Biography: The daughter of a prominent British politician from before the plague struck, Annabelle Blackwood had been surviving the apocalypse camped out in Westminster Palace with former Members of Parliament, which had until recently been barricaded from the outside world. She decided to leave following dwindling food supplies and growing distrust, and headed north in an attempt to find other survivors as well as to satisfy her thirst for adventure. Before this however, Annabelle had received extensive Skill at Arms training from an old Royal Marine veteran who helped guard the palace, teaching her how to use the revolver and sword that she had inherited, both of which were in near perfect condition. Following the sudden deaths of her parents, Annabelle came to regard this soldier as a new father figure in her life, with his training helping her to deal with the loss and the emotional trauma. She quickly proved to be incredibly proficient with her weapons of choice, perhaps even surpassing the skill of the Royal Marine over her years of training, much to his surprise. However, Annabelle craved adventure, seeking to learn more about the outside world than what has just been told to her by the isolationists hidden within the Houses of Parliament, and as such, she decided she must leave the relative safety of home. During a troublesome period in the Palace, she stealthily made her way out and into the outside world.
Personality: Commanding, arrogant, stubborn, loyal, diligent, faithful, devout

APPLICATION:
IC-bits
Name: Martin Auclair
Gender: Male
Age: 45
Appearance: Stands at 5'9", has a rather average build for his age, white with a fair skin tone, short, dark brown hair with gray patches here and there, slight stubble, tired but focused complexion. Wears a dark grey, unbuttoned parka jacket over a brown long-sleeved shirt and a pair of worn, grey jeans and black work boots. Carries a pair of dusty old walkie-talkies, one attached to his jacket and one in his right pocket.
Nation of origin: Bermuda (by birth), United States of America (by residence/citizenship)
Equipment:
    - Heckler & Koch G36KV assault rifle
    - Glock 26 pistol
    - Various packs of ammunition for both weapons
    - Cricket bat
    - A few flares
    - A pack of playing cards
    - Various old music CDs
    - Tangled up piles of wires
    - A backpack to carry all this stuff in
Skills:
    - Reasonable firearms skills picked up in the early days of the outbreaks
    - Small degree of first aid
    - Many years of fixing telephone masts, generators and circuit breakers has left him with a very good grasp on electronic systems
    - Good endurance from years of extensive travel across Western Europe following the outbreaks
Biography: Born in Bermuda in 1988, Martin spent the first seven years of his life growing up in the British North Atlantic island territory before moving with his family to Hoboken, New Jersey in 1995 after his father got a cushy job offer in New York. In the ensuing 22 years leading up to the virus outbreak, Martin continued to live in Hoboken, eventually landing a job as an electrician servicing telephone poles for a living. When the "Greywater virus", as he had heard it named, first began producing corpses, he had tried to pass it off as just another unfortunate happening on the other side of the world, but when it suddenly spread ravenously across the globe, nobody could keep ignoring it in good conscience. Martin had been visiting distant family in Corsica when flights back to the US were canceled and all planes were permanently grounded, leaving him stranded in Europe with no way of reaching his family back in New Jersey. Immediately afterwards, all semblance of organized government collapsed, anarchy set in and the mass graves dotting the landscape grew ever larger, with nobody in any position to do anything about it.

15 years later, Martin has sporadically drifted across Europe to end up where he is now, having long since departed the abandoned husk of Corsica for the more "stable" lands further north, if one can believe such places still exist. The family he had been visiting all dropped dead within months, so there was little reason to stay behind. He spent several years residing in a town in northern Germany, but after he and some of his companions pissed off the wrong people, he packed his stuff and ran, eventually bribing his way onto a boat headed for the British Isles. Now living near the former city of Birmingham, he has on numerous occasions lent his services towards scouring the ruins of less fortunate cities situated near the coast, but in a general sense he is something of a homebody, sticking around the townships whilst using the memories of his old life in the United States to keep his head above the water.
Personality: Martin, even during his early years, was always a particularly stoic and laid back individual, not often one to get all emotional over even especially terrible occurrences, especially since such events had become alarmingly commonplace by the time he reached his adult years. Watching the September 11 attacks from the port of Hoboken at the age of 13 was perhaps the only time preceding the outbreak in which Martin actually found something genuinely hard to watch, but other than that, life was just an enduring act all the way. Much of that changed in the months following the media firestorm about the "Graywater virus" and its alarmingly increasing presence worldwide, as now practically everything that meant anything to him was at serious risk. Family, homes, possessions, way of life, the whole works. Not being able to do anything about it was perhaps the first true eye-opener for Martin Auclair, and after his distant family in Corsica had all perished around him, he was practically a different person, now projecting his inner worries and urges onto anyone he bumped into (granted, encounters with other humans became very infrequent after enough time had passed) in an often futile attempt to fix what could no longer be fixed. In present times, his stoic attitude has to some extent resurfaced, but he is still always one to lend an ear and ferry advice along to anyone who looks like they need it.

