The bit of the post I'd written so far, had my character in that town, avoiding the more crowded areas for various reasons. Like not liking throngs of people, inevitably getting pestered by random strangers, and stuff like that.

Well, I was thinking about making the guy who ran away one of the former members of my character's guild. After my character will recognize the guy, he will attack him. So if your character will arrive only then, it will look like my character is the bad guy, attacking someone else.

To correct the earlier statement, people can be hurt in towns, they just don't die, or actually loose health. Getting hit still hurts, though.
