"Today the Coalition Parliament passed the Taiwan restoration bill, heavily influenced by the marshal plan after world war two by the united states the law fund's billions of P.A Credits (Pan-Asian Common Currency) to rebuild the infrastructure, economy and military capabilities of the Republic of Taiwan. Most experts say that this is due to the recent Taiwanese elections in witch the Pro Asian Unity party claimed victory and witch this bill is the first step into integrating Taiwan into the Pan-Asian Coalition"

Škoda global headquarters, Plzeň, Bohemia, Czech Republic.

"Madame," began Johann Schmidt, "we are very happy to report that the acquisition of Škoda Auto went perfectly as planned. After last night, we control... let's see... seventy-one percent of its stocks. Our cash reserves are now badly stretched, of course."

Kateřina Novotná smiled.

"Wonderful, director. As for the cash reserves, I would not worry about it. We are still turning large profits, after all."

She smiled, looking at the photo of her father.

"Škoda is finally complete. Now's the time to begin our... shall we say, clandestine projects?"

A week later, an unnamed beach in Baja California, Californian Republic

Operator Svoboda was holding a meeting with... a bunch of criminals?

Why, yes, those were actual criminals, the guard realized. What was Mr. Svoboda doing here, with these people?

"Hello, sirs. I am Emil Svoboda, Operator of Škoda Auto, region three," the Operator introduced himself.

A round of introductions went around. Well, "introductions" in which Emil Svoboda was the only one to actually reveal his name. The various goons of the Sinaloa Cartel did not exactly trust this suited man from New York just yet.

But Emil knew that these goons spoke for the Sinaloa Cartel and these goons knew that Svoboda was speaking for the Škoda Works. That was quite enough.

"I believe," Emil continued, "that Sinaloa Cartel had to hide from public authorities long enough. It is time that you seize what is rightfully yours - domination of your trade routes and the right to conduct commerce in this corner of the world however you please."

He paused for a second to readjust his seat. Svoboda lived in the north all his life and the heat of Baja California was getting to him.

The Sinaloa Cartel definitely didn't think to prepare air conditioning for these negotiations.

"To do that, however," Emil finally spoke, "you need the Californian Republic to... shall we say cease existing. To disappear into the desert dust from which it came. So, it appears that we share a common enemy. We both want the Californian Republic to disappear."

What Svoboda didn't mention was why Škoda would want the Californian Republic to disappear. The reasoning was quite simple, actually. The Californian Republic decided that their defense depended on their exo-suits, assault rifles and drones. These were not Škoda's specialty. Škoda needed a Californian Republic that defended itself with what Škoda did sell - tanks.

Since the Californian Republic wasn't going to change their mind, the Californian Republic had to go. Or they at least had to feel so threatened that they were going to change their mind.

What better way to do it than to support the enemy of the enemy? The Sinaloa Cartel?

"As you realize, the Škoda Works possesses many weapons. However, we cannot fight the Californian Republic. As an upstanding, law-abiding corporation, obviously we will never dare to challenge the public authorities of a state. On the other hand, you, which the Californian Republic treats as criminals, can easily find a million excuses to fight our common enemy. The solution, then, is clear."

He paused for a minute. The words sunk into the thick skulls of the Sinaloa goons.

"It occurs to us that TS Plzeň a.s. has placed all its old KP vz. '27 and KP vz. 36 assault rifles that we're not selling anymore in a holding facility in Nevada, waiting to be melted down. It also occurs to us that the warehouse is where we store all our old Škoda tančík vz. '41 and Škoda tančík vz. '47 that nobody's buying anymore. Now that I think about it, all our LT vz. '46 are all there as well. Nearly a quarter million old rifles, ten thousand armored cars and six hundred light tanks just sitting in this warehouse doing nothing, since nobody wants to buy those old models anymore. Hmm... isn't that just a hundred fifty kilometers from your cell in Sacramento? Oh, I wonder what the heck we're doing guarding such an important warehouse with just two unarmed guards?"

That was so obvious, even the Sinaloa goons got it.

"Let me guess," one of them finally said, "you want us to attack your warehouse, seize all the weapons, then fight the Californian Republic with it."

Emil Svoboda smiled.

"I never said such a thing," he said to the goons, "no... no... why would we even want you to attack our own facilities?"

Svoboda's words denied it, but his smile and his nod implied that yes, that was exactly what the Škoda leadership wanted them to do.

He waited for the goons' response.

The Škoda Works realizes the great potential both our corporation and your country stand to gain from such a partnership. As the new center of Asian economy, clearly it would be beneficial for us to move our Region 2 Headquarters to Tokyo. However, do note that as we need to negotiate for the purchase of a suitable building, it may take some time.

Similarly, the Škoda Works will begin constructing more factories on the territory of the Pan-Asian Coalition as local demand for our industrial and consumer products increase.

May our co-operation last!

