Milus watched as Fillipo and Dugal exchanged a few words. He saw Dugal send a blast of soul energy at Fillipo with his sword and witnessed the latter dodge with much ease. It seemed that the two of them were evenly matched. It even seemed that pheraps Dugal was in fact no match for this warrior. However, Milus did not really have any way of knowing that. None beyond the always useful method of observation. Thus, he continued to observe.

However, while he had realized that the room was enveloped in blackened soul energy and did not mind, soon enough he noticed that the bridge itself was being covered with black, eye-spawning soul energy. Obviously, it would not be any helpful to make physical contact with whatever that thing was, or so Milus thought. For this reason he moved away from where the black energy seemed to be crawling, despite it closing in on them rapidly.

He then heard the offer that Fillipo made to Dugal. Obviously, Dugal wasn't really going to surrender, now, was he? Even when he heard Dugal's words, Milus didn't think that Dugal really meant that he was about to surrender. Instead, he thought that Dugal was just trying to get close to Fillipo for a swift kill. However, things could go awry and Dugal might need some assistance, so Milus began concentrating a great ammount of kinetic energy, something Fillipo would not be able to see with his thousand eyes. He knew his orders well, but that didn't matter. Snowflake would probably know if Milus did anything to endanger Dugal, and he did not really want Dugal to die. Not yet, at least. He wondered when he would want such a thing, but shook that thought off and continued concentrating, reaching out with a harmless, nearly undetectable wave of kinetic energy to get a feel of the things around him. He often found that while concentrating, this method was a good one to continue to concentrate and still be prevented from any preemptive attacks.

However, Dugal's sudden motions after kneeling and his subsequent shout at Milus broke his concentration and, opposed to what he would have wanted, which was the cancelation of his power, sent a wave of highly concentrated kinetic energy that would surely harm Dugal. Milus did not want that, and so used the power of his mind to nullify the blast. However, the strain of nullifying such a great blast in such a short ammount of time (Nigh instantly, in fact) caused him to kneel, holding his head with one hand, as he now helpessly watched, unable to assist Dugal anymore. Had he unwillingly accomplished his mission?

Fillipo squinted his eyes with glee as he watched Milus fail in aiding Dugal. His mouth curled into a menacing grin. In an instant, he grabbed the kneeling Dugal's head with his right hand. A blast of pure corrupted soul energy went right through the hero's head, without a doubt leaving traces of the corrupting Neostigma within both his body as well as his very soul. Fillipo chuckled lightly as he released Dugal and took a step backwards. If his attack had worked, Dugal would soon start to have his mind invaded by Fillipo's mindcontrolling powers. "How are you feeling, Dugal?" the corruptor asked eerily and strangely enthusiastically.

Montego grinned. "Good, good," he said gleefully. He reached into his inner breast pocket and took out an e-reader, which he handed over to Roseblood. "There is a certain organization which has managed to become significant enough to appear on my radar. It is called the 'Red Hand'. Because Rome has never really bothered with this group up until these past few weeks, we have little intelligence on them. The goals of the organization are vague to us at best, and the only ranking member those dimwits over at the IISA* managed to get their hands on, escaped without revealing anything." Montego took a small pause to fret over the apparant incompetence of the IISA, after which he continued his story. "We do already know certain things, however. The core members of the organization revere their leaders as if they were gods. In a sense, it's almost a clergy. [...] The organization itself seems to be gaining more and more support in Europe, mostly in Germany. Its supporters are typically low-income, anti-Roman civilians. More details, such as how they fund themselves, can be found on the e-reader." Montego paused to allow Roseblood to process the information. "Though it is probably nothing, I still want to know more about this organization, even if it is just out of curiosity. And if they turn out to be a threat, then we'll have them swiftly dealt with." Montego stood up. "Because this is a level four operation, I'm going to give you full freedom as to how you're going to handle it. All of the inquisition's resources and members are at your disposal. You are free to pick your own partners, or go in alone. I'm eager to see whether you're as good at leading an operation as you are at fighting."

