Empires of Smoke is a Steampunk RP that will go from the earliest times of the Industrial Era. It will Focus upon the Advancement of Technology, Creation of New Inventions and the Expansion of Empires. Be Creative with your new inventions but keep them within the limits of reality. Do not worry about not being an European Nation
Rules
-No Godmodding, MetaGaming, Flaming, Spamming, PowerGaming or Cheating in General

-Make detailed post, I don't want small posts saying "France conquered Algeria with 10,000 men" else it shall be ignored and considered non-canon
-OOC talk must be done in the OOC forum, same goes for IC in the IC forum
Gameplay and Functions
Acquisition of Territory:
-each week you are allowed to claim, the size of the claim shall be judged on the territory that was claimed so we don't people claiming entire nations like Russia in one go. although Claimed territory is not yours until it's annexed which will take either a week, half or one and a half depending on the Nationalism and Cultural Ties
-Nationalism will increase the time it takes for you to annex territory by half a week. Nationalism will be present when you conquer territory from another player
-Cultural Ties will be determined in the app, these will decrease the annexation time to half a week (Note: if nationalism is present you continue having half a week annexation time)
-Colonial Possessions they are determined by their distance if a direct land route is not available or the sea route is too far, they work similar to claims although the amount of resources will be cut by half, to annex these territories you must atleast have 5 adjacent colonies thus Becoming a Colony
-Colonies these will continuing having only half the amount of resources available, after a colony is formed claiming adjacent province will work like claims and a week until becoming a colony(this happens independently of you having a colonial possession adjacent to the claimed province)
-Notes: You may not claim a colonial possession and claim a province adjacent to your nation in the same week
Technology:
-Advancing Technologicly requires a nation to be atleast Half Industrialized and have 10 pairs of Iron and Coal. Or Non Industrialized nations may discover technology
-Coal and Iron, these two resources are the basis of industrial production thus they are needed to create new technologies. each province has a set amount of coal and iron (0-10). if a player reaches twice more, thrice more and so forth and they will get 2, 3, 4 technologies respectfully per 2/4 weeks.
-Industrialization this is major factor as it will determine whether your nation produces technology in 2 weeks(Fully industrial) or 4 weeks(half-industrial) or none(not Industrial). if you are a Non-Industrial nation you have to sacrifice 20 sources of coal to fully industrialize and 10 to doing it by half.
-Spreading of Technologies this event will happen once atleast 4 weeks after the technology has been discovered, thus allowing others to use it. Unless the government tries to hide it. if 2 or more nations discover this technology before 4 weeks after the first then the time of spread will lower to 2 weeks. Unless somehow all of these government try to protect it
Application guidelines and rules
-There is no actual limits to claims, we will thus administer applications to make sure none get enormous amount of land and resources at the start. Balance your claims, a big nation with little to no industrialization or a small nation fully industrialized
-Realistic Population, we aren't super mutant nations even in a steampunk RP Monaco won't receive 3 billion population at any case. Balance your civilian population with your military population you can't force your entire population into your standing army, nor can you at all into the entire military. within reason you may increase these with recruitment and conscription.
-make sure your government isn't some hypocritical ideology mixture with machine using industries and a government full of Luddites
-Be very specific on your claims and your cultural influence on the surrounding regions
