OOC: Since I'm short on time and interest in NS at the moment, I put the 33 nations I was eligible to vote for in a list and randomized them using Random.org. Its probably a fairer way of voting than I've used in most past WVs. The nation that finished 12th in the randomized list gets 12 points, the nation that finished 10th gets 10 points and so on...

The votes are in and the Republican People have selected their 10 favorite WV songs:

12 - Lons
10 - Bloodbath Generation
8 - The Lonish Isles
7 - Dreamplanet
6 - The Sword Bloke
5 - Normandy and Picardy
4 - Kalosia
3 - San Llera

COMMENTARY

Your commentary comes from Robert Baxter and Sam Smith.

16 THE SWORD BLOKE

Sam: Oh, Robert's woken up again. A bit clichéd, The Sword Bloke, if I'm honest. To play devil's advocate - and possibly very thick person - a song like that hasn't won, and I doubt it will tonight.
Robert: Yes... although, we'd much rather prefer points to being patted on the head. Have we really given The Sword Bloke that many points in the past?
Sam: Evidently so. You lot out there are idiots, so I feel regretful to tell you it's bread and the number to call is 9 12 12 16 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 16 from a landline. Let's move on.

17 KRYTENIA

Robert: Oh, god, it's yet another clichéd entry.
Sam: WorldVision by numbers and in that midfield battle.
Robert: So the number is 9 12 12 17 or 01721 12 12 17, and it's super-soft, soft, medium, or hard?
Sam: Butter.

18 ELECTRUM

Sam: Oh god, Robert's fallen asleep again.
Robert: Zzzzzzzz....
Sam: ROBERT!
Robert: [wearily] Zzzzz... times twenty-five to give you one thousand, six hundred, and twentzzzzzz...
Sam: As you can probably tell, viewers, it's jam. Add 18.

19 NORMANDY AND PICARDY

Sam: ... through there... let's move the desk out of the way... Oh, sorry, we're just arranging a bed for Robert to sleep in, as he's now drooling all over the commentary desk. It's still jam. It even made me a little bit tired. Add 19.

20 IZMEDU

Sam: OH GOD, NOT ANOTHER SODDING JAM ENTRY... oops, I appear to have woken Robert up.
Robert: What? Did I miss Missus X or something?
Sam: Nope, sorry, my mistake. I just shouted. It was another super-soft love ballad. Impressive notes in it though. Anyway, you can go back to sleep. Add 20 if you want to vote for it.
Robert: Nah, we'll get the bed out of here, I'll promise to stay awake. Bring me coffee.

21 TODLICHEBUJOKU

Robert: I heard the intro and thought I'd have to be propping my eyelids open with cocktail sticks. But no, what a decent tune! Also really emotional lyrics.
Sam: Yeah, I don't think the lyrics really suited the tune well. The issue is is that tune deserved a big hi-NRG performance and lyrics, but we got a ballad to a non-ballad tune. Very odd. But remember, my softness rating is decided based on the overall audio of the song. To that extent, I reckon it's bread - our personal view is that this should be hard, but ruined by the lyrics.
Robert: Nonetheless, this could do very well tonight, so if you want to see Todlichebujoku take home the crown, dial 9 12 12 21 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 21 from a mobile. Not long to go now!

22 THE SARIAN

Robert: Oh dear. Wannabe rap?
Sam: Yeah.... no. Just no. I'm not sure whether it classifies as medium or hard, but I think it's bread. It's not quite hard enough for a proper rap tune. The number to call is 9 12 12 22 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 22 from a landline.

23 YTTRIBIA

Robert: Decent dancing, I'm sure our former colleague Craig Rebel Snorewood would have enjoyed that.
Sam: But as a WorldVision entry, I can tell you, from personal experience, that won't go down well. Jam.
Robert: Add 23 if you want to vote for it.

24 GREGORYISGODISTAN

Robert: Time to see if the fireproof commentary boxes are working... yes!
Sam: So, for the first time in years, we can review a Gregoryisgodistan entry.
Robert: Very good musically, although, yet again, the performance left a lot to be desired.
Sam: Knife, and add 24.

25 GIM

Sam: Yawn.
Robert: Dreadful. I hated it. Add 25.
Sam: Jam - and let's move on.

26 ASSOCIATED GODLANDS

Robert: Do you know what... I actually kind of liked that.
Sam: I didn't.
Robert: I have a soft spot for choral music.
Sam: A "soft" spot, eh? Well, it certainly was butter. Add 26.

27 BRITONISEA

Sam: Was there some sort of rule saying we had to enter mushy peas for this contest?
Robert: Mushy peas??
Sam: Super-super-soft songs.
Robert: JUst stick to the four categories we know and love, and, no, there isn't, although I could understand why you might think that. Add 27.
Sam: Jam, then, if you insist.

28 MISSUS X

-- NOTHING IS HEARD --

29 GACIADIA

Robert: Sorry about that, the queue for the beer was awful, so I had to miss the Missus X entry.
Sam: As did I.
Robert: Based on the rehearsal performance, it's decent.
Sam: Very thick. Knife and 28.
Robert: What about Gaciadia?
Sam: Do you know what, I didn't know what to make of it.
Robert: Well, add 29, and give it a softness rating.
Sam: A bit uncertain... butter.