Cain tensed slightly at the mention of The Red Hand, remembering David mentioning them, though it wasn't likely he was still within their ranks. Still the chance was large enough. "If I were to have a contact in this organization, would I be approved?" Not waiting for a reply, Cain tapped his ear, activating his earpiece. "Get me Harold Payne, and while you're at it, give me the details of the latest robbery in Frankfurt." He stared at Montego, almost waiting for a glance of approval. There ought be no question if Cain was ready for this.

The Labyrinth
Dugal saw with horror as Milus somehow hurt himself. He fell to his knees, in pain. Dugal saw that Milus would be no help.He looked at Fillipo just in time to see him place his hand on his head. Dugal blinked in pain as a blast of Neostigma rushed through him. Dugal had never felt the effects before, as his father had. He felt darkness travel down his body, corrupting him. His soul, normally filled with the light of Matthew, became filled with the darkness. Dugal felt his mind wrestle to fight the overwhelming influence of the disease. But it was like fighting against himself. Melody called out reminding him of his cause.. At once, he could feel his mind rise against the disease. He had control of himself. But Dugal could still feel the Neostigma within him, laying and trying to take control. Dugal felt his power increase slightly, to his pleasure and annoyance. He grabbed his sword.

"I feel.... alive Fillipo."

Dugal righted the sword, as it became wreathed in Black Soul Flame. The White Flame was independent of the dark slightly-Neostigma powered soul energy. Dugal felt Max's soul scream as the Neostigma began to infect him. Dugal was able to keep the Neostigma from affecting Max's soul but it still lay a seed within his sword, threatening to take Max if Dugal fell.

Dugal spun around blasting a ball of the new more powerful Black Soul Flame at Fillipo. At the same time, he created a ring of flame around them both, trapping them in a very small area of the bridge.

Snowflake screamed out as Dugal fell to Fillipo. Her longest ally had, once again, fallen to the effects of the opposing side. A tear rolled down her cheek, as she now knew that whatever happened, one of them would end up dead. Her anger and sadness began to well up inside of her, and she instantly saw her target; Fillipo. Summoning all of her energy, she launched fireball after fireball at him, and in quite quick succession.

Melody saw her mother trying, in vain, to attack the man who had just claimed Dugal's mind. She tried a different tactic to try and get Dugal back. "Dugal, listen to me. Look at you, just look. Would Lucas be proud of you now? What about Elena? Would she want you to turn into something you're not? Fight it Dugal, for god's sakes fight it!" Although she doubted it would work, she had seen incredible things, and the mental strength he had was certainly one of them. For now, they could just watch.

With Vlad

He was closing in on the mastermind of Hiro's Assassination. After he had conquered Russia, his spies had found out that the Chinese were behind it. And soon another front opened up in the war. They didn't stand a chance of course, in a four month campaign nearly all of China fell before his more powerful army. Currently the Prime Minister was holed up in his office. He was finally going to get revenge.

"Sir, we're getting close to the drop off point." he was told, Vlad nodded.

"Right looks like I should get ready." he said as he stepped up to the Armory, inside was a suit that few would recognize, but those who did would get flashbacks to when the Dread King walked the Earth. Mika had said that with the Beast destroyed that she had to go back to the older model. She said that it was alright though since she upgraded the hardware and software, making it as powerful, if not more-so then his own suit.

"Thank you auntie..." he muttered as he suited up.

"We're over the drop point! We're getting killed by the AA Sites!" the pilot shouted as the transport was being rocked by the Chinese Artillery.

"Open the hatch! Let's go!" Vlad ordered the Hunter-Killers and Death Dealers as he jumped from the plane, the buildings growing ever bigger, the wind rushing past him in a hurry.