Another week later, Škoda Auto secret lab, Novosibirsk, Siberia, Russian Federation

"Impressive..." the engineer muttered as he looked down at the behemoth from the railing. It was practically a bunker on wheels. Škoda Auto's latest and perhaps most ambitious project was close to fruition. It was developed for several years by engineers from Škoda's other subsidiaries, but now, with Škoda Auto's motorized expertise at hand, it could finally be produced. Just one more week and its design would be finalized.

It looked like a rounded rectangle. Perhaps two and a half meters high, of which half a meter was taken up by the tracks. Several meters long and wide, with a sleek, curved steel-based carbon alloy armor covering the weapon systems inside. The angles were very low. Anything other than an artillery strike or air raid was as likely to bounce off as actually cause intended damage.

In just another week, Škoda těžký tank vzor 2055 would be released to the market. It was quite literally a moving fortress, all controlled by one driver within.

Bucharest, Romania, the Balkan Union

The meeting was finished after countless hours of debating, arguing and stalling. Really, it felt like hours. Fortunately, almost all issues were resolved. The constitution of the BU was drafted and will be put in official use the next day. Montenegro stays a state within the Bu with no merging with Serbia.

It was also decided to start expanding the BU, starting with Moldova. A official letter has been sent to the Moldovan government. Moldova has always been the poorest European country, as it is today. The great war damaged the nation's already puny economy. The Moldovans and Gagauzians also fear of a possible Russian invasion. President Nikola Altus has expressed his desire to include Moldova in the BU as quick as possible. The excuse of Moldova revitalizing its economy with funds from the rest of the Bu states might just work for Transnistrian Russian politicians, who are rumored to already turning their heads east.

The Council has decided not to include Hungary because it would never really work out since the Hungarians aren't considered Balkan and probably wouldn't like to join a union of such states. Cyprus is put into further discussion.

It was decided that the BU will soon start working on relations with Turkey. A potential trade partner and ally.

President Altus considered all that as he was driving to his home in the suburbs of Bucharest. Though he misses his smaller house back in Osijek where he lived before. A lot of things went through his head. An alliance with Turkey still makes him uneasy. Thankfully, he's close friends with the vice-president, Greek politician Spyridoula Echthrós.

"At least I have some support.", he thought. "I've seen the faces of the other members of the council. Half of them see me as a newbie, a quack, a sharlatan. Just some hippie pacifist who wishes to rain on their parade. Well, I was the youngest in the room. But still..."

He had no idea what the future holds.

Republic of Turkey
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti

Chapter 1: Sabır Acıdır, Meyvesi Tatlıdır - "Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet."

Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey

Armed guards slammed shut the doors of the gargantuan mosque as the last few straggling members of the Council of Turkey took their seats under the golden dome of the Hagia Sophia.

Dr. Faruk Gökay, a brilliant Turkish physicist, surveyed the oligarchic council which had governed Turkey for nearly twenty years now. The twenty men and women came from a wide variety of backgrounds: there were generals, admirals, wealthy billionaires, scientists like himself, and nationalist politicians who had risen to prominence after the dissolution of the Turkish parliament following the 2038 Rising. All of them had been voted into power by the members of the Gizli Yangın, the conservative -but Kemalist- secret society which had orchestrated Turkey's reinvention twenty years prior.

Gökay stood, letting all in attendance know that the day's session was about to commence. "Order!" he cried. "Order in the Council!"

Slowly, the the murmuring of a half dozen different conversations died down, leaving only a silence which seemed oppressive under the gaping dome of the mosque. Gökay cleared his throat. "Now that we are all settled, we'll begin. We have a variety of issues to cover today." An almost imperceptible nod was tipped in General Necip Candemir's direction. Candemir took the cue and withdrew a dossier full of papers from beneath his seat. Calmly, with the authoritative bellow of a man who had spent years in command, he began to read.

"Yesterday, Kurdish protesters along a stretch of the D85 Highway north of Diyarbakir essentially stormed onto the highway and halted all traffic there for hours on end, as a protest against the recent Foreign Extradition law. Eventually a local paramilitary group came down to the scene of the protest and got into several fistfights and altercations with the protesters. All of the paramilitaries were armed, as were a few of the Kurds. Within half an hour of that local police came in and diffused the situation, making ninety arrests. I'm not sure how both sides managed to avoid a gun battle or a massacre, but they did. Now the cities of Van and Diyarbakir are swamped with protesters. A small few are even calling for a renewed war of independence."

"We crushed them twenty-five years ago!" Someone shouted. The quiet was shattered by fierce debate; it seemed the generals and nationalist leaders wanted to put an end to any Kurdish ambitions, through violence if necessary, while the Business faction lead by the billionaire Hilmi Apak and Gökay's own Science faction opted for a more conciliatory approach.

"We should send in tanks and let them protest that!" growled Candemir.

