Short History of your Nation:

New Holland was a small colony centered around New Amsterdam for much of the 16th century. It had a population of just over 20,000 and depended heavily on the fur trade supplied by the numerous surrounding native tribes. The establishment of lucrative sugar, cotton, and tobacco plantations drastically changed all the demography of all north american colonies in the 17th century as the poor and disenfranchised of Europe flocked to the shores of the New Word following promises of free land. By the late 17th century, New Amsterdam was the second largest city in North America and New Holland steadily grew in size by through a series of land purchases and military skirmishes with other newly established cities states.

The present day of Union of New Holland was formed in January of 1789 with the merger of the two largest Dutch Colonies in the New Word, New Holland and the Grand Duchy of New Rotterdam-Limburg. The City State of Greater Boston, a former English colony was later added to the Union via diplomatic cohesion and is considered one of the three founding republics.

The exodus of Dutch citizens and the Royal Court from the Home Provinces happened on July 1814 when the century long three way cold war between the Netherlands, France and England turned ugly when France invaded with force of 200,000 capturing the Amsterdam in a two year long siege. The majority of those who fled arrived in New Holland with the rest moving to Greater Rhodesia and Dutch Indochina. The influx of the skilled labor as well one of the largest banking systems in Europe helped propel New Holland to newer heights of economic prosperity and solidified the Union's identity as a nationstate.

Short Description of your nation: Predominantly Dutch with significant populations of people of English, French and Native decent. The population is over 90% Protestant and vehemently opposes Catholic influences. In fact, in New Holland, the color of your skin and your social-economic background matters less than the church you belong to. Catholic followers concentrated in the former French Colony of Acadia are frequently targeted for government sanctioned pogroms and are disallowed from participating in matters of politics and the military.

After months of fighting weakened and tired soldiers Ismael was able to successfully storm and capture the capital of San Juan, signing a treaty granting independence only a few weeks later. Ismael then took power as Prince, but set a precedent for having a large group of commoners that have a good say in the government's policies, even though it is not in a constitution. The next 200 years were mostly filled with peace, other than a few small wars with local powers. These small wars granted them lands on multiple other islands in the area, though nothing on the mainland. The main focus had been setting up a major center for trade, which came with the establishment of Alcaudete on the coast.
Short Description of your nation: Pretty much just a trade stop for major nations, nothing super special. Principality, ruled by a Prince with absolute power, but who gathers a large grouping of respected commoners for advice on the more important matters, typically siding with them on most things. Has a small but effective military almost entirely designed for defense, other than against small population who are actively aggressive. Has a small and happy populace. Education system is currently not very great, with a lot of the jobs being in the laborer position, although it is currently being revamped by the government.

Short History of your Nation:
Golden Horde remained in power and committed serious genocide against the Slavs in their conquest of Russia. Later on, they held on to power by building up a more stable system to elect the Khan, and basically took over Chagatai. They then, like RL Russia, expanded into Siberia and from there into Mongolia (by this time the Yuan were long gone and the old homeland was basically available), creating the Khanate that lives today. Because of the harsher genocide enacted against Slavs and the Central Asian peoples during the Mongol invasions, the population is smaller, and it has also grown less quickly than IRL.

