Jenna kind of just shrugged her shoulders. There wasn't really anything she found to be fun, honestly. It was hard to find much fun when your body deliberately tried to make your life devoid of emotions besides crippling depression. "I just go through the days tasks then go sleep, really" She replied with a sigh, then turned to Joseph, when he spoke to her, since everybody was speaking to her. "Everything" She responded, finding that the easiest and most simple way to give an answer to that question, since she didn't really want to go into long detail right now. When it came to the party bit, she just said "This one was open to anyone who wanted to go", and then simply introduced herself. "Jenna" She replied, shaking his hand in return, but saying no more then that, or doing more then that. It wasn't an enthusiastic handshake, but it was clearly nothing wrong with him. Just how she did it.

Andrew shook the Giants hand as well. "I'm Andrew. Pleased to meet ya." he said shaking the Giant's hand. He also looked at the girl. "Everything? Bad day, week, month? I mean, if you lived more than to just go through the motions, life isn't so bad. Of course, I'm easily entertained if you take me horse riding, or something like that." Andrew was not one to be easily swayed to live a boring life. He also lived to make others lives if just only a little more fun. Then he offered his hand to Jenna. "Well miss Jenna, tell me, why do you chooses to just go through the motions? Why not make the motions move to you?"

"I don't know. It sounds like we need to get some colour back into your life. Something that'll get you excited about everything. And what else brings the kind of excitement that even a hobby doesn't bring, but food?"

He threw his arms out in excitement, his normal growly voice rising to an incredibly loud, barking laugh.

"So, seeing as this place is a boarding school, where's the kitchen? I, definitely not attempting to buy friends with one of my only real talents, am going to show you the beauty of the world of food, Jen."

He turned to walk in a random direction, before turning back to face them.

"Oh, and in case you aren't convinced, it'll probably be the least inhabited area right now, so we won't have to worry about dealing with something as disgusting as... other people..."

He shuddered briefly, before dragging back an unintentionally sadistic grin.

"So whaddaya say?" He asked. "You guys interested? Of course, you're invited too, Andy. I wouldn't just invite one of you while ignoring the other person right in front of me. And don't worry about my skill, either. I've never had many friends to distract me, so I can safely say most of my time has been put into improving my cooking."

His grin somehow grew even wider.

"I'll show you two a meal even the devil himself would envy!"

Liam stepped into the building late at night. His hair was an absolute mess, so he was running his hands through it. He had just awoken from a long car nap, as his mother and father drove him to the school. He was late in joining, due to another mental health concern. His parents had been growing concerned about him again, noticing that he was acting similar to how he had previous to his suicide attempt. After a few weeks of intensive therapy, Liam was ready to try this new school and meet new people. Therapy was too isolated for him, and he was growing restless.
"Bye Liam, call if you need anything!" His mother hugged him and left. His father just waved from the car. Liam nodded, waved back, and walked around the building aimlessly, half-hoping a staff member or student would come talk to him. The staff new he would be coming late, so he was already set up and everything, but he wasn't exactly sure where to go.

As she was waiting for a reply from her new friend, Erin took a quick glance at her phone. She noticed that the battery was about to run out. Which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that she didn't really know if she'd have enough battery to make it through the call; a problem made slightly worse just in case she had to repeat anything due to her accent. So she figured she could take her phone back to her room to let it charge up and ask if she can use his phone to make the call. I mean, granted her roommate probably wouldn't like being woken up but it was a gamble she was willing to take. "Hang on a second, bro." She said as she got up. "Just let me charge this up and I'll be right with you." And, with that, she started making his way back to her dorm so she could charge her phone. Fortunately, she bought a couple of adapters before she left New Zealand so she won't have to worry about being unable to use any of her electronics or ask people if she could borrow theirs.

Eventually, she arrived at the front door and walked into the foyer, where she came across a new guy, Liam. He seemed a bit uneasy, almost as if he was nervous about coming here, if something bad had happened or if he didn't know where to go. His hair was also messy, although he was trying to make it seem somewhat normal. And he was pacing around the place, which made her feel a bit worried for him So she did the only thing she could. She walked up to him and tried to instigate a conversation. Granted, there's a chance they probably won't end up getting along or maybe they won't talk much after this interaction but at least it'd be something "Everything alright, bro?" She asked as she tried to stand in a good spot so he'd hear her even if he doesn't make eye contact. "You look a bit... out of it."