Apak shook his head firmly. "A fifth of my employees at SolCorp are Kurds; that simply won't do. We should send in a representative to negotiate with them, to see what exactly it is they want besides the removal of this law, which as you all know I never supported." The other prominent businessmen in his faction voiced their support for this.

"Why not do both?" Said a voice through the chaos.

Nineteen heads turned to regard a twentieth, that of Erdem Remzi, a young politician from the Nationalist faction that had only been elected to the council six months prior. Most of his colleagues had served for at least five years, while the faction leaders had been in power since the Gizli Yangın took control of the country. Remzi was indeed very young to be on the Council, not yet thirty years of age.

"Speak up boy," grumbled Ahmet Ergün, the leader of the Nationalist faction.

Remzi obliged. "Well sirs, let us send someone to negotiate with them, but roll tanks to the edge of the city all the same. And move troops to the southeast. And let the Kurds know in our negotiations that we are fully prepared to use those troops. Let's not be hasty and start a war by shooting up protesters when we could disperse them with a few words spoken from their own leaders. By the same token, let us show our strength. Let the tanks serve as a sharp warning, not a crude hammer."

Ergün nodded. "All in favor, say aye."

Twelve 'ayes' sounded off, and eight nays, most of the latter coming from the military faction.

Apak smiled, pleased it would not be the Turks who initiated war. "That is settled then." His expression darkened. "But what about Cyprus?"

Candemir was on him in an instant. "Deploy a large force in TRNC territory. Show the Greek Cypriots we hold the fate of their island in our hands!"

This time, Candemir was received much more warmly. This concerned Turks, and how to best protect them.

Gökay, as ever, was cautious. "Let us not forget that Greece is a member of the Balkan Union. If we are not careful with Cyprus we will arouse the anger of the Greeks, and if they are angry enough they may just drag the rest of the Union down into war. We cannot afford that. Let us approach them with a trade pact, so that they will not be as suspicious of our planned troop deployments into Cyprus."

This proposal was put to a vote and passed 16-4, making it official policy of the Turkish government to deploy troops to Cyprus.

"Oh," said one of the businessmen. "Who's going to negotiate with the Kurds?"

All eyes turned to Remzi, who responded with an uneasy smile.

President Nikola Altus,

Our nations have been growing closer economically in the past few decades, and we feel that, in these days of uncertainty, it would be best to tie our economies closer together with a mutual trade pact. This would allow the Balkan Union to more ably access Turkish oil and wean itself off Russian sources. In turn, Turkey would obtain freer access to Balkan coal and agricultural products.

Sincerely,

Gen. Necip Candemir,
Hilmi Apak,
Dr. Faruk Gökay,
Ahmet Ergün,

Representatives of the Turkish Council

Diarchs Mohy Verda and Sumna Uqrez,

Our alliance has been tested once before, but we are pleased that Libya has come through its recent civil war relatively intact, allowing it to return to normalcy. In these days of darkness and uncertainty, Turkey feels it necessary to reiterate its pledge of friendship to the people of Libya and Egypt. We are wary of Israel and what they might do in the name of self-defense. We are wary of the Russians, who have rebuilt themselves so completely. There are many potential enemies and our nations must stand together against them.

However, there are also many potential friends. There are countries in the region which could be forces for peace and stability in the Mediterranean. In order to better pursue these nations, and to attract them to us, we propose that Libya and Turkey become the founding members of the Mediterranean Coalition, an alliance devoted to maintaining stability in the region.

Sincerely,

Gen. Necip Candemir,
Hilmi Apak,
Dr. Faruk Gökay,
Ahmet Ergün,

Representatives of the Turkish Council

“READY TO GO SIR!” Captain Rex* yelled.
“GOOD, NOW WHEN WE GET OVER THE CITY, THE LIGHTS WILL GO ON, AND WE’LL ALL GO OUT FOUR-BY-FOUR, ALRIGHT?” Commander Aedt asked.
“YES SIR!” Rex replied.

“Ry, the troops have secured Culicán.” Danny reported.

Riley stood shocked.

"Wh... What?!" The President exclaimed.
"...What...?" Danny replied.
"When did we order them to take over fucking Culicán?!"
"Last... Week... You're telling me nobody told you this?" Danny asked.
"Yes! Well, no! Wait... Nobody told me!"
"Jesus Christ. How did nobody... I figured that Jacob or somebody would tell you... Wow."
"Fine, fucking fine. I just hate that I had no idea this was happening. Anyway, how'd they do it?" Riley asked.
"Well, they simply dropped a few thousand suited men into the fray, right on top of where we knew their headquarters was. I'm surprised it was this... Easy... Or at least quick. There there fourteen casualties, and three hundred of the enemy, the rest were just captured. They're being brought to San Diego to be interrogated as Tijuana has too many Sinaloa members to be secure." Danny said.
"Well. They must be pissed." Riley said.
"Oh yes, oooooooh yes. But the good news is we also arrested a few leaders in LA and Sacramento."
"Jesus, Sacramento? They're active enough to be caught in the fucking capital?"
"We, just last week, arrested some in Eureka..." Danny said.
"Jesus H. Christ!"
"Yeah..."
"Fuck. We need to invade."
"Fucking told you so."
"God... I guess we'll buy some urban armor from Škoda."

