GENERAL INFORMATION CONT.:
History of your Nation : History is identical up until the Great Northern War, where sweden won the battle of poltava, not only that, but they also managed to wound and capture Peter I(as the swedish army had arrived quicker than anticipated, and as such been able to live of local food storage's). This resulted with russia surrendering in exchange of releasing peter, sweden accepted and moved on to shipping it's army, now bolstered with more reinforcements from sweden, the army was split in 2, and one part marched and invaded norway, and won the siege of Fredriksten, while the other part waited in scania until winter and then marched over the ice to denmark, and for the second time took the danish by surprise, and proceeded to kick their asses back to Copenhagen, where the danish king surrendered to Charles XII, who convinced him to join him in a join kingdom. This lead to a era of peace on the nordic, with the russians paying tribute to sweden for the next 50 years.

With this era of peace the new dual kingdom set it's sights on offshore colonies, and in secret prepared and set out 5 expeditions. The result? Sweden claiming the falkland islands and Hong Kong to its domain in the 1720's. After that history is much the same, with the exception of the nordic slowly merging into one nation, and by the time sweden became a democracy, there was only one king. Sweden gained immense riches from it's trade in china, as well as their toll on the straight into the baltic. Sweden also adopted a policy of neutrality, while maintaining a proud, modern and sizable army.

A idea that lived on up until today, it remained neutral and untouched by both world wars, resulting in sweden growing even more economically. In the 1950's it built a research lab on antarctica, and signed Antarctic Treaty in 1959. In 1982 the argentinians launched a failed invasion of the falkland islands, where they established naval superiority over the 2 patrol boats present. But failed in the landing as the population had been alerted and had time to mobilize and meet the argentinians as they landed and started to advance. What followed was a 5 week standoff, with the army and home guard units unable to push the invaders out to the, and the invaders unable to push further in, the professional army, supported by the guerrilla like operations of the Home Guard locking them down on all fronts. It was only with the arrival of reinforcements from the coastal artillery that they were pushed back. Since then the coastal artillery have continually reinforced the islands from further attacks, with the argentinians saying, much like in real life, that they islands are theirs.