"Remember Vlad, I made some augmentations to the armor itself to accommodate your...unique circumstances. " he remembered his aunt saying, and he smiled. Welling up with rage he felt his body undergoing a transformation of demonic proportions. His helmet detected this and opened up two holes to let the horns through, tiny ink jets on the edges of the holes painting them black for camouflage. His back opened up and the same process was repeated for his wings. Looking down he broke through the building, his demonic visage scaring the soldiers who surrounded the Prime Minister. Outside the sounds of his troops killing their enemies rang out.

"Looks like I win." he chuckled as he lit the room ablaze, the screams of pain and horror made him smile in glee. Stepping out into the lobby he looked around and smirked.

"As of right now, I rule China!" he announced to cheers from his soldiers.

Two Days Later

Vlad walked into his palace and sighed, all he wanted to do was shower, and sleep with his wife. He smiled at the thought of his pregnant lover, she was having craving and was constantly sick. And he wouldn't have it any other way.

"Mary! I'm home!"

Mary was beginning to show.

Mr. Whiskers bounded over to Vlad like a tame house cat, Mary following along behind, one hand on her growing belly.

"Vlad, dear, so wonderful to have you home. Did you remember to get me all of China?" She asked, making a joke.

"And they call me the great conqueror, if they only knew it was my wife who sent me out to invade places." she shook his head as he pet the giant cat and kissed his empress.

"How have you been? How is Harper? Is she training like I told her to?" Vlad asked as he sat down with Mary, tired from all the fighting he had to do.

"Yes, doing everything you wanted. Meanwhile I can't even so much as look at food without getting sick. However I'm half-way through a baby blanket. I sent someone out to fetch me more yarn. I'm making a classic japanese style dragon in red on a black background. I just don't know if I should have it breath fire, lightning, or nothing at all.

Oh yes, and Professor Iam Boring seems to continue doing well in his relationship with Mika. I strongly suspect there's wedding bells in their future." Mary said filling him in on the important things she rememebered.

Prof. Iam Boring was Zeta's disguise while he was on Earth with Mika. One that was made known to Vlad and Mary, privately.

Vlad nodded, satisfied at the news that Harper was taking her training seriously. Even if she was a rebellious girl, she knew not to fuck with him.

"Make it breath fire, go with the classic." he smiled as he snapped his finger, a small flame appearing. He was gaining more and more control of his fire, soon he would be able to control it with just his thoughts.

"I still can't believe that he actually took that identity. Iam Boring? Seriously..." he started to laugh lightly, shaking his head in mirth.

"So, any news on my sister?" he spat, he couldn't believe what she pulled, at least he got the dream machine before she pulled the mutiny. Their mother had been devastated when she found out.

Fillipo smirked with glee as he saw Dugal's soul flames become corrupted by the Neostigma. The fallen Roman paladin proceeded to unnaturally slide around within the area Dugal had closed off with his flames, dodging the latter's burst of black soul energy as well as Snowflake's fiery comets. But Fillipo did not attack. Instead, he just stared Dugal right in his eyes, observing the effects of his own corrupting powers. "I must say I am surprised," he said wickedly but with a hint of admiration. "Everyone else I ever corrupted almost instantly lost their minds to me. You must have quite an impressive resolve. How could I ever have expected less from a Shepherd?" Fillipo grinned as he concentrated on the Neostigma which had penetrated Dugal's body and mind. "Lower your weapon and accept me, Dugal. Accept my will. Join me!" he whispered into his head.

All the way back next to the ladies Booth, the two rogue inquisitors watched the battle unfold together with Bismarck. They had put several staves around them and the Booth ladies, which were artifacts Bismarck had enchanted with his purifying flames a long time ago, allowing him to share his powers with his pupils, though to a very limited degree: even though the staves were strong enough to prevent Fillipo's eyes-covered and corrupted black goo from overwhelming the heroes for the time being, they held far too little power to purify Dugal, let alone Fillipo.

