Montego grinned. "Good, good," he said gleefully. He reached into his inner breast pocket and took out an e-reader, which he handed over to Roseblood. "There is a certain organization which has managed to become significant enough to appear on my radar. It is called the 'Red Hand'. Because Rome has never really bothered with this group up until these past few weeks, we have little intelligence on them. The goals of the organization are vague to us at best, and the only ranking member those dimwits over at the IISA* managed to get their hands on, escaped without revealing anything." Montego took a small pause to fret over the apparant incompetence of the IISA, after which he continued his story. "We do already know certain things, however. The core members of the organization revere their leaders as if they were gods. In a sense, it's almost a clergy. [...] The organization itself seems to be gaining more and more support in Europe, mostly in Germany. Its supporters are typically low-income, anti-Roman civilians. More details, such as how they fund themselves, can be found on the e-reader." Montego paused to allow Roseblood to process the information. "Though it is probably nothing, I still want to know more about this organization, even if it is just out of curiosity. And if they turn out to be a threat, then we'll have them swiftly dealt with." Montego stood up. "Because this is a level four operation, I'm going to give you full freedom as to how you're going to handle it. All of the inquisition's resources and members are at your disposal. You are free to pick your own partners, or go in alone. I'm eager to see whether you're as good at leading an operation as you are at fighting."

Oh yes, and Professor Iam Boring seems to continue doing well in his relationship with Mika. I strongly suspect there's wedding bells in their future." Mary said filling him in on the important things she remembered.
Prof. Iam Boring was Zeta's disguise while he was on Earth with Mika. One that was made known to Vlad and Mary, privately.

In Rome, Montego did not say anything to Roseblood. He simply grinned, turned around, and walked away. Roseblood, who had been a pupil of Montego for a long time now, would immediately know what was going through Montego's mind without him saying even a single word. The lord high inquisitor approved of Roseblood's immediate course of action, and felt enjoyment in the fact that his numerous trainings with Roseblood seemed to have yielded a positive result. Of course, these were but first impressions. The mission was yet to truly commence, and Roseblood was yet to complete it.
The inquisitorial communications operator immediately linked Roseblood through to one of his colleagues over at the intelligence department, who replied: "A jewelry store was robbed three days ago by three masked figures. At least one of them had used some sort of superpower or device to crack open the safe. The three of them got in and out within mere minutes and left with several tens of thousands of German Pounds in stolen necklaces, rings, silver and golden bars, gemstones, and diamonds. That is all from what I can tell from glancing over the report. I'll upload the entire report as well as all security camera footage to your communicator." Within an instant all of the files were uploaded, and shortly after, Harold Payne contacted Roseblood. "What can I do for you, Cain?" he asked. Unlike with most people, he used a much more friendly tone when speaking to Cain, who he had slowly begun to consider to be his battle brother and friend.

Harold Payne smirked at Cain's words as he wiped blood from his bayonet with the clothes of the USNA spy he had just tracked down and killed after torturing every bit of information he could get out of him. Payne sat down, seemingly in the mood for a little chat. "I've done quite some missions in Germany in the past, so my German is excellent. About my morals... well... you know I completely disregard those while on the job, lest they drive me to drink." Payne smiled at his own remark. "I'm getting the feeling you're eager to get me on board of some venture, Cain. What are you planning?"
