Born in Burlington, Vermont, Scott was born to an abolitionist family with anti slave views. Like most other Vermonters he grew up in the highly rural area of Vermont, and had to hunt for a living. He was reputed to be the best shot in his village, capable of mustering shot after accurate shot against a target a fair distance away. Other than that he had a fairly unremarkable life, until he was accepted to West Point. As a die hard abolitionist he did not exactly fit in well with most of his other classmates, and was often called a "negro lover". He was captain of the school's shooting team for a while, but otherwise he finished unremarkable. Finishing 23rd out of a class of 64. He later spent one year in the US army before the Civil War broke out, as a proud Vermonter he petitioned to be transferred to a Vermont regiment. The petition was accepted, and he was appointed leader of the 1st U.S sharpshooters, due to a general lack of other suitable candidates.

Did you mean Company F?

I'm not sure how I feel about the 1st Sharpshooters, mainly because this is squad based combat and the Sharpshooters weren't really soldiers that held the battle line.

I would appreciate it. There were other units designated sharpshooters or riflemen (such as the Bucktails in the sample application) that were armed with repeaters and fought as standard infantry so you wouldn't have to change much.
