The victors write history and the nations that still survive today have proven that fact. Can you answer the call of your people, can you lead your nation to progress and prosperity and make your nation the hallmark of history, can you lead a nation that will stand the test of time?




Hello and Welcome everyone to my new RP, 2016:A World on the Brink! As pertaining to the title this RP will take place in 2016. Create any nation that you desire as long as it contain realism and you justify it in your history; this is an extreme AH RP with much leeway when it comes to nation creation. With all the RP's I've done I've always liked AH instead of the norm. As an RP host I try to create unique RP's but I can only do so if you the RPer are not only creative but committed to the RP. As OP I only ask for your commitment to the RP so that it can live to its full potential. But before we get started here are a few pointers so there is a very general and vague guideline to play by as you create your nations.

Pointers in History:
1. Rome did collapse so that all these nations could come about, but the POD is from 1600 anyways so that's covered by default.
2. The American Civil war happened around the same time it actually occurred however the CSA is a nation and the USA turned into a nation called the AU or American Union(name is subject to change).
3. WW1 resulted in the defeat of the Central Powers, both the CSA and AU cooperated in this war for the first time in 4 decades. Germany was stripped of its overseas possesions, Ottomans were reduced to Syria, Turkey, and Iraq.
4. WW2 resulted in the defeat of the Axis forces, however, Japan experienced a coup which ousted Tojo Hideki in 1944 thus ending the Pacific theater reducing Japan to just Japan, Taiwan, and the Russian Sakhlin islands. The A-Bombs were used on Germany instead one dropping on Hamburg and the other on Cologne thus bringing the war to an end on 1944.
5. The USSR still launched the first satellite into space but the CSA launched one right after.Also the Korean War lasted for 5 years ending in 1955 which resulted in a Unified Korea under Kim Il-Sung due to actual Soviet along with Chinese intervention.
6. In 1960 a CIA-backed Coup installed the Shah in Persia and the 1979 Revolution never occurred thus Persia remains somewhat of an AU puppet state. Also, the Vietnam War was renamed to the Indochina war where the Kingdom of Indochina consisting of Vietnam,Laos,Cambodia, Malayasia and Thailand was split between Communist north and Democratic south. The South won due to overwhelming CSA,AU, British, and French support but the country remains split between the People's Republic of Indochina taking all the northern territory and the Kingdom of Indochina which has the southern territories. A joint CSA-AU peacekeeping force is still present there on the border.
7. The Cold War still continues today as the USSR hasn't completely collapsed but is near collapse, Reagan never initiated his famous star wars program speech.

History of your Nation (Please be very detailed):
The Aztec people endured many hardships as a people, being very nomadic and moving from one place to the next until as legend told them to settle on an island where an eagle rested on a cactus. Then did the nomads find the true place to call home. The Aztec tribe was very industrious and emphasized commerce and production. Beginning to expand rapidly in population the tribe soon needed room for their ever expanding population. The Jaguar warriors soon become the most feared band of warriors in all of Central America, conquering neighboring tribes such as the Toltecs and the Olmecs annexing them into their new empire or forcing them to become tributary states. Slaves worked for the new Central American Empire in the Salt fields dying from lung diseases and such.

For Europeans it was a time of exploration of the new world and soon Iberian conquistadores arrived at the shores of MesoAmerica. However, the Aztecs assumed them to be foreign devils and sent thousands of warriors to repel the explorers, upon annihilating the small expedition force of Iberians. They left behind their new technology of which the likes the Aztecs have never seen before, their elders and high priests soon began studying these new crafts and weapons soon trying to replicate their own versions. Iron swords were introduced and big sea faring crafts were constructed modeling after the Iberian crafts. Their influence began spreading eventually discovering the Mayan Civilization and forcing them to succumb under Aztec rule.The Aztecs soon began sending their own expeditions abroad, discovering the coasts of present-day California and as far as the Sandwich islands. First contact with oriental races was made when the Aztec exploration expeditions met the Chinese. Fireworks were introduced to the Aztecs who brought this back to the Homeland. The Aztecs used this explosive material and combined it with the ingenuity of the musket and began producing their own muskets.

After the era of exploration, the Aztecs used this new weapon to begin a new wave of subjugation. The Mayans were annexed into the empire and the Aztecs went further down into present-day El Salvador and Guatemala. The extent of Aztec rule was spread from the Rio Grande down to the jungles of Guatemala. Trade was established with the Iberians as Aztec merchant vessels reached the Iberian peninsula and uniforms were traded for raw materials. These uniforms were then brought back to the homeland and introduced to the public, a cultural revolution was under way. New European trends infiltrated traditional Aztec society. More and more people liked the idea of these European style clothing, music was also emphasized. European architecture was studied as Aztec engineers were sent to Europe to study abroad. As they came back they began to revolutionize the entire nation. By 1790 the Aztecs modeled all their cities after European architecture and mixed it with Aztec to make very unique structures. Religion was introduced to them as Catholic missionaries came to the Aztec nation in 1795.

