My puppet client? I don't have any, France has been reduced to its 1797 borders (and then some, it doesn't control the Belgian coast). Although it seems Austria is very hostile to France in this RP so if you would RP as Sardinia-Piedmont then I will probably back you if you should try to unite Italy.

Probably for the best, as the Mughals are more or less defunct at this point. Plus, we need someone playing Italy.

I think it would be a lot of fun having someone try that. But just a heads up the current French government is not going to support Risorgimento unless it feels threatened by Austria, so you may have to do a lot of the work yourself. Future French governments may however be more openly supportive of the idea and throw some muscle behind it.

Okay. But France doesn't really have much reason to support the Two Sicilies in that endeavor since Sicily is both Bourbon and too far away from Austria to be useful to France. Plus the French tries to get along with the Pope who presumably would be the first victim of a Sicilian attempt to unite Italy.

1) Actually, one of my first IC posts would to overthrow the bourbon tie, the king himself is a distant relative and he is eager for French support in uniting Italy, mostly because austria itself holds a few Italian lands. And also, the pope will allow to be pope as long as he hands over the papal states to the king

Well France will support the Pope's desire to keep the Papal States intact. Not with arms probably (but maybe) but certainly diplomatically. France's (potential) support for Risorgimento is based on a French desire to drive the Austrians out of Italy. Sicily can't easily due this as it is so far south from the Austrian regions.
