Building, 7th Floor

Torii bolted right past her two friends and nearly tripped again. "Hey, I think it's this way.", She started, not bothering to slow down. "Hurry!"

She reached Insidious and came to a screaching halt. She was clearly worried. "Does anything need moving or setting up?", She asked, panting. "Is it safe here? Where are the injured people?"

Her knuckles whitened around the stock of her weapon.

Sozewe practically flew into the trailer, and quickly whipped around to face the monters, should they attempt entrance. He wasn't privy to being devoured, and he knew that he could give them hell if they so much as stuck a limb inside.

For a moment, he glanced back towards the reptilian and Romulus. "So, what's the plan? Abort or no? We're not exactly facing a household pest here.", He said. "Not really working in our favor right now. We can find a way to victory, however."

Maghrl padded in after Romulus, slowing his ridiculous pace down to a walk once they were safe. As he approached the short alien had sheathed and replaced his saber on his belt with a little fumble with the later part. He looked like he was getting pretty tired, which made sense due to his use of the force over the last few hours. He still had plenty in him but it had taken a lot to keep up with the group on his short legs. Good thing Squib were naturally fast runners, but Romulus was definitely an exception to most humans. He was human right?

Then came the screech in his ears, making the Squib hiss in pain from its proximity to the sensitive organs inside. He shook his head and sighed, scratching the back of his head with a frown as he reached out with the force again to make sure the monsters weren't still after them. He didn't think so, but he did feel the forest still burning and dying. It was a horrible, gut wrenching feeling. The slow death and withering of life in a continually growing area. The Squib was feeling so much death of so much concentrated life, both flora and fauna, that he decided it would be best for now to shut himself off, turning his senses inward to not have to bear witness to such devestation.

Maghrl grimaced as he glanced up at Romulus, but kept quiet for now. There would be time to voice his concern over the General's disregard of life later.

For now he had a question of this being called Meps. "Psionic, Meps says? Maghrl not much familiar with term, what be yes?" He asked of the little lizardlike alien. Was it something like Force Sensitive? Some force users could speak through their minds after all.

A robot and a Cat arguing? Absurd.

"Well, I happen to hear a few residents on the other side of the blocked up doorway. I think they're there, and not outside the window waiting to catch a potentially falling person. Though I do agree, a rope made by Kale may be a good thing, but I think she's exerted herself enough alongside of her injury. If she passes out would all the plants stop their cohesive efforts? I don't know her as well as you probably do, so I'm genuinely asking here."

As he spoke with the cat(something Sakarias was still getting used to, the concept of talking with a housepet), the Synth continued to work. The magical calm that fell over them made the Synth take a deep breath into his artificial lungs, built in filters to the dust collecting it and letting it go through his systems. Okay, whatever that was, it was nice. He redoubled his efforts, creating a pile off to the side for all the rubble.

"How's everyone doing, if dust is getting to be too much and you have a shirt on, put it over your mouth and nose. It can act as a primitive sort of filter for large particles like dust. I believe. Sorry, its been a while since I last went through proper disaster drills and training."

----

Out in the Hall

Out in the hall, Sterling nodded and didn't go at the pile so aggressively but changed his focus onto one area to build a tunnel. He supported the upper part of the rubble so it didn't shift, pulling it upwards with his magic. That alone dislodged some of the looser debris to tumble down now that they weren't held in place by the weight of further up debris. A small divot began forming in the pile, as he scooped up rubble below his held up part and pushed it to the side. The pony made sure to not block up the hall as he did so, instead forming neat little piles of the stuff.

Hey, his talent was organization after all, it was something he did naturally.

The calm was most welcome by the pony, familiar with similar sorts of spells among his own type of magic. Spas were well known for enchanting things to bestow such a calm on patrons during their stay, for example. His expression shifted to a determined one instead of a panicky one, and as a result he actually managed to make his magic more precise and less frenetic due to worry.

While the others were talking, Otonako had managed to clear enough rubble so she could climb on top of some more stable looking rubble and get a good aim at the door.

Fighting through difficult emotions Otonako groaned and kicked the door with her left leg, she didn't want to use her right leg too violently when it had just been healed. Her kick hadn't been strong enough to break the door down but it had been strong enough to dent it slightly. She was badly balanced, although she was standing on the stronger rubble, and she fell backwards as a result.

"Sakarias, you just said that you could hear people outside, I heard them too," her voice shook a little, "If they're coming up with a plan to get us out of here and we get some more people to break down this door we could get out faster. Obviously that's just a suggestion though."