Liam turned his head quickly, appearing rather surprised, towards the voice. He gathered himself quickly and pretended not to be surprised at all, looking around nonchalantly and flipping his messy hair. "Oh, uh, hi. I just got here. Just woke up. What's up with you? I don't know where I'm supposed to go. I'm Liam." His sentences didn't flow well, but he felt like he had conveyed his message decently enough. The melodic tone of his voice made anything he said sound better than it should, anyway. He held out a hand to shake, and silently hoped this person would be his friend and also help him find where to go.

At some point, Liam stopped pacing around and started talking to her, which gave her a small feeling of relief. While his sentences didn't flow well, which probably gave her another reason why he seems a bit uneasy, she was at least pleased she had gotten a response. So, when the time came for her to reply to him, she decided to break things down everything he said into easy to manage chunks. And the first thing she did was introduce herself. "I'm Erin." She said as she slapped his palm with hers, almost as if she skipped ahead to the "to the side" bit of a high-five. She didn't really know why she did that, other than the fact she never really liked doing handshakes, but at least it should make Liam feel comfortable. She then said what's up with her. "And nothing's up with me. I just came in to charge my phone up. I just hope I don't wake my roomie up." She would've also said something about him just waking up from what might've been a long car ride; however, not only did she not really have much to say about it but she also didn't want to end up saying the wrong thing.

Then she concentrated on helping him with where he needed to go. "And also, quick question seeing as you've just got here: do you have a dorm? Because that's probably where you're supposed to go. If you don't have one then see if you can spend the night in a hotel, which is what I did when I came over from Auckland. Or if you have friends or family over here, ask if you can spend the night with them." She then paused briefly and realised that it probably won't hurt to have a third person to join her and Connor. Or a second person to join her if it turns out he had left while she was away (or if it turned out that she was probably talking to herself). So she decided to take a bit of a gamble and ask him. "By the way, are you hungry? Because I was just going to order a pizza and eat it outside if you wanna join."

Wait... That wasn't a handshake. What?

Liam was briefly confused by the hand slap instead of having his hand shaken, but then decided it was cool. Erin sounded like she was not from here, so maybe it was more common to do that rather than shake hands where she was from.

He tried to recall whether he had an assigned dorm already or not, but his brain was still half-asleep and the information just wasn't accessible to him at the moment. Still tired, he slowly said, "I don't actually know if I have a dorm yet. My enrollment is set up, but I don't see any staff to tell me which room to be in. My mom might know though." The mention of his mom made him slightly embarrassed, since he was nearly a legal adult and still was needing his mother to take care of him and remember things for him. A faint blush tinted his cheeks pink for a few seconds.

"Pizza sounds good. I've got money if you want or need help paying for it. What's your favorite? I'll eat anything." Assuming she would agree to his offer of payment, he preemptively reached into his pocket, but put one hand in each pocket so he would not entirely appear to be reaching for his wallet.

"Sorry." Erin said, apologising for the weird hand slap she did earlier. She would've made an effort to explain it but, just before she opened her mouth, Liam spoke again. From the sounds of it, he was trying to remember if he was assigned a dorm or not. He also mentioned that that his mum might know, which gave her an idea as she tried to avoid paying attention to his blush just in case it made things worse. "Have you tried calling her? Or sending a text?" She asked, hoping that would help him out. "'Cause that's what I would do. If she doesn't know then I don't know either. Get a hotel for the night?"

And then he said he would be up for pizza and then he asked what her favourite is. "I'm vegetarian so veggie, I guess. It's pretty much what I get whenever I'm ordering pizza. I also like to have a nice sauvignon blanc with it, not just because it's my favourite white wine but also because it actually goes great with veggie pizza. But, seeing as you're not allowed to drink alcohol here 'til you're 21, I'd say we can just get a fizzy drink for you and a bottle of water for me." And then she noticed that he was sticking his hands in his pockets, almost as if he was getting his wallet out. She then held a hand out - not too far from one of his arms just in case he didn't like people touching him - and then said in a reassuring voice "And no worries, bro. I'll pay for it. You might have to call a place, though, because again..." She then waved her phone in front of him, turning it back on and showing him her low battery.

Liam nodded and pulled out his phone, leaving his wallet. He typed a quick text to his mom asking about the dorm.
Hey, sorry to bother you. Do you recall what dorm I'm in?