When the latter referred to Dugal as a 'Shephard', Bismarck squinted his eyes. Fillipo had obviously retained his extensive knowledge of the Apostle's Wills, despite having been corrupted. Before Fillipo's unexplainable disappearance around the time Bismarck's soul was purged from his body fourteen years ago, the two had been life-long friends and allies, who trusted eachother with the most sensitive and personal of information. Needless to say, being the host of the Will of Peter, Bismarck's knowledge of the Apostle's Wills was quite extensive, and he had on numerous occasions discussed the nature of the mythical entities with Fillipo. Now that the latter had become an enemy of the heroes, this past sharing of information seemed to possibly have made things much harder for Dugal, as he was now fighting an opponent who was fully aware of Dugal's exact powers and capabilities.

In Rome, Montego did not say anything to Roseblood. He simply grinned, turned around, and walked away. Roseblood, who had been a pupil of Montego for a long time now, would immediately know what was going through Montego's mind without him saying even a single word. The lord high inquisitor approved of Roseblood's immediate course of action, and felt enjoyment in the fact that his numerous trainings with Roseblood seemed to have yielded a positive result. Of course, these were but first impressions. The mission was yet to truly commence, and Roseblood was yet to complete it.

The inquisitorial communications operator immediately linked Roseblood through to one of his colleagues over at the intelligence department, who replied: "A jewelry store was robbed three days ago by three masked figures. At least one of them had used some sort of superpower or device to crack open the safe. The three of them got in and out within mere minutes and left with several tens of thousands of German Pounds in stolen necklaces, rings, silver and golden bars, gemstones, and diamonds. That is all from what I can tell from glancing over the report. I'll upload the entire report as well as all security camera footage to your communicator." Within an instant all of the files were uploaded, and shortly after, Harold Payne contacted Roseblood. "What can I do for you, Cain?" he asked. Unlike with most people, he used a much more friendly tone when speaking to Cain, who he had slowly begun to consider to be his battle brother and friend.

The Labyrinth
Dugal yelled out as Fillipo whispered inside his head. He gritted his teeth, trying to resist the corruption of the disease. It was difficult though. The disease was overpowering, yet he continued to resist. He kept his goals in mind. His love for his wife, son, and country.

"I refuse to join your madness!! AHHH!!!"

Dugal's power was increasing as the Neostigma proceeded. He sent another wall of flame in a circle around them, further shrinking the area of combat. His skin took a slightly paler tone as the disease proceeded.

"Why did you call me a Shepard?? What does that mean?"

Milus saw Fillipo put a hand on Dugal's forehead and begin to corrupt him, something that apparently caused excruciating pain. He was actually going to help him, but no, fate had to be against him in this one instance. He continued recovering as he saw Dugal's blade wreathed in black soul energy and witnessed both his and Snowflake's failed attack at Fillipo. The man seemed to be far too powerful for anyone but Dugal to handle and, with him corrupted, he didn't know what would happen. However, much to Milus' relief, Dugal seemed to be resisting.

But, for now, all Milus could do, was watch.

Fillipo looked over his shoulder at the shrinking wall of fire around him and Dugal, and took a step forward to prevent getting burned by it. He didn't like the tight situation he was in. Fillipo had counted on Dugal becoming corrupted much faster than the current rate. It was starting to unsettle Fillipo. Dugal's powers were very great, even with an empty soulsword, or whatever he called it. If things continued like this, he may actually had to fight him head-on: something which Fillipo did not mind, as he was confident of his own strength and skill, but he hated it when his plans failed. When Dugal suddenly asked about why he had called him a 'Shepherd', Fillipo looked him in the eyes. "Don't you even know your own history?" he asked with a mixture of surprise and disapproval. A vile smirk appeared on his face. "Don't worry. Once your mind is mine, I'll tell you everything you want to know." Fillipo squinted his eyes as he stretched the palms of his hands out at Dugal. "Now, be mine!" he proclaimed as he infused the Neostigma energy within Dugal with all of his strength and power. Not even Dugal would be able to resist this last and final attack on his mind. Was this the end of the mighty hero, then? Would Snowflake, Melody, Milus, Sebastian, Karl and Bardarus have to fight their own friend and family? Perhaps even kill him, assuming they were even strong enough to best both Fillipo as well as the corrupted Dugal? They would soon find out.

