Menelik Palace
The Empire of Ethiopia
Amha Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia
January 1st, 1950
Emperor Amha Selassie overlooked the front yard of the palace as he saw the palace water fountain shoot the lines of water into the tub, and the sprinklers water the front lawn with a smile on his face. Seeing the front of his palace every morning was soothing to the Emperor as it symbolized even in the face of growing problems, beauty can still be achievable. He soon turned around to the sound of a door opening into his office as he met gaze with his secretary. "They are ready for you Emperor", the secretary says as Selassie nods and makes his way into the hall. The palace is decorated in the most luxurious of decor that one could expect to fine within a governmental palace ordered by a Emperor. Portraits of past rulers lined the walls with cleaning staff on duty during the day to make sure dust is never an issue.
Selassie soon reached a rather large room with chairs seated around a long wooden table, situated with chairs all around. In those chairs was the members of his private privy council, as well as some of the wealthy elite of his nation. He soon made his way to take a seat and one of the men spoke, "Good morning emperor, I trust you got a good rest" said the man. The emperor turned his head towards him looking sleep-deprived, "Of course, I always do." A force smile was given for pleasantries, but the emperor was deprived of rest with the struggles of his position and of his nation. This was going to make for one of his regular meeting he host with his privy council, to which they talk about the issues of the nation and come up with a plan, but somehow the plans never go quite as expected. With the threats of many of the lower peasants taking the communist ideology to heart, the emperor sunk down into his chair and prepared to hear the arguments of today which he knew would amount to nothing.
"Let the upcoming of the world...begin.." The emperor said.
