Really big and relatively flat. Everything else is a free for all I guess. Rocky wastes, steppes, mountains, salt seas, or maybe the rare jungle or two.

If the desert is that huge I imagine it would make an excellent location for constant dust storms and unstable, shifting land. Perhaps build a society around ambushing unwary desert travelers - Vagabonds not yet seasoned enough to spot obvious blind spots and ambushes?

Exactly! And also car driving road vikings.

Hey now, I know Mad Max is a great franchise but we don't gotta rip all our ideas from there. ;)

I agree. What made postpoc so great was because it was hard to pin down one particular source of influence.

We could have timonium-powered vehicles but I would argue that Vagabonds would probably either go in groups (so they can spread the collateral and afford the vehicles) or they'd be going solo with a pack animal or just on foot (though that might be unrealistic).

The ambushers would most likely only have one or two vehicles seeing as raiding isn't a reliable source of income.

It needn't always make sense. This RP is kind of satirical.

In the first one we drove around in an armoured vehicle called "Lucy", bit like those hippies in the Mystery Machine.

I forgot about timonium. What is the lore behind that? A guy named Tim named it?

If that's the case, we can have a raider religion where they worship the great power Tim.

It's not necessarily about making sense so much as about the world feeling real. Having caravans of adventurers crossing the desert is something one can really picture, similarly having timonium vehicles be this sort of luxury is something we can easily connect to our world.

So yeah we can have the whimsical Lucy and so forth but it's all gotta fit into the world for it to be entertaining. Like, maybe the team that uses her - like the Mystery Machine - is paid to go bounty hunting or solving mysteries of why caravans disappeared or all that. Can still have crazy characters and mischief but in a world that feels like it should accommodate them rather than having them stick out.

It's in the original OP.

Zed, my new character who's totally not Zee, will be outfitted a cybernetic arm that has an energy wave generator, which totally not the same as Zee's, capable of using Timonium energy cells.

I'll copy past the world build stuff we have from the original. All new contributions will be for a new location on Rigel-3

Should have done it earlier but I rushed it.

Oh man I missed this. I wonder what happened to Ayre anyways...

Regardless. I'd love to participate in this, but I'm in two other RPs atm. I will however gladly lurk and help with worldbuilding, and may re-join up later.

Given the existence of nomads and many former corporations, I'd like to see Great Khan be a site of political unrest, given it's the only bit of civilization for thousands of miles. Perhaps a tiered system similar to Montecristo with the most extravagant and strongest occupying the top of the ship.

Question: would this be all new characters or could we bring back old ones?

This would be nice. Would it involve/give insight to Zed?

Great Khan City sounds awesome, I'll put that in the reserve post! -nodnod-

I hope it will. It would also give insight to Zee.

I'm already on that. I created BLACKLIGHT as a backstory for my earlier (and new) character.

It serves as more of a side-arc, a backstory, rather than direct plot.

Aw, so I can't be an experimentee?