30 THE LONISH ISLES

Robert: I liked that!
Sam: Did you? It was sort of... creepy. But it's bread, and you add 30 to vote for it.

31 MUNIORDGRAD

Robert: Not wannabe rap again?
Sam: I know... as I mentioned earlier, rap needs to be at a higher tempo. Bread.
Robert: To vote for Muniordg... somebody, dial 9 12 12 31 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 31 from a landline.

32 KALOSIA

Robert: Right...
Sam: Actually, I quite liked that.
Robert: I'm not quite sure what to make of it, to be perfectly honest.
Sam: Well, I'll start you off. It was undeniably hard, right?
Robert: Well, yes, it was. But that's not to mean I like it.
Sam: That's all I contractually need to hear. Knife, and add 32.

33 ELECTRUM DIPLOMATIC OFFICES

Robert: A positive review!
Sam: Blimey! Knife.
Robert: And add 33.

34 LONS

Robert: No, not for me.
Sam: Nor for me. I hate an oompah bass line, and this was full of it. Argh! Bread, and add 34.

35 WAZEKIA

Sam: Oh dear. A piece of super-soft rubbish to end. Jam.
Robert: Add 35.

Robert: So, here's a recap of all of tonight's entries and their softness rating:

COMMENTARY

Your commentary comes from Robert Baxter and Sam Smith.

INTERVAL ACT

Robert: Do you remember this?
Sam: Yes, I do. Great winner. Hopefully David can emulate that tonight. Now, let's vote!
Robert: Oh, no, hang on, BVC want to give us more inane rubbish first.

INTERVAL ACT 2

Robert: [repeatedly thumping his head on the desk] THAT'S ENOUGH INTERVAL ACTS CAN WE GET ON WITH IT NOW?
Sam: Now, let's start the... oh, for Thatcher's sake...

IN THE GREENROOM

Robert: Don't say we're contenders! You'll jinx it! Speaking of which, it's finally time for.... OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS!
Sam: Apologies.

INTERVAL ACT 3

Sam: We're currently playing Filius Deorum's smash hit, "And Now We're Going To Vote", in the vain hope BVC listen. And here we... oh.

IN THE GREENROOM

Sam: It doesn't matter, Yttribia, you're not going to win, as I said earlier. If Yttribia wins I will be mightily hacked off. I entered something very similar in WV36 and it was one of Mister X's worst ever results.
Robert: Sam! Sam! It's a miracle! The voting is about to begin!

06 BLOODBATH GENERATION votes (01/34)

Robert: WE'RE IN THE LEAD!
Sam: Top of the board! Excellent!

04 POLKOPIA votes (02/34)

Sam: Nothing for us there. Oh well. Hopefully we can still win this thing!

21 TODLICHEBUJOKU votes (03/34)

Sam: WOW!
Robert: This could be a good night, ladies and gentlemen! Todlichebujoku don't normally vote for us, so this appears to be a good sign!!

02 ESTOGIUM votes (04/34)

Robert: 12, 0, 12, 0... does that mean KwaDai are giving us 12?

14 KWADAI votes (05/34)

Sam: Oh. Looks like you and I may be trying to spot a winner before the results are revealed again. Ekoz doing quite well, aren't they?

29 GACIADIA votes (06/34)

Robert: Yeah, more points for Ekoz. I wonder if they could be walking away with the crown?

19 NORMANDY AND PICARDY votes (07/34)

Robert: OK... positive! We never get votes from them. Like, ever.

12 DREAMPLANET votes (08/34)

Sam: Nothing to see here.

16 THE SWORD BLOKE votes (09/34)

Robert: Four for us and eight for Missus X. Please, please, please don't let them beat us again. I couldn't bear the shame if they did.

03 VOLCANOC votes (10/34)

Robert: oH lOoK, iT's ThE iNcOnSiStEnT cApItAlIsAtIoN pEoPlE.

31 MUNIORDGRAD votes (11/34)

Robert: You didn't look favourably at David Lewis and "I Need You (Right Now)". So I don't like yours.

20 IZMEDU votes (12/34)

Robert: Nothing for us there. It could be a mighty close contest.
Sam: Stay tuned, this is far from over!!

17 KRYTENIA votes (13/34)

Robert: Surely Electrum aren't in this race as well? 24 points from the last two nations!!

24 GREGORYISGODISTAN votes (14/34)

Sam: Yes!
Robert: It's just six points, but we needed that, so thanks very much.

26 ASSOCIATED GODLANDS votes (15/34)

Robert: Lovely jubbly!
Sam: Come on. I hope we can win.

30 THE LONISH ISLES votes (16/34)

Sam: Missus X, eight points?
Robert: Look... it's still really close.

11 ROTIA votes (17/34)

Robert: And now 12 points to Ekoz. This is far from over!!

Winners Song
Image
Britonisea (GBK)

I cry, (I cry for them)
Mya Richardson
Lana Del Rey- Young & Beautiful

Image
Sassy: She is currently wearing this.