Her hair changed colour several times, she couldn't help it, her emotions just kept getting to her.

Rmwtyliin, meanwhile, felt rather helpless. She had some medical training - would it be enough, now that it counted? Would they move the rubble in time for it to start counting?

Would she even remember? Fortunately, Anais summoned a Spirit of Soothing. Rmwtyliin's facial muscles relaxed, almost imperceptibly - I can handle this. Walking to Giovenith, the girl decided to spend the time reviewing what she knew - and, or course, helping with smaller rubble. That brought another possibility to mind. "Is there anything we can use as wheels? If we could get them under, big pieces could be rolled away."

The rabbit atop the redhead blinked suddenly large eyes and waved his ears in opposing circles, trying in his own absurd way to add to the calm from Anais' Spirit. Smoke twirled away in both directions, clearing the hallway's center slightly for a couple of feet.

Cannot help with big pieces. Can eat smaller ones. Need to be ready to jump any injured to super bright white make well place. Only one of MB.

Ever fastidious, MB gave Dora a disgusted look as the sweat on her forehead soaked into his fur and pushed off, leaping to the floor. For her part she ignored it, instead turning back toward Rmwtyliin, Giovenith and Marcus. The cyborg was probably the strongest out of all of them, and she nodded to each of them in turn.

"Marcus, can you help move some of the larger pieces? I can handle the head-size chunks. Luce is going to cool the area down a bit while we work." She pointed forward at where the bespectacled man was doing just that, starkly yellow eyes sweeping up and down, left and right. MB had scampered up next to him. Sitting on his haunches, the rabbit sniffed the air.

One cat. Communist funnygirl. Naked plant girl. Someone who smells like gun oil. Someone who smells like purple. Four other smells, not know. No blood smell. Yet.

Dora frowned as she tried to decipher the WordArt-like description the rabbit had airwritten. Nick, Tora and Kale were obvious. Gun oil could be anyone. Smelling like purple...? Well, it was beside the point.

"Let's go," she said simply, and picked her way through the disaster area toward 7E.

MB disappeared in a red and blue flash, aiming to get closer to the purple smell. As luck would have it, he did, and the rabbit made a four-paw landing on Insidious. He peered upside-down into her eyes. Any hurt here in your group?

Trembling hands cradled the databall as tenderly as a grandmother holding her newborn grandchild. A lump rose in Meps' throat. She swallowed and pressed back the sudden emotional onslaught that threatened to overwhelm her. The lizard's eyes closed. Graceful fingers caressed the orb before lifting it to press against her forehead. Salvation. Rescue. Hope.

She projected her thoughts aloud once more, only they seemed to curl themselves into colors that swirled across the lizard's body but also inadvertently caressed the listener's senses if they were open minded enough to see it. Chromesthesia, though gentle, none-the-less conveyed the depths of her pangs. "T'was a failed Gate. We were to evacuate, but-" The lizard paused as the deep blue coloration intensified to midnight black. "No chance. We set the Gate to destruct. Couldn't let Them in. We had to reroute. And it was a blind jump."

Clever claws deftly pried open a small slot along the orb's surface. Meps slipped a tiny tool from the pouch tethered to her waist. "We landed here. We couldn't risk the Outermark."

The adjustment was simply a matter of poking the tool into a hole. A reboot of sorts. Yet Meps pretended it was far more complex. Each passing second graced her with an opportunity to plaster the crack that had formed in her mental wall. The mundane person can shut their eyes to block out a violent moment. They can stop their ears with their hands and scream to prevent the invasion of sound. The psionicist had no such counter measures. She experienced each death as though it were her own.

Nila had turned her head away to offer a sense of privacy to the lizard. It was construct law. However, the surface thoughts were all too intensive. Her golden eyes darted to the side to lock onto Romulus' own. The folds that framed the construct's eyes bespoke pity rather than doubt and suspicion. She turned away to supply Maghrl with an answer.

"She's Eudadoti," the construct's ears dipped to indicate respect for the race. "They are part of the Convocation. We know them." She pressed her fingertips to her own throat before adding, "They don't have vocal cords."

Seeing that the lizard remained absorbed by her "difficult task", Nila shrugged and continued. "'Doti evolved psionic abilities. They can vibrate the stuff around them. They control any function the brain controls, hearing other people's thoughts, scanning the memory of other people and sending thoughts directly to other people's minds. But that is taboo. Very forbidden by religion and law, and by Convocation law as well. So they use their ability to vibrate and that generates a sound. She's thinking sounds into the air to talk to us. We're hearing the vibrations." The construct's ears perked. "You should visit their homeworld, Jedi Maghrl, yes. To walk there is to see all the rainbow colors, and to hear joy set your chest to flutter."