By the 19th Century the Aztec nation was fully modernized but was under a primitive government style. The Emperor still ruled supreme and unchallenged; with modernization came new ideas. The people grew weary of one man making every single decision for them and unsettled about it. Many gatherings in public areas occurred and were brutally put down by the Emperor. After 3 major massacres the people took up arms and began a revolution in 1801. This revolution modeled itself after the French Revolution that stormed newspaper headlines earlier and excited the world. The fledgling young nation up north gave its support to the people after they to shared their pain with oppressors ruling over them. The people fought the Imperial Army battle after battle but in 1803 at the Battle of Zumpango Gorge the streak of defeats was broken by the Jaguar army (the people) against the Imperial army. Then a string of successive victories ensued which inevitably brought down the Emperor and his mandate in 1804, the Emperor was executed in early 1805 after a court found him guilty of war crimes and treachery.

In 1805 a democratic republic was set up, with the help of the Americans and created a constitution which modeled itself after the US's. First President ever elected was the leader of the Revolution Pachuti. President Pachuti organized the government and created a Congress and Supreme Court. He believed heavily in the principles of Jefferson and the idea of separation of powers with Checks and Balances. After setting up a relatively effective administration his next focus was setting up a running economy. The Aztec Republic relied on simple hunting and gathering but he felt it was time to modernize and update that system. Textiles, farming technology, and maritime industries were soon introduced with by foreigners. The first factories opened in the nation were owned by wealthy industrialists. By 1815 Pachuti won a 3rd term and still continued his economic reforms. Aztec goods and raw materials were introduced and sold on the international markets in 1817. Revenue began to flow into the treasury of the Republic; with a steady flow of capital the creation of the National Treasury came about in 1819. 1820 Pachuti lost the elections to Maztlan who continued more economic reforms but now overhauling like Pachuti's. He focused on infrastructure development builing stone roads, bridges, and docks. This was made to accompany the growing economy but instead nearly bankrupted the new Republic. In 1824 an Economic Panic caused widespread paranoia and economic uncertainty. People began protesting the Maztalan administration.

During the 1825 elections Maztlan won a 2nd term under very sketchy conditions. More and more people protested his election calling illegitimate and they accused him of stuffing the ballot. In 1826 Gen.Xaltoca staged a coup and overthrew President Maztlans and his administration. This was the beginning of a 30 year reign of terror for the young Republic. Xaltoca in the beginning won the peoples hearts and minds promising to rid the corruption of the elite and handing people over more control and autonomy in national policy deciding, also promising to begin elections once conditions were "appropriate". However, the economy began to deteriorate once more. The People began to question the promises of Xaltoca. After the foreigners fled the country during the violence, the few factories that were here were now closed, roads were neglected, and the military were given many policing powers which they used to bully the populace into submission. Xaltoca in 1840, destroyed many community schools in an effort to keep the population insolent. He also stole children to force them into military service and forced some of them to be sex slaves. Xaltoca raped his way around Tenochtitlan. He ordered his troops to massacre multiple Mayan villages and then created a secret police called the Leopards Force in 1844. By 1848 the people were once again fed up with tyrannical rule.
In 1850 another Revolution broke. This time it was turned Civil War. More bloodshed was added after the invention of the rifle and artillery instead of cannonry. Mutiple battles ensued and this war was equivalent to the American Civil War. By 1854 over 785,000 people had died in the war itself, the economy was in ruins and the nation torn. Local Warlords began to rule over small communities. By the Civil
Wars end in 1855 the country was ravaged.

From 1856 the road of reconstruction ensued. Political parties formed and various Presidents reigned to help various sections of Aztec life improve. Industrialization began after 1875 , when President Calanchca opened the Republic to many foreign investors. Factories soon sprung up everywhere and artificial clouds soon blocked the sun. The Aztecs referred to this as the Era of Steam. The creation of working class and the elite created a financial gap which manifested into class warfare. In 1892 when the entire nation succumbed to industrialization and the
Aztec people could move through trains from one end of the country to the next and send one message from coast to the other, strikes became a problem. The approval of labor unions because of good communications would coordinate with a labor union from Tlatetcoco to Xaltocan. Foreigners and wealthy Aztec industrialists didn't like this very much and paid off the State Police to beat the workers back to work. This idea of Class warfare plagues the country even in present day 1991.

From 1900 to 1914 the army was increased. All sections of it, from ground forces to Navy. In 1905 the army was 550,000 strong; this new army was used to invade multiple Central American nations. In the infamous Banana wars the Aztecs annexed officially Guatemala and El Salvador, along with Northern Honduras into the Republic. This distracted the populace from the domestic problems of the country as they saluted their boys for the glorious victories for the Republic. When WW1 began, the Aztec sympathized with the Central Powers during the war, sending them raw materials for the war effort. This brought about a blockade from the British which significantly strained the economy.