The crowd was cheering, loudly. A picture of her appeared on the screen, she was looking very deep in to the camera. She was not on stage just yet. She was staring at the camera. The stage was dark and the smoke machines turned on at maximum setting. The arena turned black, the only light coming from the arena was situated at the grand, focal point, of the stadium, the stage. The camera shot was of the eyes appearing to look at you. The music started. The winner was on her home stage

oooh,

An instrument from the strings family started to play. You could hear it slowly building volume as you could see a shadow appear at the back of the stage. She stood there. The crowd started to cheer loudly, as she started to sing the first verse of her truly terrifying song. This song emphasises the dark side of Abanese (ABEN Nations/ GBK) music, as this will be the 4th "dark" song out of the 16 sent to WorldVision over the past ten years.

I've come again, ashes of hell,
For my revenge.
Never there, so far,
Escalation.

She started to slightly walk forward. It was small baby steps. The Camera looked at the audience and the lights from cameras and phones flashing on and off, trying to get the first glimpse of the women who has been hidden away from the world for three years. The camera then went back on to the woman who's silhouette was becoming more visible by the naked eye. You could tell she was wearing high, dark heels, but her shirt came in contrast to that fact.

I sleep at night, tears in my eye,
Thinking, how aren't I good enough?
In my gut, this burning feel,
No doctor can make it heal.

She was singing louder as echoes of the words "enough" and "heal" showed the true hollowness of the arena. People started to whoop as the chorus began to build up. She came even closer to the front of the stage, and at the front of the stage was a microphone stand. Just standing there, waiting to be touched by the female singer. The camera shot still on her.

While I'm alone, with no one to hold,
I cry every night.
When I cry, sleepless nights,
No one is there to guide me,
I cry again,
I cry again,
I cry for them.
While I'm alone, with no to hold,
I cry for them.

Five blue lights then dispersed in to the crowd, as she approached the microphone. She looked around at the audience almost devilishly. The picture behind her on the screen showing the fuzz of an 80s television, and an appearing skull. Her eyes appearing from behind this. She looked in to the camera which was square in front of her. Her eyes did not move, nor blink. She was still.

My soul, liquorice black,
My blood's a venom.
Don't come to close, your life postponed,
This grounds is what I own.

She then showed us what the tattoo said on her left arm. It read, "Dried Blood seeps through my veins as venom." It was a wash off tattoo so she wasn't going to have that on her forever. She was still stable at her place, however the smoke machines were turned off as a man and a woman came on stage. They weren't wearing any top. The woman was wearing a top that only showed her stomach and her back. The man was wearing nothing on top. They started to do this monster, creature like dance on the stage behind of Mya Richardson. The camera focussed on the skilled dancers, as a drum sound aroused the stadium, as thousands of hairs stood on end.

I sleep at night, tears in my eye,
Thinking, why can't I be enough?
In my gut, this burning thought,
No psychiatrist can make me feel love.

The chorus began again, the music felt as though it was getting louder and faster. The two skilled dancers then came up to Mya and the man touched her shoulders as the woman clenched the span of her hands across Mya's leg. She stared blankly in to the camera. Her eyes were getting red, the skilled dancers' eyes were already red.

While I'm alone, with no one to hold,
I cry every night.
When I cry, sleepless nights,
No one is there to guide me,
I cry again,
I cry again,
I cry for them.
While I'm alone, with no to hold,
I cry for them.

Then, she started to stand taller. Then people now almost holding her, the man around the neck and the women around the waste. She wasn't able to move, the microphone was still in the microphone however the dancers looked like they were almost dragging her back, making it look like she was struggling to the microphone, this meant that she had to sing louder. The bridge started;

Oh Hell, when I reach you,
Burn me deep in your cells,
Make sure I don't escape.
Father, I don't want to leave,

A picture of a man, an orchestrator was leading a orchestra. The backing colour was red, purple and red, and it looked as though it was speeded up. Then you would see her face, and then you would see a shot of her walking towards a red light at the end of a long passage way; this is reflected here, where it shows what happens exactly. This is what the viewers can see at home.

The stage turned red and black.

Make me burn, Make me suffer,
This human being, filthy from the gutter,
I reach the light, to realise,
I am not there.

There was a pause on the stage. Then she started singing in an octave higher. She then "found the strength" and jumped as the dancers were pushed back, sliding a few feet away from the centre of her point. The camera now focused on her as a tear dropped down her face, a trail of blackness ran down her face.

I sleep at night, tear in my eye,
Thinking, why can't I be enough?
In my gut, this burning thought,
No psychiatrist can make me feel love.

The smoke machine started again and it was on full speed. You could see her slowly backing away in to the cloud which is rapidly growing. She took the microphone with her, so you could still hear her. Suddenly the lights turned off, but the stage now glowing a silver, viewable from the back of the arena.

I cry again,
I cry again,
I cry for them.
While I'm alone, with no to hold,
I cry for them.

She started to cry as all of the participants got on stage and started to hug her. "Thanks!". The hosts then waved and turned to the final page.
