NS Nation Name: Ghondra
Character Name: Miguel Santana
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 32
Character Role: Senator
Appearance:
Character State of Origin: Florida
Character Affiliation Democrat
Main Strengths: Miguel is Charismatic and Intelligent, and his youth and energy has drawn many voters to him.
Main Weaknesses: He struggles with the Cynicism of Congress, although his personality has won him many friends in both houses of Congress, he faces opposition from the senior congressmen. Many of his ideas have been attacked as being socialist and un-american, or for simply being too unrealistic. Although the voters love him, he has been attacked in the media by his opponents due to some scandals, including an alleged drug addiction in college and (completely untrue, or is it?) rumors of him cheating on his wife with two D.C. Escorts.
Short Bio: Miguel was born to Second-Generation immigrants from Columbia, since an early age Miguel has always aspired to greatness, his grandmother once told him as a child that he was destined for greatness, (years later he would be informed of her dementia) since that moment he had his eyes set on Washington. His first experience in politics was as an intern for the Kerry Campaign in 2004, since then his star has only risen, serving two terms as Representative of Florida's 12th Congressional District before becoming the Junior Senator from Florida in 2012, replacing the incumbent and becoming one of the youngest members of the Senate.
Other Info: He is married with Three kids. He plans to run in 2020.
He has a socialist bent to his policies, being in favor of Welfare checks (with Time Limits) State Housing for the needy, Affordable College, Universal Health Care, abolishing Common Core and more education spending.
On Civil Rights he is very liberal, supporting LGBT and Minority Rights, in favor of taking in more Syrian Refugees and taking steps to rein in the Patriot Act. He is for stricter Gun Control.
He couldn't have been elected to the Senate in 2012, as he would've been 28 and therefore not eligable.[/quote]
Wasn't there an amendment that allowed people under 35 to run for Senate and President? Or was that only for previous RPs?