The world suddenly stopped in time completely. Nothing moved any more. Everything was lifeless. The only one capable of perceiving and moving was Dugal, and if he were to look at his hands and the rest of his body, he would find himself in a most familiar state: his soul form. It appeared he had been forced into it. If he were to look over his shoulder, he would see himself. Or rather, his body, frozen in time just like all the others on the great bridge. From out of the mythical sword the petrified Dugal was holding, a strange liquid began to slowly drip on the ground, creating a small pool. It grew and grew in size until finally it began to rise and shape itself into something. It quickly became clear that it was shaping itself into a humanoid form, and several seconds later, Dugal would be able to recognize exactly who the person was it was shaping into. It was the soul of Max Morton, who looked at Dugal with an angry look on his face. Before Dugal could say even a single word, Max punched him right in the face, which would without a doubt send Dugal flying. Max stared down at Dugal. "What the hell do you think you're doing!?" he spoke furiously.

The Labyrinth, Soul World
Dugal felt his being give way as Fillipo forced the darkness of Neostigma into every part of his essence. He felt tears well up as he knew this could be it for him. The rest of his existence could be spent in forced servitude. Then, suddenly things stopped. A flash, and suddenly he was elsewhere.

Not that far it seemed actually. Only elsewhere in the chamber. It occurred to him he no longer felt the Neostigma within him. He looked down to see he was in his soul form. He looked over to the bridge to see the battle he had just been a part of, frozen in time. His body was almost completely ravaged by the Neostigma. Why this was happening he didn't know. Suddenly, a odd liquid poured from his sword. Dugal watched with fascination as the liquid continued to come out, before slowly forming into humanoid form. It became Max Morton, in his soul form.

Dugal said nothing as the soul of Max approached him. He appeared angry. Dugal opened his mouth to ask what was wrong, but Max socked him in the face yelling at him. He free fell through space, before stopping in midair five feet below. Dugal righted himself and flew back up to Max.

"What on earth are you talking about??!! What was that for??? And where are we??!"

Unknown Location
The darkened lab of Vomica was empty, save for a small movement on the left wall. Vomica moved about in the dark, apparently well aware of where he was going. Suddenly he stopped and clicked something. A soft beeping noise rang through the dear air, and a tank lit up with blue light. Within the tank was an odd liquid, that looked blue but was merely reflecting light. Within this tank of fluid was a man. A man who went by the name Bond. He had seemingly fallen to the Neostigma weapon of a Roman months earlier during the battle of London. Yet here he was, hooked up to several different cords that monitored his body. Bond appeared to be ravaged by the effects of Neostigma in several areas.

Vomica smiled after seeing several charts. All was going according to his design. He looked down at his own hand, withered by what appeared to be Neostigma as well. The Roman had been foolish to hit him directly with Neostigma energy. Vomica walked along, turning on other lights in his lab. The body of Beta Nasagori was in a tank as well, among others too dark to see. Vomica sat at one of his tables, covered in paper and other materials. A Hyde creature stood nearby, guarding the lab entrance. He was particularly proud of this strain of the Hyde disease. While it numbed most brain function, it made a perfect guard. The disease had altered the mind of the person so they would protect their territory at all costs. Vomica had taught them that this was their territory. Garrent and Daemon were disgusted he used other people to put his diseases in, but Vomica hardly cared. Their lives had little purpose in this corrupted world. Vomica brought them to a higher cause.

Vomica checked some other notes and became wrapped in his work. That is why he was startled when a voice came out of the darkness.

"Greeting Vomica."

Vomica jerked upwards. He looked about to see a shape in a dark part of the room. Vomica smiled as he knew who it was.

"How nice of you to stop by. Do you enjoy my work?"

"It is very interesting. Though I see you haven't spared expense in using other people."