Meps grunted and bit down on her tongue's edges. The crack threatened to widen. There weren't rainbows on this shithole planet. The only vibrations were the damn predators running towards their kill. Fuck this place. No more thoughts on this matter. Fix the ball. Go home. The tool's point slipped into the tiny reset pinhole. The databall flashed.

"Is good," Meps chanced, and was relieved to see that her skin stopped betraying her grief. She forced it to lighten into a swirled pattern of cheerful blues and greens.

"Delta Team, do you copy?" Myra's voice, now at a more tolerable volume, implored the team to respond.

"It's about time," Button's growl rolled through the earpieces. The exo, far too large to fit into the trailer, had perched herself atop it to serve as lookout.

Myra wasted no time, "Hush! Listen. We have to do an extraction. Like now. But there's an emergency at the Building. We can't pull a fresh team. You guys gotta do it. Dweezle can Transition you. Same process as exit Gates. Databall does the work. Do you copy?"

Soft clicks rattled from the Doti. "That will hurt like fuck." She placed a paw across her snout in apology for the laughter. "You are not going from A to B. You are going from A1 to Ax. It's called "Doing a Slippy". It can be dis-"

"The heck is that?" Myra's voice cut in as the databall transmitted the sounds in the trailer.

"Eudadoti Mepsidadelti Heltamip," Nila chimed.

Silence.

"Third of the Fifteenth, Outermark," Meps pressed the databall into Romulus' gauntlet-clad hands once more.

"My god, they found Omicron Team?!" Myra sputtered, "Alive?"

The mental crack blistered and Meps' wall split. She turned away and buried her face in her hands.

"Mission?" Buttons, as coldly efficient as ever, didn't give two fucks about any missing team. They had their canisters. They had their orders. Now was not the time for Gatejumper reunions. Not when more pressing matters were arising. "Sozewe... our household pest problem is about to become more complicated."

The exo atop the trailer bristled as her scanners picked up something far larger that the spiders. Heavy footfalls sent aftershock ripples through the puddles nearby.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

Moving rubble made quite a racket; between Kale-numbings, the cat had been making efforts to cover his sensitive ears somewhat. Wincing, he pricked them towards the door.

There they are! The voices weren't distinct, but hearing even a little was reassuring. "Okay, that changes things!  Otonako, maybe you should still -"  Sakarias had said that the rubble was holding up the ceiling.  Kale's vines were too, but...she was looking a little drained.  "Never mind.  We're using the door. Is there anything I -" He was most useful supporting Kale, still.  He tapped her uninjured leg again.  "Never mind."

(It occurred to Nick that , while he lacked a shirt, his scarf might filter somewhat; it was promptly pawed over his mouth and nose.)

Something felt like something...something... Nick couldn't pin it down.  "Something's...something...might happen in a few minutes, guys.  Please dig faster."

Elka, a strong-legged Reil, heard Otonako's attempt to break down the door and hope that others would join in; having managed to free herself, she hopped over and kicked.  A rather large dent formed; more notably, one hinge seemed to have loosened.  Unfortunately, the bare foot in question would presumably be quite sore at best.  If the injury was in fact that minor, there was presumably a chance that Elka could repeat the feat with the other.

The cat seemed to have gotten into the habit of pointing out the seemingly obvious. "Does the doorknob work?" Even if suddenly accessible, it probably wouldn't unless the rubble was cleared away from the side it opened towards. (Most likely, that was in fact Elka's apartment.)

Torii couldn't wait. There was small rubble, big rubble...she tried to remember who's apartments were where. There was Kale's; Torii's stomacb sank. She didn't hesitate. She jumped towards the scene, next to the younger girl, and grabbed for a larger piece of rubble, pulling it away. She could at least try to save someone, if she couldn't heal them. She's save that for Insidious and Giovenith.

She wished they didn't have to meet on such a condition. Torii missed her best friend - her crush - and Marcus - her "brother" - a lot. She tried thinking happy thoughts about them and her other friends to keep calm while she got to work. She listened to Dora and MB nearby, trying to make out what the rabbit said. MB communicated in a funny way, but he was also smart.

"Communist Funnygirl? That's me...right?", She asked aloud. "Plant Girl" was easy, and just what Torii didn't want to hear. That, and "Cat" made all her worry turn into more panic and fear. Nick and Kale? She had just seen Nick, and Kale...

