for wolves linger on the corner of every false smile, and I must be ever vigilant choosing my comrades wisely. he thought as he sent the letters out.
