Just set them on fire. Zombies don't feel, so when even one is on fire, it wouldn't even give two shits and carry on shambling on. In a tightly-packed horde, the flames would spread from the first flaming ones to each subsequent zombie, turning the whole damned thing into a massive zombie barbecue, not even counting other flammable items in the area like spilled fuel, oil etc. And the dead zombies should carry right on burning, acting as a literal firewall for the rest of the horde. The few leftovers just need to be shot with guns, the traditional way.