"Are you in there?", Torii tried calling out, pulling back on a large chunk of wall as hard as she could. Her boots dug into the pile to give her leverage, and she was actually moving the piece, though a larger person could have easily done better.

Otonako turned to Elka and smiled, still lying on the floor:

"Nice!"

For some reason Otonako couldn't get her head round, she felt a lot better and more controlled. "Maybe it was the kick that did it?" she thought. Her hair flashed blue for a second or two, it meant that she was feeling positive and relaxed.

She heard Nick asking about the doorknob. She looked but she couldn't see it. She reckoned the door only needed another kick or so.

"I can't see the doorknob, Nick. If what you're saying is right then we're probably better off kicking the door down, unless it knocks in the ceiling. It's our fastest way though. I'll go ahead with it, if the ceiling falls make a run for it, I probably won't knock it down with one kick. Check for dust, then we'll know if the ceiling's going to collapse."

If she kicked and it wasn't hard enough Elka could finish it with her other foot, that or she could get it herself as Elka had already hurt one foot. She got into position.

"Kyaaaa!" She yelled, kicking the door with as much strength as she could summon. Some panels on the door broke a little, not wide enough for someone to crawl through though.

She turned sharply as she heard Torii,

"We're here!" She called, "I think we've almost got the door!"

Sakarias smiled as he saw the door as well, and shifted his focus from digging to physically holding up the little tunnel they were making. He pulled up, the dust falling rapidly. "How's it going, getting through the door?" The synth asked with a grunt, at this point shielding the few working on the door from dust with his heavier form. "Once you're through, get a move on and to help, I'll be the last one out. Most resistant to crushing and all that jazz. Though please make sure to take my violin with you?" He asked, gesturing to the dust and plaster covered case set up against a pile of rubble.

"We're here. We've made it to the door but it might take a bit to get through it!" Sakarias called out through the rubble as he looked back at Kale. "Nothing too bad in here injury wise, but Kale's being strained holding up the ceiling."

Sterling backed off now that it seemed obvious where the people were, his ear twitching as he heard those talking through the slightly exposed door. Hopefully it was the same bit as they had exposed, as otherwise it might be a bit hard to get through. "Oh be careful!" He called to Torii, his magic pulilng a bit more of rubble away from the door so they could escape a bit easier. The pony was glad Torii was taking the lead when it came to this, as he had no idea what else he could do other than getting all the dust and rubble away from the people inside..

"Do we have anything like stretchers on hand? We may have some people with leg injuries on our hands with all the rubble everywhere."

Maghrl's ears focused on Nilla as he was explained what this llizard being was, nodding in interest and his eyes wide. Such an interesting species! He'd have to talk with her more sometime, learn about where she came from and what she could do. Maybe even some friendly bartering of information! Always the best kind of bartering was that where people learned of each other as well as for items. It'd been months since he properly bartertraded with anyone anyway! Not that he had very much to trade, been a while since he'd gone scavenging.

"Maghrl visit Dotiworld someday, yes yes. Of course only if Doti let Squib, would no wanna break customs of Doti withoout know so." He nodded, smiling lightly at the construct as he felt the pang of another thing slowly succumbing to the fire spreading through the jungle. So far it wasn't really getting close to them, but the Generals careless use of his sword was leading to a whole forest dying. He wanted off this planet as soon as possible.

"Oh no, no spiderspids, please. Lets gogogogo!" Maghrl cried out, tapping his boot rapidly against the floor as he waited for them to mention their plan of escaping this moss covered rock of a planet. It was such a terrible dangerous world, plus they already had their hydrogen, which was the goal all along.

Anything would be better than facing down more spiders that size at at least.

The General simply watched at first as the lizard did her graceful work on the databall, though Romulus could quite clearly tell that Meps was very relieved to had have the object in her hands, as it was obviously both her line of work and her finally arrived salvation from this death world. His senses witnessed her projected emotional chromesthesia as well, and her explanation for why she was here and alone was very well felt by Romulus. He could relate to her actually... But only to a certain degree that probably didn't even reach the threshold of horror and isolation that poor Meps experienced. While Romulus is alone in being the only Wilhelm Imperium citizen to have walked in Demens' domain, he at least is in good enough company. Meps on the other hand had been alone here in almost every meaning of it, expect with beasts looking to eat her around every corner. He felt bad for her now, a bit horrified even.