"Haha. How funny. Your work involves hurting others more than mine. Though perhaps not as many people."

"Fair enough. I guess we haven't held such a narrow minded look at things as the others. Though Daemon did make SPECTRE. You know what they do there well enough."

"Yes. I think it brings much guilt to him though. We are not weakened by such feelings. But enough of idle talk. You do have a purpose in your visit, no?"

"I do. I have found what I was looking for. It shall help you I think."

A pale spindly hand came from the darkness, and spread it's fingers over the lab table. Vomica noted his hands were more frail than his own. Then they began to writhe. The hand began to grown in size, gaining muscle. It reddened to the color of blood and long sharp claws grew where his nails had been. By the time the process finished, the hand now resembled that of some hell creature. A devil or demon. Red light bathed the room, as an object came out of the demon hand and fell onto the table. Vomica's mouth became a wide smile as he knew exactly what it was. He snickered very happily. This would change everything.

Psychotic Dictatorship

Max grinded his teeth in anger. "You idiot! You cannot fail here! Have you forgotten your promise? You swore that your blade would taste the blood of Ansed Booth and Oberus Janner!" he proclaimed, completely ignoring Dugal's questions. The furious soul floated towards Dugal and grabbed him threatingly at his collar. "Look down there, Dugal! Do you see those people? Those are your friends, your allies! Our allies! Do you have any idea what will happen to them if you fall? They'll be enslaved by Fillipo and they'll be stuck in this god-awful place for the rest of their lives! Or perhaps if Fillipo is feeling merciful, he'll just cut them down right there! Is that what you want, Dugal? Are you really that kind of person!?" Max was staring right into Dugal's eyes. The deceased inquisitor could barely contain his frustration. He was right there and yet there was nothing he could do, except for trying to push Dugal to fight the corruption. "Are you!?" he proclaimed loudly one last time.

Dugal closed his eyes as Max yelled in anger at him. It cut to his core. Max was yelling truths he was very well aware of. But what could he do? The Neostigma was dominating his being. It was biological as well as mystical in nature. He couldn't defy science. Even his father Connor hadn't been able to resist the power of the disease. What could he do? He looked over to see his friends, slowly being surrounded by the corrupted soul . Snow, Melody, and Milus. They would likely die. More people dead, all because of him.

All his life he had struggled to what was right. He remembered when he was a kid, studying biology. Dugal had wanted to be a great scientist. To follow in the footsteps of the greats. But his powers manifested. And he was viewed as a freak, no matter how he tried to get past it. His parents, or rather stepfather and mother, had just thrown him out on the street. He fell into gangs and crime. Most would have ended up dead or stuck in that life. But Dugal couldn't die, and miraculously, he found a way out of that life. He emerged from the darkness. Dugal became a hero then. The Green Ghost. He felt he had to make up for all the hurt he caused as a criminal. And he helped so many. He even managed to land a job at a lab. But as if fate itself taunted him, he fell back into darkness, Dugal was fired from his job for his hero work because of HUNT. Full of anger and jealously for those better off, he idiotically took revenge against the Band and joined HUNT. Hah. Even that was a lie. Dugal had realized the real reason he joined HUNT. SImple revenge couldn't drive Dugal to do what he did. It was greed and lust for power. He felt he deserved something. And so he fell back into darkness and worked as Mentar's stooge. NO matter that he killed and wreaked so many lives in the process. He finally had respect and status. Dugal had become a greater evil than ever before. And yet somehow, he was given another chance. He met Elena and was able to come back. He remembered who he truly was. With the help of Breail Rathal, Dugal joined the right side again. Elena then died, shattering him. He lost his mind and fell into a bottomless pit of madness. He killed many, viewing himself as Death. This madness would have lasted forever, were it not for his father's powers. Somehow God smiled on him and he was able to gain the sword of his family. Dugal played a role in ending the terror of Reznov and Omega. He had done so much wrong and tried so hard to make up for his sins. This is what drove him to enter the Labyrinth, to risk never being able to see his family again. He didn't deserve to. His life had to be dedicated to making up for all his wrongs. But no matter how hard, Dugal couldn't catch a break. Here he was. On the brink of darkness again. About to lose it all. But he realized something. If he fell this time, there would be no coming back. No person would be there to right his path. If he fell to this monster's darkness he would kill everyone he cared about. Dugal would be a weapon for Barolt and Rome's evil would cover the Earth.

