History: Essentially the same history as we have it now. The only exceptions being that in 2003, an agreement was signed between the Belorussian and Kazakh government to essentially join the Russian Federation as states, operating independently for the most part, save large legislative matters, economic, defensive decisions, etc. As 2014 rolled along and the events in Crimea occurred, it was clear Russia was involved, albeit discreetly in a proxy war. Rumors were brewing in the Duma that Putin and his associates (cronies) were plotting for more action in eastern Europe (i.e Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland). It seemed as though Putin sought to bring Russia to it's former glory of his days in the KGB.