He turned his head towards Nila when she began to explain Meps' species, interesting he merely thought. He then noticed the flash that then came from the databall, probably indicating that Meps was already done fixing the ball at an impressive time. The General was further relieved to hear Myra's voice again in a much better and smoother quality then previously, thank Wilhelm for not that again! He was concern now of course about what exactly was happening back in the Building, but their current mission was accomplished by now and they'll no doubt find out for themselves soon enough once they were done with whatever else they needed to do.

As soon as the databall was handed back to him, he felt heavy footfalls somewhere close outside, it was definitely time for them to leave! "Alright no time for anymore chit-chat! Myra, Delta has supplies and assets secured, we are a go for transition." He then maneuvered his hands to make sequences with the databall to initiate a call for Dweezle. He then looked at Maghrl, Meps, and Nila. "You three! Help me get a hold of those containers and carry them. We can't afford to have any of them get lost on transit or because we forgot them, make sure you have them secured." He spoke in a commanding tone to them, then turned quickly towards the Exo and Sith. "And you two! Make sure none of those things get close to us while our evac is taking place, keep this area as clear as possible!" He then tried to move around the shack to grab a container himself.

Otonako looked round at Elka,

"My feet hurt but they'll be ok. I'll get the door, could you get Sakarias' violin case?"

Alright, here she went. "Guys, I'm gonna go for it! Leave Sakarias till last, he'll make sure everyone's safe. As soon as this door's down, run for it and help everyone on the other side! Kale, do whatever you have to do. If you're going to keep trying to hold the ceiling up then good luck!"

She positioned herself again, she knew she would have to hit hard, they didn't know how long they had. "C'mon, go for it."

She kicked as hard as she could and she stayed on balance this time. She heard the sound of success as the door fell.

"Everybody out!" She yelled, running through as fast as her legs would carry her.

"Don't look back. Check if these guys are ok. Nick, Kale and the others will be fine."

"Hi! If you haven't met me yet I'm Otonako. Are you guys alright?" She introduced herself.

Had the Spell of Soothing not been in effect, Rmwtyliin would have been extremely upset to hear that one of her closest friends in this reality (admittedly not saying that much) was stuck in a severely damaged apartment.  With it, she reacted in a rather levelheaded manner.  Kale could take care of herself pretty well; today, Rmwtyliin was grateful for the huge difference in their capabilities. "We will get them out, or they will..." She turned to Sterling. "Leg injuries? I can splint, and bandage, and you should let me. You are all more helpful in other ways." Left unspoken was the fact that Rmwtyliin herself was emphatically not.

She moved another brick as Duncan (the apparent naked mole rat in a shirt pocket) translated.

"We're through?!" Nick's first impulse was to run for the entrance. Sternly, he squelched it. If nothing else, Kale possibly was the only reason the ceiling hadn't fallen already. Help everyone on the other side... Kale would promptly feel his mild concern and irritation, as he renumbed her. <Medical people> only are out there! Except...

Part of the reason that leaving had been an impulse was his having heard his friend. Torii isn't medical. She's probably here to rescue us...right?

"Torii! It's Nick!" Relevant. Even he wasn't that familiar with the collar's voice yet. "We're mostly okay! You are too, right?" The yell might result in wincing on the others' part and did, in fact, result in Nick himself cringing. He really hoped that it had been loud enough.

---
Hall
Duncan had barely started translating, but Rmwtyliin had noticed Otonako's bandaged leg. Not sterile. Donning gloves, she glanced at antibiotic ointment, disinfectant, and clean bandages. But...stopping bleeding was important. It seemed stopped. It could restart.

"Giovenith, I doubt her bandage is stdehrl - but it is working. Should I wait to change it?" (There would, however, likely be a delay while Duncan finished translating Otonako's words.)

"I sense that. You wish to. Maintain the. Illusion that I. Am alive," Opa observed, turning toward the door as little metal arms emerged from its back to disconnect the charging wires. The android made a hasty exit, following Thaddeus out into the concrete hallway.

"My concern for. Your health. Is perfectly efficient," the riot robot clarified, "You do not. Function. Efficiently. When your physical. Or mental health. Is compromised. You should get. Rest and Proper. Food."

Yet, somehow, Opa couldn't shake a nagging feeling that grew deep within the core of its processor. First of all, Opa wasn't supposed to have things like 'nagging feelings', except when a bug or some kind of error was found deep within the lines of code that danced in its brain. But, more importantly, this 'feeling' reminded it of its old Master - of Sister Gull.

Damia Gull. Home.

