Sheila Atkinson, entrant from Eeri
WDFX-TV 36 Mabinogi "WOLF Broadcasting" has been accepted into the WHFBU (World Hit Festival Broadcasting Union) as the broadcaster from the country of Eeri. "Hitch and Go", an english-language country/rock song by Sheila Atkinson will be their first entry.
Sheila Atkinson was born in the Arkansas territory of what is South Eeri (occupied presently by Ganos Lao) and grew up there for most of her life. After her birth mother died it was just her and her father who worked quite a bit in the mills and oil rigs around the country. Sheila discovered music as a small child during a Kindergarden play where she learned to play the Recorder. Initially thinking she was destined for flute playing she began taking lessons for flute. One day while waiting for her teacher she hung around the music store looking at the instruments. Picking up a bass she discovered a love for its sound and the strings. From that day on, she stuck with her bass playing and it's payed off in spades.
After moving to Eeri as a teenager she began to experiment as a songwriter, as a means of coping with the stress of poverty; leaving her friends and other family behind. While her father struggled to pay bills, she struggled to write notes and lyrics. She penned her first song after a history lesson in high school titled "Hitch and Go" as a tribute to the Pioneers who came from far away to settle in Eeri.
A skilled bass player and talented musician for her age, she's a girl who loves the music and loves writing lyrics to the things she's learned and experienced in life. While not currently published, Sheila's talents have hardly gone unnoticed. She's played a number of small gigs through out Eeri, mostly during Church and the county fair in her home of Eeri, but also back in her roots in Southern Eeri. Sheila hopes the World Hit Festival will be her key into getting a record deal or at least more attention to her music. She's very excited.
Will Eeri be successful enough on its début?