Dugal gritted his teeth and yelled at Max's words.

"NO. I'M NOT!!!!!"

Dugal yelled out and was back in his body. At once, he felt the crushing weight of Neostigma upon his soul threatening to plummet him. It was so strong. He wasn't going to be able to fight it he realized. He would become a pawn for evil again. It was over. Dugal prepared to end his struggle when he saw his reflection on his sword's blade. Half of his face was black, one of his eyes the color of Neostigma. No. He wouldn't let himself become that again. NOT EVER AGAIN! He yelled out, pushing against the Neostigma. He used his soul manipulating powers upon his very own soul. He loved his family and friends. No more harm would come to them. Tears flowed down his cheeks as he drew upon the love and sadness of his soul and increased it. He used that inner strength and spread a it across the infected areas of his soul. To his surprise, the Neostigma began to be destroyed. He yelled with another great effort and pushed the darkness out. He remained aware of FIllipo and caused the walls of flame around them to crash on them both, as Dugal leaped to grab the head of FIllipo. IF he contacted, he attempt to push the Neostigma from Fillipo's soul.

The entire scene seemed to go in slow motion. Fillipo, a smug look on his face as he watched Dugal struggle against the corrupting Neostigma, when suddenly, something profound changed within Dugal. Tears began to flow over his cheeks. Fillipo saw it, and suddenly felt that his corrupting energies within Dugal were vanishing rapidly. The grin on Fillipo's face faded. He frowned in frustration, wondering why his powers over Dugal were being severed. Then suddenly, with one great push, Dugal banished the last of the Neostigma out of his body. The force with which this happened was great enough that to Fillipo it felt like part of himself had been destroyed. Fillipo's eyes widened and his jaw dropped in puzzlement as this happened. Dugal was now leaping for him, the holy warrior's hand going for the corruptor's head. Fillipo stepped back anxiously, but burned his back against the shrinking ring of fire around the two warriors. He briefly looked over his shoulder, realized it, and when he looked back again at Dugal, he found the Shepherd's hand grabbing hold of his face. A shot of pure soul energy went straight through Fillipo's head. It was ironic, that Fillipo was now the one whose mind was being altered. The corruptor screamed in agony as he felt the Neostigma seed within him fight against Dugal's soul manipulating powers. With his right fist Fillipo desperately tried to punch Dugal in the stomach to get him off of him. It was a last resort.

Seeing Dugal being transformed to the neostigma had deeply saddened both Melody and Snowflake. It seemed that one of Snowflake's closest friends was about to mirror the situation of her husband, yet with Fillipo there, there would be no way to free him from this dreadful fate. She needed to do something, yet they had been surrounded by some form of shield to protect them from these strange, eye-like things.

Suddenly, Melody screamed out. "He's fighting it off!" A smile spread right across her face, as she began to believe in Dugal. Both mother and daughter moved as close as they could, shouting supportive words to Dugal, and reminding him of the life he was fighting for. With Dugal now free, Fillipo had met his match. But the needed to help, and so the shield needed to go. Snowflake spun on the spot and nodded at the inquisitors. They'd know what she meant.

The Labyrinth
Dugal held on and continued to mess with Fillipo's soul. He would restore light and balance to it once more. Fillipo flung a wild right punch at him, but Dugal met the punch with an open hand and then grabbed the fist. He then went full out and tried to destroy the darkness of Fillipo's soul.