It perplexed its processor. All Opa had ever wanted - if desire was something that could be applied to such base and unfeeling, servile machines - was to perform its duties, to serve the Confederation. Yet, it sensed that such achievements were too small and petty to satisfy Opa's ends. That the robot had ends to satisfy was equally-troubling to its processor, though the desires could not be coming from anywhere else. It wasn't like any other part of the metal beast did any thinking.

"What is needed. Of me?" Opa tapped Thaddeus lightly when they came to a stop, "Perhaps I can. Help move the. Wreckage and. Free any. Survivors?"

In the Boy's Hands

Sentia cocked her head, the undead feline staring, unblinking, at Marcus swept her up. She didn't much mind being scooped - in fact, she didn't notice at all. She merely stared into his eye and meowed in affirmation of bringing the Godling along in the evacuation.

She liked her. Sentia wasn't quite sure why, but she liked her.

And as they departed, the cat continued staring at Marcus even as she curled up in his arms and awaited safe haven outside the Building. Something about the boy was familiar. Perhaps it was how his five o'clock shadow aged him several years, his weariness leaving him looking much like his father.

Titus used to like to tell Septimus, with some amusement, that the world "rhymed". There was always a man and a woman, each caught up in their own lives - each reaching out desperately to the other for some kind of solace, some kind of understanding in an unkind universe. And there were always those moments that brought them together. Sentia had observed this without understanding, merely curling up in her corner to eat the food that had been reserved for her as she watched the weary researchers pour over data long into the night.

The boy and the girl rhymed.

She blinked.

Building

Giovenith knelt next to Rmwtyliin and tried to think quickly. It was a high pressure situation, but they need to act quickly and intelligently.

"She's just going to get contaminated again if we stay here," the godling told the princess. "We need to hurry and patch people up just well enough so we can get them out of here, we'll worry about the rest later. Focus on making sure they don't bleed out. Come on, I got something..."

Paper birds began to pour out of her pockets with the plan of using them to carry people out.

"Something collided into the Building!" Giovenith yelled back to Marcus. "There are people hurt but alive, we need to get them out."

Kale concentrated all she could on making sure the pillars kept the ceiling up. It seemed the longer things went, the more likely it was gonna collapse. Silently she wove her magic, restrengthening the pillars and vine ceiling, keeping the roof from falling as the others worked on their escape. The soothing spell helped greatly with her concentration, but it took a heavy drain on her and she worked silently on keeping it stable.

When the door was finally busted down, Kale gave a silent command for her plant person to move her out. "Everyone... please, let''s go..." she said in a more strained tone. The plant person carried Kale out of the room, into the hallway where the group that came to help them stood. "Please... let's move off this floor. It's not safe here..." Kale said, still worried about the ceiling. The falling ceiling might cause a chain reaction. None of them were safe. "I'm fine... tend to others and let's go..." Kale finished, thinking of Oto's wound before falling silent again as she focused on the ceiling.

"Are you sure you're ok Kale?" Otonako looked over at her and was told to keep still. "Dammit, this wound stings like hell right now."
"You sound exhausted. You did a great job back there though."

Otonako looked up at the ceiling, dust was falling. She was told to hold still again.

"Guys, I'm not sure how much longer the ceiling is going to hold, it looks like it could fall any minute."

She was told to keep still a little more harshly this time. She decided to space out into her own thoughts while she waited for Duncan to heal the wound.

"Do penguins have knees? I'm not sure... I wonder how Aquario is getting on. He's probably worried... Let's think about something else... Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the cake shop! Oh come on Irizari, that was dreadful. Hmm... What caused this explosion anyway?..."

Otonako drifted so far into her own thoughts that she almost didn't feel the pain anymore...

"Owwww!" Well almost...

Insidious - Floor 7

Insidious shook her head at the teleporting rabbit. “No I can’t hear or see Aegis or Primordial. So unless their dead somewhere around here I doubt they are present. MB is there anywhere I should be? You probably know the situation better than I do, what with the teleporting.” Insidious squinted through the haze of plaster dust and made out the shapes of a few folks tending to Otonako. “I have a few shots of ReAnima primed to resuscitate people. Is there anyone dead or looking like they might soon be?”

Nick moved with Kale, more or less.  He justified it with the fact that the mage needed the support.  However, the second she reached the healers and he'd renumbed her he made a beeline for Torii, running up and rubbing against her legs.