"Oh, here they come..." Captain Rex said, looking into the sky at the dozens of small armored tanks being parachuted into the plains around Culicán. He'd been helping hold the city for nearly a week, and now the military was finally working with them. The Sinaloa in the downtown area had all been captured or taken out... Or found dead... And the rest had either escaped to the suburbs or, as was the case for a lucky few, outside the city to Chihuahua or Sonora. These tanks would help keep the populace occupied, and without any murders on the street they might actually be thankful! Or at least he hoped. He was educated, and knew that no matter what, occupied people never liked their conquerors until they realized the benefits. Once Sinaloa was hooked up to the infrastructure network they'd realize how great limitless electricity and less car traffic was.

Jesus they'd been abused here. He'd had at least three dozen men and women thank him so far, so at least somebody saw the Californians as saviors... And there were children up for adoption too. What a small army could do in a few weeks, huh.

This one seemed nice. He was a friendly guy, unlike the other Californians he'd met. He'd take him out to ice cream and to get food and then for a walk. It was great to have normal conversations with someone. Someone who wasn't trying to beat you to a pulp. He could handle the pain, and never told them anything, but pain was always worse than ice cream. Honestly, this guy treated him better than his "friends" back home. The conversations they had were fun. Man his mind was messed up from so long without anyone to talk to. He'd talk about girls and families and work and places he always wanted to go and places he'd been before. This guy had been to Italy! What a cool guy.

"Aww, just send it."

Where the Pain ends and Rebuilding Begins

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Life was hell here. For the entire state of Louisiana, 500 men had been deployed to lock the southern states down and occupy the area. Private First Class Edward Jones had been here fro two years now, and had more than once been ordered to put down a insurrection. It was as if these people had to clue the military could do what it did. It was even worse when the Colonial military from the Moon arrived.

" The colonials are an odd bunch, but the one thing that really freaks me out is that, for the most part, they don’t see the difference between “America,” and US-Allies. Like, to them they’re here to sort Earth out and tie the whole rock together under the stars and stripes. The crazy part is, no one’s really stopping them, their working groups have done a better job at running the South than the last pile of crooks we propped up, and the Louisianas actually seem relieved to have someone in charge who isn’t a complete loon. I talked with one of the colonials yesterday, huge girl (guy? Hard to tell with them), said she was from Richmond, apparently they got one on the Moon too. Sounds like they’re gonna be pushing south to New Orleans soon enough, I cut my teeth there during the Civil War back in 43’. I'm wearing armor roughly the same as what I had back then, but this gal is rocking hardware that I though only spooks got access to; between the armor and the angelfire, our guest from the colonies are turning this occupation into something else. I keep hearing rumors from the front lines... huge refugee camps being set up to house all the people running from fallout and angelfire, forced relocation programs, and mass deprogramming of brainhacked soldiers and civilians. And eveytime you bring up the push into Eastern Texas, the colonials always end up talking about Mars for some reason. I sometimes worry that they think Earth is nothing more than a breeding ground for new colonists. With the occupation, came the colonial decentralization of the government, and with the election of one of those Wet Backs to President, things have been improving for them while we suffer here. Word is we've begun a massive infrastructure project here and all over the States.

" War, War never changes. With the possibility of war in the North between Canada-Quebec and the rising tensions worldwide, the Second American Republic is declaring an embargo of all Helium-3 from the Moon and will soon be officiating a No-Fly Zone over Quebec, hopefully, with this, we can find a peaceful end to these conflicts. The Second Republic will of course be selling Helium-3 to those who absolutely need it, for higher prices then usual.

Phase One: Destiny
Siam, a great power in the former world, was once struck down by many foreign powers, robbing it of so much land. They were weakened, seemingly, beyond repair. But slowly, the nation rebuilt itself under the name of Thailand. It looked glorious and the future was shining bright, the fire of the peoples patriotism was lit. But then it happened. Society collapsed. Chaos broke out. Nations succumbed to internal unrest. Every nation struggled. But as they started to get footholds, some started to grow stronger. Such was the case in Siam. Now, the empire as been rebuilt, with less land, though still much more power. The economy if flourishing, industry booming, people well fed. Agriculture was an ever important part of Southeast Asia, but now Siam had no problem with food. It had a huge surplus, feeding all its population and many of its neighbors. It reached the top of Southeast Asia. It seeked to grow bigger, as was its destiny. The world was waiting, waiting for Siam to rise above its former limits. It was time.

