Ardoki wrote:The economy during Pinochet's neoliberal reforms werre absolutely horrible. Far worse than under the previous Marxist government. He ended up veering more to the centre, and then the Chilean economy started to improve.
I didn't say a damn word about Pinochet.
All I said to do was compare Chile, arguably the most sucessful nation in South America by a multitude of measurements, and considered by very many to be one of the most neoliberal states in the world; versus Guyana, arguably the least sucessful nation in South America by a multitude of measurements and undeniably socialist.
I'm not saying that "socialism = you must fail" (at least not on here as far as IC is concerned); but don't try and smack talk neoliberalism like it's somehow going to cripple my nation...
I don't know what guns and butter means.
"Guns vs Butter" is a metaphor to explain resource scarcity.
You can either put your resources into one thing or another, and you cannot have the maximum amount of both.
My point is that Inyursta spends most of its resources in one area (defense), while less in other areas (welfare, public services*); while Ardoki seems to spend its resources in both and somehow have an expansive and top-of-the-line armed forces (from what I have seen) as well as a massive and all-inclusive welfare state.
But this is rapidly turning into a Threadjack so...