Otonako's wrong, she's here to help!  Speaking of Otonako.  He dashed to the healers.  "You should check Oto's - er, Otonako's - head, she didn't notice the loud announcements.  Said she's a light sleeper..."  That done, he scampered back over, wheezing from the exertion. He was near Insidious as she queried MB. "Nope!" And wasn't that a relief.
---
"Kale!"  Rmwtyliin pronounced the relieved exclamation almost correctly.  She looks like she might faint.  The person, now being pointed at by a cat saying something about heads, was correct about that.  Not good!  Can I do anything?
...I fainted when we arrived.  The nice nurse - One of Kwa'a's friends I think -  gave me some food.  Okay, food.  Where can - my lunch!

Excitedly, she removed a glove and dug in her skirt pocket, pulling out a cloth bag with a peanut butter sandwich, a few apple slices, and a teabag.  It was messy, but edible. "Kale, please eat this.  I think there are some nuts in the coat if you need more."  Remember, I have to get MYSELF food soon.  If I faint someone else is distracted.
---
Elka followed soon after, fleeing the scary situation.  It would be fairly noticeable that she needed some medical attention, although less so than Kale: both feet and legs were heavily scratched, and a toe on her dominant hand's side had broken.  Her muttered "ow"s might clue the healer group in. They did catch Rmwtyliin's attention; looking torn, she glanced between the skirt pocket still holding her lunch and her acquaintance's bare feet.
---
Adri exited 7E after the Reil, diffusing out and over to her sister.

Sterling tapped at the floor worriedly, and as he saw the door break he rapidly grabbed the shards of wood that were going through the air with his magic, before safely moving it away from everyone. "Is everyone able to make it out of there? There's some pretty grievous looking injuries..." He mentioned to those near him as he shifted his focus to holding open the tunnel they'd made, the whole pile starting to glow a bright blue from the aura of Sterling's magic. The pony was still pretty calm but getting anxious again, unsure of what else they could do to help people get out faster.

"Oh man, Kale sounds like she's pretty tired. Someone make sure she gets out of here quickly. She needs rest."

The pony was getting a bit winded himself with how much he was doing, spreading his magic to the surfaces he could see and feel through his magic inside the apartment, taking over for Kale to make sure the last of the group got out.

Soon enough a strange looking humanoid who seemed to have robotic parts came out of the tunnel made. "Everyone out? Its gonna collapse very soon." Sakarias said, looking down at the violin case that he'd grabbed himself rapidly once he saw people start getting through and some sort of sheen taking over the weight he had been putting on himself to keep the tunnel open. The synth was looking a bit worse for the wear, more of his outer layer had chipped off, a wicked dent was in his head only partially covered with his hat, and the synth's servos seemed to be laboring more than normal as he moved, likely choked with dust and making his movements a bit slower than he'd like.

Sakarias had noted someone else who seemed to be cybernetic, and he blinked in surprise. Was he one of those people he'd been told to contact about getting himself fixed up? That could be good, he definitely would need some repairs and cleaning out after that.

"Is she hurt, then? Her head?", Torii replied to Nick. Head injuries weren't good. Torii didn't even know how to do much else beside splint a limb and treat bleeding. Sill, she felt like she needed to at least be there for her comrades, now that everyone was out. Otonako and Kale needed help, and Sakarias didn't look so good either. Torii hoped he was alright.

She backed off and took a second to breath, then moved to regroup with the injured and healers.

Kale could feel a change within the room, an easing of tension within the plants. she looked to see Sterling using his magic, his horn glowing brightly with use. He was assisting in helping her hold to roof up. She could feel the strain lessening within her, the plants not requiring as much attention and care as before with Sterling's help. "Thank you..." Kale said to the unicorn.

Her focus shifted to Remilia, who was trying to help her. Snacks to keep her energy up. Kale gave the girl a strained smile. "Thank you..." she said to her, taking the sandwich and apple slices. Her energy was depleted from all the use, so she took big bites into the offering, wolfing them down. She felt a bit better already. Though, her focus never shifted from tending the plants. She didn't want to leave sterling doing all the work, so she multitasked between eating and holding up the roof alongside Sterling. It was less work for both of them. Plus the snacks would help her go on for longer.

7th Floor

Otonako had completely forgotten about her head but now that everyone was drawing attention to it, it started throbbing.

"I don't think it's anything too bad. I just hit my head on something... Wait... The last thing I saw before Nick spoke to me was a chunk of wood flying through the air. Maybe it hit me on the head and caused me to collapse? Yeah, I think that's right. I'm ok though honestly..." she trailed off. The pain was getting worse.