Škoda Power hereby announces that following the new restrictions on helium-3 sales placed by the United States government, closure of nine older Škoda power plants using said isotope as fuel have been planned for. The remaining four will instead be converted to deuterium plants, using technology from our more advanced fusion plants. Residents of Quebec and New England, which the plant closures will affect the most, should expect higher electricity costs and short supplies. Škoda Power apologizes for any inconveniences thus caused.

The Škoda Works strongly urges the United States government to resume the regular production and sale of helium-3 from the lunar regolith.

The Pan-Asian Coalition officially condemns the move by the US to close off a very important energy source to the global market, during the economic instability the world is facing now it should not be acceptable or any nation to hinder the global economy. Fallowed by this announcement the P.A.C is investing 4 billion yen into a special program (witch any nation witch is friendly the the P.A.C is welcome to join) to open up new sources of helium 3 so the US will no longer have a strangle hold on the market.

"4... 3... 2... 1..." The massive speakers blared, after another second the engines exploded into life, instantly propelling the massive fuselage into the atmosphere. With smoke billowing out of the thrusters which slowing vectored the force to the side to initiate a gravity turn. It took eight hours to reach geosynchronous orbit and five hours later "elevator orbit" was successfully achieved. Mission Control back in the Mojave celebrated, and there was a small party among them. The rocket's shell fell apart and revealed the payload. A massive satellite orbiting directly above the Galápagos Islands. The solar panels unfolded and the structure lit up. A cylinder on the bottom opened up and out slowly came a long line... Being assembled by invisible forces.

Riley was glad his parents couldn't have afforded that Siberian Husky. Ever since he was little, all he ever wanted was a husky puppy. Siberian, specifically. For some reason he never was interested in Alaskan types. He was lucky that his parents had gotten a Cockilier, which was a mix between a Cocker Spaniel and a King Cavalier. But the lack of what he really wanted, a Husky puppy, along with his love of dinosaurs ever since being a toddler, gave him the drive to follow his own path while CEO of RyRy Industries.

He had decided to turn birds into dinosaurs.

He started with a rhea. Then gave it the digestive tract of a vulture. He gave it the incredibly developed legs that would be usually attributed to dinosaurs. He made the embryo keep its claws and teeth, and made the beak less horny through careful manipulation. Its puny wings were turned into muscular arms. Its tail was kept long like that if an embryo, and Riley did all that he could to give it a hugely intelligent mind. It took several "generations" (although in reality the original reahraptors didn't get to breed at all) but by 2035 he had come up with what he called "his dream pet". The reahraptor was never sold, only bred. An intelligent, roughly turkey-sized bird that was almost a full dinosaur. Oh Jesus. He was good at his job. He personally had six in his home, and there were another sixty on the Farallon Islands and three hundred on Angel Island. Both were fed and watered by humans, and they were effectively a domesticated animal. Riley got chills just thinking about it. The fact that he had made dinosaurs. Sure the Russians had made a mammoth. The Chinese cloned pandas, and the Americans had banned all GMOs. But he, he had made fucking raptors. And these weren't the stupid fucking Jurassic Park velociraptors which were actually Utahraptors, no, these were birds that were mostly just stopped in development as embryos. While the rest of his company gave California the tools she needed to survive, he made dinosaurs. While he was the President and near absolute power in the country, he always remembered to feed his raptors.

He had had them since they were babies, newborns just hatched. He'd trained them, made them learn commands, made them like an avian dog. He wasn't disappointed.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The drone whizzed through the air and reached its peak altitude. At roughly three feet long and only thirty pounds, it was invisible to even a telescope at fourteen thousand feet. Its main weapon was its camera, which usually would simply scout out the area or relay info back to the controller, but this time it was a small, but incredibly deadly, laser powered by carbon nanotube batteries. The batteries kept it light enough to fly high yet it still packed enough deadly force to kill a man (or several) from nearly eight miles away. This time, it was flying over the new headquarters of the remains of the Sinaloa leadership. It had identified the three highest in command there, and the laser positioned itself to kill them.

Uut.

One down.

Uut.

Two.

Uut.

Three.

"Huh. So the U.S. won't give us Helium 3 anymore. Not like the did so anyway... Well, all the more reasons why other nations won't question our motives in space. He just need to make it to the moon relatively quickly and nobody will question us." Riley said.
"Yup. Just tell Dario we need some shit to get done and soon. Nobody knows about our little thing in orbit, at least nobody who cares, and if we don't have a big public something then people will begin to ask why we have rockets in the first place." Danny said.
"Alrighty then, I'll get on that. Looks like we are sending some robots to the moon."