1. Accepted friendo

2. Yeah, sorry about that. I guess we decided it didn't really matter, but here you go:
With fossil fuels becoming extremely scarce, further Russian aggression in eastern Europe, and a extreme militarist in power in China, world tensions were at an all time high. The war began when the Russian and Chinese governments declared war on NATO, forcing their way into the arctic circle to harvest the oil there as well as advancing into central Europe. Eventually, the Russians were pushed back into their own borders and a American invasion of China was being planned, but the virus was released and everything collapsed.

does that sound fine?

3. Thanks for calling me Führer it really boosts my ego

    Biography:
Firdous Hassan was a soldier in Iraq under Sadam Hussain atleast until he decided he could no longer live there and fled to the UK with his family. He was a religious man and still kept up his training routine even in UK. His son Rashid Hassan on other hand was the complete opposite. He hated his father, never forgave him for the migration to UK as a child and thus became a addicted to partying and having fun. Firdous Hussain worked hard as a store owner to get his son through college with the result that he never saw his son again until the war.

Iran had sided against NATO in the war and with Iraq split into two faction Rashid Hassan knew that the sentiments in UK would soon turn against ethnic Persians. Rashid Hassan had a family, a wife and son he had to protect so he turned to the only man he knew that was capable of protecting them. He returned to his father's doorstep with his wife Abigail Walker and 3 year old son Salman Rashid Hassan. Rashid and Abigail had bonded in college over their parental issues and gotten married. Firdous did not care what happened to him alone but with the arrival of Rashid and his family Firdous immediately went to work. Acquired weapons from an old army buddy who had become an arms dealer, but they still needed a place to hide. Abigail like Rashid decided to ask her family for help. She did not agree with how they did business and never wanted anything to do with them but for her son she approached them for a hiding place, they were in this aspect well connected. They didnt want the disgrace that their daughter had become to be known and equally wanted to hide them so they set up a farm in rural England where they could hide hopefully forever.

Isolated from the world they never knew about the plague or the end of the government until raiders began to appear in the surroundings. When he was five Salman's parents were killed by raiders and his grandfather destroyed the gang. Firdous realized that if his grandson was to survive he needed to be trained. Like a bird thrown out of his nest Firdous would teach him survival skills and whenever a raider gang got too close he would have Salman assist him in the fight. At the age of 15 he became the sole fighter as his grandfather became too old and weak. A few months ago his grandfather died leaving him alone Salman, now 20, decided that the place was too open and populated, he needed to find a better more concealed place to live if he wanted to survive in this world. He took up his favorite weapons, a few mementos and supplies and started to head north to find a quiet spot to live. Which is what brought him to West Bromwich. It is unknown whether his family on his mother's side lived but they never bothered to make contact so he never gave them a thought. If they were alive they would be in some bunker for the rich getting fat on good food while the rest of the world starved so who cares.

Personality: A lone wolf. Good listener but not much of a talker, very distrusting of others because his entire childhood was spent with his grandfather fighting against gangs. If you get to know him he has a kind and gentle personality. Has all the books he carries memorized. Not religious but practices Islam because of the respect he has for his grandfather.

I'm inclined to accept you, I'll consult with the others when they're online.

Just one concern, I'd advise you to tone down the kit. The skills are ok, certainly powerful but not quite into super-soldier territory. But does the character really need to be carrying - or would the character plausibly be carrying - 4 fighting knives and two suppressed Glock 17s? Unless he's an octopus, he only really needs one of each.

Also I've spotted more than a few grammatical errors in the bio. Nothing major, but perhaps just something to brush up on prior to posting stuff in the IC.

EDIT: After discussion, we've decided to accept your application. Welcome to the RP mate.

Thanks. Well I was thinking he just took whatever he could carry after his grandfathers death. Its not like he would be using them all at once but he has a tendency to have backups if he ever lost one of his weapons. He is a bit paranoid actually what with only meeting hostiles and his grandfather's survival training. But I can reduce them if you want.

Mainly lack of punctuation and a few missing words in places. I've made corrections below. Like I said though, nothing major.

Its not like he would be using them all at once but he has a tendency to have backups if he ever lost one of his weapons. He is a bit paranoid actually what with only meeting hostiles and his grandfather's survival training. But I can reduce them if you want.

I'd still say tone it down a little. I suppose he can carry two knives, if he wants a backup, but four is rather excessive. As for the handgun, the Glock 17 is an incredibly solid, reliable weapon - well, the late Gen 4s are at least, the earlier ones had a tendency to throw brass in the user's face - so I doubt a backup would really be necessary. And if he was just taking what he could carry, would his grandfather really have had that many duplicates of the same weapons?