She put a hand up to her head, "OWW. This freaking hurts! Ok, calm down. I should ask someone to have a look at it, I know I have a lump. I mean, I won't be of much use to anyone if I pass out now will I? "

"On second thoughts, maybe it is a little important that I get it seen to. Just to make sure there's nothing wrong with it," she rubbed the lump on her head as she spoke. "Hurry though, without magic I'm not sure the ceiling will be staying up for much longer."

She looked at everyone worriedly, "Please don't let anything bad happen to us, I didn't plan on dying today. C'mon Oto. You'll be fine, pull yourself together! Yeah you're right. Still, I'm like really into, you know, not dying so if I could not die today that would be great thanks."

Insidious 7th Floor

The Luxan nodded at Nick thanking him quickly before leaving to help. Insidious walked over to Otonako her lith naked flesh stepping quickly and deftly over the rubble between them with a small satchel under one arm. Her skin was a lava lamp of hues and shades that changed and shifted through a host of red, white and grey symbols. Pulsing red cross floated across her stomach while silvery serpent like shapes coiled across her arms.

“Greetings” she said to Otonako “I’m Insidious are you Otonako? You seem to have a slight head injury do you mind if I inspect it?”

It was less of a question and more of a statement as Insidious raised a bracelet made of glowing crystals and gems to Otonako’s head. The crystal hummed mechanically before Insidious sighed. “Doesn't look like anything too serious. Here take one of these pills,” she said handing her a bottle marked “Painkillers” in black ink “and hold still while I bandage you head.”

She pulled out a large bandage from her bag which was soaked in disinfectant, painkillers, and other healing balms and began wrapping it around the woman's forehead in the most comfortable way possible.

“Is this alright?” she asked towards the end “Anything else I can do?”

As Insidious approached her, Otonako recoiled slightly. She'd seen tatoos but they didn't even compare to Insidious' skin. "I thought my changing hair colour was weird. Imagine how weird it would be to have colour changing skin that changed pattern like that! Actually, that's pretty cool."

Otonako kept silent while she wrapped a bandage round her head. She pretended she was fine with it but deep down inside she felt embarassed, like a dog wearing a cone on its head.

At the question, Otonako immadiately looked at her right tight leg.

"Well there's always my leg injury... I'm not sure... I kinda blanked out into my own thoughts for a bit... I think it's been looked at and properly sorted out by that guy over there, sorry I don't know his name, the rodent one. I'm not entirely sure though," she told her.

"Dang, I really need to open my eyes and ears more!" she thought while she took the pain killer.

Rmwtyliin smiled.  I helped.  With that, she moved onto Elka, disinfecting and wrapping the older girl's feet and legs.  She went a little overboard, in fact.  While the bandages stayed put, they soon resembled a pair of casts.  If nothing else, the feet were shielded from further harm and the broken toe was splinted.

Her stomach grumbled.  Reflexively she reached for her pocket - Lunch. Need gloves -   For her stomach at the very least felt the time had come for that.  Kale.  We need food.  Those trapped are in shock.  Most of us are probably hungry.

I have done everything else I can, right?  My pocket nuts probably cannot feed even me and I should get out of the way.  Maybe I should ask Giovenith if my leaving is okay?  Giovenith!
Rmwtyliin's eyes widened.  She tapped the godling's shoulder excitedly.  "Do you have another feast in your majigk pocket?  I think we all need food."

---

If Nick were not being soothed, he might well have climbed Torii like a tree.  As it was - I'm still medical personnel.  From a position as cuddled up to Torii as had been possible, he glanced guiltily at Kale.  And Oto.  And Elka.

They were being treated.  Maybe if they had painkillers...until then, he was part of the healer group.  He was proud of it...

He didn't want to leave!  <Maybe.  Maybe!  Torii, I need to do healer stuff/numb people.  Will you come?  Please?>  After a moment for her to think it over, he jumped down.  Dashing through the dust with a few more coughs, the cat addressed Insidious, who seemed to be in charge.  "I can numb people.  Tell me if I'm needed elsewhere - I'll head to..."  Wait, now that Kale wasn't holding up a ceiling, whose injury was causing the most pain?  "Actually I'll alternate for now."  He let out a wheezy sneeze.  Scarf or no scarf, the dust was taking a toll on his little lungs.  In fact it was very fortunate that he didn't communicate vocally - some moments later, while numbing Elka, he tried to meow in enthusiastic agreement with the rodent-carrying girl's suggestion of food, and found himself hoarse.