"Rex!" The commander yelled.
"Yes sir!" Captain Red said, stiffening into attention.
"I need you to take your men and secure Costa Rica, Eldorado, Obispo, and Cosalá. It shouldn't take more than a few days, and I'll give you today to ready up. You know the drill, try to capture any Cartel members, but if they use too much lethal force, take them down. We'll send crews out after you return to fortify the villages, and then we'll send out garrisons. Hopefully once the reinforcements come from Cali we can finish this invasion."
Rex let that sink in for a second or so.
"Yes sir!"
yee haw it's time for mass line

Volksraad, Kimberly, The Afrikaans Commonwealth

"...And that is why we should avoid buying imports from Skoda"

The voice went silent, and all was quiet until the thunderous sound of applauding from all corners of the room erupted. Senators from all four major parties - The Voortrekker Partei, The Suid-Afrika Volk Partei, The Republiek Partei and the Groen Partei were clapping furiously following the young president's first speech in the Volksraad; he'd pulled it off flawlessly, quickly constructing a concrete case about why they shouldn't buy from Skoda. It wasn't their at-the-time unknown shady takeover of Skoda auto, or the equally unknown supplying of rebels to attack California but a more pressing concern - for years now, Afrikaner automobile manufacturers had grown concerned about Skoda; their imports rivaling their own and thus had piled pressure on the governments in Kimberly and elsewhere to place charges for any vehicles to delivered by Skoda.

It had worked extremely well, with all the legislatures fixed in agreement over the issue - the prevention of imports from Skoda coming into effect around 24 hours later. The ban didn't merely affect cars, but weapons, military equipment and potential anything they could produce - all in the name of protectionism. It would also enhance the Afrikaner concept of self-sufficiency, something that they thought was crucial to the state.

Škoda Works Region 1 Headquarters, Brussels, Belgium

Director Johann Schmidt was displeased. Very displeased.

The annoying Afrikaaners were adopting socialist policies again. This could get... very bad, actually.

"Well," he finally spoke to his patient secretary, "if we can't sell our goods within the Commonwealth, there's no point to running factories there. Close them all down, until further notice."

He thought for a minute.

"No, wait, never mind. The Afrikaaners has been quite hostile lately. They might try to do something funny. We need to do this carefully."

Then he thought for another minute. Finally, he announced his orders to his secretary.

"Instruct the local directors running Škoda subsidiaries within the Commonwealth to fire all their local workers. Effective immediately. Then evacuate foreign personnel. Any foreign experts, engineers, managers, negotiators... get them all out to Cairo and Nairobi. There are Škoda facilities there - large ones - so we'll use those cities as our safehouse. Evacuate all material also. All our steel reserve, raw materials, heavy machinery... even the steel beams in the factory walls, if they can tear it apart. Disassemble everything and ship it to Nairobi."

The damn Afrikaaners might try to seize the delicate machines, came the thought.

"ah... One last thing. Our South African facilities also manufacture munitions, right?"

The secretary nodded.

"Distribute those as soon as practical. Instruct the men that if the Africaaners try to seize the machinery, just blow it up. I'd rather have everything in ashes than give our technology and expensive machines to the Commonwealth. Just have the men stuff a few explosive shells inside everything before transporting them so that it can be blown up even if the Commonwealth troops try a lightning operation to seize the machines."

That should do, he thought. In 72 hours, All of Škoda's assets would be safely stored in Cairo and Nairobi... Or blown into little bits of tortured metal and plastic. Frankly, either option was fine. Come right down to it, the Commonwealth was a market they could afford to lose.

The CEO will still give him hell about it, of course.

Volksraad, Kimberly, The Afrikaans Commonwealth

'We've received reports that all 3,000 workers of Afrikaner, Coloured and Black origins have been sacked from Skoda plants throughout the country - they also seem to be... dismantling the plants and loading the 'cargo' as we speak"

Such a report sent howls of anger throughout the Volksraad, the very foundations shook with the rage of a Zulu warrior who'd just slaughtered a soldier in battle. Strangely enough, the President seemed calm considering the situation - 3,000 workers represented a tiny number of the population, a good number of these had been trained by Skoda in manufacturing techniques etc and to top it off, their expertise could readily be used to grow Afrikaans industries. Still, the thought still lingered - what on earth were they doing? They clearly were transporting something, maybe... blueprints? Currency? Resources? etc, the potential list was endless.

As such, ANSF humvees - heavily upgraded and utilising further upgraded mounted TOW missile launchers were dispatched within half an hour of the Volksraad receiving the news. Crewed by five soldiers each, with the goal of destroying all trucks transporting Skoda materials.

Which is why, they got onto the numerous factory grounds when the trucks were being loaded...

Of course, they'd give them a chance to surrender...

Union State of Madagascar
Antananarivo

"....Skoda was banned from Afrikaans Commonwealth? We can get into them now..."

President James Alibannez, gave the speech about the importance of extending influence into Southern Africa, which is underway and will be successful, had it been not for the refusal of the Afrikaans Commonwealth to join the union. So far, revolutionaries had been popped up at Namibia and Botswana, enough to remove their current governments which are not willing to join the union state of Madagascar. Revolution Enterprises isn't happy about that, and for years they had tried to supported the revolutionaries to success, except for the ones in the Commonwealth.

"....With this however, we should extending too, to the African countries near Madagascar as well, as well as to use our military sometimes, the use of the military after all, is to show our prowess, thank you and have a good night."