The Mongol invasion of Russia was an appallingly bloody affair. After suffering heavy losses at a battle east of Kiev, the irritated Mongol commanders ordered their soldiers to put every village they found to the torch and slay every Rus man, woman, and child they found. Millions of Slavs perished as they swept Byelorussia, the Ukraine, and the rest of Eastern Europe as well, leaving much of Russia far more depopulated than in our timeline.
Meanwhile, in Central Asia, Mongol troops did commit major genocides against the local people's, but many were also simply rounded up and shipped off for resettlement, in China or Russia or the lands of the Ilkhanate.
When the empire split, the Ilkhanate started weakening itself by getting involved in a number of wars with Mamaluke Egypt, while the Horde strengthened its position over the weaker Russian princes by playing them against each other more effectively. One of the khans, in the late 1300s, purged his court and the Russian princely states, centralizing more power in his hands and removing it from various clans and princes.
Chagatai was weakened by wars with the Ilkhanate and the Yuan, while the Yuan eventually fell to the Ming. The Ilkhanate descended into civil war as well, leaving the Golden Horde as the last true outpost of Mongol rule and Mongol nobility. In a series of campaigns in the 1400s, another khan took over basically all of Russia west of the Urals, and the khanate would not be at peace for another several hundred years, as continuous fighting consolidated their hold over Russia and expanded their presence in former Chagatid and Ilkhanate lands. Additionally, people began migrating over the Urals, leading to clashes with the Siberian khanates until they bent the knee or were destroyed. By 1900, the last territories of Chagatai's remnants, in the high mountains of Kyrgyzstan near the Chinese border, had been absorbed, and the riders of the Golden Horde had already retaken the old homeland in Mongolia itself in the mid to late 1800s. The Golden Horde's expansion finally ceased in 1902, when the Horde's riders rode into the last de facto independent Chukchi fishing village in Chukotka, in the extreme northeast.
Like other Mongol states, the Horde is tolerant of all religions, but it also evolved a brutally effective secret police mechanism in the 1300s and 1400s, originally to deal with Russian princes (but this has since evolved to fill other roles). Mongolia itself, interestingly probably has fewer ethnic Mongols than the area around Sarai, on the Volga Delta and the northern Caspian. When the khan dies or is removed from office, many noble houses each send representatives to a kurultai and usually a candidate for khan as well, and elect a khan. These elections are often corrupt and there is sometimes violence surrounding them. The kurultai remains a thing even when the khan is alive and ruling, in case the need arises to remove him, and also to deal with day-to-day things and approve royal decrees. Most noble families rule their own lands fairly autonomously as well.

Short Description of your nation:
Still semi-feudal in some ways. High-speed rail lines connect the country but are used almost exclusively by the military and the government, everyone else has to use an old and shitty road and rail system. Mongol aristocratic families still have lands and titles, although there aren't serfs any more (mostly), and the secret police ruthlessly suppress political dissent. Also, Central Asia is basically one giant cotton plantation. However, the government also provides universal healthcare, unemployment benefits, and good public education, and ensures that though they may be poor, its citizens are never hungry. The government, with some exceptions, has also made sure that the people end up seeing benefits from the money now being brought in with the recent expansion of oil drilling into Siberia. However, common people haven't seen much technological change during the Golden Horde's rule, with the biggest things for them being trains, the occasional landline phone, and cars. Cell phones have become common in recent years as the government loosens trade restrictions, which were previously highly isolationist, but commoners do not have access to smartphones and only rarely to computers and social media, as the government fears it could be taken advantage of by dissenters. The military, the government, and the aristocracy, though, do get all the benefits of modern technology.

Short History of your Nation: The Goryeo Dynasty of Korea was established in 938 CE, with the ascent of King Taejo. It quickly became an established cultural and military power in the region, conquering the peninsula below Wonsan. When the Khitan Lao attempted to invade over the Amnok River (Yalu), the superior trained Goryeo armies inflicted humiliating defeats on the opposing forces, eventually taking the capital of Shangjing. The following year, Korea annexed the rest of the Manchuria region and vassalized the Liao. Throughout the remaining two centuries, Goryeo repulsed invasions from nomadic tribes, including the Golden Horde.

Around 1600/1550 CE, the Korean peninsula began experiencing the industrial revolution, the first nation in the World to do so. With a burgeoning population and already exploited resources, mass production was quickly replacing hand-made items, especially in the textiles industry. The agrarian structure underwent major transformations to become self-sustaining and greater yielding. Around this time, Korean explorers on turtle ships began exploring the surrounding areas, eventually discovering the American West Coast, where multiple colonies were established. Koreans began moving north into Siberia, Kamchatka, and Hokkaido, defeating their neighbors (including the Japanese) with superior technology. Later, this technological revolution would spread as far as Europe.

At some point (maybe late 1500s and middle 1600s?), Koreans began moving into Europe, establishing multiple trade-posts in countries like the French Empire, which they eventually absorbed in [x] war. Some say this move spurred the onset of the Industrial Revolution in Europe.