He clicked 'send' and then did a quick search for pizza places nearby. "Is Papa John's okay with you? There's a Pizza Hut too. And some weird little local place that could be good or bad... It's probably kind of gross, seeing as most small businesses are. They don't have money to funnel into improvements." He waited for her response, silently hoping for her to agree on his favorite, but not wanting to influence her.
While he was looking at the various phone numbers, he was thinking about what kind of roommate he might have. He wanted to be around someone who would understand him and definitely not smell like animals. Also, he preferred the thought of a roommate who would appreciate his rap music and skate too. He was trying not to get his hopes up, and just waited for his mom to answer him.

When she was asked where she wanted a pizza, Erin just shrugged and simply replied "You pick, bro." After all, there's not really any point in arguing with him over where they should get their pizza, seeing as the important things are if it tastes good, if they get what they ordered and if it doesn't make them sick. Besides, there probably wasn't a Hell Pizza around for miles, so she had to do with what she got. She decided to speak again just to remind him what she'd like. "Again, a medium veggie pizza and a bottle of water for me. And you get whatever you want for yourself." She looked over at the stairs, as she was about to go up them, then quickly back over at Liam. "I'll let you call, I'm just going upstairs quickly to charge my phone."

After that, she headed upstairs over to her dorm, room 23. Since she didn't know if the people in the dorms nearby were asleep, let alone if her own roomie was asleep, she decided that she should try and be as gentle and quiet as well. Besides, seeing as she was asleep for the afternoon and she didn't really get the chance to say "Hello" or anything before or after she woke up, she might as well try to get in and out quickly, saving the hellos for tomorrow. So she opened the door and quietly said to herself "Here goes." before stepping inside her dorm.

Deciding against turning the phone on and using it as a light source - because a) that'd probably waste the battery more and b) the light would probably wake her roomie up - Erin moved around slowly in the dark. She took baby steps, barely moving her feet in front of the other just so she doesn't step in or on something that'd make a lot of noise. However, immediately she realised that this was a bad idea, since she didn't really unpack a lot of things. Most of her bags were still on the floor, although fortunately out of her roommate's way so she wouldn't end up tripping on anything. Her walls were still fairly bare when most people would've stuck photos, pictures or posters up. In fact, the only thing she really put up was a poster for Bad Taste, one of her favourite films. But still that was something she could do tomorrow. For now, she was busy trying to find her charger in the dark.

And then came the thing she dreaded. Without realising it, her foot hit one of the bags in front of her and she fell forward, saying "Shit!" as she fell forward. Without realising it, she said it loud enough for her roommate to hear but quiet enough as not to disturb the people in the dorms next to her. The good news is that she managed to stop herself from making even more unnecessary noise from falling onto her bed. The bad news is that she still managed to wake her roomie up, either from the thud she made from walking into her bag or from the noise she was making. She looked around to make sure she didn't wake up her roommate, only to be greeted by an unfamiliar set of eyes. It was Willow, her roommate. "Sorry about that, sis." Erin said sheepishly. "I just came in here to get my phone charger." And, with that, Erin turned her phone on and used it as a light. She opened up her bag and pulled out her charger and an adapter for it, as her New Zealand plug wouldn't really work in an American socket. She plugged her phone into the charger, the charger into her adapter and the adapter into the socket and then carried on talking. "By the way, I'm Erin, your new roommate. I don't know what happened to your old one but they stuck me in here with you. Don't worry, I don't bite." Just as she finished speaking, she turned the socket on at the wall and looked at her phone, finally happy to see it charging.

Christian McGraw

"Harsh mistress? Well that's a new way to put it." Christian put that term in his memory for future use. After hearing yet another term to add, he did pick up on something of interest "D&D huh, I never got to try the game because in one of the sleepovers I was suppose to go to back in Boston I got indigestion for the entire weekend, I had a character all planned already and I got sick, damn food test, that's just a small story I wanted to share just so you know."

"Well in all honesty my fellow countrymen fail to see how Socialism could do some good, but no they're all stuck thinking how it leads to communism or how Russia is still a bunch of commies, well anyway, long story short, candidates this year. Shit." Christian ended his point there."Never heard of Norm Kelly, but he seems to be a good guy."

Christisn heard what Peter tends to read as he went through his box of books and picked up on something "I think I may have a few cookbooks in there, if I'm not mistaken most of them should be Asian cookbooks." Christian said as he heard that Peter would go through his box someday "Sure, just make sure to return those books."

After he heard Peter translate the words from French to English, he found out that his uncle was in the Air Force and they never made instruments out of spare parts which was not too surprising since aircraft parts were just as expensive as a few 100mm of DU armor "Considering he was in a band and the Air Force has a lot of time on their hands, it may happen and they may be filmed, I tell you it would go viral real fast."