Training Facility, Greater Japanese Empire
It had been several long months since Codename: Watchdog had joined Vladimir Reznov. His mission had been simple: infiltrate the inner workings of Vlad's empire to expose any weaknesses therein. Watchdog didn't know why SPECTRE required this information, but he followed his duty. The problem was that Vladimir had himself locked in tight. His security was state of the art, rivaling both Roman and SPECTRE technology. Furthermore, Vlad had quite a force of super powered beings. The Japanese Empire was powerful. Watchdog had been assigned to a special squad personally lead by Reznov himself. This squad was to be his hammer in the world. Watchdog had no problem fulfilling that role.

And so it was. The squad had been forming into a powerful force. Beside himself, it contained someone named Harper Mace and a few others. Watchdog had been training Harper in advanced combat for a while now. Watchdog was easily the most well trained out of all of Reznov's squad members and had to pick up the slack for the lesser trained. Currently, he was teaching Harper about paying attention to one's surroundings. The environment was always important to watch for in battle. He stood waiting in a facility for Harper's arrival.

"How good is your German?" Cain asked. He paused for a second. "Also, how pliable are your morals?" He knew the answer to both, but best to check anyway. Payne was one of the people who would follow Cain into the heat of battle. He needed support in this opperation, and if anyone would be fit for the job, it was Payne.

Fillipo grinded his teeth madly as his fist was caught by Dugal, who then began to pump even more of his soul energy directly into Fillipo's mind. The corruptor screamed in agony, and so did his thousands of eyes which had by now covered every square inch of the massive room, the only exception being the area where the rest of the heroes were standing, protected by the shield generated by Bismarck's enchanted staves. As the Neostigma seed within Fillipo slowly crumbled, so did the eyes. Even though this process happened slowly, the force with which it happened was immense. With every vanishing of an eye, a new shockwave spread out across the room, causing cracks in the walls, the ceiling, and even the bridge spanning across the seemingly endless void itself. The rate with which the eyes were vanishing was ever increasing. The bridge began to shake heavily. If Dugal were to continue his hold on Fillipo, the bridge could very well crumble. But what else could he do? Release Fillipo? That would only postpone the inevitable. It was up to Dugal and the heroes what course of action they were going to take.

Sebastian saw Snowflake's nod. "The bridge is not going to hold this," he said as he looked at the power struggle between Dugal and Fillipo. "We've got to blast Fillipo off the bridge and hope that this place is deep enough to at least incapacitate him for a while. Are you ready?" he said as he enveloped his fists with fire.

Harold Payne smirked at Cain's words as he wiped blood from his bayonet with the clothes of the USNA spy he had just tracked down and killed after torturing every bit of information he could get out of him. Payne sat down, seemingly in the mood for a little chat. "I've done quite some missions in Germany in the past, so my German is excellent. About my morals... well... you know I completely disregard those while on the job, lest they drive me to drink." Payne smiled at his own remark. "I'm getting the feeling you're eager to get me on board of some venture, Cain. What are you planning?"

"Nothing too adventurous, just some espionage on a gang controlling most of New Germany." Cain could almost hear Payne smiling through the phone. "A small operatiojn, of course. Two, maybe three man job. Prevents leaks." Cain rose from his chair and began walking toward the Inquisitorial Hanger.

"You must be referring to the Red Hand," Payne said while he sheathed his bayonet. "There's been quite a lot of rumors going around about them. I presume the lord high inquisitor assigned you to lead the investigation? It was about time he did. You won't believe how many times I've urged him to gather intel on the Red Hand. Sometimes I get the feeling that he isn't taking his job seriously at all." Payne smirked. "What am I saying. Of course he doesn't take his job seriously. You and I both know who he really is." Payne was referring to the fact that Montego wasn't in control of his own body: it was the Will of Iscariot who was pulling the strings in his mind. Payne leaned with his back against a wall. "You can count me in. This will be interesting. It's the first time our roles are reversed. Up until now, I've always been the one leading the missions." Payne did not mean this negatively. On the contrary: he was glad that his battle brother's skills were finally recognized by Montego. "Just give me a when and a where."