The speech was televised to the whole country, which bares nothing good or bad to the hearts of the Malagasy and the rest, as they had been content with their current life with enough water, food, healthcare, and welfare.

Perhaps, tomorrow, the government will enact new program for the new era of prosperity in Southern Africa.

General Ramo Hellangkambang, the highest military-ranked officer in Madagascar, and also a friend of the President James had been instructed to mobilize the Madagascar's Union Army for training and mock battles, to prepare them for future military actions, whether its interventions, or invasions.

Port-Au-Prince, Haiti
General Pedro Cuevas was a tall man, easily clearing 6'4. Buff as well, being able to put men half his age to shame. But the feature everyone who met him first noticed were his eyes. They were a dull grey, hidden normally behind a pair of aviators. When they weren't hidden though, they could strike fear into the toughest of men. Each movement they made had an air of intelligence around it, only adding to the already cold and calculating nature of their owner. This fact wasn't ever more prevalent than right now, when the large General was hard at work, deploying his men strategically. A platoon here, a squad there, a Firebase here. To a normal onlooker, it would appear random, but to Cuevas, it was a grand strategy. Designed with every contingency in mind. The way he had his infantry stationed, they could easily seal off any trouble villages if needed, while his Armor could be mobilized to almost any part of the country within a few hours. He didn't think he would need it though, for the citizens of Haiti were warming up to their Cuban occupiers. Everything they, the Cubans, were doing was an improvement over what they had previously lived under. Several factories were being rebuilt, and several more had already been reopened. A referendum was to be held to decide whether Haiti wanted to remain independent or join Cuba. Of course the results had already been decided. But it is always best to make the people think they have democracy.

Conference Room B, Security Wing Alpha, Defense Ministry, Havana, Cuba
Minister of Defense, Alejandro Mendez, sat in front of the table, his 10 advisers, each reporting on their specific departments. His adviser on technological development was leading the meeting, reporting that they were royally fucked. Not only were they using almost 100 year old tech in some units, they were too slow in the development of any new weapons. Seeing no other option, the Defense minister sent out an urgent message to the world's corporations:

"One!"

BOOM

The approaching Afrikaaners troops were armed with anti-armor weapons. Clearly, they intended to seize the goods. Or kill the employees.

"Two!"

BOOM

Johansson's instructions have been very clear. Detonate the cargo and see if he could safely evacuate the personnel.

"and three!"

BOOM

Well, the cargo was blown up. Along with the bridge it was on, but that was of no consequence. They were not going back anyways.

Now how on earth was he going to complete the second part of his instructions? Those troops obviously didn't want anyone to leave either.

Well, he reflected. The instructions there has been clear also. That's why the last explosive shell was in his own truck.

We inquire as to what the Cuban administration is indicating by "technology."

The Škoda Works may be able to provide certain types of technological and engineering expertise.

While we can sell you with military technologies, equipments, and arms, we want to know what kind of technologies, vehicles etc., that you need for your government's military, and we can provide foreign assistance as well.

The Škoda Works will be willing to manufacture such a line of rifles. After an examination of the provided blueprints, it appears to be well within Škoda's manufacturing capacities.

Although the Škoda Works will retool the factories required at our cost, given a large enough order, we are unable to offer a price lower than 50,000 koruna per unit, due to the complexity and advancement of the rifle.

Please specify how many units the Defense Council wants delivered. Smaller orders may cause an increase in price to cover the costs of the retooling.

Factories' Grounds within the Commonwealth

With a series of magnificent explosions the trucks exploded in flames of orange and yellow, with thick black smoke pouring high into the sky - it was exactly what they wanted. The Afrikaans' commanders in each area quickly radioed each other to see whether the same had occurred in their district, before deciding on...

"Ok, you can go now. Killing civilians isn't our priority - destroying anything of material value you try to take from the country is though."

One by one, all the military's vehicles slowly withdrawed from the factory grounds of in all parts of the country.

The Free Korea Coalition
|Chapter 1: The Unvieling|

"The Coalition," spoke Kim Swun, respected official of the Free Korea Coalition, referring to the Pan-Asian Coalition that had overtaken control of the Korean Peninsula. "has shown increasing leniency towards Korean independence. It has given Korea autonomy, and --"

"I don't care what they're showing Miss Swun!" Hyun Wo, the Head of the Coalition Operations, interrupted. "The fact of the matter is that we are not free from the sniveling swine that is the Pan-Asian Coalition!" He said with passion to the rest of the room, which was filled with another 9 bodies. "Now, the Coalition has no clue of us. As of this moment, we are nothing but a small spec of dust on a otherwise spotless surface. Completely unnoticeable and soon to be wiped away if we don't grow." The other officials in the room nodded in agreement."

"Okay, how do you plan on 'growing' Hyun?" Swun asked with an attitude. "We can't go out in the streets of Jinju guns ablaze you know, we'd have the entire world on our ass. You know that and so does everyone in this room."

"We should obviously continue to reach out to outside entities for aide," said Ju Wan-Sê, the Head of Coalition Communications. "Our weapons are immensely outdated, as General Seo will tell you, I'm sure."

"He's right. We need more aide in the form of weapons and we need them fast. We can't do anything with our current weaponry besides minimal self defence. If we want to go on offensives, we'll have to upgrade at least a little...which is a lot compared to what we have now." General Seo, Commander of the Military Wing added.

"I'll reach out to China, California, and even the Germans for help. All seem reasonable possibilities, given China's constant competitiveness and always looking to get an upper hand, California should be wanting to rise up in Pacific power and the Germans possibly wanting an unrivaled rise to global power." Wan-Sê announced.

Hyun looked intrigued, Western aid was a foreign idea to him as he hadn't even contemplated it. The 57 year-old had grown up in the North and to his memory the West was portrayed as evil. So that has remained imprinted in his mind, but he knew this was not the same world it was 40 years ago. This is a new world. "Fair enough, proceed Mr. Wan-Sê." He nodded approvingly. "In the mean time, since we can do anything militarily, any ideas on what we can do?"

The room stilled with silence, so much that a pin could be heard if dropped. "Okay good ideas men I like it." Hyun said sarcastically. "Really now! Think! We can't sit here and waste time!"

Swun spoke up, "We could deface monuments dedicated to the Coalition in former capitals of Seoul and Pyongyang. And other Coalition dedications across the Peninsula."

"Not a bad idea Kim," Hyun said after a momentary silence and head bob. "Anything in particular you were thinking?"

"Well obviously the Tower of Asian Unity in Pyongyang where the old Tower of Juche Idea once stood, and the Unity Gate in Seoul. They're Korean culture has been sucked dry by the imperialist parasites inside the Coalition. We can deface bridges across the Peninsula while we're at it."

"Good. Good. I like it!" Hyun said, special glee over the fact they'll be defacing the Unity Tower in Pyongyang. "Seo, tell our stations in Seoul and Pyongyang to get to work immediately."

"Yes."

"Thank you all, you're all relieved of you meeting duties and are ordered to return to your daily obligations."

Approximately 3:00am, January 9th.

"BaSEOUL this is Alpha at Tango, do you copy?" Captain Wu spoke silently into a radio, communicating with the.base in Seoul as they neared the Unity Gate.

"Team Alpha this is BaSEOUL, we copy."

"Is Operation Unveil a go, copy"

"Waiting confirmation, hold steady Alpha."

After only a few moments of waiting the base gained confirmation and signaled Alpha to carry through. Getting the signal they needed they rushed to the landmark. Dressed in common clothing, the appeared to be just common vandals. Taking paint and splashing it on the outside walls. They took sledgehammer and broke the concrete bricks that have held the gate upright for so long. Crudely spray-painting traditional North Korean flag blending into a traditional South Korean flag all across the walls. Painting the words "FREE KOREA" wherever possible. They finished just as quickly as they start, taking only twenty minutes for the walls to be tarnished by paint and chipped by the hammer. Meanwhile in Pyongyang, the only vandalism that took place was spray-painting the spotlights red and blue, traditional colors of the former Korean republics. Making the Unity Tower appear Red and Blue at night. This was the unveiling of the Free Korea Coalition. Small, but maybe enough to get someone in the Coalition worried.

I come to you, respected official(s) of the Second Chinese Republic, in humbleness. I, along with the rest of our Coalition, am in great awe of what you have been able to do for the Chinese people in a time of harshness and cruelness. It is truly epic in every regard. However, beyond my compliments is a reason to this message and it is to ask the Second Republic of China for a favor. We here at the Free Korea Coalition are tired of living under this "Pan-Asian Coalition", we are dreadfully tired in fact. No matter how merry the PAC may make it seem, Korea is in deep sorrow. We want independence. A free Korea. But we need you. We need China's help. There has been a long tradition of Sino-Korean relations and we feel this era should be no different. We ask simply of monetary funds to help us, nothing of weaponry or materialistic demands. We are short on funds and are in desperate need of them. Thank you for making us worthy of your time.

I come to you, respected official(s) of the German Empire, a humble man. I have great respect for what your nation has been able to accomplish in this era of turmoil and tribulation. A growing power indeed, the German Empire is something that all nations should look to as a model country to build their foundation on. But you know as well as I do, that my compliments come with a deeper message than that. I come to you to ask for assistance. Assistance against the retched Pan-Asian Coalition. They feed the world lies, but I tell you the truth. They abuse Koreans. Withhold food, water, and other necessities. I come to tell you that their reign in Korea must come to an end. And I come to you, diligent officials, in a time of need for my people. I ask for assistance, in any way that you can provide. Monetary, militarily, any aide will be graciously accepted. Thank you for making us worthy of your time.
